Cross-Reference Analysis

Cross-Reference and Theme Analysis — 1 Corinthians | English → Nepali

Methodology

This document catalogs every Old Testament quotation, Old Testament allusion, messianic reference, and typological pattern in 1 Corinthians 1–16, plus every direct parallel to the Romans curriculum already translated for Nepali under the baseline Language Package. Citations follow the normalized format Book Chapter:Verse (e.g., Genesis 15:6, 1 Corinthians 15:3) so they remain machine-checkable and portable across TRI curricula. Where a passage’s rendering must match another curriculum’s established rendering exactly, this is flagged explicitly under Rendering-Consistency Rules (Part 4). Every chapter of 1 Corinthians is represented, including chapters with only thematic (non-quotation) connections, which are noted as reviewed rather than omitted.

PART 1 — CORE PASSAGE: 1 Corinthians 15:1–11

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 15:1-2Gospel as the ground of ongoing salvationPaul, the Corinthian churchNT parallel: Romans 1:16-17 (gospel as the power of God for salvation, received by faith)The Nepali rendering of “gospel” (सुसमाचार) and “saved” (उद्धार) must be identical to the Romans 1:16 rendering, since this passage functions as 1 Corinthians’ own thesis-statement parallel to Romans’ thesis.
1 Corinthians 15:3Christ died for our sinsChristOT: Isaiah 53:5-6, 8-12 (Suffering Servant, “he was pierced for our transgressions… for the sin of my people”); also echoes Leviticus 4-5, 16 (sin-bearing sacrifice)Critical. The substitutionary “for our sins” (हाम्रा पापहरूको निम्ति) must preserve exchange/substitution, not mere causation, matching the baseline’s “imputed_righteousness” and “justification” doctrinal safeguards from Romans (Romans 3:24-25, 4:25).
1 Corinthians 15:3”according to the Scriptures” (fulfillment formula)OT: general fulfillment formula pointing to Isaiah 53 and Psalm 16 togetherHigh. पवित्रशास्त्र (never धर्मशास्त्र); parallels the baseline’s “Fulfillment of Prophecy” doctrine (Romans 1:2-4, 3:21).
1 Corinthians 15:4Buried, raised on the third dayChristOT: Psalm 16:10 (cited directly in Acts 2:25-31, “you will not let your Holy One see corruption”); possible background allusion to Hosea 6:2 (“on the third day he will raise us up”) — scholarly opinion is divided on whether Paul intends Hosea 6:2 as a direct source; render any translator note with appropriate caution rather than asserting certaintyCritical. पुनरुत्थान, never पुनर्जन्म. This is the doctrinal center of the whole letter; see baseline “resurrection_of_christ” doctrine (Romans 1:4, 4:25, 6:4-5, 8:11).
1 Corinthians 15:5-8Resurrection eyewitnesses (Cephas, the Twelve, 500 brothers, James, all the apostles, Paul)Cephas/Peter, the Twelve, James, PaulNT parallel: the resurrection-appearance narratives in the Gospels (Luke 24, John 20-21, Matthew 28)Critical. देखा पर्नुभयो, never दर्शन (Hindu devotional temple-sighting). The eyewitness list functions as historical evidentiary testimony, not devotional vision literature.
1 Corinthians 15:9Paul persecuted the church of GodPaul, the churchNT parallel: Acts 8:1-3, 9:1-19; Galatians 1:13 (future curriculum) — same autobiographical claimMedium. Ensure “church of God” (परमेश्वरको मण्डली) matches baseline मण्डली exactly; avoid मन्दिर/गुम्बा.
1 Corinthians 15:10Grace, not merit, as the ground of apostolic laborPaulNT parallel: Romans 11:5-6 (“if by grace, then it is no longer on the basis of works… grace would no longer be grace”); Ephesians 2:8-9 (future curriculum)High. अनुग्रह must be reinforced against both Hindu पुण्य and Buddhist merit-accumulation frameworks, exactly as required at every grace-occurrence in Romans.
1 Corinthians 15:11Shared, consistent apostolic proclamationPaul, other apostlesNT parallel: Galatians 1:6-9 (future curriculum) — the same gospel content, no rival gospel permittedHigh. Evangelism-proclamation language (प्रचार गर्छौं) must not read as illegal-recruitment-style solicitation, per the baseline’s Nepal-specific “Evangelism” doctrine rating (Muluki Criminal Code 2017).

