Core Glossary
Core Glossary — 1 Thessalonians
This glossary consolidates every load-bearing theological term identified in analysis/07_semantic_analysis.md, covering all five chapters of 1 Thessalonians plus the core passage (4:13-18). Terms already recorded in the baseline Romans translation_memory.json are marked (Romans TM — reused verbatim) and must never be re-translated or altered. New terms specific to this curriculum are marked (New) and are proposed here for addition to translation memory pending the theologian/native-speaker review routing indicated.

Section B — New Terms Proposed for 1 Thessalonians Translation Memory
B1. Eschatology — Return of Christ / Day of the Lord (highest concentration of Critical risk)
| English Term | Original (Greek/translit.) | Bodo Rendering | Transliteration | Risk | Doctrine | Chapters | Rationale / Cultural Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coming (Parousia) | παρουσία / parousia | मसीहनि फिन फैनाय | Mosihni phin phoinai | Critical | Return of Christ | 3, 4 (core), 5 | The letter’s defining term. Must be sharply distinguished from फिन जोनोम (forbidden rebirth/reincarnation term); shared “फिन” morpheme is a surface collision risk requiring explicit disambiguation in every lesson. |
| Descend (from heaven) | καταβαίνω / katabainō | सोर्गोनि सोलायनाय | sworgoni solainai | Medium | Return of Christ | 4 (core) | Must not resemble language for a deity’s temporary/repeatable descent into a doudini medium during Kherai trance. |
| Caught up (Rapture) | ἁρπάζω / harpazō | सोर्गोआव उठाय लाबोनाय | sworgoav uthai labwnai | Critical | Return of Christ / Resurrection of Believers | 4 (core) | Greek “seize/snatch” closely parallels vocabulary for a doudini being ritually “seized” by Bathoubwrai/Kherai pantheon spirits in trance. Must be taught as a permanent, glorious, whole-church bodily event, never a repeatable trance-possession phenomenon. |
| Meet (the Lord) | ἀπάντησις / apantēsis | प्रभुखौ मिनाखिनाय | probhukhou minakhinai | Medium | Return of Christ | 4 (core) | Technical Hellenistic civic-welcome term (citizens going out to escort a visiting king home); no exact Bodo civic equivalent, teach with royal-welcome background. |
| Archangel | ἀρχάγγελος / archangelos | महा स्वर्गदूत | moha sworgodut | Medium | Return of Christ | 4 (core) | Created heavenly being; must be distinguished from देउ (nature-spirits) and बुरहा-बुरही आत्था (ancestral spirits). |
| Angel | ἄγγελος / angelos | स्वर्गदूत | sworgodut | Medium | Return of Christ | 4 (core) | Base term underlying “archangel”; same distinction applies. |
| Trumpet of God | σάλπιγξ θεοῦ / salpigx theou | ईश्वरनि सिंगा | Isornni singa | Low-Medium | Return of Christ | 4 (core) | Distinguish from ritual horns/drums used in Kherai puja and other Bodo festival contexts; this is a unique eschatological signal, not a ritual summons. |
| Day of the Lord | ἡμέρα κυρίου / hēmera kyriou | प्रभुनि सान | probhu ni san | Critical | Day of the Lord | 5 | Genuine conceptual gap: Bathou ritual life is cyclical/seasonal (Kherai puja’s agricultural calendar), and Brahma Dharma favors gradual karmic reform rather than one decisive future judgment day. Teach from the ground up, parallel to how the Romans package taught “salvation.” |
| Thief in the night | κλέπτης ἐν νυκτί / kleptēs en nykti | गाबखौ बुबुला जायाब्लानि थीबकि | (descriptive idiom) | Medium | Day of the Lord | 5 | Idiom of unpredictable suddenness; preserve meaning over literal image if idiom does not transfer naturally. |
| Sons of light / of the day | υἱοὶ φωτός/ἡμέρας | उजोरनि गोरा-गोरोमोन | ujwrni gora-goromon | High | Day of the Lord | 5 | Moral-spiritual dualism (truth/vindication vs. sin/judgment); must not be conflated with Bathouism’s five sacred elements (including “or,” fire/light), which is a cosmological, not moral, category. |
