Doctrine Analysis
Doctrine Analysis: Galatians (English–Pashto)
This document is the full doctrine matrix for Galatians 1–6, produced under PRD Phase 1 Step 4. It is fully consistent with assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json (Galatians edition): the same 19 doctrines, the same risk tiers, the same review routing. It extends — and does not contradict — the baseline Romans doctrine_risk_registry.json. The core passage (Galatians 2:15-21, Justification by Faith / Law and Grace) is the theological anchor of the curriculum, not its scope boundary; every chapter of the letter is analyzed below, including chapters that primarily restate or extend doctrines introduced earlier rather than introducing new ones.
Risk tier definitions (unchanged from baseline):
| Tier | Definition | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | Mistranslation alters or destroys essential doctrine | Human theologian, every occurrence |
| High | Mistranslation creates significant theological confusion or syncretism risk | Human theologian |
| Medium | Mistranslation reduces clarity but preserves essential meaning | Native speaker review |
| Low | Mistranslation causes minor misunderstanding or imprecision | Automated review |
Master Doctrine Matrix (All 19 Doctrines)
| # | Doctrine | Supporting Passages (Galatians) | Risk | Translation Risk Summary | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Justification by Faith | 2:15-16, 2:21, 3:6-9, 3:11, 3:24, 5:4-5 | Critical | ”Works of the law” (د ناموس کړنې) risks being heard as a blanket rejection of shari’a-keeping or of good deeds generally, rather than the specific target of reliance on Torah-identity markers (chiefly circumcision) as the ground of standing before God. | Human theologian |
| 2 | The True Gospel versus False Gospels | 1:6-9, 1:11-12, 2:5, 2:14 | Critical | ”Another gospel” (بل انجیل) must be marked as a condemned false claimant, never a legitimate alternative revelation, given the shared regional tahrif assumption that later revelation may supersede the NT record. | Human theologian |
| 3 | Paul’s Apostleship | 1:1, 1:11-17, 2:1-10, 6:17 | High | Unmediated divine commissioning structurally parallels the Islamic claim of Muhammad’s direct, unlettered revelation; must be balanced by 2:1-10’s confirmation from the Jerusalem apostles so it is not read as free-floating private revelation. | Human theologian |
| 4 | Law and Grace | 2:11-14, 2:19-21, 3:1-25, 4:8-11, 5:1-4 | Critical | Grace as a one-directional gift must be actively guarded against Pashtunwali’s melmastia-based reciprocity expectation throughout the extended chs. 3-5 argument; Peter’s compromise (2:11-14) is a cautionary case study, not a loophole. | Human theologian |
| 5 | Crucified with Christ | 2:20, 3:1, 3:13, 5:11, 5:24, 6:14, 6:17 | Critical | Compounds the Qur’anic crucifixion denial (4:157, shared root ص-ل-ب) with an honor-shame culture’s aversion to identifying with a shameful death; must never be softened to a mere self-denial metaphor and requires resurrection vindication paired at every occurrence. | Human theologian |
| 6 | The Abrahamic Covenant and Promise | 3:6-18, 3:29, 4:21-31 | Critical | Directly overturns the Qur’anic Ibrahim/Hajj paradigm; the Hagar-Sarah allegory (ch. 4) is likely the single most culturally sensitive passage in the letter given Hajira/Ismail’s venerated status in Islamic tradition. | Human theologian |
| 7 | The Law’s Purpose | 3:19-25, 3:1 | High | The law’s temporary custodial role (paidagōgos) has no exact Pashtunwali equivalent and must be distinguished from ongoing, non-terminating tribal-elder guardianship; the law’s mediated giving vs. the promise’s direct giving touches tawhid’s oneness emphasis and must pivot toward Christ’s unique mediatorship. | Human theologian |
| 8 | Adoption and Sonship | 3:26, 3:29, 4:1-7, 4:22-31 | Critical | Sharply reverses both Islamic farā’iḍ and Pashtunwali patrilineal inheritance defaults (Gentile, slave, and female believers as full heirs); the plural believer-sonship term must remain visibly distinct from Christ’s unique Sonship. | Human theologian |
