Core Glossary
Core Glossary — Colossians (English → Dogri)
Purpose and Governing Rule
This glossary consolidates every load-bearing theological term identified in 07_semantic_analysis.md, covering Colossians chapters 1–4 in full. It is organized by doctrinal category, cites the chapter(s) in which each term is load-bearing, and records the destination-language (Dogri) rendering, risk tier, and translation notes.
Reuse rule: Terms marked [BASELINE REUSE] are already fixed in the Romans translation_memory.json / bible_term_registry.json and MUST be used exactly as recorded there — no new analysis or alternative rendering is introduced for these in Colossians. Terms marked [NEW] are introduced by this Colossians curriculum and must be added to translation memory (with version increment) before Phase 2 translation begins, per the Translation Memory Load and Enforcement Instructions in 12_ai_translation_requirements.md.
Risk tiers follow the baseline doctrine_risk_registry.json definitions exactly: Critical (human theologian review, every occurrence), High (human theologian review), Medium (native speaker review), Low (automated review sufficient).

| Body (of Christ/church) | σῶμα | sōma | देह | NEW | Medium | 1 | Same Greek word means “substance/reality” at 2:17 — context-dependent; do not force देह there. |

| Fullness (of Deity) | πλήρωμα | plērōma | भरपूरी | NEW | Critical | 1, 2 | Names core doctrine “Fullness of Deity in Christ Bodily.” Guard against both Colossian-heresy tiered-emanation reading AND the Vaishnava “purna avatara” (complete avatar) collision. |

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reconciliation | ἀποκαταλλάξαι/καταλλαγή | apokatallaxai | मेल-मलाप करना | NEW | Critical | 1 | Names core doctrine “Reconciliation through the Cross.” God is the reconciling initiator, not the party appeased by ritual offering. |

| Bond of debt / handwriting of ordinances | χειρόγραφον | cheirographon | करजे दी लिखत | NEW | Critical — top priority | 2 | Direct confrontation with karma-rin (karmic debt) worldview; Christ totally and permanently cancels the debt-record, no remaining balance ever. Anchor apologetic term for this curriculum. |
| Disarmed the rulers/authorities | ἀπεκδυσάμενος (τὰς ἀρχὰς…) | apekdysamenos | हथियार लाहना | NEW | Critical | 2 | Builds on 1:16 powers vocabulary; decisive, completed victory over feared spiritual powers. |

| Forgive (graciously) | χαρίζομαι | charizomai | माफ करना | NEW | High | 3 | Shares root with baseline grace (बिना कमाई दित्ती दया); reinforce, do not dilute. |
| Psalms, hymns, spiritual songs | ψαλμοί, ὕμνοι, ᾠδαὶ πνευματικαί | psalmoi, hymnoi, ōdai pneumatikai | भजन, स्तुति गीत, आत्मिक गीत | NEW | Medium | 3 | भजन is an accepted shared-vocabulary loanword in regional Christian usage — lower risk than पूजा-type ritual terms; still flag for awareness. |
| Submission (wives) | ὑποτάσσεσθε | hypotassesthe | अधीन रौह्ना | NEW | High | 3 | Names core doctrine “Household Codes.” Must always pair with husbands’ love-command and anti-harshness warning; izzat-culture collision risk. |
| Obey (children/parents) | ὑπακούετε (τοῖς γονεῦσιν) | hypakouete | हुकम मनणा / आज्ञा मनणा | NEW | Medium | 3 | Deliberately DIFFERENT term than baseline obedience_of_faith (भरोसे कन्नै ताल्लुक रखदी मन्नता) — ordinary filial obedience, not faith-obedience. |
| Do not provoke (fathers) | μὴ ἐρεθίζετε | mē erethizete | दिल नेईं दुखाना | NEW | Low-Medium | 3 | |
| Slave/bondservant | δοῦλος | doulos | गुलाम/दास (literal); साथी सेवक / सेवक (positive ministry sense) | NEW | High | 3, 4 | Same Greek word: literal slavery in household code (3:22) vs. positive “bondservant of Christ” self-designation (4:7,12) — context-sensitive. |
| Master (human, earthly) | κύριος (κατὰ σάρκα) | kyrios | मालिक | NEW | Critical (cross-reference) | 3, 4 | MUST NOT be rendered प्रभु, which is reserved exclusively for Christ’s divine Lordship per baseline. Preserves Paul’s own deliberate wordplay contrasting मालिक (earthly master) with प्रभु (3:23-24, ἐν Κυρίῳ, divine sense). |
| Lord (divine, “serve the Lord”) | Κύριος (ἐν Κυρίῳ) | Kyrios | प्रभु | [BASELINE REUSE] | Critical | 3, 4 | Reuse exactly; contrast with मालिक above must be preserved in the same passage. |

Chapter Coverage Confirmation
- Chapter 1: Fully analyzed — core passage (1:15-20) plus introduction, thanksgiving, prayer, and closing doxological/ministry section (1:1-14, 1:21-29). Introduces the majority of the book’s Critical-risk Christological and salvation vocabulary.
