Semantic Analysis

Semantic Analysis — Jude (Koine Greek → Bodo)

Curriculum: Jude Core passage: Jude 1:3–23 Full-book coverage mandate: Jude is a single-chapter, 25-verse epistle. Full-book coverage therefore means every verse of the one chapter, not merely the core passage. This document treats Jude 1:3–23 verse-by-verse (the core passage) and then explicitly treats the remaining verses of the same chapter — the salutation (1:1–2) and the closing doxology (1:24–25) — with the same field structure, so that “every chapter first to last” is satisfied for a one-chapter book.

All renderings already fixed in the baseline Romans translation_memory.json are reused exactly and are marked “(reused from Romans TM).” New terms required for Jude’s distinct vocabulary are proposed below using the same descriptive-compound methodology the baseline itself established for conceptual gaps, and are marked “(NEW — provisional, pending Bodo-speaking theologian confirmation)” where the baseline’s own caveat about Bodo’s less-settled doctrinal vocabulary applies.

0. Book Overview

Author: Ἰούδας (Jude/Judas), a δοῦλος (“servant/slave”) of Jesus Christ and ἀδελφὸς Ἰακώβου (“brother of James”), traditionally identified as a half-brother of Jesus and of James the Just — not the apostle Judas.

Occasion: A short, urgent letter written to warn a church community that ungodly false teachers had “crept in” (παρεισέδυσαν, v.4), perverting grace into license and denying Christ’s exclusive lordship. Jude abandons his original intended topic (“our common salvation,” v.3) to issue this warning instead.

Structure: Salutation (1:1–2) → occasion and appeal to contend for the faith (1:3–4) → three Old Testament/intertestamental warning examples: Israel in the wilderness, the fallen angels, Sodom and Gomorrah (1:5–7) → description of the false teachers and further types: Cain, Balaam, Korah, plus the dispute of Michael and the devil over Moses’ body (1:8–13) → the prophecy of Enoch (1:14–16) → the apostles’ prediction of scoffers (1:17–19) → positive pastoral instruction: build yourselves up, pray, keep yourselves, wait for mercy, have mercy on others (1:20–23) → closing doxology (1:24–25).

Special translation-relevant notes for the whole book:

  1. Jude quotes 1 Enoch 1:9 directly as prophecy (v.14–15) and alludes to a non-canonical tradition (probably the Assumption of Moses) regarding the dispute over Moses’ body (v.9). Translators/teachers must be prepared to explain that Jude’s citation of these traditions as illustrative and authoritative in that instance does not equate them with the canon of Scripture; this is a genuine catechetical point that has no ready parallel in either the Bathou oral-tradition context or the Brahma Dharma reform-literature context, both of which the baseline package already flags as unfamiliar with a fixed, closed category of “scripture” (cf. baseline doctrine inspiration_of_scripture).
  2. Jude is saturated with vivid nature and cosmic imagery (waterless clouds, fruitless trees, wild waves, wandering stars, eternal chains, gloomy darkness) used polemically against the false teachers. These images must be rendered so they read as moral indictment, not as literal Bathou-style nature-spirit language (given that Bathouism’s five sijou elements — ha/earth, dwi/water, bar/air, or/fire, okhrang/sky — already invest natural elements with religious significance in the target culture).
  3. Jude’s central theological through-line is the verb τηρέω (“to keep/guard/preserve”) and its cognate φυλάσσω, occurring at both ends of the letter (v.1, v.6, v.13, v.21, v.24) and binding together the doctrines “Kept by God and Presented Blameless” and “Doxology and God’s Preserving Power.” Translation consistency for this root across the whole book is treated as a Critical-tier requirement, parallel to the baseline’s treatment of Romans 8:28 and 10:9.