| 9 | Freedom in Christ | 2:4, 5:1, 5:13 | High | ازادي is a politically resonant, positively-charged word given decades of regional conflict; must be explicitly anchored to freedom from the law’s condemnation and legalistic performance, not conflated with political/social liberation movements using the same word. | Human theologian |
| 10 | Circumcision and the New Creation | 2:3-5, 5:2-6, 6:12-15 | Critical | Khatna is a near-universal childhood practice for Pashtun Muslim males (unlike Paul’s adult Gentile audience); teaching emphasis must shift explicitly to circumcision as shorthand for law-works reliance, or the doctrine lands as irrelevant/confusing to nearly every male reader. | Human theologian |
| 11 | Flesh versus Spirit | 5:13, 5:16-21, 5:24, 6:8 | Critical | نفس bridges to Islamic/Sufi moral psychology (نفس اماره) but Sufi tradition frames victory as ascetic self-discipline, whereas Galatians teaches Spirit-empowered victory, not self-effort (3:3) — this distinction must be explicit at every occurrence. | Human theologian |
| 12 | Fruit of the Spirit | 5:22-23 | High | Must preserve the singular “fruit” (Spirit-produced) vs. plural “works” (human-produced, 5:19-21) contrast, and stay vocabulary-distinct from spiritual_gifts (روحاني ورکړې) so character is not confused with distributed ability. | Human theologian |
| 13 | Faith Working through Love | 5:6 | High | Must not be read as “faith plus loving works together justify” (re-importing works-righteousness against 2:16), nor flattened to bare intellectual assent without observable fruit. | Human theologian |
| 14 | Bearing One Another’s Burdens | 6:1-5, 6:9-10 | Medium | Genuine positive bridge with Pashtunwali mutual-aid custom; main risk is flattening Paul’s intentional distinction between shared communal burden (βάρος) and individual, non-transferable load (φορτίον) into one undifferentiated word. | Native speaker review |
| 15 | Divine Calling | 1:6, 1:15, 5:8, 5:13 | Medium | Everyday invitation-vocabulary; the direction of address (God calling a person to grace, freedom, or ministry) must be made explicit at each occurrence. | Native speaker review |
| 16 | Unity of Jews and Gentiles | 2:11-14, 3:28, 6:16 | High | 3:28’s “male and female” clause is a distinct high-risk addition beyond ethnic unity given strongly patriarchal Pashtun norms; “the Israel of God” (6:16) requires careful framing to avoid supersessionist misreading or unintended political charge. | Human theologian |
| 17 | Zeal and False Religious Motive | 1:13-14, 1:23, 4:17-18, 6:12-13 | Critical | غیرت directly names Pashtunwali’s honor-code animating concept, frequently invoked in contemporary regional rhetoric to justify religious-political militancy; every occurrence in Galatians presents zeal as misguided or self-serving, never as a model needing only redirection. | Human theologian |
| 18 | Sonship and Incarnation of Christ | 2:20, 4:4-6 | Critical | 4:4 compounds three Critical Christological doctrines (incarnation, sonship, humanity of Christ) in one verse; تجسد must be paired with the periphrastic “sent forth… born of woman, born under the law” per baseline guidance, given Pashto’s especially thin settled precedent. | Human theologian |
| 19 | The Curse of the Law and Christ’s Redemption | 3:10-14 | Critical | ”Became a curse” is doubly explosive: invokes the denied crucifixion and collides with the Islamic ismah doctrine (prophets protected from disgrace); requires explicit voluntary-substitutionary framing plus resurrection vindication. | Human theologian |
(Two further registry entries recur across chapters and are cross-referenced rather than double-counted in the risk summary below: “Church as a Persecuted New Covenant Community” [High] and “Warning Against Seeking Law-Righteousness and Assurance of Salvation” [High] — see full listing in the chapter sections and the totals table.)

