Core Glossary
Core Glossary: 1 Corinthians — English → Marathi
This glossary lists every load-bearing theological term identified in analysis/07_semantic_analysis.md, drawn from all sixteen chapters of 1 Corinthians. Terms already fixed in the baseline Romans translation_memory.json are marked [REUSED] and must be applied exactly as recorded there — no re-derivation permitted. New terms introduced by this curriculum are marked [NEW] and are proposed here for adoption into the Phase 2 translation memory, pending theologian sign-off on Critical/High items per the escalation rules in 12_ai_translation_requirements.md.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wisdom | ज्ञान | jñān | High | The Cross as Wisdom and Power | बुद्धी (retains same collision, no gain) | Shares one lexeme with “knowledge” (γνῶσις) in Marathi. Collides with Hindu jñāna-mārga and Buddhist prajñā — self-attained liberating insight — vs. God’s wisdom, disclosed in the crucified Christ, appearing as foolishness. Chs. 1-3, 8, 12. |

| Natural body / Spiritual body | नैसर्गिक शरीर / आत्मिक शरीर | naisargik śarīr / ātmik śarīr | High | The Resurrection of Christ and Believers | — | Not a disembodied/ghostly state; a true, transformed body. 15:44 |

| Was raised (perfect tense) | पुनरुत्थान झाले | Critical | Reuses पुनरुत्थान exactly; bodily, historical, permanent, once-for-all. |
| Appeared / was seen | प्रकट झाला / दिसला | Critical | NEVER दर्शन दिले — avoids Warkari/Hindu devotional darshan associations. |

Part 2 and Part 3 terms are proposed for addition to translation memory in Phase 1 Step 2/3 and require theologian sign-off on every Critical and High risk entry before Phase 2 translation begins.
Critical Risk Terms
Grace
Approved rendering: कृपा
Transliteration: kṛpā
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives: कर्मफळ, पुण्य, स्वतःच्या प्रयत्नाने मिळवलेले
Original: χάρις
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 15:10 (‘by the grace of God I am what I am’) is a prime teaching text: Paul’s apostolic identity and labor are wholly attributed to unearned favor, not merit — never read as bhakti-cultivated favor toward Vitthal.
Righteousness
Approved rendering: नीतिमत्त्व
Transliteration: nītimattva
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: धर्म, पुण्य
Original: δικαιοσύνη
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Applies at 1 Corinthians 1:30 (‘Christ Jesus, who became to us… righteousness’). Never धर्म.
Justification
Approved rendering: नीतिमान ठरवणे
Transliteration: nītimān ṭharavaṇe
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: माफी मिळणे, पुण्य कमावणे
Original: δικαίωσις / δικαιόω
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 6:11 (‘you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified’). Compound phrase required; never abbreviated to a single word implying mere forgiveness or self-earned merit.
Salvation
Approved rendering: तारण
Transliteration: tāraṇ
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: मोक्ष, मुक्ती, निर्वाण
Original: σωτηρία / σῴζω
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 15:2’s present-passive ‘you are being saved’ must be read as God’s continuing preservation of those already delivered through the fixed gospel content of 15:3-4, not self-achieved ongoing progress akin to Eightfold Path cultivation. Never मोक्ष/मुक्ती/निर्वाण.
Resurrection
Approved rendering: पुनरुत्थान
Transliteration: punarutthān
Doctrine: Resurrection of Christ
Rejected alternatives: पुनर्जन्म, पुनर्भव
Original: ἀνάστασις / ἐγείρω
Category: Eschatology
Inherited from Romans package. Central term of 1 Corinthians 15 throughout (15:4, 12-23, 42). Never पुनर्जन्म (Hindu rebirth) or पुनर्भव (Buddhist re-arising of aggregates); bodily, historical, once-for-all.
Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभू
Transliteration: prabhū
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: स्वामी, ईश्वर
Original: κύριος
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 12:3’s confession (‘no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit’) and 16:22-23 must convey exclusive, presently-reigning Lordship, not one more beloved personal deity alongside Vitthal.
Son Of God
Approved rendering: देवाचा पुत्र
Transliteration: devācā putra
Doctrine: Sonship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: देवपुरुष, अवतारी पुरुष
Original: υἱὸς θεοῦ
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 15:28’s ‘then the Son himself will also be subjected’ must not be read as diminishing co-equal deity nor as an honorary title.
