Doctrine Analysis
Doctrine Analysis — Philippians (English → Bodo)
Purpose
This document provides the full doctrine matrix for the book of Philippians, chapters 1–4 in their entirety, extending the baseline Romans doctrine risk framework without contradiction. Every doctrine listed here is drawn from, and numerically consistent with, assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json (Philippians version): same 25 doctrines, same risk tiers, same review routing. This file organizes those same doctrines chapter-by-chapter and section-by-section across the whole book, per the PRD Phase 1 full-book-coverage mandate. Sections that introduce no new doctrinal risk are explicitly marked “reviewed — no new risk” rather than silently omitted.
Risk tier definitions follow the baseline exactly:
- Critical — Mistranslation alters or destroys essential doctrine. Human theologian review required, every occurrence.
- High — Mistranslation creates significant theological confusion or syncretism risk. Human theologian review required.
- Medium — Mistranslation reduces clarity but preserves essential meaning. Native speaker review recommended.
- Low — Mistranslation causes minor misunderstanding or imprecision. Automated review sufficient.
The core passage of this curriculum, Philippians 2:1–11, sits inside chapter 2 below and carries the single highest concentration of Critical-tier doctrine in the book (Incarnation/Kenosis, Deity of Christ, Lordship of Christ, Universal Confession and Exaltation). It is the theological anchor of the curriculum, not its scope boundary — full coverage of chapters 1, 3, and 4 follows in equal detail.
Chapter 1 (Philippians 1:1–30)
| Doctrine | Supporting Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Church Leadership and Service | 1:1 | Medium | ἐπίσκοπος/διάκονος (“overseer”/“deacon”) must read as pastoral service offices within the gathered assembly (मण्डलीनि देख्रोंगारि / सेबागारि), not as roles paralleling Bathou ritual specialists (doudini, ओझा). | Native speaker |
| Salutation baseline terms (God, Christ, Lord, saints, grace, peace) | 1:1–2 | Critical (baseline-governed) | Reviewed — no new risk. These reuse the Romans-baseline Critical terms (ईश्वर, मसीह, प्रभु, पबित्र मानुष, मोफादांनाय दान, सान्ति) exactly; no Philippians-specific deviation permitted. | Human theologian (per baseline enforcement) |
| Thanksgiving and Gratitude | 1:3–4 | Low | Standard grateful acknowledgment; minor risk of a ritual-thanks-offering reading. | Automated review |
| Partnership in the Gospel | 1:3–5, 1:7 | High | κοινωνία εἰς τὸ εὐαγγέλιον must read as shared gospel commitment, not reciprocal ritual exchange (do-ut-des) resembling Bathou/Kherai offering logic. | Human theologian |
| Assurance of God’s Completing Work | 1:6 | Medium | God’s ongoing faithfulness to finish his work must be relational assurance, not भागी-style impersonal fate. | Native speaker |
| Righteousness by Faith versus the Law (supporting) | 1:9–11 | High | καρπὸς δικαιοσύνης (“fruit of righteousness”) must be taught as flowing from, not earning, righteousness already reused from the baseline Critical धार्मिकता entry. | Human theologian |
| Gospel Proclamation amid Opposition | 1:12–18 | Medium | Rival preachers and imprisonment reframed as gospel advance; must not be heard as competition with Bathou/Brahma Dharma identity-preservation efforts. | Native speaker |
| Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment | 1:4, 1:18, 1:19–26 | High | ”To live is Christ, to die is gain” must convey joy grounded in Christ regardless of outcome, distinct from Kherai festival gaiety tied to a favorable ritual/harvest result. | Human theologian |
| Citizenship in Heaven | 1:27 | High | πολιτεύεσθε (“conduct yourselves as citizens”) anticipates 3:20; must not be read through the lens of Bodoland’s contemporary ethnic-territorial politics. | Human theologian |
| Unity and Humility in the Church | 1:27 | High | ”One spirit, one mind” (already introduced here, developed fully in ch. 2) must not be heard as communal trance-unity paralleling Kherai puja. | Human theologian |
| Suffering as Participation with Christ | 1:29–30 | High | Suffering “for Christ’s sake” must be purposeful gospel-participation, not fatalistic misfortune-acceptance. | Human theologian |
Chapter 1 summary: Every verse of chapter 1 has been reviewed. No section was silently omitted. Verses 1:1–2 and 1:8 (Paul’s affection, standard epistolary form) carry only baseline-governed Critical terms already fixed by the Romans translation memory and introduce no new Philippians-specific risk.
