Doctrine Analysis
Doctrine Analysis: Ephesians (Full Book) — Pashto Destination Language
1. Method and Scope
This analysis walks Ephesians 1:1 through 6:24 in canonical order. For each chapter it identifies:
- Which of the 18 registered doctrines (per
doctrine_risk_registry.json) are active, - The specific supporting passages within that chapter,
- The risk tier (Critical / High / Medium / Low, matching the registry exactly),
- The concrete, grounded translation risk (drawing on the Romans baseline collision classes plus the Ephesians-specific collisions identified in
08_core_glossary.md), and - The review routing (Human theologian / Native speaker / Automated), matching the registry exactly.
No new doctrines, risk tiers, or routing decisions are introduced here beyond what doctrine_risk_registry.json already establishes. This document is the chapter-indexed expansion of that registry, confirming full-book coverage.
2. Chapter-by-Chapter Doctrine Coverage
Ephesians 1 (1:1-23)
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| (Greeting conventions — apostle, saints, grace, peace) | 1:1-2 | — | No new doctrinal load. رسول, مقدسان, فضل, سوله all reuse baseline/Section A terms exactly. Reviewed explicitly; no deviation required. | Automated review |
| Election and Predestination in Christ | 1:4-5, 1:11-12 | Critical | مخکې ټاکل شوی collides directly with qadar (Sunni fatalistic divine decree, one of the six pillars of iman); must be taught as specific, Christ-centered, redemptive predestination unto adoption, not blanket cosmic fatalism. | Human theologian |
| Adoption into God’s Family | 1:5 | Critical | Direct υἱοθεσία occurrence; زوی نیول must be taught against both the Quranic adoption restriction and rigid patrilineal qawm/khel inheritance norms. | Human theologian |
| The Mystery of Christ Revealed | 1:9 | High | راز here names God’s redemptive plan now disclosed in Christ; must be pre-emptively distinguished from the Sufi elite-initiate “raz” tradition before ch. 3’s fuller treatment. | Human theologian |
| Thanksgiving and Praise | 1:3-14, 1:16 | Low | شکر/ستاینه anchored to the specific enumerated spiritual blessings (1:3-14), not generalized gratitude. | Automated review |
| Assurance of Salvation | 1:13-14 | High | مهر کول (seal of the Spirit) must be taught as God’s own settled, completed guarantee, against Islamic piety’s default discomfort with certainty of final salvation. | Human theologian |
| Prayer and Intercession | 1:16-19 | Medium | Paul’s intercessory prayer pattern; بلنه/د زړه سترګې language of “eyes of the heart enlightened” must retain personal address to God, not generic wisdom-seeking. | Native speaker review |
| Deity and Supreme Authority of Christ | 1:20-23 | Critical | Christ “far above all rule and authority” and seated at God’s right hand is the paradigm shirk-collision case; must not be softened to an honored prophet’s exaltation. | Human theologian |
| The Church as the Body of Christ | 1:22-23 | Critical | First occurrence of د مسیح بدن and بشپړتیا (fullness); must avoid collapsing “fullness” into Sufi wahdat al-wujud pantheistic monism. | Human theologian |
Ephesians 2 (2:1-22) — includes the core passage (2:1-10)
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Universal Human Accountability | 2:1-3 | High | ”Dead in trespasses (تېروتنې) and sins (ګناه)… by nature children of wrath (غضب)” teaches an inherited, birth-condition liability distinct from both fitrah’s innate purity and Pashtunwali’s honor-shame-primary ethics; must not be assimilated to either default. | Human theologian |
| Salvation by Grace through Faith (CORE PASSAGE) | 2:4-10, esp. 2:8-9 | Critical | The single highest-stakes statement in the curriculum: فضل/ایمان/نجات contrasted with کارونه (works, excluded absolutely) and ډالۍ (gift, no repayment obligation). Direct collision with Islamic mizan deeds-weighing and the melmastia hospitality-reciprocity code. 2:8 joins the cross-document verbatim-consistency list alongside Romans 1:16-17, 8:28, 10:9-10. | Human theologian |
| Walking in Newness of Life | 2:2 (former walk), 2:10 (good works as fruit) | High | چلند کول must render identically at first and later occurrences (4:1,17; 5:2,8,15) to preserve the letter’s structural before/after contrast; ښه کارونه (2:10) must be unmistakably sequenced as fruit, never grounds, given overlap with Islamic amal-e-saleh vocabulary. | Human theologian |
| Assurance of Salvation | 2:5-6 | High | د مسیح سره یوځای بیا راژوندي کول and سره کیناستل (seated with Christ) are extraordinary status-elevating claims in a hierarchical honor culture; must be taught as gift, not achievement. | Human theologian |
| Unity of Jews and Gentiles in One New Humanity | 2:11-22 | Critical | غیر یهودیان, اسرائیل, د بېلتون دیوال, نوی انسان: the “one new man” must be a genuinely new third category, not a coalition of two pre-existing ethnic groups, in a region where identity defaults overwhelmingly to qawm/khel lineage. | Human theologian |