Chapter-by-Chapter Doctrine Coverage
Galatians 1 — Gospel Origin, Apostleship, and Curse on False Teaching
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The True Gospel versus False Gospels | 1:6-9, 1:11-12 | Critical | Double anathema formula (1:8-9) against any rival gospel — even from an angel or Paul himself — is the letter’s strongest boundary marker; بل انجیل and لعنتی (anathema) must read as solemn covenantal condemnation, not folk-curse/evil-eye language. | Human theologian |
| Paul’s Apostleship | 1:1, 1:11-17 | High | Unmediated commissioning (“not from man”) parallels the Islamic direct-revelation claim for Muhammad; balance with continuity-of-Scripture framing. | Human theologian |
| Zeal and False Religious Motive | 1:13-14, 1:23 | Critical | Paul’s former غیرت for persecuting the church is presented as a negative example, not virtuous zeal in need of mere redirection — critical given contemporary regional resonance of this same honor-code concept. | Human theologian |
| Divine Calling | 1:6, 1:15 | Medium | ”Called you in the grace of Christ” (1:6) and “set apart… called me” (1:15) — direction of address (God to Paul/believers) must be explicit. | Native speaker review |
| Church as a Persecuted New Covenant Community | 1:13, 1:23 | High | Paul’s own violent persecution of the church is sober background for this readership’s own dispersed, often secret communities. | Human theologian |
Galatians 2 — Justification, Law and Grace, the Cross, Unity, Freedom (Core Passage Chapter)
Core passage: Galatians 2:15-21 (Justification by Faith / Law and Grace / Crucified with Christ / Sonship of Christ).
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Justification by Faith | 2:15-16, 2:21 | Critical | Thesis statement of the letter; “works of the law” must be distinguished from shari’a-keeping/good deeds generally as such, targeting specifically Torah-identity-marker reliance as the ground of standing. | Human theologian |
| Law and Grace | 2:11-14, 2:19-21 | Critical | Peter’s situational compromise at Antioch (2:11-14) is a cautionary case study for hypocrisy (دوه مخي, not منافقت); grace as non-reciprocal gift must be guarded against melmastia expectations. | Human theologian |
| Crucified with Christ | 2:20 | Critical | ”I have been crucified with Christ” — first and paradigm occurrence; must pair crucifixion-denial correction with resurrection vindication and avoid reduction to metaphorical self-denial. | Human theologian |
| Sonship and Incarnation of Christ | 2:20 | Critical | ”The Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” — co-equal, unique divine Sonship, not honorary/adoptive. | Human theologian |
| The True Gospel versus False Gospels | 2:5, 2:14 | Critical | ”Truth of the gospel” (د انجیل رښتیا) means doctrinal/behavioral integrity, not primarily a textual-preservation claim, though that resonance is unavoidable. | Human theologian |
| Freedom in Christ | 2:4 | High | ”False brothers” (درواغجن وروڼه) spying out freedom sets up ch. 5’s fuller freedom argument. | Human theologian |
| Circumcision and the New Creation | 2:3-5 | Critical | Titus test-case: circumcision not compelled — establishes the letter’s controlling principle before ch. 5-6 develop it fully. | Human theologian |
| Unity of Jews and Gentiles | 2:11-14 | High | Peter’s withdrawal from table fellowship with Gentiles is the concrete occasion for Paul’s rebuke; sets up 3:28 and 6:16. | Human theologian |
Galatians 3 — Abraham, the Curse, the Law’s Purpose, Sons and Heirs
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Abrahamic Covenant and Promise | 3:6-18, 3:29 | Critical | Abraham/Ibrahim as justified-by-faith paradigm (3:6, citing Gen 15:6 via imputed_righteousness) directly overturns the ritual/legal-submission-centered Qur’anic Ibrahim paradigm. | Human theologian |
| The Curse of the Law and Christ’s Redemption | 3:10-14 | Critical | Christ “became a curse” (لعنت شو) — collides with crucifixion denial and the ismah (prophetic-protection-from-disgrace) doctrine; requires explicit substitutionary and resurrection framing. | Human theologian |
| The Law’s Purpose | 3:19-25 | High | Law as temporary paidagōgos/guardian (روزونکی) until Christ; mediator (منځګړی, 3:19-20) touches tawhid’s oneness emphasis and must pivot to Christ’s unique mediatorship. | Human theologian |
| Justification by Faith | 3:6-9, 3:11, 3:24 | Critical | ”The law was our guardian until Christ, that we might be justified by faith” — reinforces ch. 2 thesis with OT proof-texts. | Human theologian |