Chapter 2 (Philippians 2:1–30) — Core Passage Chapter
2:1–4 — Foundation for Unity
| Doctrine | Supporting Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unity and Humility in the Church | 2:1–2, 2:4 | High | φρονέω (“mindset”) must be a settled, willed Christlike disposition, not fleeting emotion or shared trance-consciousness. | Human theologian |
| Selfless Love and Others-Centered Service | 2:2–4 | Medium | ἀγάπη and “regard others as more important” must exclude reciprocal-exchange logic and clan/afad status deference. | Native speaker |
2:5–11 — The Kenosis Hymn (Core Passage: Highest-Risk Span in the Book)
| Doctrine | Supporting Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Incarnation and Self-Emptying of Christ (Kenosis) | 2:5–8 | Critical | ἑαυτὸν ἐκένωσεν (“emptied himself”) must convey voluntary self-limitation of status/glory while retaining full deity — never loss of divine nature, and never conflated with the Kherai doudini’s involuntary, temporary possession-filling. Mandatory theologian review every occurrence. | Human theologian |
| Deity of Christ | 2:6 | Critical | μορφή θεοῦ / ἴσα θεῷ (“form of God” / “equal with God”) must state full, uncompromised ontological equality; never softened to a great spirit-being among the Kherai pantheon. | Human theologian |
| Humanity of Christ | 2:7–8 | High | ὁμοίωμα ἀνθρώπων / σχῆμα must affirm genuine, permanent human nature, guarding against docetism and against the temporary, identity-receding state of a trance medium. | Human theologian |
| Obedience Modeled on Christ | 2:8 | High | ὑπήκοος μέχρι θανάτου (“obedient unto death”) must be relational, self-giving obedience to the Father, not Brahma Dharma’s structured rule-obedience ethic. | Human theologian |
| Lordship of Christ | 2:9–11 | Critical | ὑπερύψωσεν / κύριος must never use the forbidden elder-titles बर’ऐ/बुरहा, which would place Christ inside the Bathou pantheon as one great elder-spirit among several. | Human theologian |
| Universal Confession and Exaltation of Christ | 2:9–11 | Critical | ”Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess” is a totalizing, exclusive claim; must not be read as one ritual gesture owed among several to different spirit-beings, and the ἐπουράνιος/ἐπίγειος/καταχθόνιος totality-language must not validate the Bathou five-element cosmology. | Human theologian |
2:12–18 — Working Out Salvation, Joy in Sacrifice
| Doctrine | Supporting Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sanctification and Blameless Living | 2:12–15 | High | ”Work out your own salvation” (2:12) is vulnerable to a Brahma Dharma merit-reading; must always be paired with 2:13 (“God who works in you”) to preserve grace-priority. साफ (2:15, purity) must be distinguished from ritual-cleanliness usage. | Human theologian |
| Obedience Modeled on Christ | 2:12 | High | Continuation of the ch. 2 obedience pattern applied to believers. | Human theologian |
| Assurance of God’s Completing Work | 2:13, 2:16 | Medium | God’s internal working, and “the day of Christ,” require basic linear-eschatology teaching absent from Bathou/Brahma Dharma frameworks. | Native speaker |
| Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment | 2:17–18 | High | ”Poured out as a libation” metaphor (σπένδομαι) for joyful self-giving must be explicitly figurative, not read as literal offering to Bathoubwrai/Kherai pantheon. | Human theologian |
| Suffering as Participation with Christ | 2:17 | High | Paul’s self-offering language extends the participatory-suffering doctrine established in 1:29–30. | Human theologian |
2:19–24 — Timothy’s Commendation
Reviewed — no new doctrinal risk. This travel-plans section carries only the baseline-governed terms (Lord, gospel) already fixed by translation memory; it introduces no new theological category.
