Core Glossary
Core Glossary: 2 Corinthians (English → Marathi)
This glossary lists every load-bearing theological term identified in 07_semantic_analysis.md, drawn from all 13 chapters of 2 Corinthians. Terms already present in the baseline Romans translation_memory.json are listed first and MUST be reused exactly, unaltered. New terms required by this curriculum’s distinctive doctrines follow, proposed for addition to translation memory with the same schema and risk-tier conventions as the baseline.

| High | 17 | Human theologian |

All Part A reused terms retain the exact risk tier and rendering already recorded in the baseline Romans translation_memory.json and bible_term_registry.json; this glossary does not alter or re-adjudicate those entries.
This glossary extends, and does not contradict, the baseline Romans Language Package. Phase 2 processing of 2 Corinthians must load both the baseline translation_memory.json and this glossary’s Part B entries (once formally merged into an updated translation memory in a subsequent step) before segment translation begins.
Critical Risk Terms
Grace
Approved rendering: कृपा
Transliteration: kṛpā
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives: कर्मफळ, पुण्य, स्वतःच्या प्रयत्नाने मिळवलेले
Original: χάρις
Category: Grace
Inherited from Romans package. CRITICAL: already names devotional favor in Warkari bhakti; every occurrence must make explicit that this favor is unearned and Christ-specific. In 2 Corinthians this term also governs the giving passages (ch. 8-9) and 12:9 — never merit cultivated through bhakti or self-cultivation ethics.
Righteousness
Approved rendering: नीतिमत्त्व
Transliteration: nītimattva
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: धर्म, पुण्य
Original: δικαιοσύνη
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. CRITICAL: never धर्म. Central to 5:21’s ‘become the righteousness of God’ — credited standing, not performance.
Salvation
Approved rendering: तारण
Transliteration: tāraṇ
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: मोक्ष, मुक्ती, निर्वाण
Original: σωτηρία
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. CRITICAL: never मोक्ष/मुक्ती/निर्वाण. Governs ‘day of salvation’ (6:2) and repentance-to-salvation (7:10).
Resurrection
Approved rendering: पुनरुत्थान
Transliteration: punarutthān
Doctrine: Resurrection of Christ
Rejected alternatives: पुनर्जन्म, पुनर्भव
Original: ἀνάστασις / ἐγείρω
Category: Eschatology
Inherited from Romans package. CRITICAL: never पुनर्जन्म or पुनर्भव. Governs both Christ’s resurrection (4:14, 5:15) and the believer’s future resurrection body (5:1-4).
Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभू
Transliteration: prabhū
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: स्वामी, ईश्वर
Original: κύριος
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. Grounds ‘the fear of the Lord’ (5:11) as accountability before the exclusive, reigning Lord, not one deity’s favor among many.
Son Of God
Approved rendering: देवाचा पुत्र
Transliteration: devācā putra
Doctrine: Sonship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: देवपुरुष, अवतारी पुरुष
Original: υἱὸς θεοῦ
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. Underlies 2 Corinthians 1:19’s ‘Son of God, Jesus Christ.‘
Incarnation
Approved rendering: देहधारण
Transliteration: dehadhāraṇ
Doctrine: Incarnation
Rejected alternatives: अवतार, बोधिसत्त्वाचा पुनर्जन्म
Original: —
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. CRITICAL: never अवतार. Theologically underlies Christ’s self-impoverishment (8:9, poverty_of_christ below) as one unique, unrepeatable act.
Messiah
Approved rendering: मसीहा
Transliteration: Masīhā
Doctrine: Messianic Promise
Rejected alternatives: अवतारी पुरुष
Inherited from Romans package. Background term; retained for cross-curriculum consistency.
Jesus
Approved rendering: येशू
Transliteration: Yeśū
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: ईसा
Original: Ἰησοῦς
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. Used throughout 2 Corinthians; never ईसा.
Christ
Approved rendering: ख्रिस्त
Transliteration: Khrist
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Original: Χριστός
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package (established transliteration per 12_ai_translation_requirements.md). Used pervasively throughout 2 Corinthians alongside or in place of येशू; must remain consistent with येशू and मसीहा.
God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर
Transliteration: Parameśvar
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: देव, भगवान
Original: θεός
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. CRITICAL: never देव or भगवान alone in doctrinally precise contexts. God as reconciler, comforter, and judge throughout 2 Corinthians.
Holy Spirit
Approved rendering: पवित्र आत्मा
Transliteration: Pavitra Ātmā
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: परमात्मा, ब्रह्म
Original: πνεῦμα ἅγιον
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Never परमात्मा or ब्रह्म. Central to the new-covenant Spirit ministry (ch. 3) and the guarantee/seal imagery (1:22, 5:5).
Father
Approved rendering: पिता
Transliteration: Pitā
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
Rejected alternatives: निर्माता
Original: πατήρ
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Source of all comfort (1:3) and the one who welcomes the separated (6:18).
Imputed Righteousness
Approved rendering: आरोपित नीतिमत्त्व
Transliteration: āropit nītimattva
Doctrine: Justification by Faith
Rejected alternatives: स्वकष्टार्जित नीतिमत्त्व
Original: λογίζομαι εἰς δικαιοσύνην