1. Core Passage Verse-by-Verse Analysis: Jude 1:3–23

Jude 1:3

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningBodo Rendering & Risk
Ἀγαπητοί
agapētoi
”loved ones”
term of affectionate address among believers
”beloved,” “dear friends”
Jude addresses the church with covenantal affection before issuing a warningप्रेम होनाय मानुष (prem honai manwsw) — NEW, provisional. Risk: High. Built on प्रेम (see below); must convey covenantal, church-family affection, not generic politeness.
σωτηρία
sōtēria
”deliverance, rescue”
salvation, preservation from danger
”salvation"
"our common salvation” — the shared deliverance in Christ that both writer and readers possessफोरायनाय (phoraynai) — reused from Romans TM. Risk: Critical (per baseline; conceptual gap for Bathou/Brahma Dharma audiences, must be taught, not assumed).
ἐπαγωνίζεσθαι
epagōnizesthai
”to contend/struggle upon/intensely” (root of “agony”)
vigorous, costly striving in defense of something; agonistic contest imagery (athletic/combat)
“contend earnestly,” “fight for,” “struggle for”
The letter’s thesis verb: believers must actively, vigorously defend the received faith against corruption, not merely hold it passivelyबिश्वासनि थाखाय जुझनाय (biswasni thakhai jhujnai, “to fight/struggle for the faith”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: Critical. This is the thesis verb of the whole epistle (doctrine: Contending for the Faith Once Delivered) and must convey active, costly, vigorous struggle — not passive assent, not mere ritual observance, and not the kind of ritual/trance “spiritual struggle” associated with a doudini’s mediumistic engagement with the Kherai pantheon. Must be explicitly taught as non-violent doctrinal contention, not physical combat.
ἅπαξ
hapax
”once, one time”
a single, unrepeatable, completed occurrence (contrasted with repeated ritual action)
“once for all,” “once”
Modifies “delivered” — the faith was entrusted in a single, complete, closed transmissionमोनसे बार (monse bar, “one time / once for all”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: High. Must convey finality and non-repeatability, in explicit contrast to the recurring seasonal character of Bathou/Kherai ritual observance and to Brahma Dharma’s posture of an ongoing, still-developing reform.
παραδοθείσῃ
paradotheisē
”having been handed over/delivered/entrusted”
transmission of a fixed body of teaching from one party to another; aorist passive, one-time completed action
”delivered,” “entrusted,” “handed down”
The apostolic faith was completely and finally entrusted to the church; nothing more is to be addedRendered as part of the composite doctrinal phrase below. Risk: Critical.
”the faith once (for all) delivered to the saints” (ἅπαξ παραδοθείσῃ τοῖς ἁγίοις πίστει) — composite doctrinal phrase
hapax paradotheisē tois hagiois pistei
”the faith having been handed over once to the holy ones”

“the faith once delivered to the saints”
The thesis phrase of the entire book, doctrinally parallel in weight to Romans 1:16–17 in the baseline packageपबित्र मानुषखौ मोनसे बार होजाबाय बिश्वास (pobitro manwswkhow monse bar hojabai biswas) — NEW, provisional, Risk: Critical. Must be rendered identically every time it recurs across curriculum documents (per the baseline’s cross-document consistency rule for thesis statements). Must resist two culturally live misreadings: (a) that the faith is a renewable ritual inheritance like seasonal Bathou/Kherai observance, and (b) that it is an evolving reform project like Brahma Dharma’s.
ἁγίοις
hagiois
”holy ones”
set-apart believers, corporate designation
”saints,” “holy ones”
The universal church, recipients of the entrusted faithपबित्र मानुषreused from Romans TM. Risk: High.
πίστις
pistis
”trust, belief, that which is believed”
(here) the body of belief/doctrine entrusted to the church, distinct from “faith” as personal trust
”faith,” “the faith,” “the body of doctrine”
Shifts here from personal trust (Romans’ usual sense) to an objective deposit of apostolic teaching — a distinct sense the curriculum must flagबिश्वासreused from Romans TM, Risk: High. TRANSLATOR NOTE: in this verse बिश्वास denotes the content handed down (fides quae creditur), not merely personal trust (fides qua creditur) as in Romans 1:17; teaching materials must distinguish these two senses explicitly.