| Night / darkness (identity) | νύξ/σκότος / nyx/skotos | गुबुननि गोरा-गोरोमोन | gubunni gora-goromon | High | Day of the Lord | 5 | Contrast identity to “sons of light”; same distinction from Bathou cosmology applies. |
| Wrath (of God, to come) | ὀργή / orgē | ईश्वरनि साजायनि गुस्सा | Isornni sajaini gussa | Critical | Day of the Lord | 1, 2, 5 | God’s holy judicial anger, never appeasable through ritual offering exchange (parallels the grace/merit distinction already flagged Critical in the Romans package). |
B2. Resurrection of Believers / Hope in Grief
| English Term | Original | Bodo Rendering | Transliteration | Risk | Doctrine | Chapters | Rationale / Cultural Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Asleep (death euphemism) | κοιμάομαι / koimaō | गोदुइनाय | goduinai | High | Resurrection of Believers / Hope in Grief | 4 (core), 5 | Death of a believer as temporary, reversible; must not imply ongoing ancestral-spirit presence in the household (bura-buri). |
| Hope | ἐλπίς / elpis | आशा | asha | High | Hope in Grief | 1, 4 (core), 5 | The letter’s central pastoral term; must convey certain future confidence grounded in a historical event, not vague optimism or fatalistic भागी-style acceptance. |
| Grieve / mourn | λυπέω / lypeō | गोमोनाव दुख: जानाय | gwmonao dukhw janai | Medium | Hope in Grief | 4 (core) | Christian grief is real but bounded by hope; contrast with grief that has no future horizon. |
| Steadfastness of hope | ὑπομονὴ ἐλπίδος | आशानि सैथोन | ashani saithon | High | Hope in Grief | 1 | Endurance sustained specifically by future confidence in Christ’s return. |
| Living and true God | θεὸς ζῶν καὶ ἀληθινός | जिउनाय आरो सत्य ईश्वर | jiunai aro swtyo Isor | High | Hope in Grief | 1 | Contrasts with idols; grounds hope in a God who is alive, unlike any lifeless or derivative rival. |
| Died for us | ἀποθανόντος ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν | आमागुबुननि थाखाय जोबोन जानाय | amagubunni thakhai jobon janai | Critical | Hope in Grief | 5 | Christ’s substitutionary death secures believers whether alive or asleep at his coming. |
| Live together with him | ζήσωμεν σὺν αὐτῷ | बियजों सोलोंगुरि जिउनाय | biyajwng solongguri jiunai | High | Resurrection of Believers | 5 | Must render consistently with 4:17’s “always be with the Lord.” |
| Spirit, soul, and body | πνεῦμα, ψυχή, σῶμα | आत्था, जिउ, गुदि | aatha, jiu, gudi | Critical | Sanctification / Resurrection of Believers | 5 | Describes the whole, unified human person kept blameless; must not be read as separable spirit-entities exchangeable or vacatable, unlike Kherai trance ideology’s altered-state possession model. |
B3. Sanctification and Christian Ethics
| English Term | Original | Bodo Rendering | Transliteration | Risk | Doctrine | Chapters | Rationale / Cultural Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Will of God | θέλημα θεοῦ | ईश्वरनि मन | Isornni mon | High | Sanctification | 4 | Personal, purposive divine intention, not impersonal cosmic dharma or fatalistic destiny. |
| Sexual immorality | πορνεία / porneia | जिनसिनि गुनाह | jinsini gunah | High | Sanctification | 4 | Named ethical boundary; pastorally sensitive given traditional clan (afad) marriage regulation and contemporary social change. |
| Vessel / (own) body | σκεῦος / skeuos | गुदि | gudi | Medium | Sanctification | 4 | Euphemistic Greek idiom; render plainly as “body” to avoid ambiguity. |
| Holiness (state) | ἁγιωσύνη / hagiōsynē | पबित्रता | pobitrota | High | Sanctification | 3 | Distinct noun-form from ongoing sanctification (hagiasmos); the completed goal-state at Christ’s coming. |
| Brotherly love | φιλαδελφία / philadelphia | बाईयारि मोरोम | baiyari morom | Low-Medium | Sanctification | 4 | Narrower than agapē; love within the spiritual family specifically. |
| Love | ἀγάπη / agapē | मोरोम | morom | Medium | Sanctification / Hope in Grief | 1, 3, 4, 5 | General self-giving covenantal love; distinguish from mere clan-loyalty affection. |