Jesus
Approved rendering: येशू
Transliteration: Yeśū
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: ईसा
Original: Ἰησοῦς
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. Occurs throughout 1 Corinthians.
God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर
Transliteration: Parameśvar
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: देव, भगवान
Original: θεός
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Occurs throughout 1 Corinthians; देव flattens monotheistic exclusivity.
Holy Spirit
Approved rendering: पवित्र आत्मा
Transliteration: Pavitra Ātmā
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: परमात्मा, ब्रह्म
Original: πνεῦμα ἅγιον
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 2:10-14; 3:16; 6:11, 19; 12:3-13. Never परमात्मा or ब्रह्म.
Father
Approved rendering: पिता
Transliteration: Pitā
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
Rejected alternatives: निर्माता
Original: πατήρ
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 1:3; 8:6; 15:24.
Imputed Righteousness
Approved rendering: आरोपित नीतिमत्त्व
Transliteration: āropit nītimattva
Doctrine: Justification by Faith
Rejected alternatives: स्वकष्टार्जित नीतिमत्त्व
Original: ἐλογίσθη αὐτῷ εἰς δικαιοσύνην (background)
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Background to 1 Corinthians 1:30’s ‘righteousness… from God.’ Never स्वकष्टार्जित.
Food Sacrificed To Idols
Approved rendering: मूर्तींना अर्पिलेले अन्न
Transliteration: mūrtīnnā arpilele anna
Doctrine: Christian Liberty and Idol Meat
Rejected alternatives: नैवेद्य, प्रसाद
Original: εἰδωλόθυτα
Category: Liberty and Idolatry
8:1-13; 10:19-28. NEVER नैवेद्य or प्रसाद — the standard positively-loaded Marathi/Hindu devotional terms for food ritually offered to and received back from a deity as a blessing. The passage’s ethical argument depends on this food being spiritually neutral-but-associated-with-false-worship; a devotional loanword would reverse the point entirely.
Idol
Approved rendering: मूर्ती
Transliteration: mūrtī
Doctrine: Christian Liberty and Idol Meat
Original: εἴδωλον
Category: Liberty and Idolatry
8:4, 7; 10:19; 12:2. Same everyday Marathi word Hindu neighbors use for their own sacred images. Established biblical usage, but every occurrence needs contextual framing that this refers to a false object of worship, not neutral art/sculpture.
Idolatry
Approved rendering: मूर्तिपूजा
Transliteration: mūrtipūjā
Doctrine: Idolatry and Demonic Powers
Original: εἰδωλολατρία
Category: Liberty and Idolatry
10:7, 14. The exact descriptive term Hindu neighbors themselves use for their own image-worship practice (not inherently pejorative in Hindu self-understanding); render faithfully to the biblical prohibition’s full seriousness without gratuitous polemical embellishment or softening.
Love
Approved rendering: प्रीती
Transliteration: prītī
Doctrine: Love as the Greater Way
Rejected alternatives: प्रेम, भक्ति
Original: ἀγάπη
Category: Love
8:1; 13:1-13; 14:1; 16:14, 24. Must use प्रीती consistently, never प्रेम (romantic/general affection) or भक्ति (devotee-to-deity reverential connotation, already loaded with Warkari devotion toward Vitthal per the baseline grace entry). The single most rigorously enforced lexical fence in this curriculum.
Died For Our Sins
Approved rendering: ख्रिस्त आपल्या पापांसाठी मरण पावला
Transliteration: Khrist āpalyā pāpānsāṭhī maraṇ pāvalā
Doctrine: The Resurrection of Christ
Original: Χριστὸς ἀπέθανεν ὑπὲρ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ἡμῶν
Category: Eschatology
15:3. ὑπέρ (‘for/on behalf of’) must be rendered so the substitutionary/representative sense is unmistakable; must not be softened toward a merely exemplary or educational death.