PART 2 — FULL-BOOK CHAPTER-BY-CHAPTER CROSS-REFERENCES

Chapter 1 — Christian Unity versus Factionalism; The Cross as Wisdom and Power

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 1:19God will destroy human wisdomOT quotation: Isaiah 29:14High. बुद्धि (wisdom) shares a root with बोधि/बुद्ध; must not read as God opposing “enlightenment” generically, but specifically opposing self-sufficient human cleverness set against the cross.
1 Corinthians 1:24, 30Christ as the wisdom and power of GodChristTypological fulfillment of OT Wisdom traditions (cf. Proverbs 8:22-31, wisdom personified)Critical. Must not suggest Christ is one wisdom-figure among several divine emanations; preserves the baseline’s “Deity of Christ” safeguard.
1 Corinthians 1:31”Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord”OT quotation: Jeremiah 9:23-24High. This exact quotation recurs verbatim in 2 Corinthians 10:17 (a likely future curriculum); the Nepali rendering established here must be reused without variation there.

Chapter 2 — The Cross as Wisdom and Power (continued)

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 2:9Hidden things God has prepared for those who love himOT (free/composite citation): Isaiah 64:4; thematically resonant with Isaiah 65:17High. Must be taught as revealed to all who love God through the Spirit (2:10), not esoteric knowledge reserved for an initiated few — direct collision risk with Vajrayana/Tantric initiation-restricted teaching already flagged for “mystery” (रहस्य).
1 Corinthians 2:16”Who has known the mind of the Lord…we have the mind of Christ”OT quotation: Isaiah 40:13High. Distinguish shared revealed understanding from ontological merging with a universal mind (Brahman-realization or Buddha-nature attainment); the “mind of Christ” is relational/revelatory, not absorptive.

Chapter 3 — Christian Unity versus Factionalism; Church Discipline and Holiness

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 3:19God catches the wise in their craftinessOT quotation: Job 5:13Low.
1 Corinthians 3:20The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise are futileOT quotation: Psalm 94:11Low.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17The church as God’s temple (corporate)ChurchTypological fulfillment of the OT tabernacle/temple (Exodus 25-40; 1 Kings 6-8) as the locus of God’s dwelling presenceHigh. मन्दिर used metaphorically only; must carry a clarifying gloss distinguishing this from a literal Hindu मन्दिर, consistent with glossary flag.

Chapter 4 — Christian Unity versus Factionalism

Reviewed: no direct OT quotation. Thematic connection: 1 Corinthians 4:1 (“stewards of the mysteries of God”) echoes the same μυστήριον theme as chapter 2; 1 Corinthians 4:9 (“spectacle to the world”) has no OT source text. No new cross-reference risk beyond what chapters 1–2 already establish.

Chapter 5 — Church Discipline and Holiness

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 5:7”Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed”Christ; typologically, the Exodus generationOT typology: Exodus 12:1-13, 21-27 (the Passover lamb)High. Sacrificial-substitution typology parallel to the baseline’s atonement-adjacent doctrines; requires an explanatory note on Passover background for readers without prior OT exposure, exactly as flagged for “seed of David” in Romans.
1 Corinthians 5:13”Purge the evil person from among you”OT quotation: Deuteronomy 17:7 (cf. formulaic expulsion language in Deuteronomy 13:5, 19:19, 22:21,24, 24:7)High. Church discipline doctrine must be sharply distinguished from Nepal’s own history of caste-based social excommunication/untouchability (codified until the 1963 Muluki Ain reform); this discipline is corrective and restoration-aimed, never a permanent caste-like exclusion.

Chapter 6 — Church Discipline and Holiness

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 6:16”The two shall become one flesh”Adam, Eve (implicit)OT quotation: Genesis 2:24Medium. This quotation also anchors marriage theology in Ephesians 5:31 (a likely future curriculum); flag for future cross-curriculum consistency once that package exists.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20”Bought with a price”; temple of the Holy Spirit (individual)BelieverTypological: OT redemption-from-Egypt/kinsman-redeemer imagery (Exodus 6:6, Leviticus 25:47-55)High. Must preserve liberating, grace-grounded redemption imagery; must not evoke lingering cultural memory of literal bonded-labor arrangements (e.g., the kamaiya system) in a way that inverts the metaphor’s intended meaning.