- Chapter 2: Fully analyzed — introduces all False-Teaching/Syncretism vocabulary, the χειρόγραφον (bond of debt) term (top-priority flag), and the triumph-over-powers passage.
- Chapter 3: Fully analyzed — introduces Union with Christ, Putting Off/On, virtue-vice lists, and the Household Codes (wives/husbands, children/parents, slaves/masters through 3:25).
- Chapter 4: Fully analyzed — continues Household Codes into masters (4:1), then prayer, mission, and closing greetings; reuses भेत (mystery), गियान/समझ-बूझ (wisdom, distinct practical-conduct sense), and सेवक/मालिक vocabulary established in earlier chapters. No entirely new doctrinal categories are introduced beyond those already covered in chapters 1–3.
No chapter of Colossians is without load-bearing theological vocabulary; all four chapters are represented above with explicit term-level analysis.
Critical Risk Terms
Grace
Approved rendering: बिना कमाई दित्ती दया
Transliteration: bina kamai ditti daya
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives: मन्नत दा फल (a boon granted in response to a vow, as sought at Vaishno Devi shrine; never use), पुण्य (merit earned through right action, never use)
CRITICAL: unmerited favor, never a mannat-economy vow-for-boon exchange. INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; reused unchanged for Colossians 1:2 (opening greeting) and as the root of the new term χαρίζομαι/माफ करना (forgive_graciously, Col 3:13), and Col 4:18.
Salvation
Approved rendering: उद्धार
Transliteration: uddhar
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: मुक्ति (liberation from the rebirth cycle, never use), मनोकामना पूरी होना (a wish/boon granted through a shrine vow, never use)
CRITICAL: never मुक्ति. INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; the same guard extends structurally to the new Colossians term छुटकारा (redemption) and करजे दी लिखत (bond_of_debt) — neither may collapse into moksha-style liberation or partial-payment logic.
Resurrection
Approved rendering: मुर्दघरा चा जिंदा होना
Transliteration: murdaghara cha jinda hona
Doctrine: Resurrection of Christ
Rejected alternatives: पुनर्जन्म (reincarnation, never use)
CRITICAL: never पुनर्जन्म. INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; root reused and extended in the new Colossians terms raised_with_christ (Col 2:12, 3:1) and died_with_christ (Col 3:3, 2:20) — believers’ corporate co-resurrection must remain doctrinally linked to, not merely analogous to, Christ’s own historical bodily resurrection.
Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभु
Transliteration: prabhu
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: महाराजा (a title strongly associated with the historic Dogra royal dynasty, avoid as the primary term for Christ’s Lordship)
CRITICAL: never महाराजा. INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; must be sharply and never interchangeably distinguished from the new Colossians term मालिक (master_human_earthly) in the household code (Col 3:22-4:1) — Paul’s own deliberate wordplay depends on this distinction.
Son Of God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर दा पुत्तर
Transliteration: Parmeshwar da puttar
Doctrine: Sonship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: अवतार (an incarnate deity-descent, e.g. Rama as Vishnu’s avatar at Raghunath Mandir, an explicit downgrade and rejected)
CRITICAL: never अवतार. INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; underlies Colossians’ Sonship of Christ / Kingdom of the Son doctrine (Col 1:13, 1:15) and the new compound term पुत्तर दा राज्य (kingdom_of_the_son).