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. In 2 Corinthians, the positive counterpart to ‘not counting trespasses’ (5:19) and the ground of ‘become the righteousness of God’ (5:21) — never earned righteousness.
Reconciliation
Approved rendering: समेट / समेट करणे
Transliteration: samet / samet karaṇe
Doctrine: Reconciliation with God
Rejected alternatives: रुजू, जुळवणी
Original: καταλλαγή / καταλλάσσω
Category: Reconciliation
NEW TERM. समेट is the ordinary Marathi word for ending a quarrel/estrangement; every occurrence must keep God as the sole acting grammatical subject — never humanity achieving its own inner harmony via Warkari bhakti devotion or Buddhist self-cultivated equanimity. The passive imperative ‘be reconciled’ (5:20) must preserve ‘receive/accept,’ never ‘achieve/perform’ — the single most important grammatical choice-point in the book.
New Creation
Approved rendering: नवीन सृष्टी
Transliteration: navīn sṛṣṭī
Doctrine: New Creation in Christ
Rejected alternatives: नवा जन्म, नवनिर्माण
Original: καινὴ κτίσις
Category: New Creation
NEW TERM. नवा जन्म rejected — collides with पुनर्जन्म (forbidden rebirth term). नवनिर्माण rejected — politically coded to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (मनसे) and generic socio-political ‘reform.’ नवीन सृष्टी is a deliberately ‘clean’ compound naming God’s definitive, one-time re-creation, not self-improvement or political renewal.
Affliction
Approved rendering: संकट / क्लेश
Transliteration: saṅkaṭ / kleś
Doctrine: Suffering and Comfort in Ministry
Rejected alternatives: दुःख (default word, forbidden except for internal grief with translator note)
Original: θλῖψις
Category: Suffering and Comfort
NEW TERM. दुःख is the technical Navayana Buddhist term for the First Noble Truth (suffering to be extinguished via the Eightfold Path); using it for θλῖψις risks assimilating Paul’s purposeful, relational suffering-with-Christ into that escape-oriented framework. संकट/क्लेश are required as primary renderings; दुःख permitted only for genuine internal grief (7:9-11) with mandatory translator note.
Died For All
Approved rendering: सर्वांसाठी मरण पावला / सर्व मेले
Transliteration: sarvānsāṭhī maraṇ pāvlā / sarva mele
Doctrine: Substitutionary Atonement (Christ Made Sin for Us)
Original: ὑπὲρ πάντων ἀπέθανεν … οἱ πάντες ἀπέθανον
Category: Atonement
NEW TERM. Atonement-class language matching the baseline’s mandatory-theologian-review escalation rule for Romans 3:25. ‘सर्व’ (all) must never be softened or narrowed; grounds representative/federal-headship logic with no equivalent in bhakti individual-devotee grace transactions or Buddhist non-self ethics.
Not Counting Trespasses
Approved rendering: अपराधांचा हिशेब न धरणे
Transliteration: aparādhāncā hiśeb na dharaṇe
Doctrine: Imputed Righteousness within Reconciliation
Original: μὴ λογιζόμενος αὐτοῖς τὰ παραπτώματα αὐτῶν
Category: Reconciliation
NEW TERM. Reuses the ledger/accounting sense of आरोपित नीतिमत्त्व. Must never echo a karma-ledger of merit/demerit tallied across lives — a one-time, complete non-crediting secured by Christ’s substitution, not an ongoing cosmic balance.
Power Made Perfect In Weakness
Approved rendering: सामर्थ्य अशक्तपणात परिपूर्ण होते
Transliteration: sāmarthya aśaktapaṇāt paripūrṇa hote
Doctrine: Power in Weakness
Rejected alternatives: शक्ती (forbidden)
Original: ἡ δύναμις ἐν ἀσθενείᾳ τελεῖται
Category: Power in Weakness
NEW TERM. Reuses सामर्थ्य exactly; never शक्ती (Maharashtra’s Shakti/mother-goddess tradition). This paradox must be preserved without softening — weakness is the venue for grace-given power, not a deficiency overcome by self-effort or merit.
Grace Is Sufficient
Approved rendering: माझी कृपा तुला पुरे आहे
Transliteration: mājhī kṛpā tulā pure āhe
Doctrine: Power in Weakness
Original: ἀρκεῖ σοι ἡ χάρις μου
Category: Grace
NEW TERM. Reuses कृपा exactly. Flagged per baseline escalation rule (any segment contrasting grace with self-effort/works requires mandatory theologian review); must read as active, sufficient divine provision, not passive/fatalistic resignation.
Trinitarian Benediction
Approved rendering: प्रभू येशू ख्रिस्ताची कृपा, देवाची प्रीती आणि पवित्र आत्म्याची सहभागिता
Transliteration: prabhū yeśū khristācī kṛpā, devācī prīti āṇi pavitra ātmyācī sahabhāgitā
Doctrine: Trinitarian Benediction
Original: ἡ χάρις τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, καὶ ἡ ἀγάπη τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ ἡ κοινωνία τοῦ ἁγίου πνεύματος
Category: God
NEW TERM (compound reuse). Reuses प्रभू, कृपा, पवित्र आत्मा, सहभागिता exactly plus प्रीती (never प्रेम) for ἀγάπη. The clearest Trinitarian formula in the Pauline corpus; per the baseline’s Theological Consistency Rules Across Documents, must be rendered identically in every occurrence across all curriculum documents, present and future.
High Risk Terms
Gospel
Approved rendering: शुभवर्तमान
Transliteration: śubhavartamān
Doctrine: Gospel
Rejected alternatives: बातमी, खबर
Original: εὐαγγέλιον
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Established Marathi Bible term for the one saving proclamation. Must remain distinguished from Warkari bhakti’s devotional ‘good news’ of Vitthal’s grace and from Navayana Buddhism’s proclamation of liberation through the Buddha’s teaching.
Faith
Approved rendering: विश्वास
Transliteration: viśvāsa
Doctrine: Faith
Rejected alternatives: श्रद्धा, भक्ति
Original: πίστις
Category: Faith
Inherited from Romans package. Personal trust in Christ specifically; grounds ‘walk by faith, not by sight’ (2 Cor 5:7). Not devotional reverence (bhakti/shraddha) or confidence in a teaching/path.