Jude 1:4

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningBodo Rendering & Risk
παρεισέδυσαν
pareisedysan
”slipped in secretly/stealthily”
covert, unnoticed infiltration
”crept in,” “slipped in unnoticed”
The false teachers entered the community by stealth, not open confrontationDescriptive: गुपियारै सोमजानाय (gupiyarai somjanai, “entering secretly”) — NEW, Risk: Medium.
προγεγραμμένοι
progegrammenoi
”having been written/marked out beforehand”
designated in advance for a stated outcome
”marked out beforehand,” “designated,” “predestined [for condemnation]“
These teachers’ judgment is not novel — it was determined in advance, consistent with the OT type-examples that followDescriptive: आगे थानि सोलायार सायख जानाय (“marked out beforehand”) — NEW, Risk: High. Must not be flattened into भागी (impersonal fate, already forbidden by baseline for election/providence); this is God’s specific, purposive foreknowledge of judgment upon specific persons, not an impersonal cosmic determinism.
κρίμα
krima
”judgment, verdict, sentence”
a legal/forensic pronouncement of condemnation
”judgment,” “condemnation,” “sentence”
The specific judgment/condemnation awaiting the ungodlyईश्वरनि बिसार (Isornni bisar, “God’s judgment/verdict”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: High. Doctrine: Judgment on Ungodly False Teachers.
ἀσεβεῖς
asebeis
”impious, irreverent, without reverence for God”
living in active disregard/defiance of God, not mere ritual impurity
”ungodly,” “impious,” “godless”
The defining character of the false teachers throughout Jude — willful irreverence toward God, not simply moral weaknessईश्वरनि बिरोधी (Isornni birodhi, “one opposed to/against God”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: Critical. Must be kept distinct from अधर्मी (a dharma-root word), which the baseline already flags as risky (see righteousness, law entries) because it could collapse this concept into Brahma Dharma’s own reformed-conduct-code violation rather than the biblical sense of defiant irreverence toward the personal God.
χάρις
charis
”unmerited favor, gift”
God’s saving favor given apart from merit
”grace”
The very grace of God, here being deliberately twisted into a license for sinमोफादांनाय दानreused from Romans TM. Risk: Critical.
μετατιθέντες
metatithentes
”turning, changing, transferring”
perverting something from its proper use to an illegitimate one
”perverting,” “turning into,” “twisting”
The false teachers deliberately misapply grace as a pretext for licenseसोलायनाय (solainai, reusing the “turn/change” root already used in Romans TM’s resurrection term) — NEW, Risk: High, tied to the Critical grace doctrine. TRANSLATOR NOTE: this passage is a designated escalation trigger per the AI instruction set (grace contrasted with license/works).
ἀσέλγεια
aselgeia
”unrestrained sensuality, debauchery”
licentious, unchecked moral indulgence
”sensuality,” “licentiousness,” “debauchery”
The illegitimate destination to which grace is being pervertedउदंडता (udandata, “unrestrained/licentious behavior”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: High.
δεσπότης
despotēs
”master, absolute owner/sovereign”
one who possesses total, proprietary authority over another (stronger than generic “lord”)
“Master,” “Sovereign Lord,” “Owner”
Paired with κύριος to intensify the affirmation of Christ’s absolute, exclusive authority — precisely what the false teachers denyमालिक (malik, “owner/master”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: Critical. Must be distinguished from the honorific elder-titles (बर’ऐ/बुरहा) the baseline already forbids for κύριος; paired here with प्रभु, the doubled title must intensify (not dilute) the sense of Christ’s sole, absolute ownership-authority — never one great elder-spirit among the Bathou/Kherai pantheon.
κύριος
kyrios
”lord, master”
exclusive supreme authority
”Lord”
Christ’s supreme lordship, denied by the false teachersप्रभुreused from Romans TM. Risk: Critical.
ἀρνούμενοι
arnoumenoi
”denying, disowning”
active repudiation, not mere doubt
”denying,” “disowning,” “renouncing”
The false teachers’ practical unbelief expressed through immoral living, effectively disowning Christ’s authority even while remaining within the communityDescriptive: मानोन गैर होनाय (“refusing to acknowledge/obey”) — NEW, Risk: High.

