Semantic Analysis

Semantic Analysis — Jude (Koine Greek → Nepali)

0. Scope and Method Note

Jude is a single-chapter, 25-verse letter. Per the PRD Phase 1 full-book-coverage mandate, this document analyzes every verse of the entire book, not only the core passage. Because the book has only one chapter, coverage is organized as:

  1. Core Passage — Jude 1:3-23 (verse-by-verse, full field treatment)
  2. Remainder of the Book — Jude 1:1-2 (Salutation) and Jude 1:24-25 (Doxology) (verse-by-verse, full field treatment, since these verses introduce genuinely new load-bearing terms — they are NOT a “no new vocabulary” case)

All terms already established in the baseline Romans translation_memory.json are reused exactly as recorded there. New terms required for Jude’s vocabulary (not present in the Romans baseline) are analyzed here for the first time and will be added to Phase 1 Step 8’s glossary and, eventually, to an updated translation memory in Phase 2.

Author/Date/Genre note: Jude, brother of James (Ἰάκωβος), writes a short, urgent polemical-pastoral letter warning against false teachers who have “crept in” among the churches, using Old Testament and intertestamental typology (Israel in the wilderness, the fallen angels, Sodom and Gomorrah, Cain, Balaam, Korah, Enoch) to warn of certain judgment, while closing with pastoral instruction to the faithful and a doxology of God’s preserving power. This structure directly generates the six curriculum doctrines.

1. Core Passage: Jude 1:3-23 (Verse-by-Verse)

Jude 1:3

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
sōtēria
deliverance, rescue
salvation from sin/judgment; also mundane rescue in secular Greek
”salvation”
The shared, common (κοινῆς) salvation all believers possess — the doctrinal core the false teachers threaten.REUSE TM: उद्धार. Critical. Never मुक्ति/मोक्ष/निर्वाण (baseline rule applies identically here).
epagōnizesthai
to contend/struggle for, as in an athletic contest
fight earnestly for a cause; agonistic effort
”contend earnestly,” “fight for,” “struggle for”
Core verb of the doctrine “Contending for the Faith Once Delivered” — vigorous, active defense of revealed truth, not passive assent nor violent aggression.NEW TERM: विश्वासको निम्ति सङ्घर्ष गर्नु (to strive/contend for the faith). Risk High: must avoid two opposite distortions — (1) sounding like violent conflict, and (2) sounding like mere polite intellectual debate among equally valid options. Nepal’s pluralistic religious environment (many paths, many teachers) makes clear, bounded “contending for a fixed truth” language doctrinally important.
hapax…paradotheisē
handed over/entrusted once (for all time)
a single, completed, non-repeatable act of transmission
”once for all delivered,” “once entrusted”
The apostolic faith is a fixed, closed, historically-delivered body of truth — not an evolving revelation, and not one of many periodically renewed teachings.NEW TERM: एक पटक सदाको निम्ति सुम्पिएको (entrusted once for all time). Risk High: must be clearly distinguished from the Hindu avatāra pattern of dharma being periodically restored/re-revealed age after age (a live cosmological framework in Nepal, cf. baseline’s incarnation/अवतार warning), and from an “ongoing enlightenment tradition” framing found in Buddhist teaching lineages.
pistis
trust, that which is trusted/believed
(i) personal trust in a person; (ii) the body of doctrine believed — “the faith"
"faith,” “the faith”
Here πίστις shifts sense from Romans’ dominant use (personal trust) to an objective sense: the content of apostolic doctrine, defended as a deposit. Both senses must be held together for Jude.REUSE TM root: विश्वास. High. Translator note required: this occurrence uses the objective sense (“the faith,” a body of truth) rather than the subjective sense (personal trust) that dominates the Romans baseline; do not let विश्वास read only as private feeling here.
hagioi
holy ones
all believers, set apart to God
”saints”
The recipients of the deposited faith are ordinary believers, not a spiritual elite.REUSE TM: पवित्र जन. High. Never सन्त/साधु (identical rationale to Romans baseline).

Jude 1:4

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
pareisedysan
slipped/crept in secretly (beside)
infiltration by stealth
”crept in unnoticed,” “secretly slipped in”
False teachers entered the community covertly, not through open, identifiable false religion.NEW TERM: गुप्त रूपमा भित्र पसेका (secretly crept/slipped in). Risk Medium: convey stealth and infiltration, not open external opposition.
krima
judgment, verdict, sentence of condemnation
a specific decreed judgment/condemnation
”condemnation,” “judgment”
These teachers were “marked out beforehand” for this specific condemnation — a settled divine verdict, not fate.NEW TERM: दण्डाज्ञा (sentence of condemnation). Risk Medium: distinguish from κρίσις (the broader act/day of judgment, below) and from भाग्य/किस्मत (impersonal fate/karma), consistent with the baseline’s “election”/“providence” prohibitions on fate-language.
asebeis
impious, irreverent toward God
lacking reverence/piety toward the divine; morally corrupt because God-denying
”ungodly”
Central designation of the false teachers throughout Jude — the doctrine “Judgment on Ungodly False Teachers” turns on this word.NEW TERM: अधार्मिक (ungodly)/अधार्मिकता (ungodliness). Risk High. Built on the already-established धार्मिक root (from baseline’s धार्मिकता, “righteousness”) rather than on the bare noun धर्म, which the baseline critically prohibits due to its Muluki Ain/caste-code and Hindu-Kingdom associations. REJECTED: अधर्मी (the common colloquial rendering) — retains the bare धर्म root and risks exactly the caste-code/state-religion resonance the baseline flags as Critical elsewhere. Also rejected: भक्तिहीन (could echo भक्ति’s Hindu/Buddhist devotional connotations, already flagged as rejected for “faith”).
charis
favor, gift
unmerited favor from God
”grace”
The false teachers pervert grace itself, turning it into license — the doctrinal inversion Jude condemns.REUSE TM: अनुग्रह. High. Never पुण्य/भाग्य (identical rationale to Romans baseline — here the risk is amplified because the false teachers are explicitly distorting grace into license, so the term must remain unambiguously “unmerited favor,” not “merit” or “luck”).
aselgeia
unrestrained sensual indulgence, debauchery
licentiousness, moral abandon, especially sexual
”sensuality,” “licentiousness,” “debauchery”
The corrupted destination of perverted grace — grace misused as a license for unrestrained sin.NEW TERM: लम्पटता (lampatata) — unrestrained sensual indulgence/licentiousness. Risk Medium: must be distinguished from general पाप (sin, TM) as a specific named vice-category, not softened to vague “bad behavior.”
despotēs
master, absolute owner/sovereign
one who has full ownership/authority over slaves or subjects
”Master,” “Sovereign Lord”
Paired with κύριος to doubly emphasize Christ’s absolute ownership and lordship — denying this is the false teachers’ core sin.NEW TERM: अधिपति (sovereign Master). Risk High. REJECTED: मालिक (already rejected in the Romans baseline as an alternative for “lord,” carrying ordinary-employer connotations). REJECTED: स्वामी — though a natural-sounding option, स्वामी is also the standard honorific title for Hindu ascetic gurus and religious teachers in South Asia (e.g., “Swami” as a monastic title); using it for Christ risks placing him within that guru-title framework rather than conveying absolute divine ownership.
kyrios
lord, master
supreme, exclusive authority
”Lord”
Paired with δεσπότης; together they assert Christ’s total sovereign ownership and lordship, denied by the false teachers.REUSE TM: प्रभु. Critical (identical to baseline lordship_of_christ rationale).
arnoumenoi
denying, disowning
verbal or practical repudiation
”denying”
The false teachers deny Christ’s lordship not necessarily by verbal creed but by their licentious conduct — practical apostasy.NEW TERM: इन्कार गर्दै/अस्वीकार गर्दै (denying/repudiating). Risk Low-Medium: ensure the sense includes denial-by-conduct, not only denial-by-word.