Incarnation
Approved rendering: मानखे दा रूप लैना
Transliteration: mankhe da roop laina
Doctrine: Incarnation
Rejected alternatives: अवतार (never use; Raghunath Mandir’s Rama-avatar devotion makes this the single highest-salience wrong word in the Duggar region)
CRITICAL: NEVER अवतार. INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; this absolute prohibition extends with full force to every new Colossians term touching image, firstborn rank, fullness of Deity, and bodily indwelling (Col 1:15, 1:19, 2:9) — the single highest-risk collision point in this entire curriculum.
Messiah
Approved rendering: मसीह
Transliteration: masih
Doctrine: Messianic Promise
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; used throughout Colossians as Christ’s title, paired consistently with यीशु.
Jesus
Approved rendering: यीशु
Transliteration: Yishu
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: ईसा (used in Muslim/Urdu-influenced contexts; reserve for interfaith-dialogue framing only)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; used throughout Colossians paired with मसीह.
God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर
Transliteration: Parmeshwar
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: भगवान (broad Hindu deity usage, avoid for doctrinal precision)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; used throughout Colossians, foundational to the Fullness of Deity in Christ Bodily doctrine (Col 1:19, 2:9).
Holy Spirit
Approved rendering: पवित्तर आत्मा
Transliteration: pavittar aatma
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शक्ति (goddess-power, e.g. as embodied at Vaishno Devi and Bahu Fort, never use), परमात्मा alone (Hindu universal Self, never use)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; reused unchanged for Colossians 1:8-9.
Father
Approved rendering: पिता
Transliteration: pita
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; reused unchanged for Colossians 1:2-3, 1:12, 3:17.
Image Of God
Approved rendering: रूप (अणदिखदे परमेश्वर दा रूप)
Transliteration: roop (andikhde Parmeshwar da roop)
Doctrine: Supremacy of Christ over Creation
Rejected alternatives: मूर्ति (the carved/cast cult-image venerated at Raghunath Mandir and Bahu Fort; would reduce Christ to the best among many temple-images of God, exactly the theology Colossians refutes)
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:15. Christ is the exact, essential visible manifestation of the invisible God’s own nature, not one representation among many. रूप reuses the baseline’s non-avatar-coded ‘form’ vocabulary.
Firstborn Of Creation
Approved rendering: पहलौठा (सारी सृष्टि दा पहलौठा)
Transliteration: pahlautha (sari srishti da pahlautha)
Doctrine: Supremacy of Christ over Creation
Rejected alternatives: Any qualifier equivalent to ‘other’ inserted to imply Christ is himself part of creation (the Jehovah’s Witness NWT insertion pattern), ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:15. Rank/inheritance sense (supreme heir), NEVER first-created. Mandatory anti-Arian translator note required at every occurrence, paired with सारे थमां पैह्ले (before_all_things). Interacts with Dogra Rajput primogeniture custom — must be taught as rank/inheritance priority, not birth order.
Spiritual Powers Ranks
Approved rendering: तख्त/हकूमतां/हुकमरान/अधिकार
Transliteration: takht/hakumatan/hukamran/adhikar
Doctrine: Supremacy of Christ over Creation
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:16 (continues 2:15). Exhaustive rhetorical list of every rank of spiritual/angelic power, all created through and subordinate to Christ. Directly confronts the region’s devta/ancestor-spirit hierarchy and the Raghunath Mandir/Bahu Fort/Vaishno Devi devotional hierarchy; must never soften into naming rival active deities.
Fullness Of Deity
Approved rendering: भरपूरी
Transliteration: bharpuri
Doctrine: Fullness of Deity in Christ Bodily
Rejected alternatives: पूर्णता (generic ‘completeness,’ doctrinally neutral, fails to block both the ancient tiered-emanation heresy and the regional purna-avatara collision), अवतार-family vocabulary of any kind, ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:19, 2:9. Must never be heard as ‘Christ is the most complete of several avatars’ (the Vaishnava purna avatara category, associated with Raghunath Mandir Rama-Krishna devotion). This is the exclusive, total, unique indwelling of Deity in one person, once. Mandatory theologian review every occurrence.