Jude 1:5

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningBodo Rendering & Risk
Ὑπομνῆσαι
hypomnēsai
”to remind”
calling something already known back to memory
”to remind,” “to remember”
Jude appeals to shared knowledge of Israel’s history rather than introducing new material — but see risk noteDescriptive: मोन खालामनाय (mon khalamnai, “to bring to memory”) — NEW, Risk: Low. TRANSLATOR NOTE: since baseline Romans TM already flags low Old Testament narrative literacy among the target audience, Jude’s assumption of shared knowledge (Israel, Sodom, Cain, Balaam, Korah) cannot be assumed for this audience and must be supplied via teaching notes, not left implicit.
Αἴγυπτος
Aigyptos
”Egypt”
proper name
”Egypt”
The place of Israel’s deliverance, setting up the first OT type of judgment after rescueमिसर (Misor) — NEW, standard transliteration. Risk: Low.
σώσας
sōsas
”having saved/rescued”
deliverance from danger, here the Exodus rescue
”saved,” “rescued”
God’s initial saving act toward Israel — the same divine action-verb family as σωτηρία (v.3)Root shared with फोरायनाय — Risk: High, since this is the OT type-example undergirding the doctrine “Old Testament Warnings as Types,” must be taught as a real historical rescue, not folded into a fate-based deliverance narrative.
πιστεύσαντας
pisteusantas
”having believed”
trusting God’s word/promise
”believed,” “had faith”
Contrasts the believing generation that was delivered from Egypt with the later unbelieving generation destroyed in the wildernessRoot shared with बिश्वास — Risk: High (reused root).
ἀπώλεσεν
apōlesen
”destroyed”
to bring to ruin, cause to perish; final, not merely temporary
”destroyed,” “did away with”
God’s judgment on unbelieving Israel after their rescue — establishes that past deliverance does not preclude later judgment for unbeliefनष्ट होनाय (nasto honai, “to be destroyed”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: High. Doctrine: OT Warnings as Types / Judgment on Ungodly False Teachers. Must convey final, God-executed destruction, not a temporary misfortune addressed by ritual appeasement.

Jude 1:6

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningBodo Rendering & Risk
ἄγγελος
angelos
”messenger”
created spiritual being serving God; in NT usage, a specific class of created beings distinct from God and from humans
”angel”
Second OT/intertestamental type: angels who abandoned their proper position are now held for judgmentस्वर्गदूत (sworgodut, “heavenly messenger”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: High. Must be sharply distinguished from देउ, the generic term for the many nature-spirits and ancestral spirits recognized in Bathou practice and invoked through Kherai puja (already forbidden by baseline for Holy Spirit); biblical angels are specific created beings under God’s singular authority, accountable to him, not members of an independent spirit-pantheon that can be petitioned or appeased.
τηρήσαντας (negated)
mē tērēsantas
”not having kept/guarded”
failing to maintain an assigned position/domain
”did not keep,” “abandoned”
The angels failed to keep their proper station — first occurrence of the τηρέω root turned negative (contrast with God’s positive keeping in vv.1,21,24)राखनाय (rakhnai, “to keep/guard/preserve”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: Critical. This is the letter’s central recurring verb (see Book Overview note 3); here used negatively of the angels’ failure, it sets up the positive uses later (God keeps believers; believers must keep themselves). Consistency of this root across all five occurrences (vv.1, 6 [×2], 13, 21, 24) is a Critical-tier cross-document requirement.
ἀρχή
archē
”rule, domain, position of authority”
assigned sphere of authority or origin/rank
”position,” “domain,” “rule”
The angels’ proper sphere of authority, which they abandonedDescriptive: बे सोरनि हुदा (“their own [assigned] position”) — NEW, Risk: Medium.
οἰκητήριον
oikētērion
”dwelling place, habitation”
proper abode/place of residence
”dwelling,” “proper home”
The angels left their proper heavenly dwellingDescriptive: बे सोरनि थानाय जायगा (“their own dwelling place”) — NEW, Risk: Low.
κρίσις
krisis
”judgment”
forensic verdict/decision
”judgment”
The great eschatological day of judgment awaiting the fallen angelsईश्वरनि बिसार — same root as κρίμα above. Risk: High.
δεσμοῖς ἀϊδίοις
desmois aidiois
”with eternal chains/bonds”
permanent, unbreakable restraint
”eternal chains,” “everlasting bonds”
The fallen angels are currently held in permanent restraint awaiting final judgmentDescriptive: जायगानि गैर चेनजों बानाय (“bound with never-ending chains”) — NEW, Risk: Medium, imagery term.
ζόφος
zophos
”gloom, darkness”
thick, murky darkness associated with judgment/the abyss
”darkness,” “gloom,” “blackness”
The place of the angels’ present confinementDescriptive: मोदोम सिथाल (“thick darkness”) — NEW, Risk: Low, recurs in v.13.
τετήρηκεν
tetērēken
”has kept/reserved”
perfect tense — a completed action with ongoing present result
”has kept,” “has reserved”
God himself is the one actively keeping the fallen angels in restraint — a judicial, not custodial-only, use of the τηρέω rootराखनाय — same Critical-tier root as above.