Transliteration: pavitrīkaraṇ
Doctrine: Sanctification

Transliteration: dattak putratva
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
Rejected alternatives: दत्तक घेणे
Inherited from Romans package. Not directly load-bearing in 2 Corinthians but retained for cross-curriculum consistency (God as Father, 6:18).

Rejected alternatives: तेज, प्रकाश
Original: δόξα
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Avoid light-only imagery. Central to the new-covenant glory contrast (ch. 3-4) and must be distinguished from Satan’s counterfeit ‘angel of light’ (11:14, see angel_of_light below).
Obedience Of Faith
Approved rendering: विश्वासाचे आज्ञापालन
Transliteration: viśvāsāce āgnāpālan
Doctrine: Obedience of Faith

Power Of God
Approved rendering: देवाचे सामर्थ्य
Transliteration: devāce sāmarthya
Doctrine: Power of God for Salvation
Rejected alternatives: शक्ती
Original: δύναμις θεοῦ
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Never शक्ती. Central to the Power-in-Weakness doctrine (12:9-10, 13:4) — see power_made_perfect_in_weakness below, which reuses सामर्थ्य exactly.

Doctrine: Effectual Calling
Rejected alternatives: नशीब, दैव, कर्मफळ

New Covenant
Approved rendering: नवा करार
Transliteration: navā karār
Doctrine: The New Covenant versus the Old
Original: καινὴ διαθήκη
Category: Covenant
NEW TERM. Builds on baseline करार; Mosaic covenant = जुना करार. No structural equivalent in Warkari or Buddhist frameworks; ‘old’ must never be read as invalid/discarded in a way denigrating the OT’s own inspired status.
Comfort
Approved rendering: सांत्वन / सांत्वन देणे
Transliteration: sāntvan / sāntvan deṇe
Doctrine: Suffering and Comfort in Ministry
Rejected alternatives: उत्तेजन देणे (reserved for exhort)
Original: παράκλησις / παρακαλέω
Category: Suffering and Comfort
NEW TERM. God’s active consolation of believers in affliction. Must be kept distinct from उत्तेजन देणे (‘exhort/encourage’) and विनंती करणे (‘appeal/entreat’); the same Greek root παρακαλέω covers all three senses in this book — three-way disambiguation is mandatory at every occurrence.
Sincerity
Approved rendering: निष्कपटता / प्रामाणिकपणा
Transliteration: niṣkapaṭatā / prāmāṇikpaṇā
Doctrine: Sincerity and Apostolic Authority
Original: εἰλικρίνεια / ἁπλότης