| Reconciliation and Peace with God | 2:14-18 | Medium | پخلاینه/سوله resonate strongly with lived jirga/feud-ending experience — a genuine asset — but Christ’s reconciling work must be calibrated as unilateral (achieved on the cross), not bilaterally negotiated as in customary mediated settlement. | Native speaker review |
| Adoption into God’s Family | 2:19 | Critical | د خدای کورنۍ (household of God) extends adoption’s Critical tier corporately; full family belonging without blood descent, disentangled from patrilineal inheritance custom. | Human theologian |
| The Church as the Body of Christ | 2:19-22 | Critical | معبد (temple) risks being heard as a physical building colliding with جومات (mosque); must denote the living, dispersed, often secret community consistent with regional legal realities for Muslim-background believers. | Human theologian |
Ephesians 3 (3:1-21)
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Mystery of Christ Revealed | 3:1-9 | High | Full technical treatment of راز: fully and publicly disclosed to all believers, not progressively unveiled to a spiritual elite through a pir — the exact inverse of the regional Sufi devotional structure. Mandatory theologian review at every occurrence per glossary cross-reference note 3. | Human theologian |
| The Church as the Body of Christ | 3:10, 3:21 | Critical | God’s wisdom made known “through the church” to the rulers/authorities; ties church doctrine directly into the Spiritual Warfare doctrine’s cosmic-authority claims. | Human theologian |
| Mission and Evangelism | 3:1-13 (Paul’s imprisoned ministry) | Critical | Paul’s suffering for Gentile-inclusion ministry previews 6:19-20’s “ambassador in chains”; mirrors real, severe legal/social risk for Muslim-background converts in the region. | Human theologian |
| Prayer and Intercession | 3:14-19 | Medium | لاسرسی (bold, unmediated access) to God the Father is countercultural in a patron-client honor culture where ordinary persons do not customarily approach a powerful patriarch directly. | Native speaker review |
| Adoption into God’s Family | 3:14-15 | Critical | Fatherhood wordplay (“from whom every family/fatherhood is named”) is an opportunity to soften پلار’s stern-authority default in Pashtun patriarchal culture while retaining the tawhid-anthropomorphism caution. | Human theologian |
| Deity and Supreme Authority of Christ | 3:16-19 (Christ dwelling by the Spirit; “breadth, length, height, depth”) | Critical | Continues 1:20-23’s exaltation claims; Christ’s love described in cosmic-spatial terms must not be reduced to devotional sentiment divorced from his supreme authority. | Human theologian |
| Thanksgiving and Praise | 3:20-21 (doxology) | Low | ستاینه/جلال anchored specifically to God’s power “at work within us,” consistent with 1:3-14’s pattern. | Automated review |
Ephesians 4 (4:1-32)
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Walking in Newness of Life | 4:1 (opening exhortation), 4:17-24, 4:25-32 | High | چلند کول recurs structurally; 4:22-24’s زوړ انسان/نوی انسان (old self/new self) pairs the individual-ethical register with ch. 2’s corporate register — same term, must render identically across both registers. | Human theologian |
| Unity of Jews and Gentiles in One New Humanity | 4:3-6 (sevenfold “one”) | Critical | یووالی’s sevenfold repetition must be kept distinct from tawhid’s numerical singularity of the divine essence — diverse-body unity around one Lord, not an assertion about God’s essential oneness. | Human theologian |
| Gifts for Building Up the Church | 4:7-16 | High | روحاني ورکړې, رسول, پیغمبر, د انجیل ویناوال (evangelist), شپون (pastor): apostle/prophet office-titles collide with Muhammad’s rasul/khatam al-anbiya titles; evangelist carries the same severe safety risk flagged for open gospel proclamation. | Human theologian |
| Deity and Supreme Authority of Christ | 4:8-10 (descended/ascended), 4:13 (fullness of Christ) | Critical | Christ’s descent and triumphant ascent “far above all the heavens” continues the cosmic-authority claim; must not be diluted into one victorious spirit among several contending regional unseen powers. | Human theologian |
| The Church as the Body of Christ | 4:4, 4:12, 4:16 | Critical | د مسیح بدن (body) built up “until we all attain… the fullness of Christ” — organic, growing unity under Christ’s headship, without dependence on institutional/building form. | Human theologian |
| Universal Human Accountability | 4:17-19 (Gentile futility of mind, hardness of heart) | High | نفس (flesh/ethical self) is a live Islamic ethical category of self-discipline; risks reducing Paul’s total-depravity description to an achievable self-mastery project rather than an inherited condition. | Human theologian |
| Personhood of the Holy Spirit | 4:30 (do not grieve the Holy Spirit) | Critical | د روح القدس خفه کول is decisive evidence of the Spirit’s personal nature, directly countering the created-angel (Jibril) identification already flagged Critical in the Romans baseline. | Human theologian |