Chapter 7 — Marriage and Singleness

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 7:2-5Marriage as mutual, exclusive obligationImplicit background: Genesis 1:27-28, 2:18-24 (creation of marriage)Medium. No direct quotation, but the creation-order background should be made explicit for readers, since Nepali social marriage-expectation norms are strong and could otherwise be read into the text uncritically.
1 Corinthians 7:19”Neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision”NT parallel: Romans 2:25-29 (circumcision of the heart, not the flesh); Galatians 5:6, 6:15 (future curriculum)High. “Circumcision” (proposed: खतना) is not yet a baseline translation-memory entry from Romans, even though Romans itself discusses circumcision at length (2:25-29, 4:9-12). This is a gap in the existing Language Package; this curriculum should propose खतना as a new shared term for future harmonization with both Romans and Galatians.

Chapter 8 — Christian Liberty and Idol Meat

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 8:4, 6”There is no God but one”; “one God, the Father… one Lord, Jesus Christ”Christ, the FatherOT quotation/echo: Deuteronomy 6:4 (the Shema)Critical. This is an early Christological restatement of Israel’s monotheism, including Christ within the identity of the one God — a direct parallel to the baseline’s “Deity of Christ” doctrine (Romans 9:5). In Nepal’s actively polytheistic devotional landscape, exclusive monotheism must be preserved without softening, while Christ’s inclusion within that one God’s identity must be equally preserved without demotion to a lesser or created being.
1 Corinthians 8:1-13Idol meat and the weaker brother’s conscienceThematic background: Exodus 20:3-5, Deuteronomy 4:15-19 (prohibition of idolatry)High. Direct collision with the live Nepali practice of प्रसाद (food ritually offered to a deity and shared); see doctrine notes in the Core Glossary.

Chapter 9 — Christian Liberty and Idol Meat (continued); Apostleship

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 9:9”You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain”OT quotation: Deuteronomy 25:4Medium. Also quoted in 1 Timothy 5:18 (likely future curriculum); the Nepali agricultural-labor rendering established here should be reused identically there.
1 Corinthians 9:13Temple ministers eating from the altar’s offeringsLevitical priestsOT background: Numbers 18:8-20, Deuteronomy 18:1-8Medium.

Chapter 10 — Christian Liberty and Idol Meat; The Lord’s Supper (anticipated)

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 10:1-2The wilderness generation “baptized” through the seaMoses, IsraelOT typology: Exodus 13:21-22, 14:19-29High. First typological grounding of “baptism” (बप्तिस्मा) language in this curriculum, tied to God’s historical deliverance of Israel — reinforces that Christian baptism is a unique, deliverance-marking event, not repeatable ritual bathing.
1 Corinthians 10:3-4Spiritual food and drink; “the Rock was Christ”Christ (typified as the Rock), Moses, IsraelOT typology: Exodus 16 (manna); Exodus 17:6, Numbers 20:8-11 (water from the rock); “Rock” as a divine title, cf. Deuteronomy 32:4, 15, 18Critical. Identifies Christ as personally, actively present with Israel in the wilderness before the incarnation — a pre-existence and deity claim. Must align fully with the baseline’s Critical-tier “Deity of Christ” and “Incarnation” safeguards; never suggest a repeatable, avatar-style divine appearance.
1 Corinthians 10:5God’s judgment on the wilderness generationIsraelOT background: Numbers 14:16, 26:65Medium. Functions as a warning against presumption, thematically parallel to Romans 11:20-22 (warning against Gentile presumption toward the olive tree).
1 Corinthians 10:7”The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play”Israel (golden calf incident)OT quotation: Exodus 32:6High. Idolatrous ritual-feast typology directly parallel to the contemporary प्रसाद collision already flagged for “food offered to idols” (ch.8).
1 Corinthians 10:8Sexual immorality resulting in judgment (23,000 fell)IsraelOT background: Numbers 25:1-9Medium.
1 Corinthians 10:9”Nor put Christ to the test, as some of them did”Israel, ChristOT background: Numbers 21:5-6High. Again identifies the pre-incarnate Christ as the divine one tested by Israel in the wilderness.
1 Corinthians 10:10Destroyed by the DestroyerIsraelOT background: Numbers 16:41-49; cf. Exodus 12:23Low-Medium.
1 Corinthians 10:20”What pagans sacrifice they offer to demons, not to God”OT quotation/echo: Deuteronomy 32:17; cf. Psalm 106:37High. Directly relevant to Nepal’s active jhākri/dhāmi shamanic and Tantric ritual-offering practices already flagged for the Lord’s Supper doctrine.
1 Corinthians 10:21Cup/table of the Lord vs. cup/table of demonsTypological/thematic echo of OT sacrificial-table exclusivity (cf. Malachi 1:7, 12, “the table of the Lord”)High. See Core Glossary §8; genuine spiritual exclusivity, not dietary preference.
1 Corinthians 10:22Provoking the Lord to jealousyOT quotation/echo: Deuteronomy 32:21Medium.
1 Corinthians 10:26”The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it”OT quotation: Psalm 24:1Low. Grounds Christian liberty regarding ordinary food purchased in the marketplace.