NEW TERM. Purity of motive, free of hidden agenda; must be reinforced against the backdrop of false apostles operating with concealed, self-serving motives (ch. 11).
Love Of Christ
Approved rendering: प्रीती
Transliteration: prīti
Doctrine: Christ’s Sacrificial Love
Rejected alternatives: प्रेम
Original: ἀγάπη (τοῦ Χριστοῦ)
Category: Christology
NEW TERM. प्रेम rejected — carries romantic-toned connotation in Warkari bhakti/Vaishnav devotional culture (Radha-Krishna prem). प्रीती is the established Marathi Christian term for self-giving covenantal love (cf. ‘1 करिंथकरांस पत्र 13’ rendered as ‘प्रीतीचा अध्याय’) and is the standing rendering for ἀγάπη across this curriculum, including the Trinitarian benediction (13:14).
Ambassador
Approved rendering: राजदूत
Transliteration: rājdūt
Doctrine: Genuine versus False Apostleship
Rejected alternatives: दूत (generic messenger, too weak)
Original: πρεσβεύω
Category: Apostolic Authority
NEW TERM. राजदूत (‘royal envoy’) preserves authorized representation of a reigning King, tying to देवाचे राज्य and प्रभू; distinguishes apostolic office from a self-appointed guru or social reformer.
Judgment Seat Of Christ
Approved rendering: ख्रिस्ताचे न्यायासन
Transliteration: Khristāce nyāyāsan
Doctrine: Assurance and the Judgment Seat of Christ
Original: τὸ βῆμα τοῦ Χριστοῦ
Category: Eschatology
NEW TERM. Requires an explicit translator note distinguishing it from Yama’s court (यमराजाचा दरबार) or Chitragupta’s ledger (चित्रगुप्ताचा हिशेब) weighing karmic deeds toward rebirth-destiny. Evaluates the already-reconciled believer’s works for reward; salvation status is never in view.
Guarantee Of Spirit
Approved rendering: आत्म्याचा बयाणा
Transliteration: Ātmyācā bayāṇā
Doctrine: The Spirit as Divine Guarantee
Original: ἀρραβών
Category: Sanctification
NEW TERM. बयाणा is the ordinary Marathi commercial/legal earnest-money term. Must be explicitly distinguished from folk-religious protective tokens (ताईत, गंडा) — a legal-commercial guarantee of a certain future inheritance, not a magical charm.
Letter And Spirit
Approved rendering: अक्षर / आत्मा
Transliteration: akṣar / ātmā
Doctrine: Ministry of the Letter versus Ministry of the Spirit
Original: τὸ γράμμα / τὸ πνεῦμα
Category: Covenant
NEW TERM. ‘The Spirit’ here must remain the same personal, divine पवित्र आत्मा of the baseline TM, not an abstract hermeneutical principle distinguishing literal from spiritual reading.
Ministry Of Death And Righteousness
Approved rendering: मरणाची सेवा / नीतिमत्त्वाची सेवा
Transliteration: maraṇācī sevā / nītimattvācī sevā
Doctrine: The New Covenant versus the Old
Original: ἡ διακονία τοῦ θανάτου / τοῦ πνεύματος
Category: Covenant
NEW TERM. Reuses नीतिमत्त्व exactly. Contrasts old and new covenant ministries without denigrating the law’s own God-given, glorious origin.
Temple Of God
Approved rendering: देवाचे मंदिर
Transliteration: devāce mandir
Doctrine: Indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Temple Imagery)
Original: ναὸς θεοῦ
Category: Sanctification
NEW TERM. The baseline forbids मंदिर/देऊळ for church (मंडळी), yet 6:16 itself deploys temple/sanctuary imagery for a different point — the Spirit’s indwelling of believers. Every occurrence requires an explicit translator note: no physical structure, no idol, no priestly mediation.
Godly Grief
Approved rendering: देवेच्छेनुसार दुःख / जगिक दुःख
Transliteration: devecchenusār duḥkh / jagik duḥkh
Doctrine: Repentance and Godly Grief
Original: ἡ κατὰ θεὸν λύπη / ἡ τοῦ κόσμου λύπη
Category: Repentance
NEW TERM. दुःख is contextually appropriate here (internal grief, not external θλῖψις). ‘Worldly grief produces death’ (7:10) must not be phrased suggestively of a karma-fatalistic reading.
Repentance