| Taught by God | θεοδίδακτος / theodidaktos | ईश्वरनि फोरमायनाय | Isornni phormainai | Low | Sanctification | 4 | Direct divine instruction underlying the command to love. |
| Please God | ἀρέσκω / areskō | ईश्वरखौ सन्तुष्ट खालामनाय | Isorkhou sontusto khalamnai | Medium | Sanctification | 2, 4 | Relational goal of conduct, not ritual satisfaction of a deity through reciprocal exchange. |
| Blameless | ἄμεμπτος / amemptōs | दोषा गैयि | dosha gayi | Medium | Sanctification | 2, 5 | Freedom from valid charge, describing conduct patterned for imitation. |
| Do not quench the Spirit | σβέννυμι / sbennymi | पबित्र आत्थाखौ नुमाय दिनाय | pobitro aathakhou numai dinai | Critical | Sanctification | 5 | Resisting the one indwelling Spirit’s ongoing work — categorically distinct from ritually dismissing a temporarily-invoked spirit at the close of a Kherai ceremony. |
| Test everything | δοκιμάζω / dokimazō | सोदोब जांनाय | sodob jangnai | Medium | Sanctification | 5 | Discernment safeguard; implicitly relevant given the doudini’s own claimed oracular utterances in Kherai practice. |
| Sanctify wholly | ὁλοτελής / holotelēs (+ hagiasai) | पबित्रनाय + पूरा | pobitronai + pura | High | Sanctification | 5 | Intensifies established sanctification term to the whole person. |
B4. Apostolic Ministry, Opposition, and Church Life
| English Term | Original | Bodo Rendering | Transliteration | Risk | Doctrine | Chapters | Rationale / Cultural Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Idols | εἴδωλα / eidōla | मिथ्या देवता | mithya debota | Critical | Hope in Grief / conversion background | 1 | Bathou worship is itself aniconic (sijou plant, no image); render broadly (“false deity”) so the critique is not wrongly read as inapplicable to an image-less tradition. |
| Satan | Σατανᾶς / Satanas | सैतान | Saitan | Critical | Sanctification (opposition) | 2, 3 | A single, personal, defeated adversary — not one more spirit within the populated Bathou/Kherai pantheon to be ritually managed. |
| Tempter | ὁ πειράζων / ho peirazōn | फुसुलायग्रा | phusulaigra | High | Sanctification (opposition) | 3 | Satan’s specific role of testing faith through affliction. |
| Affliction / tribulation | θλῖψις / thlipsis | गोरोन दुख: | goron dukhw | Medium | Hope in Grief | 1, 3 | Distinguish from दुःख in its Brahma Dharma karmic-consequence sense; here, temporary trial endured in hope. |
| Joy | χαρά / chara | आनन्द | anondo | Low-Medium | Hope in Grief | 1 | Spirit-produced gladness amid affliction, distinct from ritual/festival celebration. |
| Imitators | μιμηταί / mimētai | उदाहरण नाजानाय मानुष | udaharon naijanai manwsw | Medium | Church life | 1, 2 | Following an apostolic/Christ-like pattern of conduct. |
| Work of faith / labor of love | ἔργον πίστεως / κόπος ἀγάπης | बिश्वासनि खामानि / मोरोमनि सोरनी | biswasni khamani / moromni sorni | Medium | Sanctification | 1 | Faith and love visibly and costingly enacted; guard against a merit-earns-standing misreading. |
| Faithful (God is) | πιστός / pistos | बिश्वासजोग्य | biswasjogyo | Medium | Hope in Grief | 5 | God’s own reliability as the ground of assurance, distinct from human बिश्वास (trust extended toward God). |
| Holy kiss | φίλημα ἅγιον / philēma hagion | पबित्र चुम्बन | pobitro chumban | Low | Church life | 5 | Cultural greeting-custom; doctrinal content (holiness) matters more than the literal gesture, which may need pastoral adaptation. |

Critical Risk Terms
Grace
Approved rendering: मोफादांनाय दान
Transliteration: mwphwdangnai daan
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives: दान गोरोबनाय (a reciprocal gift expecting return offering, rejected), पुण्य (Brahma Dharma merit-language, never use)
Original: χάρις
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Occurs at 1 Thessalonians 1:1 in the standard Pauline greeting (‘grace and peace’). Must resist both the Bathou/Kherai reciprocal-offering reading and the Brahma Dharma merit reading, exactly as in the Romans baseline.