Deity Godhead
Approved rendering: ईश्वरत्व
Transliteration: ishwaratv
Doctrine: Fullness of Deity in Christ Bodily
Rejected alternatives: भगवत्ता / देवत्व-style softened renderings implying honorific or derivative divinity rather than full ontological deity, rejected (mirrors the Unitarian/Socinian downgrade documented in the translation landscape)
NEW TERM, following the baseline deity_of_christ pattern (मसीह दा ईश्वरत्व). Colossians 2:9. Anchors the Fullness of Deity doctrine together with भरपूरी and देह रूप च.
Bodily Indwelling
Approved rendering: देह रूप च
Transliteration: deha roop ch
Doctrine: Fullness of Deity in Christ Bodily
Rejected alternatives: Any wording implying symbolic/ritual indwelling comparable to a deity’s presence localized in a consecrated मूर्ति, rejected
NEW TERM. Colossians 2:9. Real, actual, permanent bodily indwelling — not metaphorical intensification, not a temporary avatar-style visitation. Must be taught alongside भरपूरी and ईश्वरत्व as a single doctrinal unit.
Reconciliation
Approved rendering: मेल-मलाप करना
Transliteration: mel-milaap karna
Doctrine: Reconciliation through the Cross
Rejected alternatives: परमेश्वर दा गुस्सा शान्त करना (‘calming God’s anger’) — EXPLICITLY FORBIDDEN PHRASING, mirrors propitiatory temple-offering logic precisely, Any votive/mannat-style appeasement framing, rejected
NEW TERM, newly coined for this curriculum (no prior Dogri Christian precedent). Colossians 1:20-22. GOD is the reconciling initiator; humans/creation are the reconciled object, never the appeasing subject. Must never resemble offerings made to calm Kali/Bawe Wali Mata at Bahu Fort or a Vaishno Devi mannat. Mandatory theologian review every occurrence.
Redemption
Approved rendering: छुटकारा
Transliteration: chhutkara
Doctrine: Redemption and Forgiveness of Sins
Rejected alternatives: मुक्ति (moksha, liberation from the rebirth cycle), NEVER use
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:14. Deliverance from sin’s dominion into the kingdom of the Son through Christ’s costly ransom, never liberation from an impersonal cosmic cycle. Parallel guard to the baseline salvation entry.
Bond Of Debt
Approved rendering: करजे दी लिखत
Transliteration: karje di likhat
Doctrine: The Total Cancellation of the Debt-Record of Sin
Rejected alternatives: ऋणपत्र-style partial-payment framing leaving a residual balance, rejected, Any wording implying karma-rin (karmic debt) can still accrue further balance repayable through merit, ritual, pilgrimage, or rebirth, rejected
NEW TERM — TOP-PRIORITY ANCHOR TERM for this destination language. Colossians 2:13-14. Directly confronts the pervasive karma-rin worldview. Christ has totally and permanently cancelled the entire debt-record, nailing it to the cross, with NO remaining balance ever. Mandatory human theologian review on every single occurrence.
Disarmed The Powers
Approved rendering: हथियार लाहना
Transliteration: hathiyar lahna
Doctrine: Christ’s Victory over Spiritual Powers
Rejected alternatives: Ongoing-struggle framing implying supplementary ritual protection is still required, rejected
NEW TERM. Colossians 2:15. Builds directly on the 1:16 spiritual-powers vocabulary; must retain the force of a completed, historical, decisive victory.
False Philosophy
Approved rendering: खोखली दुनियावी सोच
Transliteration: khokhli duniyavi soch
Doctrine: Warning against False Teaching and Syncretism
Rejected alternatives: दर्शन-शास्त्र (the respected term for the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophy — Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Samkhya, Yoga, Mimamsa, Vedanta), NEVER use — would make Paul appear to condemn philosophical inquiry as such
NEW TERM. Colossians 2:8. Targets the specific human-tradition-based speculative system rivaling Christ, not philosophical reasoning as a category.