Jude 1:5

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
λαός
laos
people, nation
a defined people-group; here Israel, implied
”people”
The first Old-Testament-warning type: Israel delivered from Egypt yet later destroyed for unbelief. Anchors the doctrine “Old Testament Warnings as Types.”NEW TERM: जन/मानिसहरू (people). Risk Medium: contextually refers to Israel (cf. TM इस्राएल); a background note identifying this as Israel is recommended since Jude does not name Israel explicitly here.
sōsas
having saved
rescue/deliverance (aorist participle of σῴζω)
“saved,” “having saved”
God’s initial saving act (the Exodus) — historical, one-time deliverance, functioning typologically for New Testament σωτηρία.REUSE TM root: उद्धार-मूल (बचायो/बचाएर) — verb form of the salvation root. Critical.
pisteusantas
having believed
trust/belief, aorist participle
”believed”
Unbelief, not merely disobedience, is the specific ground of destruction in the wilderness generation — same root as πίστις/faith.REUSE TM root: विश्वास गर्नेहरू (those who believed) / negated: विश्वास नगर्नेहरू. High.
apōlesen
destroyed
ruin, cause to perish (aorist of ἀπόλλυμι)
“destroyed”
Real, final, historical judgment on unbelief — a sober warning-type, not a temporary setback within an ongoing cycle.NEW TERM: नष्ट पार्नुभयो/विनाश गर्नुभयो (destroyed). Risk High: must communicate finality, not a temporary reversal that could be reversed within a rebirth-and-merit framework (cf. §Jude 1:11, 1:13 below on ἀπόλλυμι and eternal fire generally).

Jude 1:6

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
angelos
messenger
heavenly messenger/spirit being
”angel”
The second OT-warning type: angels who abandoned their proper domain, now held for judgment.NEW TERM: स्वर्गदूत (heavenly messenger/angel). Risk Medium: an established Nepali Christian term; ensure it is not conflated with generic देवता (deity) figures from Hindu cosmology.
archē
rule, domain, first estate, position of authority
office, realm of authority, “first” position
”position,” “domain,” “own realm”
The angels forsook their proper, God-assigned position/authority — a sin of rebellion against assigned place, prefiguring the false teachers’ rejection of κυριότης (v.8).NEW TERM: आफ्नो अधिकार/पद (their own position/domain of authority). Risk Medium.
oikētērion
dwelling place, habitation
proper abode
”dwelling,” “abode,” “proper home”
The angels left their assigned dwelling — echoed later by Sodom leaving natural order (v.7).NEW TERM: आफ्नो ठहराइएको निवास स्थान (their appointed dwelling place). Risk Low.
krisis
judgment, verdict, the process/day of judging
the act or day of judgment
”judgment,” “the judgment”
The “great day” of final judgment awaiting these angels — core to the doctrine “Judgment on Ungodly False Teachers,” extended to angelic rebellion as a type.NEW TERM: न्याय (judgment)/“ठूलो न्यायको दिन” (the great day of judgment). Risk High: must retain a personal, moral, once-for-all forensic sense — distinct from an impersonal cosmic-order reckoning.
desmois aidiois
eternal/everlasting bonds/chains
permanent binding
”eternal chains,” “everlasting bonds”
Permanent, non-temporary imprisonment — underscoring finality of angelic judgment.NEW TERM: अनन्त बन्धन (eternal bonds/chains). Risk Medium: ensure “eternal” (अनन्त) is understood as truly unending, not as a long-but-finite confinement (a live risk given the “cycle” and “many aeons” cosmological instincts common in both Hindu and Buddhist frameworks in Nepal).
zophos
thick gloom, deep darkness
murky, oppressive darkness (distinct from σκότος’s general darkness)
“darkness,” “gloom,” “blackness”
The place of angelic confinement — a real, morally-charged darkness of divine judgment, not a symbolic ignorance-state.NEW TERM: गहिरो अन्धकार (deep/thick darkness). Risk Medium.
tēreō
to keep, guard, preserve
(i) positively: to preserve/keep safe; (ii) here negatively: to keep/hold in confinement for judgment
”has kept,” “has reserved,” “has held”
The same verb root (τηρέω) used positively of believers being “kept” by God (v.1, v.21, v.24) is here used of angels being “kept” for judgment — a deliberate ironic contrast central to the doctrine “Kept by God and Presented Blameless.”NEW TERM: (यहाँ न्यायको निम्ति) सुरक्षित राखिएका/थुनिएका (kept/held in reserve for judgment). Risk High: translators must preserve the verbal echo with v.1/v.21/v.24 (same Greek root, opposite outcome) — one Nepali root family should be used across all τηρέω occurrences so the deliberate contrast (angels “kept” for judgment vs. believers “kept” for glory) remains visible.