| Unity of Jews and Gentiles | 3:28 | High | ”Neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female” — the “male and female” clause is a distinct high-risk addition given patriarchal norms; teach as positional equality in salvation standing, not general social egalitarianism detached from context. | Human theologian |
| Adoption and Sonship | 3:26, 3:29 | Critical | ”Sons of God through faith” and “Abraham’s offspring, heirs” — plural believer-sonship (د خدای زامن) must stay visibly distinct from Christ’s unique Sonship (د خدای زوی). | Human theologian |
Galatians 4 — Adoption, Abba, the Incarnation, and the Hagar-Sarah Allegory
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sonship and Incarnation of Christ | 4:4-6 | Critical | 4:4 (“God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law”) compounds incarnation, sonship, and humanity of Christ in one verse — pair تجسد with the full periphrastic sending-and-birth statement. | Human theologian |
| Adoption and Sonship | 4:1-7 | Critical | ”Abba, Father” (4:6) parallels Romans 8:15; heirship language (وارثان) reverses both Islamic farā’iḍ and Pashtunwali patrilineal defaults. | Human theologian |
| The Abrahamic Covenant and Promise | 4:21-31 | Critical | Hagar-Sarah allegory: most culturally sensitive passage in the letter given Hajira/Ismail’s venerated Hajj-central status in Islam; Paul’s covenant-typological (not ethnic) argument must never be heard as an ethnic/religious slight. | Human theologian |
| Zeal and False Religious Motive | 4:17-18 | Critical | False teachers’ manipulative غیرت (“zealous for you, but not for good”) — a second occurrence, distinct from ch. 1, still repudiated rather than endorsed. | Human theologian |
| Divine Calling | 4:9 (implicit; cf. 1:6, 5:8) | Medium | ”How can you turn back…” presumes an active prior divine calling now being abandoned; direction of address must remain explicit. | Native speaker review |
Galatians 5 — Freedom, Flesh versus Spirit, Fruit of the Spirit, Faith Working through Love
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Freedom in Christ | 5:1, 5:13 | High | ”For freedom Christ has set us free… do not submit again to a yoke of slavery” — ازادي’s political resonance must be explicitly anchored to freedom from law’s condemnation, not political liberation. | Human theologian |
| Circumcision and the New Creation | 5:2-6 | Critical | ”If you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you” — sharpest statement of the doctrine; must be taught as reliance-on-law-works, not a claim against the physical practice itself in isolation. | Human theologian |
| Warning Against Seeking Law-Righteousness and Assurance of Salvation | 5:4 | High | ”Severed from Christ… fallen from grace” must be harmonized with baseline assurance_of_salvation (Romans 8): warns against the self-defeating path of seeking law-justification, not against genuine believers’ security. | Human theologian |
| Faith Working through Love | 5:6 | High | ”Faith working through love” — faith’s necessary, organic fruit, never its ground; guard against re-importing works-righteousness. | Human theologian |
| Crucified with Christ | 5:11, 5:24 | Critical | ”Offense/stumbling block of the cross” (5:11) names the very reaction many Pashto readers already feel toward crucifixion — a teaching asset if handled directly; “crucified the flesh with its passions” (5:24) extends the doctrine to ongoing sanctification. | Human theologian |
| Flesh versus Spirit | 5:13, 5:16-21, 5:24 | Critical | نفس bridges to Sufi نفس اماره but Paul’s point is Spirit-empowered victory, not ascetic self-effort (cf. 3:3); works-of-the-flesh list includes زنا (sexual immorality — carries Islamic hadd-law penal associations, must be taught pastorally) and جادوګري (sorcery — ties to folk-magic belief). | Human theologian |
| Fruit of the Spirit | 5:22-23 | High | Singular “fruit” (Spirit-produced) vs. plural “works” (5:19-21, human-produced) contrast must be preserved; keep vocabulary-distinct from spiritual_gifts. | Human theologian |
| Divine Calling | 5:8, 5:13 | Medium | ”This persuasion is not from him who calls you” (5:8); “you were called to freedom” (5:13) — reinforces direction-of-address requirement. | Native speaker review |
Galatians 6 — Bearing Burdens, Sowing and Reaping, New Creation, Closing Marks
| Doctrine | Passages | Risk | Translation Risk | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bearing One Another’s Burdens | 6:1-5, 6:9-10 | Medium | Genuine positive bridge with Pashtunwali mutual-aid custom; preserve the shared-burden (بار) vs. individual-load (پېټی) distinction Paul intends between 6:2 and 6:5. | Native speaker review |