2:25–30 — Epaphroditus
| Doctrine | Supporting Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Church Leadership and Service | 2:25 | Medium | ἀπόστολος here is functional “messenger” (दूत/सोंग्रा), not the baseline’s technical Apostle office (गोदान जायगारि); flag to prevent conflation. | Native speaker |
| Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment | 2:28–29 | High | Joy at Epaphroditus’s recovery extends the chapter’s joy-amid-hardship doctrine. | Human theologian |
| Suffering as Participation with Christ | 2:30 | High | Near-death “for the work of Christ” is purposeful gospel-participation, not fatalistic risk-taking. | Human theologian |
Chapter 3 (Philippians 3:1–21)
| Doctrine | Supporting Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment | 3:1 | High | ”Rejoice in the Lord” reiterates the book’s joy doctrine at a structural turning point. | Human theologian |
| Righteousness by Faith versus the Law | 3:2–9 | Critical | Direct extension of baseline Romans-critical terms धार्मिकता/बिश्वास/बिथान; must never soften toward a law-plus-faith synthesis, a risk heightened by Brahma Dharma’s own reformed law-and-merit ethic. | Human theologian |
| Rejection of Confidence in the Flesh | 3:3–8 | Critical | Paul’s renunciation of lineage/ritual/law credentials must be distinguished from both Bathou/Kherai ritual-credential logic and Brahma Dharma’s merit-accumulation ethic; must read as the gospel’s own categorical claim, not one reform movement critiquing another. | Human theologian |
| Knowing Christ as Surpassing Value | 3:8–10 | High | Relational knowledge of Christ (γινώσκω/γνῶσις) must be distinguished from oracular, trance-mediated “knowledge” claimed via a doudini. | Human theologian |
| Suffering as Participation with Christ | 3:10 | High | κοινωνία παθημάτων (“fellowship of his sufferings”) continues the participatory-suffering doctrine. | Human theologian |
| Future Bodily Transformation (anticipatory) | 3:10–11 | Critical | The resurrection-power language anticipates 3:20–21; must retain bodily, historical, once-for-all resurrection sense (baseline जिउनाय सोलायनाय), never फिन जोनोम (rebirth). | Human theologian |
| Pressing on toward the Goal in Christ | 3:12–14 | High | διώκω/καταλαμβάνω: Christ has already “laid hold of” Paul, reversing 2:6’s ἁρπαγμός logic; pursuit is response to grace, not self-powered achievement — guard against Brahma Dharma merit-accumulation framing. | Human theologian |
| Assurance of God’s Completing Work | 3:12–14 | Medium | The “upward call” (baseline फिनायनि सिम) reinforces relational, not fate-based, assurance. | Native speaker |
| Pressing on toward the Goal in Christ (maturity) | 3:15–17 | High | τέλειος (“mature/perfect”) is relational maturity, not achieved moral perfection in a Brahma Dharma reform sense. | Human theologian |
| Rejection of Confidence in the Flesh (contrast); Citizenship in Heaven | 3:18–19 | High | ”Enemies of the cross… their god is their belly… minds set on earthly things” is a polemical foil; must not be rendered in a way that could echo Bathou/Kherai this-worldly-prosperity devotion (e.g., Mainao-style wealth-seeking) as a merely alternative, equally valid religious path. Flag as a new translation-risk note requiring explicit contrast framing. | Human theologian |
| Citizenship in Heaven | 3:20 | High | πολίτευμα must be taught as transcending — never erasing or politicizing — earthly ethnic/territorial identity, given the Bodoland Territorial Region’s live political context. Flag for theologian + native-speaker review together. | Human theologian |
| Future Bodily Transformation | 3:20–21 | Critical | μετασχηματίζω (“transform”) must be bodily, historical, once-for-all; never फिन जोनोम, and never a this-life ritual transformation achievable through Bathou/Kherai practice. | Human theologian |
| Deity of Christ; Lordship of Christ | 3:20–21 | Critical | σωτήρ (“Savior”) built on baseline फोरायग्रा/फोरायनाय; Christ’s transforming power ties directly to his full deity and supreme Lordship established in ch. 2. | Human theologian |
Chapter 3 summary: Fully reviewed start to finish. Verse 3:1’s transitional “finally” and the biographical catalogue of 3:5–6 (tribe of Benjamin, Pharisee, etc.) carry only supporting risk already captured under Rejection of Confidence in the Flesh; no separate doctrine entry is warranted beyond what is tabled above.