Jude 1:7

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
Sodoma, Gomorra
Sodom, Gomorrah
proper names
”Sodom and Gomorrah”
The third OT-warning type: cities destroyed for gross immorality — a historical, geographically real judgment, not myth.PROPER NAMES: सदोम, गमोरा (established Nepali Bible forms). Risk Low.
ekporneusasai
having given themselves to sexual immorality
fornication, sexual sin (intensified form of πορνεύω)
“committed sexual immorality,” “gave themselves over to fornication”
Sodom’s defining sin.NEW TERM: व्यभिचारमा लागेका (given themselves to sexual immorality). Risk Medium.
sarkos heteras
flesh of another/different kind
unnatural, other-than-normal flesh relations
”strange flesh,” “unnatural desire”
A deliberately guarded phrase describing Sodom’s unnatural transgression of the created order — functioning as the OT type without over-specifying beyond what the text states.NEW TERM: अनौठो/पर शरीर (strange/other flesh) — kept literal and non-explanatory. Risk High: translators must neither soften nor over-specify this phrase; it must remain a clear moral-order violation functioning as a warning-type (doctrine: Old Testament Warnings as Types), without editorializing beyond the Greek’s deliberate reticence.
deigma
example, sample, specimen
visible object-lesson
”example,” “warning example”
Sodom stands publicly as a perpetual object-lesson of judgment.NEW TERM: उदाहरण (example). Risk Low.
pyr aiōnion
eternal fire
permanent, unending fire of judgment
”eternal fire”
Everlasting, non-cyclical judgment — the fire’s effect never ends and is never followed by release, rebirth, or reprieve.NEW TERM: अनन्त आगो (eternal fire). Risk High: must be sharply distinguished from Hindu/Buddhist naraka (hell-realm) concepts, which within both traditions’ cosmology are understood as temporary, purgatorial states endured within an ongoing cycle of rebirth — never as a final, unending state. This is a direct doctrinal collision requiring explicit translator awareness, parallel to the baseline’s resurrection/rebirth distinction.
dikē
penalty, punishment, retribution
judicial penalty
”punishment,” “penalty”
The just legal consequence Sodom now visibly bears.NEW TERM: सजाय (punishment). Risk Medium.

Jude 1:8

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
enypniazomenoi
dreaming
being led by dream-visions, fleshly imagination
”dreamers,” “relying on their dreams/visions”
The false teachers claim visionary authority for their conduct — a counterfeit spiritual legitimacy.NEW TERM: सपनामा भरपर्ने/सपना देखेर (relying on dreams). Risk Low-Medium.
miainousin
defile, pollute
moral or ritual defilement
”defile”
The false teachers morally corrupt the body/flesh — a real ethical defilement, not ceremonial impurity.NEW TERM: अशुद्ध पार्नु (to defile). Risk Medium: must be understood as moral corruption, not the ritual/ceremonial purity code (जुठो, ritual pollution) still practiced within Nepali Hindu caste custom — a risk this same root (μιαίνω/χιτών imagery) recurs with greater weight at v.23 below.
kyriotēs
lordship, dominion, authority
rule, sovereign authority (abstract noun from κύριος)
“authority,” “lordship,” “dominion”
Ambiguous referent in scholarship — either rejecting angelic/governmental authorities generally, or (more likely given κύριος’s use in v.4) rejecting Christ’s own lordship specifically.NEW TERM: प्रभुत्व (lordship/dominion — built on the प्रभु root, TM). Risk High: flag for theologian review due to genuine exegetical ambiguity of referent; whichever reading is adopted, प्रभुत्व preserves the lexical link to प्रभु (Lord) that the Greek’s κύριος/κυριότης wordplay requires.
athetousin
reject, set aside, treat as invalid
repudiate, nullify
”reject,” “despise,” “set at naught”
Active, deliberate repudiation of legitimate authority.NEW TERM: इन्कार गर्नु/तोडफोड गर्नु (reject/repudiate). Risk Medium.
doxas
glorious ones, glories, dignities
(plural of δόξα) here likely referring to angelic/celestial beings of glory, not abstract “glory"
"glorious ones,” “celestial beings,” “dignitaries”
A semantic-range extension of δόξα beyond its usual abstract sense (God’s radiant honor, TM महिमा) to a concrete plural referring to glorious created beings.REUSE TM root with EXTENDED SENSE: महिमावान् प्राणीहरू (glorious/exalted beings). Risk High: translator note required — this is NOT the abstract “glory of God” sense (महिमा alone, TM) but a distinct plural referent (likely angelic beings); rendering it identically to abstract महिमा without clarification would obscure the referent.
blasphēmousin
blaspheme, slander
speak abusively/irreverently against a sacred or exalted referent
”blaspheme,” “slander,” “revile”
The false teachers irreverently mock realities they do not understand.NEW TERM: निन्दा गर्नु (to blaspheme/slander). Risk Medium.

Jude 1:9

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
Michaēl ho archangelos
Michael the archangel
proper name + title
”Michael the archangel”
Contrasts with the false teachers: even the highest angelic authority shows restraint before Satan, unlike the teachers who blaspheme freely (v.8, v.10).PROPER NAME + NEW TERM: मिखाएल प्रधान स्वर्गदूत. Risk Medium.
diabolos
slanderer, accuser
the personal, singular fallen angelic adversary (a title, from διαβάλλω, “to slander”)
“the devil”
A specific personal being, not a class of malevolent spirits.NEW TERM: दियाबल (established transliterated Nepali Bible title). Risk High: Nepali folk religion (jhakri/shamanic exorcism practice) maintains a vivid, active tradition of malevolent spirits (भूत-प्रेत) requiring ritual appeasement or exorcism; translators must ensure दियाबल is understood as the singular, specific fallen angelic adversary of Scripture, not assimilated into the folk-religious भूत-प्रेत framework of many localized, spiritually mixed-motive spirits.
diakrinomenos
disputing, contending, arguing
(i) here: disputing/debating; (ii) NOTE — this same verb root appears in v.22 with a different sense (“wavering/doubting”)
“disputing,” “contending in argument”
Michael’s restrained legal dispute with the devil over Moses’ body (an intertestamental tradition Jude assumes his readers know).NEW TERM: विवाद गर्दा/तर्क गर्दा (while disputing/arguing). Risk Medium: CRITICAL CROSS-REFERENCE — flag for translators that the identical Greek root διακριν- returns in v.22 with the opposite semantic direction (not “arguing” but “wavering/doubting”); the Nepali renderings must differ by context and should NOT share one word, or the doctrine “Mercy and Rescue of the Wavering” will be obscured.
blasphēmia
slander, blasphemy, abusive judgment
insulting/contemptuous accusation
”blasphemous judgment,” “reviling accusation”
Michael refrains even from a slanderous judgment against the devil — a model of restraint the false teachers utterly lack.NEW TERM: निन्दापूर्ण न्याय/निन्दा (slanderous/blasphemous judgment). Risk Medium.
epitimēsai
may he rebuke
authoritative rebuke/correction
”rebuke,” “may the Lord rebuke you”
Michael defers judgment to the Lord’s own authority rather than pronouncing it himself.NEW TERM: प्रभुले तपाईंलाई हप्काउनुभएको होस् (may the Lord rebuke you). Risk Low-Medium.