Elemental Spirits
Approved rendering: दुनियां दे मूल तत्त
Transliteration: duniyan de mool tatt
Doctrine: Warning against False Teaching and Syncretism
Rejected alternatives: Literal pancha-mahabhuta five-element cosmology framing, rejected, ग्रह-नक्षत्र astrological-force framing, rejected
NEW TERM. Colossians 2:8, 2:20. Must be taught as already-defeated spiritual powers (subordinated per 2:15), not literal physical elements or astrological forces consulted via the ज्योतषी figure already forbidden in the baseline prophet entry.
Worship Of Angels
Approved rendering: स्वर्गदूतां दी पूजा
Transliteration: swargdootan di puja
Doctrine: Sufficiency of Christ against Asceticism and Ritual
Rejected alternatives: A softened ‘veneration’ gloss that loses the force of Paul’s direct condemnation, rejected
NEW TERM. Colossians 2:18. पूजा (normally avoided for Christian contexts per the baseline church-vs-मंदर guard) is deliberately and correctly RETAINED here because Paul condemns exactly this act — directing worship at created spiritual beings. Directly applicable given intermediary devta veneration and ancestor-spirit propitiation. Mandatory theologian review; must not migrate elsewhere as a generic ‘worship’ gloss.
Severity To The Body
Approved rendering: देह कन्नै सख्ती
Transliteration: deha kannai sakhti
Doctrine: Sufficiency of Christ against Asceticism and Ritual
Rejected alternatives: Any wording carrying positive ascetic-merit connotation (tapasya-praise register), rejected
NEW TERM. Colossians 2:23. Directly parallels regional ascetic practice (fasting, tapasya, penitential pilgrimage exertion such as the Vaishno Devi trek), declared ‘of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.’ Extends the baseline grace-vs-merit guard into bodily discipline specifically; the ‘no value’ verdict must be unmistakable in tone, not neutral description.
Idolatry
Approved rendering: मूरत-पूजा
Transliteration: moorat-puja
Doctrine: Idolatry and Covetousness
Rejected alternatives: Euphemistic softening of image-veneration, rejected — direct, unsoftened naming required
NEW TERM. Colossians 3:5. Single most direct-collision term in the book given Duggar temple culture (Raghunath Mandir, Bahu Fort). Both the literal sense (image-veneration) and Paul’s extended sense (covetousness itself as idolatry) must be preserved. Mandatory theologian review.
Raised With Christ
Approved rendering: मसीह कन्नै मुर्दघरा चा जिंदा कीता गेआ
Transliteration: Masih kannai murdaghara cha jinda kita gea
Doctrine: Union with Christ (Died and Raised With Him)
Rejected alternatives: पुनर्जन्म (reincarnation), NEVER use, including in this corporate/extended sense
NEW TERM, built on the baseline resurrection root (reused exactly). Colossians 2:12, 3:1. Believers’ co-resurrection must be kept doctrinally linked to Christ’s own historical, bodily resurrection, not treated as a separate or generalized ‘new life’ metaphor.
Wisdom Revealed In Christ
Approved rendering: गियान
Transliteration: gyaan
Doctrine: Wisdom and Knowledge Hidden in Christ
Rejected alternatives: Any framing equating this with jnana / jnana-marga self-realized enlightenment attained through ascetic discipline or meditation, must be explicitly excluded
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:9, 2:3, 3:16. गियान directly overlaps with Hindu jnana; must be taught as a gift hidden exclusively in Christ, received by revelation, never by technique. Mandatory theologian review every occurrence.
Mystery Of Christ
Approved rendering: भेत
Transliteration: bhet
Doctrine: Mystery of Christ Revealed to All
Rejected alternatives: Tantric / guru-shishya-style initiate-restricted secret-knowledge framing, must be explicitly excluded by mandatory note at every occurrence
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:26-27, 2:2, 3:3 (hidden_with_christ distinguished), 4:3. The OPPOSITE of an esoteric secret reserved for initiates — now fully disclosed to ALL believers, with no remaining tier of secret higher knowledge. Mandatory theologian review every occurrence.
Master Human Earthly
Approved rendering: मालिक
Transliteration: malik
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ Distinguished from Human Masters
Rejected alternatives: प्रभु, ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN for this referent — reserved exclusively for Christ’s divine Lordship per the baseline lord entry
NEW TERM. Colossians 3:22, 4:1. Preserves Paul’s own deliberate wordplay contrasting मालिक (earthly master) with प्रभु (divine sense, 3:23-24, ἐν Κυρίῳ). Cross-reference flag required at every occurrence in chapters 3-4.