| Circumcision and the New Creation | 6:12-15 | Critical | False teachers compel circumcision “to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ” (6:12) — ties circumcision doctrine directly back to crucified_with_christ and zeal doctrines; “new creation” (نوی مخلوق) must convey decisive ontological renewal, not gradual self-improvement. | Human theologian |
| Zeal and False Religious Motive | 6:12-13 | Critical | False teachers’ motive is self-protective, not authentically religious — reinforces ch. 1 and ch. 4 occurrences; consistent negative framing required. | Human theologian |
| Unity of Jews and Gentiles | 6:16 | High | ”The Israel of God” — sits atop baseline political-sensitivity caution on اسرائیل and raises a genuine exegetical question (church vs. ethnic Israel) with supersessionist misreading potential. | Human theologian |
| Church as a Persecuted New Covenant Community | 6:10, 6:17 | High | ”Household of faith” (6:10) and Paul’s persecution-scars/marks of Jesus (6:17, د عیسی نښې) as apostolic authentication — must be distinguished from ritual self-mortification/scarification in regional folk-Sufi practice, and never assume open, public church life as the norm. | Human theologian |
| Crucified with Christ | 6:14, 6:17 | Critical | ”Far be it from me to boast except in the cross” — Paul’s paradoxical boasting in a shameful death inverts ordinary honor-shame logic; a deliberately countercultural teaching point requiring careful, direct handling rather than smoothing over. | Human theologian |
Coverage Confirmation
Every chapter of Galatians (1–6) has been analyzed above against the full 19-doctrine matrix defined in doctrine_risk_registry.json. No chapter was found to contribute zero doctrinal content; several doctrines (Crucified with Christ, Zeal and False Religious Motive, Circumcision and the New Creation, Divine Calling) recur across multiple chapters and are cross-referenced at each occurrence rather than treated as settled after their first appearance, consistent with the PRD’s full-book-coverage mandate. The core passage, Galatians 2:15-21, anchors five of the highest-risk doctrines simultaneously (Justification by Faith, Law and Grace, Crucified with Christ, Sonship and Incarnation of Christ, The True Gospel versus False Gospels) but is treated here as the curriculum’s theological center, not its scope boundary. Risk tiers, doctrine names, key terms, and review routing above are identical to assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json and introduce no contradictions with the Romans baseline registry.
Critical Risk Doctrines
Justification by Faith
Pashto name: په ایمان سره صادق ګڼل کیدل
Key terms: justification, righteousness, works of the law, faith in Christ, imputed_righteousness
Review routing: Human theologian
The letter’s thesis: a person is not declared righteous by works of the law (د ناموس کړنې) but through faith in Christ. Beyond the shared deeds-weighing framework, the term for ‘works of the law’ risks being heard as a blanket critique of shari’a-keeping or of good deeds generally rather than the specific target — reliance on Torah-identity markers, above all circumcision — as the basis of standing before God.
The True Gospel versus False Gospels
Pashto name: ریښتینی انجیل او درواغجن انجیلونه
Key terms: gospel, another_gospel, anathema, truth_of_the_gospel
Review routing: Human theologian
Paul’s double curse-formula against any rival gospel (even from an angel or himself) is the strongest possible doctrinal boundary-marker in the letter. In a context sharing the regional tahrif assumption that other or prior revelations may supersede the NT record, ‘another gospel’ (بل انجیل) must be unambiguously marked as a false, condemned claimant, never as a legitimate alternative scripture.
Law and Grace
Pashto name: ناموس او فضل
Key terms: law, grace, works_of_the_law, nullify, fallen_from_grace, hypocrisy, judaize
Review routing: Human theologian
Beyond the Romans baseline’s law/grace collision with both shari’a and Pashtunwali, Galatians adds Peter’s own situational compromise (2:11-14) as a cautionary case study; grace as a one-directional gift must be guarded against Pashtunwali’s melmastia-based expectation of reciprocity throughout the chs. 3-5 argument.
Crucified with Christ
Pashto name: له مسیح سره صلیب کیدل
Key terms: cross, crucified_with_christ, curse_of_the_law, stumbling_block_of_cross, boasting
Review routing: Human theologian
Compounds the Qur’an’s crucifixion denial (4:157, sharing the root ص-ل-ب with صلیب) with an honor-shame culture’s aversion to identifying with a shameful, criminal death. Must never be softened to mere self-denial metaphor; requires oral/narrative apologetic support and pairing with resurrection vindication at every occurrence.