Approved rendering: पश्चात्ताप
Transliteration: paścāttāp
Doctrine: Repentance and Godly Grief
Original: μετάνοια
Category: Repentance
NEW TERM. Must be distinguished from Hindu/Buddhist प्रायश्चित्त (merit-restoring penitential ritual); biblical repentance flows from grace already extended.
Grace Of Giving
Approved rendering: कृपेने दिलेली देणगी
Transliteration: kṛpene dilelī deṇgī
Doctrine: Generosity and Grace in Giving
Rejected alternatives: दान
Original: χάρις (in the giving/collection sense) / δωρεά
Category: Generosity and Giving
NEW TERM. दान rejected — the standard Hindu word for religious almsgiving carries strong punya/merit-earning connotations. देणगी is the doctrinally safer, neutral Marathi word for gift/contribution, used consistently for the Corinthians’ collection and God’s own ‘indescribable gift.‘
Poverty Of Christ
Approved rendering: ख्रिस्त गरीब/दरिद्री झाला
Transliteration: Khrist garīb/daridrī jhālā
Doctrine: Generosity and Grace in Giving
Original: ἐπτώχευσεν
Category: Christology
NEW TERM. Connects directly to देहधारण — this self-impoverishment is part of the same one-time, unique self-giving act of the eternal Son, not a repeatable cycle of descents.
Sufficiency
Approved rendering: पर्याप्तता
Transliteration: paryāptatā
Doctrine: Sufficiency from God, Not Self
Rejected alternatives: स्वयंपूर्णता
Original: αὐτάρκεια
Category: Power in Weakness
NEW TERM. स्वयंपूर्णता (‘self-sufficiency’) rejected — suggests a self-generated contentment resembling the Stoic autarkeia ideal or the Buddhist goal of contentment through self-disciplined non-attachment. Always pair पर्याप्तता with ‘देवाकडून पुरवलेली’ (supplied by God).
False Apostles
Approved rendering: खोटे प्रेषित
Transliteration: khoṭe preṣit
Doctrine: Genuine versus False Apostleship
Original: ψευδαπόστολοι
Category: Genuine vs. False Apostleship
NEW TERM. Combines खोटे with the baseline प्रेषित; risk elevated above the baseline apostle term alone given the sharp polemical stakes of this distinctly Corinthian concern.
Godly Jealousy
Approved rendering: देवाचा आवेश
Transliteration: devācā āveś
Doctrine: The Church’s Bridal Fidelity to Christ
Rejected alternatives: ईर्ष्या (exclusively negative petty-envy connotation)
Original: ζῆλος θεοῦ
Category: Sincerity and Apostolic Authority
NEW TERM. आवेश captures protective, covenantal zeal, but requires a clarifying note that this is God’s exclusive claim on the church’s devotion, not sinful envy.
Pure Virgin Betrothed
Approved rendering: शुद्ध कुमारिका
Transliteration: śuddha kumārikā
Doctrine: The Church’s Bridal Fidelity to Christ
Original: παρθένος ἁγνή
Category: Church
NEW TERM. Requires a translator note clarifying this is a marriage-covenant fidelity metaphor for the church’s exclusive devotion to Christ, not a literal virginity requirement, and must not be confused with regional goddess-virgin devotional cults.
Christ In You
Approved rendering: ख्रिस्त तुमच्यामध्ये
Transliteration: Khrist tumacyāmadhye
Doctrine: Christian Identity in Christ
Original: Χριστὸς ἐν ὑμῖν
Category: Christian Identity
NEW TERM. Directly continues the baseline’s Christian Identity in Christ doctrine framework; identity in union with Christ, not caste, community, or social-reform identity.
Forgiveness
Approved rendering: क्षमा करणे
Transliteration: kṣamā karaṇe
Doctrine: Church Discipline and Forgiveness
Original: χαρίζομαι
Category: Church Discipline
NEW TERM. Etymologically linked to कृपा. Must not read as merit-restoring ritual penance (प्रायश्चित्त) but as a grace-rooted act flowing from Christ’s own forgiveness of the church.
Medium Risk Terms
Apostle
Approved rendering: प्रेषित
Transliteration: preṣit
Doctrine: Apostleship
Rejected alternatives: गुरू, संदेशवाहक
Original: ἀπόστολος