Ephesians 5 (5:1-33)
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Walking in Newness of Life | 5:1-2 (imitators of God), 5:8 (walk as children of light), 5:15 (walk in wisdom) | High | د خدای پیروي کوونکي (imitators of God) is ethical imitation of God’s self-giving love, not ontological participation in the divine nature — a tawhid-sensitive distinction that must be made explicit. | Human theologian |
| Universal Human Accountability | 5:3-14 (vice lists, “sons of disobedience,” God’s wrath) | High | غضب (wrath) is a shared Quranic term for divine anger; must be anchored to Christ’s atoning work rather than left as impersonal cosmic ledger-keeping consistent with the doctrine’s baseline framing. | Human theologian |
| Personhood of the Holy Spirit | 5:18 (be filled with the Spirit) | Critical | له روح القدس نه ډک کیدل must be distinguished from ecstatic/trance devotional states associated with regional Sufi practice; Spirit-fullness here issues in sober, communal, relational fruit (5:19-20), not loss of self-control. | Human theologian |
| Thanksgiving and Praise | 5:4, 5:20 | Low | شکر consistent with the doctrine’s baseline low-risk profile; keep anchored to specific circumstances named in context, not generic piety. | Automated review |
| Household Codes and Christ-Centered Relationships | 5:21-33 | Critical | غاړه ایښودل (submission) sits at the acute triple collision already flagged in the registry: Islam’s own definitional submission to God, Pashtunwali’s tribal-elder submission expectations, and the risk of losing 5:21’s mutuality beneath 5:22’s wife-specific instruction. سر (head/authority) must be redefined per Christ’s self-sacrificial headship model (5:25), not the Pashtun patriarchal stern-control default. | Human theologian |
| The Church as the Body of Christ | 5:23-32 (Christ and the church as bridegroom/body) | Critical | د مسیح بدن imagery extended to marriage; the church’s identity as Christ’s body/bride must not collapse into a merely social or institutional analogy. | Human theologian |
| The Mystery of Christ Revealed | 5:32 (“this mystery is profound… Christ and the church”) | High | راز again invoked for the marriage/Christ-church typology; must retain the fully-disclosed-to-all-believers sense established in ch. 1 and 3, not an esoteric marital secret. | Human theologian |
Ephesians 6 (6:1-24)
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Household Codes and Christ-Centered Relationships | 6:1-4 (children/parents), 6:5-9 (bondservants/masters) | Critical | مالک (never خداوند) must be used for the human “master” of 6:5-9, per the baseline’s explicit reservation of خداوند for Christ’s exclusive Lordship alone; غلام (bondservant) requires a historical-context note distinguishing Greco-Roman household slavery from other regional slavery associations. | Human theologian |
| Spiritual Warfare and the Armor of God | 6:10-20 | Critical | د خدای وسله (armor of God): وسله carries extremely heavy, immediate resonance with literal armed conflict, tribal badal feuding, and Taliban-era armed-jihad framing; every occurrence must repeatedly clarify this is exclusively non-violent, defensive, spiritual imagery. Among the most acute real-world safety collisions in the entire curriculum. | Human theologian |
| Deity and Supreme Authority of Christ | 6:12 (rulers, authorities, cosmic powers) | Critical | روحاني واکمنۍ او ځواکونه must preserve Christ’s total, already-accomplished cosmic authority (established in 1:20-23) rather than reducing him to one actor among several contending unseen powers. | Human theologian |
| Prayer and Intercession | 6:18-20 | Medium | Paul’s call to “pray at all times… also for me” extends the nanawatai-mediation bridge and the ambassador motif; بلوغ/زړورتوب (boldness) in gospel proclamation must be read alongside the acute danger named explicitly in the next line. | Native speaker review |
| Mission and Evangelism | 6:19-20 (“ambassador in chains”) | Critical | زندانی سفیر mirrors the real, contemporary imprisonment/persecution risk for gospel proclamation among Muslim-background Pashtuns; must be handled with full pastoral awareness of danger to speaker and hearer alike. | Human theologian |
| (Closing greeting — grace, peace, love with faith) | 6:23-24 | — | No new doctrinal load. فضل, سوله, ایمان all reuse established Section A/baseline terms exactly; reviewed explicitly, consistent close matching Romans’ own closing convention. | Automated review |

4. Sections Explicitly Reviewed with No New Doctrinal Load
Per the full-book coverage mandate, the following passages were reviewed and confirmed to introduce no new term, doctrine, or risk beyond what is already captured above. They are recorded here rather than silently omitted:
- Ephesians 1:1-2 — Standard apostolic greeting; reuses رسول, مقدسان, فضل, سوله exactly per Section A of the core glossary.