The Abrahamic Covenant and Promise
Pashto name: د ابراهیم تړون او وعده
Key terms: abraham, covenant, promise, seed_of_promise, hagar_ishmael, sarah_isaac, jerusalem_above_present
Review routing: Human theologian
Directly overturns the Qur’anic Ibrahim paradigm centered on ritual/legal submission (Hajj origins). The Hagar-Sarah allegory (ch. 4) is likely the single most culturally sensitive passage in the letter, since Hajira and Ismail are venerated Hajj-central figures in Islamic tradition; Paul’s covenant-typological argument (law vs. promise) must never be heard as an ethnic or religious slight against Ishmael’s line or the broader Muslim community.
Adoption and Sonship
Pashto name: زوی نیول او زوی توب
Key terms: adoption, sons_of_god_believers, abba, father, son_of_god, heirs
Review routing: Human theologian
Beyond the shared Qur’anic restriction on adoption, Pashtun identity and inheritance follow a rigid patrilineal tribal genealogy (qawm/khel); Paul’s declaration that Gentile, slave, and even female believers become full heirs alongside free Jewish males sharply reverses both Islamic farā’iḍ and Pashtunwali inheritance defaults and must be taught explicitly against this default. The plural believer-sonship term must remain visibly distinct from Christ’s unique Sonship.
Circumcision and the New Creation
Pashto name: ختنه او نوی مخلوق
Key terms: circumcision, new_creation, unity_formula
Review routing: Human theologian
Uniquely acute for Pashto compared to other languages in this pipeline: khatna is a near-universal childhood religious/cultural practice for virtually all Pashtun Muslim males, unlike Paul’s adult Gentile audience for whom it was a live choice. The teaching emphasis must shift explicitly to circumcision as shorthand for reliance on law-works/Torah-identity, or the doctrine will land as irrelevant or confusing to nearly every male reader.
Flesh versus Spirit
Pashto name: نفس او روح
Key terms: flesh_spirit, works_of_the_flesh, opportunity_for_flesh, sexual_immorality, idolatry, sorcery, elemental_spirits
Review routing: Human theologian
نفس is a genuine bridge to Islamic/Sufi moral psychology (نفس اماره, Q12:53), but Sufi tradition frames victory over the نفس as ascetic self-discipline, whereas Galatians teaches victory comes by walking in the Spirit’s active work, not self-effort — the very point Paul argues against (3:3). Without this explicit distinction at every occurrence, the doctrine risks being absorbed into an existing self-effort framework.
Zeal and False Religious Motive
Pashto name: غیرت او درواغجن مذهبي انګیزه
Key terms: zeal, anathema, circumcision
Review routing: Human theologian
غیرت directly names Pashtunwali’s honor-code animating concept, frequently invoked in contemporary regional rhetoric to justify religious-political militancy. The text presents Paul’s former zeal for persecuting the church, and the false teachers’ manipulative zeal for compelling circumcision to avoid persecution (6:12), as misguided or self-serving — never as a model of good zeal needing only redirection. This must be handled with extreme care given real, contemporary parallels in the readership’s lived experience.
Sonship and Incarnation of Christ
Pashto name: د مسیح زوی توب او تجسد
Key terms: son_of_god, incarnation, curse_of_the_law
Review routing: Human theologian
Galatians 4:4 (‘God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law’) compounds three Critical doctrines from the Romans baseline (incarnation, sonship, humanity of Christ) in a single verse; the technical noun تجسد must be paired with the periphrastic sending-and-birth statement per baseline guidance, since Pashto’s Christian tradition offers the least settled precedent for this term of any language in this pipeline.
The Curse of the Law and Christ’s Redemption
Pashto name: د ناموس لعنت او د مسیح خلاصون
Key terms: curse_of_the_law, redeem, cross
Review routing: Human theologian
The claim that Christ ‘became a curse for us’ is doubly explosive: it invokes the denied crucifixion and collides with the Islamic doctrine that prophets are protected from disgrace (ismah), making a ‘cursed’ Messiah deeply counter-intuitive unless explicitly taught as voluntary, substitutionary curse-bearing followed by resurrection vindication.