Jude 1:7

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningBodo Rendering & Risk
Σόδομα καὶ Γόμορρα
Sodoma kai Gomorra
proper names
the OT cities destroyed for grievous sin
”Sodom and Gomorrah”
Third OT type-example: cities under God’s judgment for sexual immoralityसदोम आरो गमोरा (Sodom aro Gomora) — NEW, standard transliteration. Risk: Medium. Given low OT narrative literacy (per baseline), the Genesis 19 background must be actively taught, not assumed. Doctrine: OT Warnings as Types.
ἐκπορνεύσασαι
ekporneusasai
”having committed sexual immorality”
fornication, sexual sin in a comprehensive sense
”gave themselves to sexual immorality,” “indulged in gross immorality”
Names the specific sin for which Sodom and Gomorrah are judgedव्यभिचार (bebhichar) — NEW, provisional. Risk: High. Must convey moral transgression before a holy God, not merely a social/honor-based taboo.
σαρκὸς ἑτέρας
sarkos heteras
”other/strange flesh”
sexual conduct violating the created order
”unnatural desire,” “strange flesh,” “perverted sexual desire”
Intensifies the previous term, specifying the perverse nature of the sinRendered contextually within व्यभिचार above; गुदि (gudi, “flesh/body,” reusing the incarnation term’s root) may be added descriptively. Risk: High.
δεῖγμα
deigma
”example, sample”
a visible instance held up for instruction/warning
”example,” “warning example”
Sodom and Gomorrah stand as a perpetual warning-example of judgmentउदाहरण (udahoron) — NEW, common Sanskrit/Assamese loan. Risk: Low.
πυρὸς αἰωνίου
pyros aiōniou
”of eternal fire”
permanent, unending judgment-fire
”eternal fire,” “everlasting fire”
The abiding, ongoing character of the judgment on Sodom — a preview of final judgmentअनन्त ओर (anonto or, “eternal fire” — ओर is the Bodo term for fire, already present in the baseline’s description of the sijou plant’s five elements; अनन्त is a Sanskrit loan for “eternal”) — NEW, provisional. Risk: High. TRANSLATOR NOTE: because ओर (fire) is one of the sijou plant’s five elemental branches in Bathou cosmology, this phrase must be explicitly taught as final divine judgment, not an elemental/nature-spirit reference.
δίκην ὑπέχουσαι
dikēn hypechousai
”undergoing punishment”
bearing a legal penalty
”suffering punishment,” “undergoing punishment”
The cities continue, in their ruined state, to exemplify ongoing judgmentDescriptive: दंड लाबोनाय (“undergoing/bearing punishment”) — NEW, Risk: Medium.

Jude 1:8

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningBodo Rendering & Risk
ἐνυπνιαζόμενοι
enypniazomenoi
”dreaming”
acting on visionary/dream-based claims, possibly self-authorizing revelatory experience
”dreamers,” “relying on their dreams/visions”
The false teachers claim visionary authority for their immoral conductDescriptive: लोम खालामनायजों (“by [their] dreams”) — NEW, Risk: Medium. TRANSLATOR NOTE: potential collision with the doudini’s trance/vision experience during Kherai puja; must be framed as a false, self-serving claim to revelation, explicitly not equivalent to genuine biblical prophetic experience.
σάρκα μιαίνουσιν
sarka miainousin
”defile the flesh”
moral/sexual defilement of the body
”defile their bodies/flesh”
Continues the sexual-immorality theme from v.7गुदि गंदा खालामनाय (“defiling the flesh/body”) — NEW, Risk: Medium, reusing गुदि root.
κυριότητα
kyriotēta
”lordship, dominion, authority”
a governing authority/rank (here likely angelic authorities, or by extension Christ’s own lordship)
“authority,” “dominion,” “lordship”
The false teachers reject legitimate governing authority — echoing their denial of Christ’s lordship in v.4प्रभुत्व (probhutwo) — NEW, provisional, but built on the already-established baseline root प्रभु. Risk: High.
ἀθετοῦσιν
athetousin
”reject, set aside, treat as invalid”
active repudiation of legitimate authority
”reject,” “despise,” “set at nought”
Their practical rejection of proper authorityDescriptive: मानोन गैर होनाय — same as ἀρνούμενοι family. Risk: High.
δόξας
doxas
”glories” (plural)
here, glorious/dignified beings — likely a reference to angelic beings of rank
”glorious ones,” “celestial beings,” “dignitaries”
The false teachers slander angelic beings they neither understand nor fear — a mark of their presumptionDescriptive: महिमामयी स्वर्गदूत (“glorious heavenly beings”) — NEW, Risk: High. Unusual grammatical usage (abstract noun for a class of beings); requires an explanatory teaching note distinct from the baseline’s singular abstract use of महिमा for God’s own glory.
βλασφημοῦσιν
blasphēmousin
”blaspheme, revile, slander”
speaking contemptuously against a superior/sacred reality
”blaspheme,” “slander,” “revile”
The false teachers’ presumptuous, irreverent speech against realities they should fearनिन्दा खालामनाय (ninda khalamnai) — NEW, provisional. Risk: High.