Chapter 4 (Philippians 4:1–23)
| Doctrine | Supporting Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unity and Humility in the Church | 4:1–3 | High | ”Stand firm,” and the appeal to Euodia and Syntyche to agree “in the Lord,” extend the ch. 2 unity doctrine into a concrete pastoral dispute. | Human theologian |
| Church Leadership and Service | 4:3 | Medium | σύζυγος (“fellow worker”/possible proper name) and “book of life” language require a textual-ambiguity note. | Native speaker |
| Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment | 4:4 | High | ”Rejoice in the Lord always” is the book’s climactic joy imperative. | Human theologian |
| Lordship of Christ | 4:5 | Critical | ”The Lord is at hand” (ὁ κύριος ἐγγύς) reuses the baseline Critical Lordship term; must retain exclusive, supreme sense, not a generic elder-deity’s proximity. | Human theologian |
| Prayer and the Peace of God | 4:6–7 | Medium | God’s transcendent peace, given in answer to prayer, must not collapse into self-achieved psychological calm nor be conflated with household protection sought through Bathou/Kherai offerings; φρουρέω (“guard”) needs a note distinguishing it from the baseline’s forbidden रैखाथि-as-salvation gloss. | Native speaker |
| Sanctification and Blameless Living (supporting) | 4:8–9 | Medium | The virtue list (“whatever is true… honorable…”) supports the sanctification doctrine already tabled at 2:12–15; no new Critical/High term is introduced here. Reviewed. | Native speaker |
| Contentment in All Circumstances | 4:10–13 | High | αὐτάρκης and μεμύημαι (“I have learned the secret”) must be distinguished from both Brahma Dharma ascetic detachment and fatalistic भागी-resignation. μεμύημαι specifically must NEVER be rendered with any term evoking ritual initiation — a forbidden-connotation risk given resonance with doudini Kherai-trance initiation training. | Human theologian |
| Partnership in the Gospel | 4:10, 4:14–15 | High | ”You shared in my trouble” and συγκοινωνέω extend the gospel-partnership doctrine from ch. 1 into material support. | Human theologian |
| Generosity and God’s Provision | 4:14–19 | Medium | δόσις καὶ λῆμψις (“giving and receiving”) is relational gospel-partnership, not payment-for-favor exchange; “riches in glory” must not be conflated with Mainao, the Kherai goddess of wealth/rice. | Native speaker |
| Partnership in the Gospel (cultic metaphor) | 4:18 | High | ὀσμὴ εὐωδίας / θυσία δεκτή (“fragrant offering… acceptable sacrifice”) is a metaphor for the Philippians’ financial gift; must be explicitly marked figurative, distinct from literal Bathou/Kherai sacrificial offerings. | Human theologian |
| Thanksgiving and Gratitude | 4:6, 4:20 | Low | Doxology (“to our God and Father be glory”) is standard grateful acknowledgment; reuses baseline महिमा/आफा terms. | Automated review |
Verses 4:21–23 (final greetings and grace benediction): Reviewed — no new doctrinal risk. These reuse only baseline-governed Critical terms (पबित्र मानुष, मोफादांनाय दान) already fixed by translation memory; the mention of “Caesar’s household” is a historical-cultural note requiring only a native-speaker context gloss, not a doctrine-risk entry.
Full-Book Risk Summary (Cross-Check against doctrine_risk_registry.json)

| Total doctrines | 25 | — |
This matches assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json exactly: same 25 doctrines, same tier counts, same review routing. No doctrine tier has been altered or reinterpreted in this chapter-by-chapter expansion.
Coverage confirmation: All four chapters of Philippians (1:1–4:23) have been walked verse-range by verse-range above. Every section either maps to a named doctrine in the registry or is explicitly marked “reviewed — no new risk.” No chapter or section has been silently omitted.
Highest-priority review cluster: Philippians 2:5–11, the kenosis hymn and core curriculum passage — every doctrine entry in this span is Critical risk and must never be scheduled for automated-only or native-speaker-only review.
This file must be loaded alongside analysis/08_core_glossary.md and assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json before Phase 2 segment translation begins on any Philippians lesson file.