Jude 1:10

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
aloga zōa
irrational/speechless animals
brute creatures, lacking reason
”unreasoning animals,” “irrational creatures,” “brute beasts”
The false teachers are worse than Michael (v.9) — they blaspheme what they don’t understand, and in what they do understand by mere instinct, they behave like animals.NEW TERM: बुद्धिहीन पशुहरू (irrational/mindless animals). Risk Low.
phtheirontai
are destroyed, corrupted, ruined
moral corruption or ultimate destruction
”are destroyed,” “corrupt themselves,” “are ruined”
Self-destructive corruption resulting from animal-like instinct-driven living.NEW TERM: भ्रष्ट/नष्ट हुन्छन् (are corrupted/destroyed). Risk Medium.

Jude 1:11

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
ouai
woe!
prophetic/judicial pronouncement of coming disaster
”woe”
A prophetic pronouncement of judgment, not a mere emotional lament.NEW TERM: धिक्कार (established Nepali Bible prophetic interjection “woe”). Risk Medium: must retain its judicial/prophetic force, not read as simple grief.
hodos (tou Kain)
the way/path (of Cain)
a course of life or moral pattern
”the way of Cain”
Cain’s specific path of self-willed, envious rebellion against God — a fixed, named negative pattern, not a valid alternative “path” among several.PROPER NAME + NEW TERM: काईनको बाटो. Risk High: बाटो (“way/path”) risks resonance with South Asian “मार्ग” (marga) religious-path vocabulary — e.g., Hindu bhakti-marga/karma-marga/jnana-marga, or the Buddhist Eightfold Path — frameworks that present multiple legitimate spiritual paths. Jude’s point is the opposite: Cain’s “way” is a specific, condemned pattern of sin, not one path among many valid ones. Translator note strongly recommended.
planē (tou Balaam)
error, deception (of Balaam)
wandering from truth, deceit, often for gain
”the error of Balaam”
Balaam’s specific sin: prophetic ministry corrupted by greed.PROPER NAME + NEW TERM: बालामको भ्रम (Balaam’s error). Risk Medium: भ्रम could evoke माया/अविद्या (metaphysical illusion, a significant concept in both Hindu Vedantic and Buddhist thought); clarify this is moral/doctrinal error for profit, not cosmic illusion.
misthos
wage, pay, reward
compensation, often for hire
”reward,” “wages,” “profit”
Balaam corrupted his prophetic office for payment — a warning against ministry-for-profit.NEW TERM: ज्याला/इनाम (wage/reward). Risk Medium.
antilogia (tou Korē)
rebellion, contradiction, dispute (of Korah)
organized opposition/rebellion against appointed authority
”the rebellion of Korah”
Korah’s specific sin: rebellion against God-appointed leadership (Moses/Aaron).PROPER NAME + NEW TERM: कोरहको विद्रोह (Korah’s rebellion). Risk Medium: connects to the broader authority theme flagged for native-speaker review in the Romans baseline (Romans 13).
apōlonto
perished
destruction, ruin (aorist middle of ἀπόλλυμι)
“perished,” “were destroyed”
Real, historical, final judgment (Korah’s company was swallowed by the earth) — a warning-type of certain destruction.NEW TERM: नष्ट भए/विनाश भए (perished). Risk High: same finality concern as v.5’s ἀπώλεσεν — must not be softened into a temporary or reversible setback.

Jude 1:12

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
agapai
love feasts
communal meals of the early church expressing fellowship
”love feasts”
The false teachers corrupt the church’s most intimate community meal — the very expression of Christian sahabhagita/fellowship (TM).NEW TERM: प्रेम-भोज (love feast). Risk Medium: distinguish from generic communal feasting and from Hindu/Buddhist temple communal meal or prasad distribution traditions, which carry different (ritual-merit) meanings.
spilades
blemishes / (alt. reading) hidden reefs
(i) moral stains/blots; (ii) textually-contested alternate: submerged rocks that wreck ships
”blemishes,” “hidden reefs”
The false teachers corrupt communal worship from within — either as visible moral blots on it, or as hidden dangers wrecking it.NEW TERM: दाग (blemish/stain) — primary rendering. Risk Medium. Alternative considered: लुकेका चट्टान (hidden reefs) — noted as a valid textual-variant rendering for translator awareness.
poimainontes (heautous)
shepherding (themselves)
ironic use of shepherd-imagery — feeding/tending only themselves
”feeding themselves,” “shepherding only themselves”
An ironic inversion of the pastoral shepherd metaphor: false leaders serve themselves rather than the flock.NEW TERM: आफैलाई मात्र स्याहार्ने गोठालाहरू (shepherds who tend only themselves). Risk Medium.
nephelai anydroi
waterless clouds
clouds that promise rain but deliver none
”waterless clouds”
False teachers promise spiritual sustenance but deliver nothing.NEW TERM: पानी नभएका बादल (waterless clouds). Risk Low.
dendra akarpa, ekrizōthenta
fruitless trees, uprooted
trees bearing no fruit, torn out by the roots
”fruitless trees, uprooted”
Total, final barrenness and removal — doubly dead (φθινοπωρινά, “of late autumn,” bearing no fruit even in season) and uprooted beyond any possible recovery.NEW TERM: फल नफलेका, जरैदेखि उखेलिएका रूखहरू (fruitless, uprooted-from-the-root trees). Risk Medium: convey finality (uprooted, not merely pruned).