Salvation
Approved rendering: फोरायनाय
Transliteration: phoraynai
Doctrine: Wrath and Divine Judgment
Rejected alternatives: मोक्ष (Brahma Dharma’s Hindu-derived liberation concept, never use), रैखाथि (protection from the Kherai pantheon against misfortune, never use as a stand-alone gloss for eternal salvation)
Original: σωτηρία
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. In 1 Thessalonians 5:8-9, tied specifically to hope and to deliverance from the coming wrath (‘destined…to obtain salvation’), reinforcing 1:10’s deliverance language.
Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभु
Transliteration: probhu
Doctrine: The Return of Christ
Rejected alternatives: बुरहा/बर’ऐ titles reserved for Bathoubwrai and Kherai-pantheon elder-deities, never use for Christ
Original: κύριος
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. Used repeatedly throughout 1 Thessalonians, especially of Christ’s return (4:15-17: ‘the Lord himself will descend’; 4:16 ‘the Lord himself’); never rendered with बर’ऐ/बुरहा.
Holy Spirit
Approved rendering: पबित्र आत्था
Transliteration: pobitro aatha
Doctrine: The Holy Spirit’s Indwelling Work
Rejected alternatives: देउ (a generic spirit-being from the Bathou/Kherai pantheon, never use), बुरहा-बुरही आत्था (ancestral household spirits, never use)
Original: πνεῦμα ἅγιον
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Always in full at 1 Thessalonians 1:5-6, 4:8, 5:19 (‘do not quench the Spirit’); never bare देउ/आत्था.
Jesus
Approved rendering: जिसु
Transliteration: Jisu
Doctrine: The Return of Christ
Original: Ἰησοῦς
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. Appears throughout 1 Thessalonians; notably 4:14 (‘Jesus died and rose again’).
God
Approved rendering: ईश्वर
Transliteration: Isor
Doctrine: Conversion from Idolatry
Rejected alternatives: बाथौबुरै (never use as the primary term for the biblical God)
Original: θεός
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Thessalonians 1:9 contrasts ईश्वर explicitly with idols (‘turned to God from idols’).
Messiah
Approved rendering: मसीह
Transliteration: mosih
Doctrine: The Return of Christ
Original: Χριστός
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. Used throughout as Christ’s title; foundational to the compound मसीहनि फिन फैनाय (Parousia, see Section B).
Resurrection
Approved rendering: जिउनाय सोलायनाय
Transliteration: jiunai solainai
Doctrine: Resurrection of Believers
Rejected alternatives: फिन जोनोम (rebirth/reincarnation, absorbed into Bodo religious discourse via Brahma Dharma, never use)
Original: ἀνάστασις / ἀνέστη
Category: Eschatology
Inherited from Romans package, where it applied to Christ’s resurrection. 1 Thessalonians 4:14, 16 extends the identical term to believers’ future bodily resurrection, which is guaranteed by and patterned on Christ’s own; this extension must be explicitly taught, never rendered with फिन जोनोम.
Son Of God
Approved rendering: ईश्वरनि गोरा
Transliteration: Isornni gwra
Doctrine: The Return of Christ
Rejected alternatives: देवता गोरा (a lesser divine being’s son, an explicit downgrade)
Inherited from Romans package. Directly relevant to 1 Thessalonians 1:10 (‘to wait for his Son from heaven’); never a lesser divine being among the populated Bathou/Kherai pantheon.
Righteousness
Approved rendering: धार्मिकता
Transliteration: dharmikota
Doctrine: Apostolic Integrity and Suffering
Rejected alternatives: धर्म (avoid the bare Sanskritic sense of cosmic duty imported through Brahma Dharma reform teaching)
Inherited from Romans package. Occurs adjectivally at 1 Thessalonians 2:10 (‘holy, righteous, and blameless’) describing the missionaries’ own conduct as a pattern; must not collapse into achievable moral performance.