Critical Risk Doctrines
The Incarnation and Self-Emptying of Christ (Kenosis)
Bodo name: मसीहनि मानसि गुदि सोलायनाय आरो गिबिनि महिमा गोहोम सोलायनाय
Key terms: form_of_god, self_emptying, form_of_a_servant, likeness_of_men, humbled_himself, obedient_unto_death
Review routing: Human theologian
This is the highest-risk doctrine in the curriculum. Christ’s voluntary self-limitation of outward glory while retaining full deity must be sharply distinguished from the Kherai puja’s doudini framework, in which a deity’s power fills and possesses a human medium — a filling, not an emptying; involuntary on the human side, not a voluntary divine act of self-giving. Bathouism’s own aniconic worship (no image represents Bathoubwrai) makes ‘form of God’ language doctrinally unfamiliar territory requiring ground-up teaching, exactly as the baseline treats Incarnation for Romans.
Deity of Christ
Bodo name: मसीहनि ईश्वरत्व
Key terms: form_of_god, equality_with_god, highly_exalted
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s full, uncompromised equality with God (ἴσα θεῷ) must never be softened into ‘a great spirit-being among the Kherai pantheon’ or an especially favored elder-spirit; this directly extends the baseline’s Critical Deity of Christ doctrine into Philippians’ most explicit Christological statement.
Lordship of Christ
Bodo name: मसीहनि प्रभुत्व
Key terms: lord, highly_exalted, confess_lordship, bow_the_knee
Review routing: Human theologian
Exclusive, supreme Lordship, exalted by the Father above every name. Must never be rendered with the honorific elder-titles बर’ऐ/बुरहा that would place Christ inside the existing Bathou pantheon as one great elder-spirit among several; this reuses and reinforces the baseline’s Critical Lordship-of-Christ doctrine.
Universal Confession and Exaltation of Christ
Bodo name: मसीहनि सर्बजुथुद स्वीकारनाय आरो उन्नतनाय
Key terms: bow_the_knee, cosmic_totality, confess_lordship
Review routing: Human theologian
Every knee bowing and every tongue confessing is a totalizing, exclusive claim. Similar prostration gestures already exist before Bathoubwrai/the sijou plant and within Kherai ritual, so this must be taught as Christ’s singular lordship over all reality — not one ritual gesture owed among several to different spirit-beings, and not a validation of the Bathou five-element cosmology evoked by ‘earthly/heavenly/under the earth’ language.
Righteousness by Faith versus the Law
Bodo name: बिथाननि नङा बिश्वासनि सोलглавाव धार्मिकता
Key terms: righteousness, law, faith, confidence_in_flesh
Review routing: Human theologian
Directly reuses the baseline’s Romans-critical terms धार्मिकता/बिश्वास/बिथान. The sharp forensic contrast between righteousness from law and righteousness through faith in Christ must never soften toward a law-plus-faith synthesis, a risk heightened by Brahma Dharma’s own reformed law-and-merit ethic.
Rejection of Confidence in the Flesh
Bodo name: गुदिनि जायगाव बिश्वास लानायखौ रोखाबनाय
Key terms: confidence_in_flesh, circumcision, loss, rubbish
Review routing: Human theologian
Paul’s explicit renunciation of lineage, ritual, and law-keeping credentials must be sharply distinguished from both the traditional Bathou/Kherai pattern of ritual credentials securing favor and Brahma Dharma’s merit-accumulation ethic, so that the doctrine is not heard as one reform movement’s self-critique but as the gospel’s own categorical rejection of all human-credential righteousness.
Future Bodily Transformation
Bodo name: गुदिनि उनाव सोलायनाय
Key terms: transformed_body, glorious_body, savior
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s future transformation of believers’ bodies at his return must be taught as bodily, historical, once-for-all — never as फिन जोनोम, the rebirth/reincarnation vocabulary the baseline forbids for resurrection, and never as a this-life ritual transformation achievable through Bathou/Kherai practice.
High Risk Doctrines
Humanity of Christ
Bodo name: मसीहनि मानसि जोरा
Key terms: likeness_of_men, outward_form, form_of_a_servant
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s full, real humanity (ὁμοίωμα/σχῆμα) must not be diluted into a temporary spirit-medium’s altered state as in Kherai trance possession, where the human host’s own identity recedes during the ritual; the incarnation is genuine, permanent human nature, not a temporary vessel.
Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment
Bodo name: दुख आरो साकोलनायनि सिङाव आनन्द
Key terms: joy, chains_imprisonment, to_live_is_christ_to_die_is_gain
Review routing: Human theologian
Joy commanded regardless of circumstance must be distinguished from the communal festival gaiety of Kherai puja celebrations honoring Mainao (goddess of wealth/rice), which is tied to a successful harvest-ritual outcome; biblical joy in Philippians is grounded in Christ even amid, not because of the absence of, suffering.
Suffering as Participation with Christ
Bodo name: मसीहनि दुखनि गोसो जोंथानाय
Key terms: suffering, fellowship_of_sufferings, poured_out_as_libation
Review routing: Human theologian
Suffering for Christ must be taught as purposeful, redemptive participation in Christ’s own pattern, not a fatalistic acceptance of misfortune (भागी-style fate-acceptance already flagged Critical-adjacent for providence/election in the baseline).
Unity and Humility in the Church
Bodo name: मण्डलीनि गोसोमोन आरो गोहोम गोसोनाय
Key terms: mindset, humility, one_in_spirit, regard_as_greater
Review routing: Human theologian
A settled, willed Christlike disposition (φρονέω) and humility (ταπεινοφροσύνη) must not be conflated with the shared altered-consciousness state of communal trance participation in Kherai puja, nor read as social self-deprecation tied to clan/afad status, nor assimilated to Brahma Dharma’s disciplined self-restraint pursued for merit.
Knowing Christ as Surpassing Value
Bodo name: मसीहखौ सानां खालामनायनि गोजौ मुल्य
Key terms: knowledge_of_christ, power_of_resurrection, fellowship_of_sufferings
Review routing: Human theologian
Relational knowledge of Christ gained through faith and ongoing discipleship must be distinguished from oracular or trance-mediated ‘knowledge’ claimed via a doudini during Kherai puja.
Contentment in All Circumstances
Bodo name: गासैबो अवस्थायाव सन्तुष्टि
Key terms: content, learned_the_secret, strengthened_by_christ
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ-sourced contentment must be distinguished from both Brahma Dharma’s ascetic detachment/renunciation ethic and a fatalistic, resigned भागी-style acceptance of circumstance. In addition, ‘I have learned the secret’ (4:12) must never be rendered with any Bodo term evoking ritual initiation, since the literal Greek mystery-cult ‘initiation’ sense would otherwise resonate dangerously with a doudini’s ritual training/initiation into Kherai trance practice — this is a forbidden-connotation risk distinct in kind from the doctrine’s other risks.
Citizenship in Heaven
Bodo name: स्वर्गनि नागरिकता
Key terms: citizenship_in_heaven, conduct_as_citizens, savior, transformed_body
Review routing: Human theologian
Given the Bodoland Territorial Region’s strong contemporary association of Bodo ethnic identity with territorial-political belonging, this doctrine must be taught as heavenly citizenship transcending — without erasing or politicizing — any earthly ethnic or territorial identity. Flag for theologian and native-speaker review together, as with the baseline’s kingdom-of-God caution.
Partnership in the Gospel
Bodo name: मंगल खबरनि गोसो जोंथानाय
Key terms: partnership_in_gospel, share_together, giving_and_receiving, fragrant_offering
Review routing: Human theologian
The Philippians’ material and spiritual partnership with Paul’s ministry flows from shared gospel commitment; this must resist the reciprocal-exchange (do-ut-des) logic already flagged for grace in the baseline, especially given commercial-sounding vocabulary (‘giving and receiving’) and cultic-sacrifice metaphors (‘fragrant offering’) that could otherwise be read as literal Bathou/Kherai ritual exchange.
Pressing on toward the Goal in Christ
Bodo name: मसीहाव लक्ष्यनि थाखाय फिदोमनाय
Key terms: press_on, lay_hold_of, goal, mature_perfect
Review routing: Human theologian
Paul’s determined pursuit is pursuit of a goal Christ has already secured (Christ ‘laid hold of’ Paul, reversing the ἁρπαγμός logic of 2:6), not a self-powered achievement project; must guard against assimilation into Brahma Dharma’s merit-accumulation and self-improvement framework, and ‘goal’ (σκοπός) must remain explicitly Christ-ward rather than a generic self-help target.