Chapter 11 — Order in Worship; The Lord’s Supper

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 11:7-9Man as “the image and glory of God”; woman “from man”Adam, EveOT background: Genesis 1:26-27, 2:18-23Medium-High. Creation-order argument; “image” (स्वरूप, avoiding प्रतिमूर्ति’s मूर्ति root) should anchor future renderings of “image of God” wherever a Genesis-focused curriculum is developed.
1 Corinthians 11:23-25Institution of the Lord’s Supper; “this cup is the new covenant in my blood”ChristOT background/fulfillment: Exodus 24:8 (covenant-ratifying blood); Jeremiah 31:31-34 (new covenant promise)Critical. “New covenant” must render as नयाँ करार, reusing the baseline’s करार term exactly (per baseline note: “नयाँ करार = New Testament/New Covenant”). Directly continues the baseline’s Davidic/New Covenant fulfillment trajectory from Romans.

Chapter 12 — Spiritual Gifts and the Body of Christ

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 12:12-27One body, many membersNT direct parallel: Romans 12:4-5High — MAJOR CROSS-CURRICULUM PARALLEL. See Part 4 rendering-consistency rule below; the body-metaphor vocabulary must match Romans exactly.
1 Corinthians 12:13”Baptized into one body… Jews or Greeks, slaves or free”NT thematic parallel: Romans’s “Unity of Jews and Gentiles” doctrine (Romans 3:29-30, 10:12, 11:17-24); also Galatians 3:28 (future curriculum)High. Reinforces the baseline’s caste-hierarchy-relevant “Unity of Jews and Gentiles” doctrine, now extended to every social distinction present in the Corinthian church.

Chapter 13 — Love as the Greater Way

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 13:1-13Love (ἀγάπη) as the greater way, surpassing all spiritual giftsNT direct thematic parallel: Romans 13:8-10 (“the one who loves another has fulfilled the law”); Romans 5:5 (God’s love poured into believers’ hearts by the Spirit)High — MAJOR CROSS-CURRICULUM PARALLEL. See Part 4; the Romans baseline package has no dedicated “love” glossary entry, so प्रेम as established here becomes the anchor term going forward.

Chapter 14 — Order in Worship; Spiritual Gifts and the Body of Christ (continued)

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 14:21”By people of strange tongues… I will speak to this people”OT quotation: Isaiah 28:11-12High. Applied to tongues as a covenantal sign; must not be read as endorsing generic ecstatic-speech phenomena associated with shamanic ritual practice.
1 Corinthians 14:34”As the Law also says” (disputed OT referent)Adam, Eve (possible referent)OT background (disputed): possibly Genesis 3:16Medium. The scholarly uncertainty of the OT referent should be preserved in any translator note; do not assert a specific OT text with unwarranted certainty. Flag for theologian review given the passage’s broader interpretive complexity.