Afflictions Of Christ
Approved rendering: दुख
Transliteration: dukh
Doctrine: Apostolic Suffering for the Church
Rejected alternatives: Any framing implying Christ’s own atoning work was insufficient, ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:24 (‘filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions’). Refers to Paul’s own apostolic suffering undergone for the church’s sake, in union with but never in addition to Christ’s finished atoning work. Mandatory theologian note every occurrence, contextual Critical risk.
High Risk Terms
Gospel
Approved rendering: खरी खबर
Transliteration: khari khabar
Doctrine: Gospel
Rejected alternatives: सुसमाचार (a Hindi Christian loanword; avoid as the default rendering so this curriculum reads as Dogri, not Hindi with Devanagari spelling)
खरी खबर (‘true/good news’) is preferred over borrowing सुसमाचार directly from Hindi Christian usage. Confirm against the BSI Dogri Bible before wide deployment. INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; reused unchanged for Colossians 1:5, 1:23 (‘the gospel bearing fruit,’ ‘the hope of the gospel’).
Faith
Approved rendering: भरोसा
Transliteration: bharosa
Doctrine: Faith
Rejected alternatives: श्रद्धा (generalized devotional reverence, too broad)
The object of faith must always be named in context. INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; reused unchanged for Colossians 1:4, 2:5, 2:7.
Holy
Approved rendering: पवित्तर
Transliteration: pavittar
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शुद्ध (ritual purity, e.g. before temple worship, avoid as a substitute)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; reused unchanged for Colossians 1:2, 1:22, 3:12.
Saints
Approved rendering: पवित्तर लोक
Transliteration: pavittar lok
Doctrine: Sainthood
Rejected alternatives: साधु (an ascetic holy man, never use for the corporate sense)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; reused unchanged for Colossians 1:2, 1:4, 1:12, 1:26, 3:12.
Adoption
Approved rendering: गोद लैने आह् पुत्तर बनाना
Transliteration: god laine aah puttar banana
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; the full-son-status guard against Dogra Rajput izzat/lineage-honor demotion is cross-referenced by the new Colossians term विरासत (inheritance_in_christ), which must be taught as this same grace-given, non-bloodline-restricted status.
Sin
Approved rendering: पाप
Transliteration: paap
Doctrine: Universal Human Accountability
Rejected alternatives: भिट्ट (ritual impurity/pollution, avoid as a substitute)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; reused unchanged for Colossians 1:14, 2:13, and as the root of the new compound पापां दी माफी (forgiveness_of_sins).
Obedience Of Faith
Approved rendering: भरोसे कन्नै ताल्लुक रखदी मन्नता
Transliteration: bharose kannai tallukh rakhdi mannata
Doctrine: Obedience of Faith
Rejected alternatives: धार्मिक रीत-रिवाज निभाना (ritual/social duty-keeping, a works-based misreading tied to Dogra Rajput custom)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; deliberately kept lexically distinct from the new Colossians term हुकम मनणा / आज्ञा मनणा (obey_parents, ordinary filial obedience, Col 3:20) so the specific doctrine of faith-produced obedience is never collapsed into generic household obedience or vice versa.
Power Of God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर दी सामर्थ
Transliteration: Parmeshwar di samarth
Doctrine: Power of God for Salvation
Rejected alternatives: शक्ति (associated with goddess-power devotion, as at Bahu Fort’s Kali shrine and Vaishno Devi, avoid as the primary term)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; never शक्ति. Reused unchanged for Colossians 1:11, 1:29.
Providence
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर दा प्रबन्ध
Transliteration: Parmeshwar da prabandh
Doctrine: Providence
Rejected alternatives: किस्मत (fate, never use)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; cross-referenced by the new Colossians term इक्ठे रौंह्दे न (hold_together, Col 1:17), which is Christologically sharper — Christ himself, not an impersonal cosmic order, personally sustains all things.