Sanctification and Blameless Living
Bodo name: पबित्रनाय आरो दोष गैया जीबन जीनाय
Key terms: blameless_pure, children_of_god, god_who_works_in_you
Review routing: Human theologian
‘Work out your own salvation’ (2:12) is especially vulnerable to a merit-reading shaped by Brahma Dharma’s merit ethic; it must always be taught alongside 2:13 (‘God who works in you’) to preserve grace-priority, and साफ (moral purity, 2:15) must be distinguished from the ritual-cleanliness sense the baseline reserves साफ for in Bathou/Kherai contexts.
Obedience Modeled on Christ
Bodo name: मसीहनि गुदिखौ मानोन
Key terms: obedient_unto_death, god_who_works_in_you
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s relational, self-giving obedience to the Father, extending to death, is the pattern for believers’ own obedience; this must be distinguished from Brahma Dharma’s structured rule-obedience ethic, as already flagged for the baseline’s ‘obedience of faith’ doctrine.
Medium Risk Doctrines
Selfless Love and Others-Centered Service
Bodo name: गिबिनि थाखाय नङा गिबिनि उदैसारनि थाखाय मोसानाय
Key terms: love, consider_others_interests, selfish_ambition
Review routing: Native speaker
Self-giving agape without expectation of return must be distinguished from the reciprocal, exchange-based devotion pattern of traditional Bathou/Kherai offerings, per the baseline’s existing caution on grace.
Church Leadership and Service
Bodo name: मण्डलीनि देख्रोंगारि आरो सेबागारि खान्थि
Key terms: overseer, deacon, messenger, servant_bondservant
Review routing: Native speaker
Overseer, deacon, and messenger are pastoral and service offices within the gathered assembly; these must be distinguished from Bathou ritual-specialist roles (the doudini oracle, the ओझा folk ritual specialist), and Epaphroditus’s ‘messenger’ role at 2:25 must not be conflated with the baseline’s technical Apostle office.
Prayer and the Peace of God
Bodo name: बिनयनाय आरो ईश्वरनि सान्ति
Key terms: anxious, prayer_and_petition, peace_surpassing_understanding, guard
Review routing: Native speaker
God’s transcendent peace, given in answer to prayer, must not collapse into psychological calm achieved by one’s own effort, nor be conflated with the household harmony and protection from misfortune traditionally sought through Bathou/Kherai offerings; the guarding verb (φρουρέω) requires a translator note distinguishing its ordinary ‘protection’ sense from the baseline’s forbidden रैखाथि-as-salvation gloss.
Generosity and God’s Provision
Bodo name: दानगैनाय आरो ईश्वरनि जोगार होनाय
Key terms: giving_and_receiving, riches, supply, fragrant_offering
Review routing: Native speaker
Giving/receiving language is relational gospel-partnership, not payment-for-favor exchange; God’s ‘riches in glory’ must not be conflated with Mainao, the Kherai pantheon’s goddess of wealth and rice invoked for material prosperity in traditional practice.
Gospel Proclamation amid Opposition
Bodo name: रोखाबनायनि गैরাংनाव मंगल खबर सोमोन्दो होनाय
Key terms: boldness, gospel, chains_imprisonment
Review routing: Native speaker
Rival preachers and opposition are reframed as occasions for gospel advance, not confrontation; care is needed that this not be read as competition with the Bathou or Brahma Dharma communities’ own contemporary identity-preservation and reform efforts, echoing the baseline’s caution for the evangelism doctrine.
Assurance of God’s Completing Work
Bodo name: ईश्वरा दैनांनाय बानायनि निश्चय
Key terms: day_of_christ, god_who_works_in_you, press_on
Review routing: Native speaker
Confidence that God who began the work in believers will complete it must be taught as relational assurance grounded in God’s own character, not as an impersonal भागी-style fate assurance, echoing the baseline’s providence-doctrine caution.
Low Risk Doctrines
Thanksgiving and Gratitude
Bodo name: धिनानाय
Key terms: thanksgiving
Review routing: Automated review
Standard grateful acknowledgment of God’s goodness; minor risk of being read as ritual thanks-offering language rather than heartfelt gratitude, per the baseline’s existing thanksgiving note.