Jude 1:13

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
kymata agria thalassēs
wild waves of the sea
violent, uncontrolled waves
”wild waves of the sea”
Uncontrolled, self-exposing chaos of the false teachers’ conduct.NEW TERM: समुद्रका उग्र छालहरू (wild sea waves). Risk Low.
aischynē
shame, disgrace
that which brings dishonor; the shameful thing itself
”shame,” “shameful deeds”
Their shame is publicly, visibly exposed like foam churned up by wild waves — an honor/shame-coded image.NEW TERM: लाज/अपमानका कुराहरू (shameful/disgraceful things). Risk Medium: Nepali society’s strong honor-shame social dynamics (already flagged for native-speaker review in the baseline for Romans 13-adjacent material) make this term culturally resonant; ensure the sense is exposed public disgrace, not private embarrassment.
asteres planētai
wandering stars
stars that do not hold a fixed course (as opposed to fixed stars)
“wandering stars”
Instability and lack of true direction, leading only to darkness rather than guidance.NEW TERM: भौंतारिने ताराहरू (wandering/erratic stars). Risk Medium: avoid any resonance with ज्योतिष (astrology, already flagged in the baseline’s “prophet” entry) — this is an image of instability and false guidance, not an astrological reference.
zophos tou skotous eis aiōna
the blackness of darkness forever
permanent, total darkness
”blackness of darkness forever,” “utter darkness forever”
Final, unending judgment — reinforcing v.6-7’s eternal-fire/eternal-chains theme.NEW TERM: Risk High: same eternal-vs-cyclical concern as πῦρ αἰώνιον (v.7) — must be unambiguously permanent, not a temporary dark interval within an ongoing cosmic or rebirth cycle.

Jude 1:14-15

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
Henōch, Adam
Enoch, Adam
proper names
”Enoch,” “Adam”
Jude cites 1 Enoch (a Jewish intertestamental text, not part of the Hebrew canon) as a true prophetic utterance.PROPER NAMES: हनोक, आदम (established Nepali forms).
proephēteusen
prophesied
spoke by prophetic inspiration
”prophesied”
A significant and unique translation/doctrinal issue: Jude affirms that Enoch “prophesied,” quoting material from the non-canonical Book of Enoch, without thereby making that book canonical Scripture.REUSE TM root: अगमवाणी गर्नुभयो (prophesied — from TM’s अगमवाणी/अगमवक्ता). Risk High: REQUIRES A DEDICATED TRANSLATOR/THEOLOGIAN NOTE distinct from any parallel in Romans — this is Jude’s unique challenge to the doctrine “Inspiration of Scripture”: Jude cites a genuinely true prophetic utterance from a book outside the Protestant canon. The Nepali rendering must not imply the Book of Enoch itself is canonical Scripture, while still faithfully rendering Jude’s own affirmation that this specific utterance was a real prophecy.
hagiais myriasin
holy myriads / ten-thousands
a vast holy host (angels)
“holy myriads,” “ten thousands of his holy ones”
The Lord’s coming in judgment is attended by a vast angelic host — cosmic, not local, in scale.REUSE TM root + NEW compound: पवित्र स्वर्गदूतहरूको ठूलो समूह (a great company of holy angels). Risk Medium.
krisis
judgment
the act/event of judging
”judgment”
Same term as v.6 — the final, universal judgment “against all.”REUSE (from v.6): न्याय. High.
elegxai
to convict, expose, rebuke with proof
to demonstrate guilt conclusively
”convict,” “expose,” “rebuke”
Every soul’s guilt will be conclusively demonstrated — a forensic act paralleling (in reverse) the doctrine of justification’s declarative force.NEW TERM: दोषी ठहराउनु (to declare/convict as guilty — deliberately parallel in construction to TM’s धर्मी ठहराइने कार्य, “justification,” so the forensic parallel/contrast between condemnation and justification remains visible). Risk High.
asebeia, asebeis
ungodliness, ungodly ones
impiety; the impious
”ungodliness,” “ungodly”
Recurs from v.4 — the letter’s central negative designation.REUSE (from v.4): अधार्मिकता/अधार्मिक. High.
hamartōloi
sinners
those characterized by ἁμαρτία (sin)
“sinners”
General moral culpability before a personal God.NEW TERM (derived from TM root): पापी (sinners — from TM’s पाप, “sin”). Risk Medium.
sklēra
harsh, hard things
rough, offensive speech
”harsh things,” “harsh words”
The content of the false teachers’ rebellious speech against God.NEW TERM: कठोर वचन (harsh words). Risk Low.

Jude 1:16

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
gongystai
grumblers
those who murmur discontentedly
”grumblers”
Echoes Israel’s wilderness grumbling (cf. v.5’s Exodus type).NEW TERM: गनगन गर्नेहरू (grumblers). Risk Low.
mempsimoiroi
fault-finders, complainers
chronic dissatisfaction, blaming one’s lot
”complainers,” “malcontents”
Persistent dissatisfaction with God’s provision/lot.NEW TERM: गुनासो गर्नेहरू (complainers). Risk Low.
epithymiai
desires, lusts
strong desire, often negatively of illicit passion
”lusts,” “desires,” “passions”
Governed entirely by self-serving desire rather than by God’s will.NEW TERM: कुवासना (evil desire/lust). Risk Medium: distinguish from neutral इच्छा (ordinary desire/wish); this is morally negative, self-indulgent desire.
hyperogka
bombastic, swollen, boastful
inflated, arrogant speech
”great swelling words,” “bombastic words”
Empty, self-aggrandizing rhetoric.NEW TERM: ठूला घमण्डी वचन (great arrogant/boastful words). Risk Low.
thaumazontes prosōpa
admiring faces
showing partiality/flattery toward influential people
”flattering people,” “showing favoritism for gain”
Insincere flattery of powerful/wealthy people for personal advantage.NEW TERM: स्वार्थको निम्ति चाप्लुसी गर्नु (flattering for selfish gain). Risk Medium: resonates with patron-client and honor-status dynamics prominent in Nepali social relationships; ensure the sense of self-interested manipulation is retained, not softened to ordinary politeness.