High Risk Doctrines
Paul’s Apostleship
Pashto name: د پولوس رسالت
Key terms: apostle, apostolic_revelation, set_apart, boasting
Review routing: Human theologian
Collides with Muhammad’s rasul title as in the Romans baseline, sharpened here by Paul’s insistence on unmediated divine commissioning, which structurally parallels the Islamic claim of Muhammad’s direct, unlettered revelation. Must be distinguished by noting Paul’s message is continuous with prior Scripture and was still confirmed by the Jerusalem apostles (2:1-10), not free-floating private revelation.
The Law’s Purpose
Pashto name: د ناموس موخه
Key terms: law, law_as_guardian, mediator, imprisoned_under_sin, bewitched
Review routing: Human theologian
The law’s temporary, custodial role (paidagōgos, 3:24-25) has no exact Pashtunwali equivalent institution and must be distinguished from ongoing tribal-elder guardianship, which does not terminate; the law’s mediated giving vs. the promise’s direct giving (3:19-20) is a point of positive contact with tawhid’s emphasis on God’s oneness that must be carefully pivoted toward Christ’s unique mediatorial role.
Freedom in Christ
Pashto name: په مسیح کې ازادي
Key terms: freedom, false_brothers, yoke_of_slavery, enslaved_through_love, unity_formula
Review routing: Human theologian
ازادي is a politically resonant, positively-charged word given decades of conflict in the Pashto-speaking world; this teaching must be explicitly anchored to freedom from the law’s condemnation and legalistic performance, not conflated with political or social liberation movements invoking the same word.
Fruit of the Spirit
Pashto name: د روح القدس مېوه
Key terms: fruit_of_the_spirit, love_fruit, joy, patience, kindness_goodness, faithfulness_fruit, gentleness_self_control, spiritual_gifts
Review routing: Human theologian
Must preserve Paul’s deliberate contrast of plural, human-produced ‘works’ of the flesh versus singular, Spirit-produced ‘fruit,’ and must be kept vocabulary-distinct from spiritual_gifts (روحاني ورکړې) so Spirit-formed character is not confused with Spirit-distributed abilities.
Faith Working through Love
Pashto name: هغه ایمان چې د مینې له لارې کار کوي
Key terms: faith_working_through_love, faith, love_fruit
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be calibrated so it is never read as ‘faith plus loving works together justify,’ which would reintroduce works-righteousness against 2:16’s central polemic, nor be flattened to bare intellectual assent without observable fruit; it names faith’s necessary, organic expression, not its ground.
Unity of Jews and Gentiles
Pashto name: د یهودیانو او غیریهودیانو یووالی
Key terms: gentiles, unity_formula, israel_of_god, heirs
Review routing: Human theologian
Reinforces the baseline doctrine with Galatians’ own sharpest statement (3:28, including the culturally sensitive ‘male and female’ clause) and its most exegetically ambiguous closing reference (‘the Israel of God,’ 6:16), which requires careful framing to avoid either supersessionist misreading or unintended political charge around the name اسرائیل.
Church as a Persecuted New Covenant Community
Pashto name: د زیارکښل شوي نوي تړون قوم په توګه کلیسا
Key terms: church, false_brothers, marks_of_jesus, household_of_faith
Review routing: Human theologian
Paul’s own former violent persecution of the church (1:13) and his closing appeal to his persecution-scars (6:17) as apostolic authentication carry direct, sober relevance for this readership’s own dispersed, often secret communities; must never be taught as though open, public church life is the assumed norm.
Warning Against Seeking Law-Righteousness and Assurance of Salvation
Pashto name: د ناموس له لارې صداقت لټولو خلاف خبرداری او د نجات ډاډ
Key terms: fallen_from_grace, faith, grace
Review routing: Human theologian
Galatians 5:4’s severe warning (‘severed from Christ,’ ‘fallen from grace’) must be harmonized with the baseline’s assurance_of_salvation doctrine (Romans 8) so the two are not read as flatly contradictory: this warns against the self-defeating path of seeking justification through law-works, not against the security of those resting in genuine faith.
Medium Risk Doctrines
Bearing One Another’s Burdens
Pashto name: د یو بل درانه بارونه پورته کول