Appeared Was Seen
Approved rendering: प्रकट झाला / दिसला
Transliteration: prakaṭ jhālā / disalā
Doctrine: The Resurrection of Christ
Rejected alternatives: दर्शन दिले
Original: ὤφθη
Category: Eschatology
15:5-8. NEVER दर्शन दिले (‘gave darshan’) — दर्शन is a heavily loaded Warkari/Hindu devotional term for a deity graciously allowing itself to be seen by a devotee (e.g., Vitthal’s darshan at Pandharpur). Using दर्शन would recast bodily resurrection appearances as a devotional darshan-experience rather than verifiable historical eyewitness testimony.
High Risk Terms
Gospel
Approved rendering: शुभवर्तमान
Transliteration: śubhavartamān
Doctrine: Gospel
Rejected alternatives: बातमी, खबर
Original: εὐαγγέλιον
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. In 1 Corinthians 15:1 this names the fixed apostolic deposit later expounded in 15:3-11 — the one saving proclamation about Christ, not one devotional announcement among others.
Faith
Approved rendering: विश्वास
Transliteration: viśvāsa
Doctrine: Faith
Rejected alternatives: श्रद्धा, भक्ति
Original: πίστις
Category: Faith
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 15:14, 17 anchors faith specifically to the historical resurrection fact, not devotional reverence toward Vitthal or confidence in a self-cultivated path.
Called
Approved rendering: बोलावलेले
Transliteration: bolāvlele
Doctrine: Divine Calling
Rejected alternatives: आमंत्रित
Original: κλητός
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Context-sensitive across 1 Corinthians 1:1-2, 24 (apostleship, sainthood, effectual calling) and 7:15-24 (state in life at conversion) — check which sense is active per occurrence.
Calling
Approved rendering: पाचारण
Transliteration: pācāraṇ
Doctrine: Divine Calling
Rejected alternatives: आवाहन
Original: κλῆσις
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 7:17-24 applies this term to one’s marital/social state at conversion; must not be misread as endorsing a fixed, unchangeable caste-like social station — Paul’s own qualification (7:21) shows pastoral contentment teaching, not social fatalism.
Holy
Approved rendering: पवित्र
Transliteration: pavitra
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शुद्ध
Original: ἅγιος
Category: Sanctification
Inherited from Romans package. Occurs at 1 Corinthians 1:2; 3:17; 7:14, 34.
Saints
Approved rendering: पवित्र जन

Doctrine: Sainthood
Rejected alternatives: संत, मुनी
Original: ἅγιοι
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 1:2; 6:1-2; 16:1, 15. Never संत, which names the revered Warkari poet-saints (Dnyaneshwar, Tukaram, Namdev, Chokhamela), an elite class, not ordinary believers in Corinth.
Sanctification
Approved rendering: पवित्रीकरण
Transliteration: pavitrīkaraṇ
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शुद्धीकरण
Original: ἁγιασμός
Category: Sanctification
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 1:2, 30; 6:11. Distinct from ritual purification and from self-directed Eightfold Path cultivation.

Transliteration: dattak putratva
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
Rejected alternatives: दत्तक घेणे
Original: υἱοθεσία

Doctrine: Fulfillment of Prophecy
Rejected alternatives: धर्म, धम्म
Original: νόμος
Category: Covenant
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 7:19; 9:8-9, 20-21; 14:21, 34; 15:56. Never धर्म or धम्म.

Transliteration: pāp
Doctrine: Universal Human Accountability
Rejected alternatives: अधर्म
Original: ἁμαρτία
Category: Sin
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 15:3, 17, 34, 56 (‘Christ died for our sins’; ‘the sting of death is sin’). Moral accountability before a personal God, not ritual impurity or past-life karma.
Glory
Approved rendering: गौरव
Transliteration: gaurav
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: तेज, प्रकाश
Original: δόξα
Category: God

Original: ἐκλογή / ἐξελέξατο
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. 1 Corinthians 1:27-28 (‘God chose what is foolish… weak… low and despised’). Must never echo the karma-birth explanation of social station that Ambedkarite Buddhist communities explicitly rejected.
Wisdom
Approved rendering: ज्ञान
Transliteration: jñān
Doctrine: The Cross as Wisdom and Power
Rejected alternatives: बुद्धी
Original: σοφία
Category: Wisdom and Power
1:17-30; 2:1-8; 3:18-20; 12:8. ज्ञान is the identical lexeme used for the Bhagavad Gita’s jñāna-mārga and Buddhist prajñā (both self-attained liberating insight). 1 Corinthians argues the reverse: God’s wisdom is disclosed in a crucified Christ and appears as foolishness. Requires mandatory contrastive teaching note at every occurrence, not mere word substitution.