Jude 1:17-18

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
apostoloi
apostles
authorized, sent messengers
”apostles”
The apostles had already predicted this very apostasy — grounding present warning in apostolic, authoritative prophecy.REUSE TM: प्रेरित. Medium.
ep’ eschatou chronou
in the last time
the final eschatological period before Christ’s return
”in the last times,” “in the last days”
Places the false teachers’ rise within the expected eschatological pattern, not an unforeseen crisis.NEW TERM: अन्तिम समयमा (in the last time). Risk Medium: an eschatological term not directly present in the Romans baseline; ensure it conveys the final period before Christ’s return, not a vague or cyclically-recurring “end of an age” (a concept with resonance in Hindu yuga-cycle cosmology).
empaiktai
mockers, scoffers
those who deride/ridicule
”mockers,” “scoffers”
Predicted end-times figures who deride true doctrine.NEW TERM: उपहास गर्नेहरू/ठट्टा गर्नेहरू (mockers/scoffers). Risk Medium.
asebeiōn
ungodly desires/ungodliness
(genitive) impious, God-denying passions
”ungodly lusts/passions”
Recurs from v.4, v.15 — the letter’s central term.REUSE (from v.4): अधार्मिकता. High.

Jude 1:19

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
apodiorizontes
those who cause divisions/separate off
creating factions, drawing boundary-lines that split the community
”those who cause divisions,” “those who separate themselves”
The false teachers actively fracture the church community — a direct threat to the doctrine of the church as one body.NEW TERM: फुट ल्याउनेहरू/विभाजन गर्नेहरू (those who cause divisions). Risk High: church division is a serious pastoral and doctrinal concern; ensure the term carries weight beyond ordinary “disagreement.”
psychikoi
soulish, natural (of the ψυχή, soul)
governed only by natural human faculties, lacking the (Holy) Spirit; contrasted with πνευματικός (spiritual)
“worldly,” “unspiritual,” “merely natural,” “sensual”
A person who operates only by natural human capacities, without the indwelling Spirit — a deficient, not exalted, spiritual state.NEW TERM: आत्मारहित सांसारिक (worldly/natural, without the [Holy] Spirit). Risk CRITICAL: this term derives from ψυχή (“soul”), a concept load-bearing in Hindu ātman theology (the eternal, divine soul) and in general South Asian religious anthropology, where “soul-governed” existence is typically viewed positively or neutrally. Jude’s usage is the opposite: ψυχικός describes a deficient, Spirit-lacking condition. Nepali rendering must not use a bare “soul-related” term (e.g., “आत्मिक” alone, which the baseline already reserves for Spirit-given/आत्मिक वरदान) that could read positively; the explicit negative qualifier “आत्मारहित” (without the Spirit) or an equivalent clarifying phrase is required in every occurrence.
pneuma
spirit
(i) the Holy Spirit; (ii) human spirit; (iii) wind/breath (not in view here)
“the Spirit,” “the Holy Spirit”
Contextually understood by nearly all commentators as the Holy Spirit — the mark of true believers, absent in the false teachers.REUSE TM (contextual): पवित्र आत्मा. Risk High: though the Greek here lacks the adjective ἅγιον (“holy”), context requires the reading “the Holy Spirit” (cf. TM’s holy_spirit entry); translators should not render this as a generic “spirit” that could be misunderstood as a lesser spirit-being within Nepali folk cosmology’s crowded spirit-world.

Jude 1:20-21

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
hagiōtatē pistei
most holy faith (superlative)
the (objective) body of apostolic doctrine, described in its highest degree of holiness
”most holy faith”
Same objective sense as v.3’s πίστις, now intensified — the believers must actively build themselves up on this fixed, holy deposit.REUSE TM roots, NEW compound: अति पवित्र विश्वास (most holy faith — combining TM’s पवित्र and विश्वास). Risk High: preserve both established roots exactly; do not substitute a synonym for either.
epoikodomountes
building up (upon a foundation)
edification, constructive spiritual growth
”building yourselves up”
Active, ongoing spiritual growth grounded in the fixed apostolic deposit.NEW TERM: आफैलाई सुदृढ पार्दै/निर्माण गर्दै (building/strengthening yourselves). Risk Medium.
en Pneumati Hagiō proseuchomenoi
praying in the Holy Spirit
Spirit-empowered/Spirit-led prayer
”praying in the Holy Spirit”
Contrasts directly with v.19’s ψυχικοί/πνεῦμα μὴ ἔχοντες — true believers pray precisely by the Spirit the false teachers lack.REUSE TM: पवित्र आत्मामा प्रार्थना गर्दै. Risk High: preserve the deliberate contrast with v.19.
heautous…tērēsate (en agapē theou)
keep yourselves (in the love of God)
reflexive imperative — human responsibility to remain within God’s love
”keep yourselves in the love of God”
A theological tension/paradox central to the doctrine “Kept by God and Presented Blameless”: believers are commanded to “keep themselves,” yet the letter opens (v.1) and closes (v.24) affirming that God himself keeps/preserves them. Both truths must stand together — divine preservation does not eliminate human responsibility, and human responsibility is never self-generated merit.NEW TERM (same τηρέω root family as v.1, v.6, v.24): आफूलाई परमेश्वरको प्रेममा राख्नु (keep yourselves in God’s love). Risk High: must use the same τηρέω-root Nepali term family established for v.1/v.6/v.24 so the deliberate divine-keeping/human-keeping paradox remains visible across the letter; must not be rendered in a way that suggests self-achieved merit (cf. baseline’s grace-vs-merit warnings).
eleos
mercy
compassionate rescue of those in need/distress
”mercy”
The believers wait expectantly for Christ’s mercy at his return — mercy as future hope, not only present compassion.NEW TERM: दया (mercy). Risk High: distinguish from अनुग्रह (grace, TM — unmerited favor establishing salvation status) — दया here denotes compassionate, rescuing action toward those in need/distress, the central term of the doctrine “Mercy and Rescue of the Wavering” (cf. vv.22-23 below, same word). REJECTED: कृपा (per baseline, reserved for general non-soteriological compassion; here mercy carries direct eschatological/soteriological weight and should use दया consistently).
zōē aiōnios
eternal life
unending, personal, relational life with God
”eternal life”
The believers’ certain future hope, contrasted with the false teachers’ certain judgment (πῦρ αἰώνιον, v.7).NEW TERM: अनन्त जीवन (eternal life). Risk High: must be clearly distinguished from mokṣa/nirvāṇa-style final states — this is unending personal, relational life with a personal God, not absorption into an impersonal Absolute (Hindu Brahman-union) or cessation of individual existence (Buddhist nirvāṇa). Direct parallel to the baseline’s “salvation” dual-front warning.