Creation
Approved rendering: सृष्टि
Transliteration: srishti
Doctrine: Supremacy of Christ over Creation
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:15-16. सृष्टि is bound in Duggar popular Hindu cosmology to the cyclical srishti-sthiti-pralaya pattern; mandatory teaching note that biblical सृष्टि is one linear, purposeful act through Christ, never a recurring cosmic phase.
Head Of The Church
Approved rendering: सिर
Transliteration: sir
Doctrine: Christ as Head of the Church
Rejected alternatives: मालिक (household-master sense, rejected for this exalted Christological doctrine)
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:18, 2:19. Two collision risks: (1) Purusha Sukta caste-body hierarchy (head=Brahmin atop a graded body); (2) household-code ‘head of household’ overtones (3:18-4:1) bleeding backward. Must be taught as unique, life-giving, non-graded headship (cf. 3:11).
Preeminent
Approved rendering: सारकुछ च सब्भना थमां अग्गे
Transliteration: sarkuchh ch sabbhna thaman agge
Doctrine: Supremacy of Christ over Creation
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:18. Must retain totalizing ‘in everything,’ including over the named spiritual powers of 1:16; resist any softening that grants supremacy in some domains only.
Before All Things
Approved rendering: सारे थमां पैह्ले
Transliteration: sare thaman paihle
Doctrine: Supremacy of Christ over Creation
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:17. Eternal pre-existence, not merely chronological priority within creation; must be taught paired with पहलौठा to prevent an Arian-style demotion.
Dwell Permanently
Approved rendering: सदा आस्तै वसणा
Transliteration: sada aastai vasna
Doctrine: Fullness of Deity in Christ Bodily
Rejected alternatives: Temporary/repeatable avatar-descent framing, rejected
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:19. Permanent, settled indwelling of the fullness of Deity in Christ, distinct from the episodic, repeatable descent-pattern of avatar theology.
Blood Of The Cross
Approved rendering: लहू
Transliteration: lahu
Doctrine: Reconciliation through the Cross
Rejected alternatives: Framing analogous to Shakta blood-offering (bali) practice at the Bahu Fort Kali shrine, rejected
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:20. Christ’s concrete, historical, bodily death is the one, sufficient sacrifice — not one more ritual offering within an ongoing propitiatory system. Explicit theologian framing required, never silent avoidance.
Inheritance In Christ
Approved rendering: विरासत
Transliteration: virasat
Doctrine: Inheritance in Christ
Rejected alternatives: Bloodline-restricted primogeniture-birthright framing, rejected
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:12, 3:24. Resonates powerfully — and dangerously — with Dogra Rajput lineage-based inheritance customs (primogeniture, izzat). Must be explicitly taught as grace-given through adoption in Christ, available equally regardless of lineage, caste, or birth order; cross-reference baseline adoption entry.
Triumphal Procession
Approved rendering: फतह दा जलूस निकालना
Transliteration: fatah da jaloos nikalna
Doctrine: Christ’s Victory over Spiritual Powers
NEW TERM. Colossians 2:15. The Roman victory-parade referent is foreign and requires an explanatory note; pastorally significant good news given regional fear of malevolent spirits and tona-totka protective ritual.
Domain Of Darkness
Approved rendering: न्हेरे दा अधिकार
Transliteration: nhere da adhikar
Doctrine: Redemption and Forgiveness of Sins
Rejected alternatives: Generic folk-magical tona-totka threat framing alone, insufficient — must retain the sense of Satan’s organized dominion
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:13. Satan’s organized spiritual dominion, decisively broken by Christ (cf. 2:15), distinguished from local folk fears of malevolent spirits warded off individually.
Self Made Religion
Approved rendering: अपने बणाए नियमां दी पूजा
Transliteration: apne banae niyaman di puja
Doctrine: Sufficiency of Christ against Asceticism and Ritual
NEW TERM. Colossians 2:23. Extends the worship_of_angels warning to any self-devised religious system generally.
False Humility
Approved rendering: दिखावटी दीनता
Transliteration: dikhavati deenta
Doctrine: Sufficiency of Christ against Asceticism and Ritual
NEW TERM. Colossians 2:18, 2:23. CONTEXT-SENSITIVE: the identical Greek root (ταπεινοφροσύνη) is a genuine positive virtue at 3:12 (see virtue_list_compassion_etc); must be disambiguated at every occurrence to avoid either praising false asceticism or condemning true humility.