Cross
Approved rendering: क्रूस
Transliteration: krūs
Doctrine: The Cross as Wisdom and Power
Original: σταυρός
Category: Wisdom and Power
1:17-18; 2:2. Established Marathi Christian loanword; risk is theological under-teaching of the wisdom/power paradox, and guarding against assimilation to sannyasa/tapasya self-denial imagery, not lexical substitution.
Schism Division
Approved rendering: फूट
Transliteration: phūṭ
Doctrine: Christian Unity versus Factionalism
Rejected alternatives: गट
Original: σχίσμα
Category: Unity
1:10-13; 3:3; 11:18. Risks mapping Corinthian party-loyalty onto Maharashtra’s caste/sect (jāti/sampradāya) group-identity experience; must read as rebuke of immaturity around Christ’s singular Lordship, never as normalizing faction identity.
Mystery
Approved rendering: रहस्य
Transliteration: rahasya
Doctrine: The Cross as Wisdom and Power
Rejected alternatives: गूढ
Original: μυστήριον
Category: Wisdom and Power
2:1, 7; 4:1; 13:2; 14:2; 15:51. रहस्य carries strong association with Hindu esoteric/tantric secret teachings reserved for initiates; biblical μυστήριον is the opposite dynamic — a plan once hidden, now openly disclosed to all through proclamation.
Temple
Approved rendering: मंदिर
Transliteration: mandir
Doctrine: The Body as Temple of the Holy Spirit
Original: ναός
Category: Church
3:16-17; 6:19. मंदिर is the everyday word for a Hindu shrine housing a मूर्ती approached for darshan; must be explicitly taught as God’s personal indwelling presence through the Spirit, not an image-housing shrine or yogic body-as-energy-vessel concept. Never used interchangeably with मंडळी.
Sexual Immorality
Approved rendering: व्यभिचार
Transliteration: vyabhicār
Doctrine: Church Discipline and Holiness
Original: πορνεία
Category: Discipline
5:1, 9-11; 6:9, 13, 18; 7:2. Requires moral clarity paired with restorative-discipline framing (5:5) so as not to read as unqualified public shaming given Marathi honor-shame dynamics.
Christ Our Passover
Approved rendering: ख्रिस्त आपले वल्हांडणाचे कोकरू
Transliteration: Khrist āple valhāṇḍaṇāce kokarū
Doctrine: Church Discipline and Holiness
Original: τὸ πάσχα ἡμῶν… Χριστός
Category: Discipline
5:7. Uses established Marathi Bible term वल्हांडण सण for Passover; requires OT Exodus background explanation to be meaningful.
Deliver To Satan
Approved rendering: सैतानाच्या स्वाधीन करणे
Transliteration: saitānācyā svādhīn karaṇe
Doctrine: Restorative Church Discipline (Deliver to Satan)
Original: παραδοῦναι τῷ Σατανᾷ
Category: Discipline
5:5. Must be clearly framed as restorative discipline aimed at ultimate salvation (5:5b), sharply distinguished from folk exorcism/curse-removal (jādū-ṭonā) practices.
Bought With A Price
Approved rendering: किंमत मोजून विकत घेतलेले
Transliteration: kimmat mojūn vikat ghetlele
Doctrine: The Cross as Wisdom and Power
Original: ἠγοράσθητε τιμῆς
Category: Wisdom and Power
6:20; 7:23. Redemption/atonement imagery; must retain the costly, substitutionary purchase sense, not read as a generic transactional metaphor.
Divorce Separation
Approved rendering: वेगळे होणे / घटस्फोट
Transliteration: vegḷe hoṇe / ghaṭasphoṭ
Doctrine: Marriage and Singleness
Original: χωρίζω / χωρισμός
Category: Marriage
7:10-15. Must preserve Paul’s careful distinction between the Lord’s own command and Paul’s own apostolic guidance (‘the Pauline privilege’), without collapsing the two.