Jude 1:22-23

Greek (with a well-known textual variant tradition; UBS/NA critical text reflected below): καὶ οὕς μὲν ἐλεᾶτε διακρινομένους, οὕς δὲ σῴζετε ἐκ πυρὸς ἁρπάζοντες, οὕς δὲ ἐλεᾶτε ἐν φόβῳ, μισοῦντες καὶ τὸν ἀπὸ τῆς σαρκὸς ἐσπιλωμένον χιτῶνα.

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
eleate
have mercy on (imperative)
show compassionate, rescuing action
”have mercy on,” “be merciful to”
The letter’s climactic pastoral command: mercy is not just received (v.21) but actively extended to others — the doctrine “Mercy and Rescue of the Wavering.”REUSE (from v.21): दया गर्नु/दया देखाउनु. Risk High.
diakrinomenous
those who waver, doubt, dispute (with themselves)
here, in contrast to v.9’s “disputing,” this participle takes the sense “doubting/wavering"
"those who doubt,” “those who waver,” “those who dispute”
Believers struggling with doubt or wavering conviction under the false teachers’ influence — objects of mercy, not judgment (contrast with the false teachers themselves).NEW TERM (deliberately DIFFERENT from v.9’s rendering of the same Greek root): शंका गर्नेहरू/डाँवाडोल हुनेहरू (those who doubt/waver). Risk High: manuscript tradition varies here (some texts read ἐλέγχετε, “reprove/convict,” rather than ἐλεᾶτε, “have mercy,” for the first clause) — flag for theologian review regardless of which textual basis is followed by the source English text supplied to translators.
sōzete
save (imperative)
rescue, deliver
”save”
Active, urgent rescue of those in spiritual danger.REUSE TM root: उद्धार गर्नु/बचाउनु. Critical.
ek pyros harpazontes
snatching out of the fire
urgent, forceful rescue from imminent danger
”snatching them out of the fire”
Vivid image of urgent rescue from a fire already burning — echoing the πῦρ αἰώνιον of v.7 as the danger from which the wavering must be pulled.NEW TERM: आगोबाट खोसेर बचाउँदै (snatching [them] out of the fire). Risk Medium.
en phobō
with fear
cautious, reverent wariness
”with fear,” “with caution”
Mercy toward the most compromised must be extended with wariness of contamination — a pastoral caution, not craven terror.NEW TERM: सावधानीका साथ/डरका साथ (with caution/fear). Risk High: this must be distinguished from the fear-of-malevolent-spirits/appeasement dynamic present in Nepali folk shamanistic practice (jhakri tradition); the “fear” here is a wise pastoral wariness of moral contamination, not fear of an angry, arbitrary spiritual power requiring ritual appeasement.
misountes
hating
strong aversion/rejection
”hating”
Hating the sin/contamination itself while rescuing the person — a crucial pastoral distinction.NEW TERM: घृणा गर्दै (hating). Risk Medium: clarify object is the defilement, not the person being rescued.
espilōmenon chitōna
stained/defiled garment
a garment polluted by contact with corrupting influence
”garment stained/defiled by the flesh”
A vivid image of moral contamination spreading by contact, requiring urgent but careful rescue.NEW TERM: शरीरबाट अशुद्ध भएको वस्त्र (garment defiled by the flesh). Risk HIGH: this image directly parallels the “jutho” (जुठो) concept of ritual/contact contamination deeply embedded in living Nepali Hindu caste practice — where touching, sharing food, or contact with a lower-status person or “impure” substance is believed to transmit ritual pollution requiring purification. This verse’s “defiled garment” metaphor must be firmly anchored as moral contamination from sin, not read through the jutho ritual-purity lens, which could (a) trivialize the moral seriousness intended, or (b) reinforce caste-linked purity thinking the gospel elsewhere explicitly overturns (cf. baseline’s universal_scope_of_gospel doctrine). Theologian review required.

2. Full-Book Coverage Beyond the Core Passage

Jude has only one chapter; the verses outside 1:3-23 are the opening salutation (1:1-2) and the closing doxology (1:24-25). Both introduce genuinely new load-bearing vocabulary and are analyzed in full below to satisfy full-book coverage.

Jude 1:1-2 (Salutation)

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
Ioudas
Jude/Judah/Judas
proper name
”Jude”
The author, brother of James, not to be confused with Judas Iscariot.PROPER NAME: यहूदा (established Nepali form; book title यहूदाको पत्र, “Letter of Jude”). Risk Medium: must be clearly distinguished in any explanatory material from यहूदा इस्करियोती (Judas Iscariot) and from the OT patriarch यहूदा (Judah).
doulos
slave, bondservant
one owned by/wholly devoted to a master
”servant,” “bondservant,” “slave”
Jude identifies himself not by apostolic office but by total ownership-belonging to Christ — a posture of humble submission opening a letter that will demand submission to Christ’s lordship from its readers.NEW TERM: दास (servant/bondservant). Risk Medium: दास carries residual social connotations tied to historical servitude/caste-linked labor status in South Asia; ensure the theological sense (total, willing devotion/belonging to Christ, a position of honor in Christian usage) is not read through a demeaning social-status lens.
Iakōbou
James
proper name (genitive)
“James”
Identifies Jude’s family relationship, lending him recognized authority.PROPER NAME: याकूब (established Nepali form).
ēgapēmenois
beloved, having been loved
those who are the objects of God’s settled love
”beloved,” “loved”
The readers’ fundamental identity: loved by God the Father.NEW TERM: प्रिय/प्रेम गरिएका (beloved). Risk Low-Medium.
tetērēmenois
having been kept/preserved
(perfect passive of τηρέω) — a settled, ongoing state of being kept
”kept,” “preserved,” “guarded”
The letter’s opening line already states the doctrine “Kept by God” as a settled fact about the readers, before any exhortation to “keep themselves” (v.21) or warning about others being “kept” for judgment (v.6).NEW TERM (anchor for the τηρέω root family used throughout): सुरक्षित राखिएका (kept/preserved safely). Risk High: this is the FIRST occurrence of the letter’s key τηρέω motif; the Nepali root chosen here should be used consistently at v.6 (angels kept for judgment), v.13 (darkness kept/reserved), v.21 (keep yourselves), and v.24 (God able to keep you) so the theological wordplay running through the entire letter remains visible to Nepali readers.
klētois
called ones
those summoned by God
”called”
Same doctrinal category as the Romans baseline’s “called” entries — here specifically called to be recipients of the Father’s love and Christ’s keeping.REUSE TM: बोलाइएका. High.
eleos
mercy
see full discussion at v.21/22-23
”mercy”
Introduced here as a greeting-gift, anticipating its climactic pastoral use later in the letter.NEW TERM (established here): दया. Risk High (see v.21 discussion).
eirēnē
peace
relational wellbeing/peace with God
”peace”
Standard epistolary greeting term also carrying the full theological weight of “peace with God.”REUSE TM: शान्ति. Medium.
agapē
love
selfless, covenantal love, especially God’s love for his people
”love”
God’s own committed love, prayed to be “multiplied” toward the readers.NEW TERM: प्रेम (love). Risk Low: standard term; ensure it is understood as God’s committed, covenantal love, not romantic or merely affectionate love.