Died With Christ
Approved rendering: मसीह कन्नै मरना
Transliteration: Masih kannai marna
Doctrine: Union with Christ (Died and Raised With Him)
NEW TERM. Colossians 3:3, 2:20. Foundational to Christian Identity in Christ, extending the baseline doctrine into Colossians’ union-with-Christ vocabulary.
Put Off Old Self
Approved rendering: पुराना मनुक्खपन कढणा
Transliteration: purana mankhpan kadhna
Doctrine: Putting Off the Old Self and Putting On the New
Rejected alternatives: Karma-based, multi-life self-improvement framing, rejected
NEW TERM. Colossians 3:9. Decisive, once-for-all identity-change accomplished in union with Christ’s death, then progressively lived out — NOT a rebirth-cycle self-improvement project.
Put On New Self
Approved rendering: नमां मनुक्खपन पाना
Transliteration: naman mankhpan pauna
Doctrine: Putting Off the Old Self and Putting On the New
NEW TERM. Colossians 3:10. Paired directly with put_off_old_self; both require the same theologian note.
Full Knowledge
Approved rendering: पूरी पछान
Transliteration: puri pachhan
Doctrine: Wisdom and Knowledge Hidden in Christ
Rejected alternatives: गियान (deliberately avoided here to sidestep the Vedantic-gnosis collision)
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:9-10, 3:10. Relational, revealed acquaintance with God’s will, not self-attained realization.
Forgive Graciously
Approved rendering: माफ करना
Transliteration: maaf karna
Doctrine: Christian Fellowship and Love
NEW TERM. Colossians 3:13. Shares the χάρις root with the baseline grace entry; must reinforce, never dilute, the baseline guard against merit/vow-exchange logic.
Submission Wives
Approved rendering: अधीन रौह्ना
Transliteration: adheen raunhna
Doctrine: Household Codes
NEW TERM. Colossians 3:18. Must ALWAYS be taught paired with, and qualified by, the husbands’-love command (3:19) and anti-harshness warning (3:21) — never in isolation. Significant risk of being heard as confirming pre-existing Dogra Rajput izzat-based patriarchal household hierarchy without its Christ-centered qualification.
Slave Bondservant
Approved rendering: गुलाम/दास (literal); साथी सेवक (positive)
Transliteration: gulam/das (literal); sathi sevak (positive)
Doctrine: Household Codes
NEW TERM. The same Greek word (doulos) carries a literal household-slavery sense at Colossians 3:22 and a positive ministry self-designation sense at 4:7, 4:12 — context-sensitive, must not conflate.
No Distinction Social Status
Approved rendering: (list construction; no single term)
Transliteration: n/a
Doctrine: New Identity in Christ: No Distinction
NEW TERM SET. Colossians 3:11 (Greek/Jew, circumcised/uncircumcised, barbarian/Scythian, slave/free). Extends the baseline unity_of_jews_and_gentiles / universal_scope_of_gospel framework explicitly to Dogra Rajput caste and lineage-honor (izzat) categories; must retain unqualified universality.
Medium Risk Terms

Transliteration: Parmeshwar da rajya

Law
Approved rendering: व्यवस्था
Transliteration: vyavastha
Doctrine: Fulfillment of Prophecy
Rejected alternatives: धरम (avoid Dogra Rajput lineage-duty associations)
INHERITED FROM ROMANS PACKAGE; kept lexically distinct from the new Colossians term हुकम (decree_ordinance, δόγμα, Col 2:14), which names the specific legal demands cancelled at the cross, not the Mosaic Law as such.
Intercession
Approved rendering: बिचाल्ले होइयै बिनती

Doctrine: Christ as Head of the Church

Transliteration: shuruaat/mool
Doctrine: Christ as Head of the Church
NEW TERM. Colossians 1:18. Christ as originating source of the church’s new life, paralleling his role as originating source of creation. Minor risk of collapsing into bare ‘starting point.‘

Transliteration: ikthe raundhe ne
Doctrine: Sustaining Providence of Christ over Creation