Jude 1:9

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningBodo Rendering & Risk
Μιχαὴλ ὁ ἀρχάγγελος
Michaēl ho archangelos
”Michael the chief-messenger”
proper name + title of highest angelic rank
”Michael the archangel”
Contrasts Michael’s restraint with the false teachers’ reckless presumption — even the highest angel does not revile the devil directlyमीखाएल प्रधान स्वर्गदूत (Mikhael prodhan sworgodut) — NEW, standard transliteration + descriptive title. Risk: Low.
διάβολος
diabolos
”slanderer, accuser”
the chief personal spiritual adversary of God and humanity
”the devil,” “Satan”
Named directly as a real, personal, hostile spiritual being with whom even an archangel must reckon carefullyशैतान (Saitan) — NEW, common transliteration attested in regional South Asian Christian usage. Risk: Critical. Must be taught as a specific, definitively hostile personal adversary of God — distinct from the more ambivalent, appeasable spirit-beings (देउ) of the Bathou/Kherai pantheon, which are neither uniformly good nor uniformly evil in traditional belief.
διακρινόμενος διελέγετο
diakrinomenos dielegeto
”disputing, he argued/reasoned”
formal argument/contention between two parties
”disputed,” “contended,” “argued”
Michael’s formal dispute with the devil — note: a different sense of διακρίνω from v.22 below (contextual sensitivity required, parallel to baseline’s treatment of κλητός)तर्क खालामनाय (torko khalamnai, “to argue/dispute”) — NEW, Risk: Medium. TRANSLATOR NOTE: distinguish this “formal dispute” sense from the “wavering/doubting” sense of the same Greek root in v.22 — do not use the same Bodo word for both senses.
Μωϋσῆς
Mōusēs
proper name
Moses, the OT lawgiver
”Moses”
The subject of the dispute — an allusion to a non-canonical tradition about the burial/body of Mosesमूसा (Musa) — NEW, transliteration following regional convention; verify against a current printed Bodo Bible before finalizing. Risk: Low.
σῶμα
sōma
”body”
physical body

ἐτόλμησεν
etolmēsen
”dared”
to have courage/boldness to do something (here, negated)
“dared [not]“
Michael’s restraint — he did not presume to revile the devil on his own authorityDescriptive: गोबां जाया (“did not dare”) — NEW, Risk: Low.
κρίσιν…βλασφημίας
krisin…blasphēmias
”a judgment of blasphemy/reviling”
an accusatory, reviling verdict pronounced on one’s own authority
”a reviling accusation,” “a slanderous judgment”
What Michael refused to pronounce against the devil, in contrast to the false teachers’ reckless slander of glorious beings in v.8Composite of ईश्वरनि बिसार + निन्दा — Risk: Medium.
Ἐπιτιμήσαι σοι κύριος
Epitimēsai soi kyrios
”May the Lord rebuke you”
a formal imprecation, deferring judgment to God alone
”The Lord rebuke you”
Michael appeals to God’s own authority rather than acting independently — models proper restraint even in confronting real spiritual evilप्रभुए नांखौ बकनाय होनांगोन (“may the Lord rebuke you”) — NEW, Risk: Medium, built on प्रभु (reused).