Approved rendering: शांती
Transliteration: śāntī
Doctrine: Peace with God
Rejected alternatives: मनःशांती

Doctrine: Spiritual Gifts
Rejected alternatives: वरदान, सिद्धी
Inherited from Romans package. Retained for cross-curriculum consistency; not directly load-bearing in 2 Corinthians.
Church
Approved rendering: मंडळी
Transliteration: maṇḍaḷī
Doctrine: Church as God’s People
Rejected alternatives: देऊळ, मंदिर
Original: ἐκκλησία
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package. Never देऊळ/मंदिर for the congregation itself. NOTE: 2 Corinthians 6:16 separately uses देवाचे मंदिर for a different purpose (Spirit-indwelling imagery, not the congregation-as-institution) — see temple_of_god below; this does not reopen the forbidden substitution for मंडळी.
Kingdom Of God
Approved rendering: देवाचे राज्य
Transliteration: devāce rājya
Doctrine: Kingdom Mission
Rejected alternatives: ईश्वरी राष्ट्र
Original: βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ

Veil
Approved rendering: पडदा
Transliteration: paḍdā

Transformed Into His Image
Approved rendering: रूपांतरित होणे
Transliteration: rūpāntarit hoṇe
Doctrine: Transformation into Christ’s Likeness
Original: μεταμορφόω
Category: Sanctification
NEW TERM. Could resonate with Hindu deity form-shifting narratives (Vishnu’s avatars); translator note required clarifying this is the Spirit’s ongoing moral transformation into Christ’s likeness (linked to पवित्रीकरण), not a deity’s temporary shape-change.
Freedom
Approved rendering: स्वातंत्र्य
Transliteration: svātantrya
Doctrine: The New Covenant versus the Old
Original: ἐλευθερία
Category: Covenant
NEW TERM. Also the standard Marathi word for India’s 1947 political independence; translator note required distinguishing Spirit-given freedom from the law’s condemnation from political/national independence.