Parousia
Approved rendering: मसीहनि फिन फैनाय
Transliteration: Mosihni phin phoinai
Doctrine: The Return of Christ
Rejected alternatives: पारूसिया (opaque transliteration, unintelligible at Class 8-10 reading level, rejected), any phrasing echoing फिन जोनोम (forbidden rebirth/reincarnation register, rejected), phrasing emphasizing ongoing invisible ‘presence’ rather than a future visible coming (Watchtower/Jehovah’s Witnesses-style reading, rejected)
Original: παρουσία
Category: Eschatology
NEW. Built from फिन (‘again’) + फैनाय (‘coming’). This is the single most doctrinally load-bearing term in the letter, occurring at 1 Thessalonians 3:13, 4:15, 5:23. Shares the फिन morpheme with the forbidden फिन जोनोम (rebirth/reincarnation, absorbed into Bodo religious discourse through Brahma Dharma reform teaching) — a genuine surface collision risk despite opposite underlying concepts. Must always be taught as Christ’s own singular, bodily, historical, unrepeatable return, never a cyclical rebirth event and never an already-occurred invisible presence. Every occurrence requires human theologian review.
Day Of The Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभुनि सान
Transliteration: probhu ni san
Doctrine: The Day of the Lord
Rejected alternatives: assimilation into the cyclical, seasonal Kherai puja ritual calendar, rejected, assimilation into Brahma Dharma’s gradualist karmic-reform narrative, rejected
Original: ἡμέρα κυρίου
Category: Eschatology
NEW. 1 Thessalonians 5:2 and throughout 5:1-11. A genuine conceptual gap, not a wrong-existing-word problem: Bathou ritual life is cyclical/seasonal, and Brahma Dharma favors gradual karmic reform rather than a single decisive future judgment day. Must be taught from the ground up, exactly as फोरायनाय (salvation) was taught in the Romans package.
Caught Up
Approved rendering: सोर्गोआव उठाय लाबोनाय
Transliteration: sworgoav uthai labwnai
Doctrine: The Return of Christ
Rejected alternatives: generic seize/snatch verbs resembling doudini trance-seizure vocabulary during Kherai puja, rejected
Original: ἁρπαγησόμεθα (ἁρπάζω)
Category: Eschatology
NEW. 1 Thessalonians 4:17. The single highest-risk phrase in the letter: Greek harpazō (‘seize/snatch’) sits close in surface semantics to vocabulary describing a doudini being ritually seized by Bathoubwrai/Kherai-pantheon spirits in trance. Must foreground a permanent, glorious, whole-church, unrepeatable bodily removal to meet Christ — never a repeatable individual trance-possession event. Mandatory human theologian review, every occurrence.
Wrath Of God
Approved rendering: ईश्वरनि साजायनि गुस्सा
Transliteration: Isornni sajaini gussa
Doctrine: Wrath and Divine Judgment
Rejected alternatives: framing as appeasable through ritual offering exchange, rejected
Original: ὀργή
Category: God
NEW. 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 2:16, 5:9. God’s holy, judicial anger against sin must never be framed as appeasable through ritual offering exchange, paralleling the grace-versus-merit/reciprocal-exchange risk already Critical for grace in the Romans package.
Idols
Approved rendering: मिथ्या देवता
Transliteration: mithya debota
Doctrine: Conversion from Idolatry
Rejected alternatives: carved-image-specific rendering (too narrow given Bathouism’s own aniconic worship centered on the sijou plant), rejected
Original: εἴδωλα
Category: God
NEW. 1 Thessalonians 1:9. Rendered broadly (‘false deity/likeness’) rather than narrowly (‘carved image’), since Bathou worship is itself aniconic; a narrow rendering would wrongly exempt traditional practice from the critique.
Satan
Approved rendering: सैतान
Transliteration: Saitan
Doctrine: Spiritual Opposition (Satan)
Rejected alternatives: देउ-class generic spirit term implying one more manageable Bathou/Kherai pantheon spirit, rejected
Original: Σατανᾶς
Category: Spiritual Warfare
NEW. 1 Thessalonians 2:18, 3:5. Transliterated as a proper name for a single, personal, already-defeated adversary — not one more spirit within the populated Bathou/Kherai pantheon to be ritually placated or managed through offering.
Quench The Spirit
Approved rendering: पबित्र आत्थाखौ नुमाय दिनाय
Transliteration: pobitro aathakhou numai dinai
Doctrine: The Holy Spirit’s Indwelling Work
Rejected alternatives: ritual dismissal of a temporarily-hosted spirit at the close of a Kherai ceremony, rejected
Original: τὸ Πνεῦμα μὴ σβέννυτε
Category: Sanctification
NEW. 1 Thessalonians 5:19. Must describe resisting the one, personal, permanently indwelling Holy Spirit’s ongoing work — categorically distinct from a Kherai ceremony’s ritual dismissal of a temporarily-invoked spirit at the close of trance.