Jude 1:10

aloga zōa

The believer’s ultimate destiny: standing, presented, in the direct presence of God’s own gloryDescriptive: बे’नि महिमानि सामनाव थानायखौ जोरायनाय (“to cause [you] to stand in the presence of his glory”) — NEW, Risk: High, built on reused महिमा.
ἀμώμους

Risk: Critical. Doctrine: Kept by God and Presented Blameless. Must be taught as a positional perfection granted through God’s own preserving work (paralleling the baseline’s Critical imputed_righteousness/justification framing), not a self-achieved ritual purity comparable to the purification rites preceding Bathou/Kherai ceremonies.
ἀγαλλιάσει
agalliasei
”with great joy/exultation”
intense, overflowing joy/celebration
”with great joy,” “with exultation”

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningBodo Rendering & Risk
μόνῳ θεῷ
monō theō
”to the only God”
exclusive, sole deity
”to the only God,” “to the one God”
Explicit monotheistic affirmation closing the letter — directly relevant to distinguishing the biblical God from the populated Bathou/Kherai pantheonमोनसे ईश्वर (“the one/only God”) — built on reused ईश्वर. Risk: Critical.
σωτῆρι
sōtēri
”Savior”
one who accomplishes deliverance; agent-noun form of σωτηρία
”Savior”
Names God (through Christ) as the agent of the “common salvation” mentioned in v.3, closing the letter’s soteriological frameफोरायग्रा (phoraigra, “one who rescues/saves”) — NEW, provisional, built on reused root फोराय-. Risk: Critical, parallel to baseline’s salvation Critical framing — a genuine conceptual gap requiring explicit teaching, since Bathouism has no developed personal-Savior category.
διὰ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν
dia Iēsou Christou tou kyriou hēmōn
”through Jesus Christ our Lord”
mediatorial agency
”through Jesus Christ our Lord”
Salvation and glory are given through Christ specifically, not generically through “God” aloneजिसु मसीह, बे’नि प्रभुall reused from Romans TM. Risk: Critical.
δόξα

μεγαλωσύνη
megalōsynē
”majesty, greatness”
supreme greatness/majesty
”majesty”
Second term of the doxological formulaमहानता (mohanota) — NEW, provisional. Risk: Medium. Must be built from Sanskrit महा- (great) rather than from Bodo बुरहा/बर’ऐ roots, which the baseline reserves as forbidden elder-titles for Bathoubwrai; this must remain an abstract quality ascribed to God, never a personal honorific title placing God within an elder-spirit hierarchy.
κράτος
kratos
”might, power”
inherent strength/dominion
”power,” “might,” “dominion”
Third term of the doxological formulaसक्ति — reusing baseline’s power_of_god root (ईश्वरनि सक्ति). Risk: Medium.

the right/power to act, delegated or inherent
”authority,” “power”
Fourth term of the doxological formulaअधिकार (adhikar) — NEW, common Sanskrit/Hindi/Assamese loan. Risk: Medium.

pro pantos tou aiōnos kai nyn kai eis pantas tous aiōnas
”before all time, and now, and unto all the ages”

God’s glory, majesty, power, and authority span all eternity — past, present, futureजिबिनि आगोलाव, दानि आरो सर्बदा जायगानि थाखाय (“before eternity, now, and forever”) — built on new term अनन्त/जायगा family. Risk: Medium.
ἀμήν
amēn
”amen”
a solemn liturgical affirmation, “so be it/truly"
"amen”
Closes the doxology and the letterआमेन (Amen) — NEW, standard transliteration in established regional Christian usage, following baseline’s transliteration policy for liturgical proper terms (parallel to abba). Risk: Low.

3. Whole-Book Coverage Confirmation

Jude consists of a single chapter (25 verses). This document has treated:

  • Jude 1:3–23 (21 verses, the designated core passage) — full verse-by-verse term analysis in Section 1.
  • Jude 1:1–2 (salutation) and Jude 1:24–25 (doxology) — the remaining 4 verses of the same chapter — full term analysis in Section 2.

No verse of the book has been silently omitted. There is no “Chapter 2” or beyond to review; the mandate “every chapter first to last” is satisfied in full by Sections 1–2 above, which together constitute complete coverage of the entire book of Jude.