Transliteration: bāhya manuṣya / āntarik manuṣya
Doctrine: Suffering and Comfort in Ministry
Original: ὁ ἔξω ἄνθρωπος / ὁ ἔσω ἄνθρωπος
Category: Anthropology
NEW TERM. Must be distinguished from Samkhya-Hindu deha-ātman dualism (unchanging eternal soul vs. discardable body) and from the Buddhist five-aggregates/anatta framework (no enduring self); describes renewal of the whole person under decay and grace.
Eternal Weight Of Glory
Approved rendering: अनंतकाळचे गौरवाचे वजन
Transliteration: anantakāḷce gauravāce vajan
Doctrine: Suffering and Comfort in Ministry
Original: αἰώνιον βάρος δόξης

Doctrine: Resurrection Hope and the Future Body
Original: ἐπίγειος οἰκία τοῦ σκήνους / οἰκοδομὴ ἐκ θεοῦ

Trespasses
Approved rendering: अपराध

Transliteration: devābarobar sahakārya karaṇe

Transliteration: vijoḍ jokhaḍākhālī jumpūn gheṇe
Doctrine: Indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Temple Imagery)
Original: ἑτεροζυγέω

Equality
Approved rendering: समानता
Transliteration: samānatā
Doctrine: Generosity and Grace in Giving
Original: ἰσότης
Category: Generosity and Giving
NEW TERM. Positively resonant with Ambedkarite social-equality discourse in Maharashtra; must be anchored to its specific referent (voluntary material sharing among believers), not over-politicized into a general social-equality slogan.

Doctrine: Generosity and Grace in Giving

Doctrine: Spiritual Warfare Against False Reasoning
Original: ἡ στρατεία … οὐ κατὰ σάρκα / τὰ ὅπλα

Doctrine: Spiritual Warfare Against False Reasoning

Boasting
Approved rendering: अभिमान बाळगणे / बढाई मारणे
Transliteration: abhimān bāḷgaṇe / baḍhāī māraṇe
Doctrine: Genuine Boasting in the Lord versus Worldly Boasting
Original: καύχημα / καύχησις / καυχάομαι
Category: Apostolic Authority
NEW TERM. Context-sensitive like the baseline’s called/बोलावलेले: अभिमान बाळगणे (positive, ‘boasting in the Lord’) vs. बढाई मारणे (negative, ‘foolish boasting’) — check sense at every occurrence, especially across chs. 5, 10-12.
Commend
Approved rendering: स्वतःची शिफारस करणे / स्वतःची स्तुती करणे

Transliteration: prakāśācā dūt
Doctrine: Genuine versus False Apostleship
Original: ἄγγελος φωτός
Category: Genuine vs. False Apostleship

Doctrine: Genuine versus False Apostleship
Original: ὀπτασίαι καὶ ἀποκαλύψεις

Triumphal Procession
Approved rendering: विजयी मिरवणुकीत नेणे
Transliteration: vijayī miravaṇukīt neṇe
Doctrine: Apostolic Suffering as Participation in Christ
Original: θριαμβεύω
Category: Suffering and Comfort
NEW TERM. Risks being misread through Maharashtra’s joyful procession culture (Ganpati visarjan miravaṇūk, Warkari dindi to Pandharpur); translator note required clarifying Paul depicts himself as a captive displayed within Christ’s victory parade — a humbling image of being led, not leading a celebratory procession.

Approved rendering: ख्रिस्ताचा सुगंध
Transliteration: Khristācā sugandh
Doctrine: Genuine Apostleship
Original: ὀσμὴ Χριστοῦ
Category: Genuine Apostleship