Chapter 15 — The Resurrection of Christ and Believers (vv.1-11 treated in Part 1; vv.12-58 below)

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 15:20-22Christ the firstfruits; “as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive”Adam, ChristOT background: Genesis 2:7, 3:19 (Adam’s mortality); Leviticus 23:10-11 (firstfruits offering typology)Critical — DIRECT PARALLEL to Romans 5:12-21 (the Adam-Christ typology). आदम must be rendered identically in both curricula, and the structural “in Adam…in Christ” contrast phrasing should mirror the Romans rendering wherever both texts are studied together.
1 Corinthians 15:25”Until he has put all his enemies under his feet”ChristOT quotation: Psalm 110:1High. A foundational messianic enthronement text; conceptually parallel to Romans 8:34 (“Christ…who is at the right hand of God”), though Romans does not quote the psalm directly. Ensure a consistent messianic-enthronement reading across both.
1 Corinthians 15:27”He has put all things in subjection under his feet”ChristOT quotation: Psalm 8:6Medium.
1 Corinthians 15:32”Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die”OT quotation: Isaiah 22:13 (cf. Ecclesiastes 8:15, thematic parallel)Low-Medium. Quoted by Paul disapprovingly as the logic of despair he rejects; a translator note should clarify this is not an endorsed teaching.
1 Corinthians 15:33”Bad company ruins good morals”NOT Scripture — a quotation from the Greek poet Menander (Thaïs); non-biblical literary citationMedium. Must not be footnoted or treated as an Old Testament citation; note the distinction between Paul quoting secular literature for a true observation versus quoting inspired Scripture.
1 Corinthians 15:45”The first man Adam became a living being”; “the last Adam”Adam, ChristOT quotation (closely following LXX wording): Genesis 2:7Critical. Same Adam-Christ typology as 15:21-22 above; also parallels Romans 5:14 (“Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come”).
1 Corinthians 15:54-55”Death is swallowed up in victory”; “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”OT quotation: Isaiah 25:8; Hosea 13:14High. Eschatological victory-over-death doctrine; अमरता must be distinguished from the Samudra Manthan अमृत mythic framing (gods and demons contending for the nectar of immortality) already flagged in the Core Glossary.

Chapter 16 — Christian Fellowship; Closing Instructions

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
1 Corinthians 16:1-4The collection for the saints (Jerusalem)Paul, the Corinthian and Galatian churchesNT direct historical connection: Romans 15:25-28 (the same collection project, en route to its Jerusalem delivery)Medium. This is the same historical fundraising effort referenced in Romans; study materials connecting the two curricula should note the narrative continuity (Paul organizing this collection across multiple churches).
1 Corinthians 16:20”Greet one another with a holy kiss”NT direct parallel: Romans 16:16 (identical apostolic instruction, verbatim)High — MUST match the Romans 16:16 rendering exactly, once that verse is translated, since this is a repeated verbatim apostolic greeting formula across both letters.
1 Corinthians 16:22Maranatha (“Our Lord, come!”)Aramaic liturgical invocation; structural parallel to “Abba” (Romans 8:15) as a preserved Aramaic transliterationMedium. Requires the same kind of brief explanatory gloss on first use that अब्बा received in the Romans package.

PART 3 — MESSIANIC REFERENCES AND TYPOLOGICAL PATTERNS SUMMARY

TypePassage(s)OT RootTheological SignificanceNepali Risk Note
Christ as Passover Lamb1 Corinthians 5:7Exodus 12:1-13Christ’s death as the fulfillment/replacement of the Passover sacrifice, delivering from sin’s judgment as the lamb’s blood delivered Israel from deathHigh — sacrificial substitution typology; requires OT background explanation.
Christ as the Rock1 Corinthians 10:4Exodus 17:6; Numbers 20:8-11; Deuteronomy 32:4,15,18Christ’s personal, active pre-existence and provision for Israel in the wildernessCritical — deity/pre-existence of Christ; never suggest a repeatable avatar-style manifestation.
Christ as the Last Adam1 Corinthians 15:21-22, 45-49Genesis 2:7; 3:17-19Christ as the covenantal head of a new, resurrected humanity, reversing Adam’s death-bringing headshipCritical — direct parallel to Romans 5:12-21; consistent आदम rendering required across both curricula.
Suffering Servant fulfilled1 Corinthians 15:3Isaiah 53:5-6, 8-12Christ’s substitutionary death “for our sins, according to the Scriptures”Critical — core doctrinal anchor of the whole book.
Davidic/Messianic enthronement1 Corinthians 15:25, 27Psalm 110:1; Psalm 8:6Christ’s present reign and coming universal subjection of all powers, until he hands the kingdom to the FatherHigh — messianic kingship; connects to baseline “Kingdom Mission” and “Davidic Covenant” doctrines from Romans.
New Covenant instituted1 Corinthians 11:25Jeremiah 31:31-34; Exodus 24:8The Lord’s Supper as the ongoing covenant meal of the new covenant sealed in Christ’s bloodCritical — नयाँ करार, reusing baseline करार exactly.
Wilderness generation as typological warning1 Corinthians 10:1-11Exodus 13-17; Numbers 14, 16, 21, 25Old covenant Israel’s failures as a pattern warning the new covenant church against idolatry, immorality, and testing GodHigh — direct collision risk with contemporary Nepali ritual-offering practice (प्रसाद, jhākri/Tantric rites).