Spirit Soul Body
Approved rendering: आत्था, जिउ, गुदि
Transliteration: aatha, jiu, gudi
Doctrine: Wholeness of the Human Person (Spirit, Soul, Body)
Rejected alternatives: separable/exchangeable spirit-entity framing consistent with trance-possession ideology, rejected
Original: πνεῦμα καὶ ψυχὴ καὶ σῶμα
Category: Sanctification
NEW. 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Describes the whole, unified human person kept blameless — must not be read as separable spirit-entities that could be occupied, exchanged, or vacated, unlike the altered-state possession model underlying doudini trance in Kherai puja.
Died For Us
Approved rendering: आमागुबुननि थाखाय जोबोन जानाय
Transliteration: amagubunni thakhai jobon janai
Doctrine: Union with Christ in Life and Death
Rejected alternatives: generic exemplary or merely heroic-death framing, rejected
Original: ἀποθανόντος ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν
Category: Salvation
NEW. 1 Thessalonians 5:10. Christ’s substitutionary, benefit-conferring death secures believers’ salvation whether alive or asleep at his coming, directly serving the Hope-in-Grief doctrine.
Dead In Christ
Approved rendering: मसीहआव जोबथाय
Transliteration: Mosihao jobthai
Doctrine: Resurrection of Believers
Original: οἱ νεκροὶ ἐν Χριστῷ
Category: Eschatology
NEW. 1 Thessalonians 4:16. Union with Christ persists through death; must render consistently with asleep (गोदुइनाय, 4:13) and live_together_with_him (5:10) as referring to the same reality.
High Risk Terms
Gospel
Approved rendering: मंगल खबर
Transliteration: mangal khabor
Doctrine: Gospel Proclamation and Power
Rejected alternatives: सुसमाचार (Hindi loan, avoid as default; retain only as an explanatory gloss for readers already literate in Hindi)
Original: εὐαγγέλιον
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. मंगल खबर is preferred over a direct Hindi सुसमाचार borrowing so the curriculum reads as Bodo, not Hindi-with-Devanagari-spelling. In 1 Thessalonians, occurs at 1:5 (‘our gospel came to you…in power’), 2:2-9, 2:13, tied specifically to the gospel’s Spirit-given effectiveness, which must be kept distinct from doudini mediumistic power (see gospel_in_power below).
Faith
Approved rendering: बिश्वास
Transliteration: biswas
Doctrine: Hope in Grief
Rejected alternatives: भरोसा (generic trust, too weak alone)
Original: πίστις
Category: Faith
Inherited from Romans package. Central throughout 1 Thessalonians (1:3, 1:8, 3:2-10, 4:14, 5:8); object of faith (Christ’s death and resurrection) must always be specified in context, especially at 4:14.
Father
Approved rendering: आफा
Transliteration: afa
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: बाथौबुरै (reserve strictly for describing traditional belief, never for the biblical Father)
Original: πατήρ
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Occurs at 1 Thessalonians 1:1, 1:3, 3:11, 3:13.
Holy
Approved rendering: पबित्र
Transliteration: pobitro
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: साफ (physically clean, ritual-purity sense only)
Original: ἅγιος
Category: Sanctification
Inherited from Romans package. Occurs at 1 Thessalonians 2:10, 3:13, 4:4, 5:23.
Saints
Approved rendering: पबित्र मानुष
Transliteration: pobitro manwsw
Doctrine: The Return of Christ
Original: ἅγιοι
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package. Used at 1 Thessalonians 3:13 of the whole company accompanying Christ at his coming.
Sanctification
Approved rendering: पबित्रनाय
Transliteration: pobitronai
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: साफनाय (ritual cleansing, avoid as a substitute)
Original: ἁγιασμός
Category: Sanctification
Inherited from Romans package. Central to 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 and 5:23 (‘sanctify you completely’); distinct from the goal-state noun पबित्रता (see Section B, holiness_state).
Glory
Approved rendering: महिमा
Transliteration: mohima
Doctrine: Sanctification
Original: δόξα
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Occurs at 1 Thessalonians 2:12, 2:20.
Called
Approved rendering: फिनायाव
Transliteration: phinaiyao
Doctrine: Divine Election and Calling
Rejected alternatives: मिनतिनाय (a plea/invitation, too weak)
