09 Cross-Reference and Theme Analysis — 2 Corinthians → Malayalam
Scope and Method
This document covers every Old Testament quotation and allusion, every messianic reference, every typological pattern, and every substantive parallel to the Romans curriculum (the governing baseline for this language pipeline) across all 13 chapters of 2 Corinthians, first to last. No chapter is silently omitted; chapters with no direct OT quotation are noted with their thematic/allusive connections instead. Citations are given in normalizable form (Book Chapter:Verse) per the PRD requirement. Malayalam term recommendations reuse translation_memory.json and 07_semantic_analysis.md / 08_core_glossary.md renderings exactly; no new renderings are proposed here — this document is a reference matrix for Phase 2 review routing, not a fresh glossary.
Translation sensitivity ratings use the same Critical/High/Medium/Low framework as the baseline doctrine_risk_registry.json.

Note on the 6:16-18 catena: This is a deliberately woven chain of at least five distinct OT texts presented as a single continuous quotation. Translators must not treat it as one simple citation; each strand (indwelling presence / separation / sonship) carries independent OT weight and should be checked against its own source text during Phase 2 back-translation review.

Because Romans is the governing baseline curriculum for this language pipeline, every shared theological term or quoted OT text between 2 Corinthians and Romans must be rendered with full internal consistency. The table below records each parallel and the specific consistency rule to apply in Phase 2.

Summary Note on Full-Book Coverage
Every chapter of 2 Corinthians (1–13) has been reviewed for OT quotation, allusion, messianic reference, and typology above; no chapter lacked at least one substantive cross-reference. Chapters 7 and 10 carry the lightest direct-quotation load (allusion and background pattern only, no verbatim OT citation) and are noted accordingly rather than omitted. The Romans parallel matrix in Part 3 identifies the specific rendering-consistency obligations Phase 2 must enforce, foremost among them the recommendation to formalize a shared “reconciliation” (നിരപ്പ്) entry across both curricula’s translation memory, given its absence from the existing Romans baseline despite Romans 5:10-11’s use of the identical Greek root.