PART 4 — CROSS-CURRICULUM PARALLELS TO ROMANS AND RENDERING-CONSISTENCY RULES

#1 Corinthians PassageRomans Parallel PassageShared ConceptRendering-Consistency Rule
11 Corinthians 15:21-22, 45-49Romans 5:12-21; 5:14Adam-Christ typologyUse the identical Nepali proper name आदम in both curricula. Preserve the same structural “आदममा…ख्रीष्टमा” (in Adam…in Christ) parallelism established in whichever curriculum is finalized first.
21 Corinthians 12:12-27Romans 12:4-5One body, many membersThe body-metaphor vocabulary (शरीर for “body,” अंग for “member”) must match exactly across both curricula; do not introduce a synonym in either document.
31 Corinthians 13:1-13Romans 13:8-10; Romans 5:5Love as the fulfillment/greater wayThe Romans baseline package has no dedicated “love” (ἀγάπη) glossary entry. This curriculum’s प्रेम (with its required contextual framing against romantic/bhakti connotations) should be formally added to the shared translation memory as the anchor rendering for ἀγάπη across all future curricula, including retroactive application to Romans 5:5, 5:8, 8:35, 8:39, 13:8-10 if those documents are revised.
41 Corinthians 16:20Romans 16:16”Greet one another with a holy kiss” (verbatim repeated instruction)Render identically in both documents once both are finalized; flag for cross-document QA check at Phase 2 Step 17.
51 Corinthians 16:1-4Romans 15:25-28The collection for the Jerusalem saints (same historical project)चन्दा सङ्कलन (established here) should be reused for the Romans 15 passage if/when that document is revised, to preserve narrative continuity for students studying both letters.
61 Corinthians 10:1-4Romans 6:3-4 (baptism into Christ’s death); Romans 5:12-21 (Adam)Typological baptism/deliverance imagery; corporate solidarityEnsure बप्तिस्मा (newly established in this curriculum) is compatible with any future baptismal-theology rendering needed in Romans 6, since Romans’ own baseline package does not yet include a “baptism” entry — a gap this curriculum surfaces and partially fills.
71 Corinthians 10:3-4, 9Romans 9:5; Romans 1:3-4Deity and pre-existence of ChristMust align with the baseline’s Critical-tier “Deity of Christ” and “Incarnation” conventions: never अवतार-adjacent phrasing suggesting repeatable divine manifestation.
81 Corinthians 11:23-25Romans (Davidic Covenant doctrine, 1:3, 9:5, 15:12)New covenant fulfillmentनयाँ करार must reuse बaseline करार exactly; do not substitute सम्झौता.
91 Corinthians 7:19Romans 2:25-29; 4:9-12Circumcision as a theological non-issue under the New Covenant”Circumcision” has no existing baseline term. Propose खतना as a new shared entry, to be confirmed in Phase 1 Step 2 and applied consistently if Romans 2 or 4 materials are ever revised, and in any future Galatians curriculum.
101 Corinthians 1:31(Romans has no direct parallel quotation, but shares the grace-not-boasting theme of Romans 3:27, 4:2)“Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord” (Jeremiah 9:23-24)Establish the Nepali rendering of this exact OT quotation here; reuse verbatim if any future curriculum (e.g., 2 Corinthians) quotes the same verse.

Summary Note on Full-Book Coverage

All sixteen chapters of 1 Corinthians have been reviewed for Old Testament quotation, Old Testament allusion, messianic reference, and typological pattern. Chapter 4 contains no direct Old Testament quotation and is explicitly noted above as reviewed with no new cross-reference risk beyond what chapters 1–2 already establish. Ten direct points of cross-curriculum contact with the Romans Language Package have been identified and given explicit rendering-consistency rules in Part 4, including one substantive gap in the existing baseline (no “love” or “circumcision” or “baptism” glossary entries in Romans) that this curriculum should help resolve for the shared translation memory going forward.