Knowledge
Approved rendering: ज्ञान
Transliteration: jñān
Doctrine: Christian Liberty and Idol Meat
Original: γνῶσις
Category: Liberty and Idolatry
8:1, 7, 10-11; 12:8; 13:2, 8-9; 14:6. Same lexeme as ‘wisdom’ entry — Marathi lacks a clean lexical distinction from σοφία; context must signal that 8:1’s ‘knowledge puffs up, but love builds up’ critiques correct-but-loveless factual understanding.
Cup Of The Lord And Demons
Approved rendering: प्रभूचा प्याला / भुतांचा प्याला
Transliteration: prabhūcā pyālā / bhutāñcā pyālā
Doctrine: The Lord’s Supper
Original: ποτήριον κυρίου / ποτήριον δαιμονίων
Category: Lord’s Supper
10:16-21. Reuses सहभागिता (fellowship/participation) for κοινωνία in v.16; the two cups represent mutually exclusive spiritual loyalties.
Demon
Approved rendering: भूत
Transliteration: bhūt
Doctrine: Idolatry and Demonic Powers
Original: δαιμόνιον
Category: Liberty and Idolatry
10:20-21. भूत is the everyday rural Marathi term for a malevolent folk ghost-spirit (bhūt-pisāch beliefs), carrying its own appeasement/exorcism framework. Must be taught clearly: real spiritual powers stand behind idol worship, but they are to be fled from, not ritually managed or propitiated.
Table Of The Lord And Demons
Approved rendering: प्रभूचे मेज / भुतांचे मेज
Transliteration: prabhūce mej / bhutāñce mej
Doctrine: The Lord’s Supper
Original: τράπεζα κυρίου / τράπεζα δαιμονίων
Category: Lord’s Supper
10:21. Believers cannot partake of both; parallels Lord’s Supper terminology in ch. 11.
Head Headship
Approved rendering: शीर्ष / मस्तक
Transliteration: śīrṣa / mastak
Doctrine: Head Covering and Gender Order in Worship
Original: κεφαλή
Category: Worship Order
11:3-10. Live complementarian/egalitarian interpretive debate; render the κεφαλή metaphor literally without pre-resolving ‘source’ vs. ‘authority-over’ beyond what the Greek itself supports. Flag for theologian review per gender-sensitive escalation rules.
Tradition
Approved rendering: परंपरा
Transliteration: paramparā
Doctrine: Order in Worship
Original: παράδοσις
Category: Church
11:2. Risk of conflation with Hindu guru-paramparā (an open, evolving oral-teaching lineage); refers here to a fixed, closed set of apostolic instructions, not an evolving tradition open to reinterpretation.
Lords Supper
Approved rendering: प्रभूभोजन
Transliteration: prabhūbhojan
Doctrine: The Lord’s Supper
Original: κυριακὸν δεῖπνον
Category: Lord’s Supper
11:17-34. Central sacramental term; must be kept doctrinally distinct from a merely social meal and from Hindu prasad-sharing rituals, with the seriousness Paul gives it (self-examination, discerning the body) preserved.
Discerning The Body
Approved rendering: शरीर ओळखणे
Transliteration: śarīr oḷakhaṇe
Doctrine: The Lord’s Supper
Original: διακρίνων τὸ σῶμα
Category: Lord’s Supper
11:29. Theologically dense dual referent (Christ’s body given for believers / the church as his body, cf. ch. 12); flag for theologian review.
Body Of Christ
Approved rendering: ख्रिस्ताचे शरीर
Transliteration: khristāce śarīr
Doctrine: Spiritual Gifts and the Body of Christ
Original: σῶμα Χριστοῦ
Category: Spiritual Gifts
12:12-27. Central unity-vs-factionalism metaphor; must directly counter caste-based social stratification models — no member dispensable, ‘less honorable’ members receive greater honor (12:22-24) — resonating strongly for readers with caste-hierarchy experience, Hindu or Ambedkarite Buddhist background.
Tongues
Approved rendering: अन्यभाषा
Transliteration: anyabhāṣā
Doctrine: Spiritual Gifts and the Body of Christ
Original: γλῶσσαι
Category: Spiritual Gifts
12:10, 28, 30; 13:1, 8; 14:2-39. Doctrinally contested (charismatic vs. cessationist interpretation); render literally as ‘other/foreign tongues,’ avoiding interpretive glosses presupposing a particular denominational position.