- Ephesians 6:21-24 — Standard closing greeting and benediction; reuses فضل, سوله, ایمان exactly, mirroring the closing convention already established in the Romans baseline.
- Ephesians 4:2-3 (transitional connective clauses: “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love”) — Everyday virtue vocabulary; contributes supporting texture to Walking in Newness of Life and Unity doctrines already tabulated above but introduces no independent term of Medium risk or higher.
- Ephesians 5:33 (summary restatement of 5:25,28 for the husband; “let the wife respect her husband”) — Restates, rather than extends, the Household Codes doctrine already fully analyzed at 5:21-33.
5. Cross-Reference to Glossary and Translation Memory
- All doctrine names and risk tiers in Section 3 are identical to
doctrine_risk_registry.json(Ephesians) and must never be altered independently by Phase 2 tooling. - Term-level detail (Pashto renderings, transliterations, rejected alternatives) for every key term referenced above is recorded in
08_core_glossary.md(Section A for reused Romans-baseline terms; Section B for new Ephesians terms) and must be promoted intotranslation_memory.jsonbefore Phase 2 segment translation begins, per that document’s own cross-reference notes. - Ephesians 2:8 is confirmed here as joining the cross-document verbatim-consistency list (with Romans 1:16-17, 8:28, 10:9-10) given its role as the direct restatement of the core passage’s thesis.
- راز (mystery, doctrine #5) and د خدای وسله (armor of God, doctrine #6) are confirmed here as requiring mandatory theologian review at every single occurrence, not merely at first occurrence, given their sustained collision surface with regional Sufi devotional vocabulary and literal armed-conflict/jihad framing respectively.
This document extends, and does not contradict, the Romans baseline doctrine_risk_registry.json and translation_memory.json. It supplies the full-book chapter index required by PRD Phase 1 Step 4 for the Ephesians curriculum.
Critical Risk Doctrines
Salvation by Grace through Faith
Pashto name: د فضل له لارې په ایمان نجات
Key terms: grace, faith, salvation, gift_of_salvation, works_excluded, good_works_fruit, boast
Review routing: Human theologian
The core passage’s grace/faith/works sequence (2:8-9) is the single highest-stakes salvation statement in the curriculum; both mainstream Islamic mizan deeds-weighing theology and Pashtunwali’s honor-earned-through-deeds code default to some meritorious contribution to standing before God, making the unqualified ‘not from works’ exclusion the point of maximum doctrinal collision risk.
Election and Predestination in Christ
Pashto name: په مسیح کې غوره کول او مخکې ټاکل
Key terms: election, predestined, blessing, inheritance
Review routing: Human theologian
مخکې ټاکل شوی collides directly with qadar, one of Sunni Islam’s six pillars of iman, in which God’s all-encompassing decree is popularly received with fatalistic resignation rather than assurance; Ephesians 1 teaches a specific, Christ-centered, redemptive predestination unto adoption and praise, categorically distinct from blanket cosmic fatalism, and this must be taught explicitly at every occurrence.