Word Of Wisdom Knowledge
Approved rendering: ज्ञानाचे वचन
Transliteration: jñānāce vacan
Doctrine: Spiritual Gifts and the Body of Christ
Original: λόγος σοφίας / λόγος γνώσεως
Category: Spiritual Gifts
12:8. Same wisdom/knowledge (jñāna/prajñā) collision noted under the ‘wisdom’ and ‘knowledge’ entries.
Women Keep Silent
Approved rendering: मौन धारण करावे
Transliteration: maun dhāraṇ karāve
Doctrine: Women’s Role in Worship Assemblies
Original: γυναῖκες…σιγάτωσαν
Category: Worship Order
14:34-35. Significant interpretive debate over scope vs. 11:5 (which assumes women pray and prophesy aloud); must not be resolved unilaterally through word choice. Route per gender-sensitive escalation rules, linked with 11:3-16.
Perishable Imperishable
Approved rendering: नाशवंत / अविनाशी
Transliteration: nāśavant / avināśī
Doctrine: The Bodily Resurrection of Believers
Original: φθαρτόν / ἄφθαρτον
Category: Eschatology
15:42, 50-54. अविनाशी closely parallels the Hindu concept of an eternal, imperishable ātman escaping a discarded perishable body; Paul’s point is the reverse — the body itself, transformed, becomes imperishable, not merely an eternal soul escaping a discarded body. Requires mandatory clarifying gloss at every occurrence.
Natural Spiritual Body
Approved rendering: नैसर्गिक शरीर / आत्मिक शरीर
Transliteration: naisargik śarīr / ātmik śarīr
Doctrine: The Bodily Resurrection of Believers
Original: σῶμα ψυχικόν / σῶμα πνευματικόν
Category: Eschatology
15:44. ‘Spiritual body’ must not be read as an immaterial, ghost-like existence; it remains a true, tangible body wholly transformed and empowered by the Spirit. ‘Natural’ does not mean ‘without a soul’ but ‘operating under present, mortal, Adamic conditions.‘
Anathema
Approved rendering: शापित
Transliteration: śāpit
Doctrine: Love as the Greater Way
Original: ἀνάθεμα
Category: Love
16:22 (‘if anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed’). Must not be softened, but also must not be confused with folk-curse (jādū-ṭonā) practices; a solemn covenantal exclusion formula tied to love for the Lord, not an occult curse.
Delivered Received Tradition
Approved rendering: सोपवले / स्वीकारले
Transliteration: sopavale / svīkārale
Doctrine: The Resurrection of Christ
Original: παρέδωκα / παρέλαβον
Category: Eschatology
15:1, 3. Risk of conflation with Hindu guru-paramparā (an open, evolving oral-teaching lineage); this is a closed apostolic deposit traceable to eyewitnesses, not an open tradition subject to elaboration. Pair with the same closed-deposit framing note used for ‘tradition’ (11:2).
According To The Scriptures
Approved rendering: शास्त्रानुसार
Transliteration: śāstrānusār
Doctrine: Fulfillment of Prophecy
Original: κατὰ τὰς γραφάς
Category: Scripture
15:3-4. Reinforces linear, one-time historical fulfillment, not cyclical yuga-time or the Buddhist wheel of dependent origination.
Medium Risk Terms
Apostle
Approved rendering: प्रेषित
Transliteration: preṣit
Doctrine: Apostleship
Rejected alternatives: गुरू, संदेशवाहक
Original: ἀπόστολος
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package. Occurs throughout 1 Corinthians (1:1; 4:9; 9:1-5; 12:28-29; 15:7, 9); Paul’s ‘least of the apostles… by the grace of God’ (15:9-10) retains the sent, commissioned, grace-dependent nature of the office.
Peace
Approved rendering: शांती
Transliteration: śāntī
Doctrine: Peace with God
Rejected alternatives: मनःशांती
Original: εἰρήνη
Category: Salvation

Transliteration: naisargik manuṣya / ātmik manuṣya
Doctrine: The Cross as Wisdom and Power
Original: ψυχικὸς ἄνθρωπος / πνευματικὸς ἄνθρωπος
Category: Wisdom and Power
2:14-15. Must not be confused with Hindu/Buddhist categories of higher vs. lower consciousness attained through yogic or meditative practice; the difference is a given possession of God’s Spirit, not a self-cultivated inner state.