The Church as the Body of Christ
Pashto name: کلیسا د مسیح بدن په توګه
Key terms: church, body_of_christ, fullness, household_of_god, cornerstone, temple_living
Review routing: Human theologian
Beyond the baseline’s existing Critical-tier caution that کلیسا must never be rendered امت, this doctrine’s organic ‘body’ and ‘temple’ imagery must be taught with a dispersed, often secret, non-building community in view, since open church buildings and gatherings carry severe legal and social risk for Muslim-background believers across much of the Pashto-speaking world, especially under Taliban rule.
Unity of Jews and Gentiles in One New Humanity
Pashto name: د یهودیانو او غیریهودیانو یووالی په یو نوي انسان کې
Key terms: gentiles, israel, commonwealth_of_israel, dividing_wall, one_new_man, reconciliation, unity
Review routing: Human theologian
This doctrine’s ‘one new man’ must be taught as a genuinely new third category of humanity, not a coalition of two pre-existing ethnic groups, in a region where communal identity is otherwise overwhelmingly defined by qawm/khel tribal lineage and religious-confessional lines; the sevenfold ‘one’ of 4:4-6 must also be kept distinct from tawhid’s own numerical singularity of the divine essence, a different category altogether.
Spiritual Warfare and the Armor of God
Pashto name: روحاني جنګ او د خدای وسله
Key terms: armor_of_god, rulers_authorities_powers, ruler_of_power_of_air, heavenly_places, word_of_god_sword
Review routing: Human theologian
وسله (weapons/arms) carries extremely heavy, immediate cultural and political resonance in a region defined by decades of armed conflict, tribal badal feuding, and, under Taliban rule, an explicit ideology of literal armed jihad framed in overtly religious terms; every occurrence must repeatedly clarify this is entirely non-violent, defensive, spiritual imagery directed against defeated cosmic powers, never a religious warrant for literal armed struggle. This is among the most acute real-world safety collisions in the entire curriculum.
Household Codes and Christ-Centered Relationships
Pashto name: د کورنۍ قوانین او په مسیح محوره اړیکې
Key terms: submission, head_authority, one_flesh, bondservant, master_human
Review routing: Human theologian
غاړه ایښودل (submission) sits at an acute triple collision: Islam’s own definitional submission owed exclusively to God, Pashtunwali’s own honor-code and tribal-elder submission expectations, and the risk that 5:21’s mutual submission is lost beneath 5:22’s wife-specific instruction, collapsing the passage into unilateral hierarchy. Additionally, مالک (never خداوند) must be used for the human ‘master’ of 6:5-9 to preserve the baseline’s reservation of خداوند for Christ’s exclusive Lordship alone.
Adoption into God’s Family
Pashto name: د خدای کورنۍ کې زوی توب
Key terms: adoption, household_of_god, inheritance
Review routing: Human theologian
Beyond the shared Quranic restriction on adoption already flagged Critical in the baseline, this doctrine’s corporate extension (household_of_god, 2:19) and inheritance language (میراث, 1:11,14,18) must be explicitly disentangled from Pashtun patrilineal qawm/khel inheritance customs at every occurrence, since a non-blood-descended person receiving full inheritance-equivalent status is an especially sharp departure from regional social norms.
Deity and Supreme Authority of Christ
Pashto name: د مسیح الوهیت او د هغه لوی واک
Key terms: lord, son_of_god, glory, power_of_god, rulers_authorities_powers
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s exaltation ‘far above all rule and authority and power and dominion’ (1:21) and his seating at God’s right hand is the paradigm case of shirk from a tawhid standpoint and must never be softened to describing merely a great and honored prophet; this cosmic authority also directly grounds the Spiritual Warfare doctrine and must not be diluted into one victorious spirit among several contending powers.
Personhood of the Holy Spirit
Pashto name: د روح القدس شخصیت
Key terms: holy_spirit, seal_of_spirit, grieve_holy_spirit, filled_with_spirit
Review routing: Human theologian
Identical Quranic phrase and mainstream tafsir identification of روح القدس with the created angel Jibril, as already flagged Critical in the baseline, is directly countered by Ephesians 4:30’s claim that the Spirit can be personally grieved by sin — decisive evidence of a divine Person, not a created being or impersonal force — and this must be made explicit at every occurrence.
Mission and Evangelism
Pashto name: ماموریت او د انجیل بیان
Key terms: mission, gospel, evangelist, ambassador_in_chains
Review routing: Human theologian
Paul’s self-description as ‘an ambassador in chains’ pleading for boldness to proclaim the gospel (6:19-20) mirrors the real, severe, potentially life-threatening legal and social risk that open gospel proclamation carries for Muslim-background converts across much of the Pashto-speaking world, especially Taliban-controlled Afghanistan; this doctrine must be taught with full pastoral awareness of danger to both speaker and hearer.
High Risk Doctrines
The Mystery of Christ Revealed
Pashto name: د مسیح راز چې افشا شوی
Key terms: mystery, stewardship, manifold_wisdom, fullness
Review routing: Human theologian
راز is deeply embedded in the region’s Sufi poetic and devotional tradition (Rahman Baba, Khushal Khan Khattak) as an esoteric divine secret progressively unveiled only to a spiritual elite through a pir; Ephesians’ mystery is the opposite structure — a plan now fully and openly disclosed in the gospel to every believer, Jew and Gentile alike, requiring no mystical elite tier of access, and this contrast must be taught explicitly wherever the term is used.
Gifts for Building Up the Church
Pashto name: د کلیسا ودانولو لپاره ورکړې
Key terms: spiritual_gifts, apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor_shepherd, mature_man
Review routing: Human theologian
The evangelist office-title (د انجیل ویناوال) carries the same severe, potentially life-threatening safety risk already flagged for open gospel proclamation in the Romans baseline; additionally, apostle (رسول) and prophet (پیغمبر) office-titles collide with Muhammad’s own defining rasul/khatam al-anbiya titles and must be paired with fuller Christological and ecclesial framing so these gift-offices are not read as claims to Muhammad’s unique finality.
Walking in Newness of Life
Pashto name: په نوي ژوند کې ګرځېدل
Key terms: walk_ethical_conduct, old_self, one_new_man, imitators_of_god, filled_with_spirit
Review routing: Human theologian
The recurring چلند کول (‘walk’) motif structures the whole letter’s before/after ethical argument and must be rendered identically at every occurrence; additionally, ‘filled with the Spirit’ (5:18) must be distinguished from ecstatic trance states associated with some regional Sufi devotional practice, since Spirit-fullness here issues in sober, communal, relational fruit, not loss of self-control.
Assurance of Salvation
Pashto name: د نجات ډاډ
Key terms: seal_of_spirit, seated_with_christ, made_alive_with_christ
Review routing: Human theologian
Mainstream Islamic piety treats certainty of one’s own final salvation as presumptuous given the deeds-weighing framework; Ephesians grounds assurance in the Spirit’s seal (مهر کول) and believers’ present positional seating with Christ (سره کیناستل), both of which must be taught as God’s own settled, completed action, not a provisional or self-generated hope.
Universal Human Accountability
Pashto name: د انسان نړیواله مسئولیت
Key terms: sin, trespasses, flesh_ethical, wrath_of_god, sons_of_disobedience
Review routing: Human theologian
Islamic fitrah doctrine and Pashtunwali’s honor-shame-primary ethics both need to be engaged; ‘dead in trespasses and sins’ and ‘by nature children of wrath’ teach an inherited, birth-condition liability to God’s judgment that is a distinct category from either innate purity (fitrah) or dishonoring the tribal code, and must be taught as such rather than assimilated to either default framework.
Medium Risk Doctrines
Reconciliation and Peace with God
Pashto name: پخلاینه او د خدای سره سوله
Key terms: reconciliation, peace, dividing_wall
Review routing: Native speaker review
پخلاینه and سوله both resonate strongly with lived regional experience of feud-ending negotiation and war-ending settlement, a genuine positive cultural bridge; the one necessary calibration is that Christ’s reconciling work is achieved unilaterally through the cross, not negotiated bilaterally through mutual concession as in customary jirga-mediated peacemaking.
Prayer and Intercession
Pashto name: دعا او منځګړیتوب
Key terms: intercession, access, boldness_confidence, ambassador_in_chains
Review routing: Native speaker review
Paul’s repeated intercessory prayers and his call for prayer ‘for all the saints’ (6:18) extend the baseline’s existing nanawatai-mediation bridge; believers’ bold, unmediated access to God the Father in prayer (لاسرسی, زړورتوب) is a countercultural claim in a patron-client honor culture where ordinary persons do not customarily approach a powerful patriarch directly.
Low Risk Doctrines
Thanksgiving and Praise
Pashto name: شکر او ستاینه
Key terms: thanksgiving, blessing, glory
Review routing: Automated review
شکر is also a major Islamic virtue and broadly compatible; low independent collision risk beyond ensuring thanksgiving remains anchored to the specific Christ-centered blessings enumerated in 1:3-14 rather than generalized gratitude.