Jude 1:24-25 (Doxology)

TermsVariantsContextual Theological MeaningNepali Rendering & Risk
phylaxai
to guard, keep watch over
protective guarding (a distinct-but-related verb to τηρέω)
“to keep,” “to guard”
Closes the letter’s τηρέω/φυλάσσω motif: God himself is able to guard believers from falling — the doctrinal capstone of “Kept by God and Presented Blameless.”NEW TERM: सुरक्षा गर्न/जोगाउन सक्नुहुने (able to guard/protect). Risk High: should echo the same root family established for τηρέω at v.1/v.6/v.21 so readers recognize this as the letter’s climactic resolution of that motif — God’s ability to keep succeeds where human self-keeping (v.21) alone would fail.
aptaistous
without stumbling
not falling/tripping
”without stumbling,” “without falling”
Complete, successful preservation to the end.NEW TERM: नठेस लाग्ने गरी/नलढ्ने गरी (without stumbling). Risk Medium.
stēsai katenōpion
to cause to stand before
to present/set someone in a place, before a witness
”to present…before,” “to set…in the presence of”
The eschatological presentation of believers before God’s own glory — a forensic-relational image paralleling Romans’ imputed-righteousness/justification doctrine (being made fit to stand before God, not on one’s own merit).NEW TERM: (परमेश्वरको महिमाको) सामु उपस्थित गराउनु (to cause to stand/be presented before [God’s glory]). Risk High: connects directly to the baseline’s justification/imputed_righteousness doctrine family — being “presented” is God’s own gracious act, not a self-achieved standing.
doxa (autou)
glory (his)
God’s radiant honor and presence
”his glory”
Standard sense (contrast with v.8’s extended plural sense δόξας).REUSE TM: महिमा. High.
amōmos
blameless, without blemish
originally of unblemished sacrificial animals (LXX background); by extension, moral blamelessness
”blameless,” “without blemish,” “spotless”
Believers presented entirely blameless before God — a status granted, not self-achieved, echoing sacrificial/atonement imagery without collapsing into mere ritual purity.NEW TERM: निष्खोट/दोषरहित (blameless, without blemish). Risk High: must be understood as forensic-moral blamelessness graciously granted through Christ’s work, not ritual/ceremonial spotlessness (again guarding against the जुठो/ritual-purity collision flagged at v.23).
agalliasis
exultation, great joy
overflowing, exuberant joy
”exultation,” “great joy,” “rejoicing”
The believers’ presentation before God is not merely safe but joyful — celebratory, not merely relieved.NEW TERM: ठूलो आनन्द/उमङ्ग (great joy/exultation). Risk Medium.
monō theō
to the only God
exclusive, singular deity
”the only God,” “the one God”
Explicit monotheistic affirmation — directly relevant given Nepal’s historic constitutional identity as a Hindu Kingdom with an official multi-deity state pantheon until 2007.REUSE TM root + NEW qualifier: एक मात्र परमेश्वर (the only/one God). Risk High: the qualifier “एक मात्र” (only/one) must be retained explicitly — do not drop it for stylistic brevity, as it carries the doxology’s deliberate exclusivist monotheistic force.
sōtēr
savior, deliverer
one who saves/rescues
”Savior”
God (and, through him, Christ) as the one who accomplishes σωτηρία.NEW TERM (derived directly from TM’s established उद्धार root): उद्धारकर्ता (Savior — “the one who accomplishes उद्धार”). Risk CRITICAL: must be built on उद्धार, never on मुक्ति (which would yield the rejected मुक्तिदाता, “liberator,” carrying Hindu liberation-from-rebirth connotations). This is a new but directly TM-derived term that should be added to the shared translation memory.
dia Iēsou Christou tou kyriou hēmōn
through Jesus Christ our Lord
mediatorial agency
”through Jesus Christ our Lord”
Salvation is accomplished by the one God specifically through Christ’s mediatorial lordship — Trinity-consistent doxology.REUSE TM: येशू ख्रीष्ट हाम्रा प्रभुद्वारा. Critical.
megalōsynē
majesty, greatness
grandeur, supreme greatness
”majesty”
A distinct term from δόξα (glory) in the same doxological string — both must be rendered with distinct Nepali words.NEW TERM: महानता (majesty/greatness). Risk Medium: must remain lexically distinct from महिमा (glory, TM) though both appear together in this doxology.
kratos
might, power, dominion
forceful power, sovereign strength
”power,” “dominion,” “might”
A distinct term from δύναμις (used in the Romans baseline’s “power_of_god,” σαμर्थ्य) — both denote might but from different Greek roots.NEW TERM: पराक्रम (might/power). Risk High: NEVER शक्ति (identical rationale to the baseline’s power_of_god Critical prohibition regarding the Newar Tantric Shakta tradition) — this prohibition applies to every Greek word for divine power/might, not narrowly to δύναμις alone.
exousia
authority
delegated or inherent right to act/rule
”authority,” “dominion”
God’s supreme, inherent authority, as distinct from delegated human governmental authority (cf. Romans 13, flagged in the baseline for native-speaker review).NEW TERM: अधिकार (authority). Risk Medium.
pro pantos tou aiōnos…eis pantas tous aiōnas
before all time…unto all ages
eternity past and eternity future
”before all ages…forever,” “before time began…forevermore”
Affirms God’s linear, unbounded eternity — before and after all created time, not a cyclical succession of cosmic ages.NEW TERM: हरेक युगभन्दा अगाडि…सदाकाल (before every age…forever). Risk High: युग (age) risks resonance with Hindu yuga cosmology (the cyclical Satya/Treta/Dvapara/Kali Yuga system, a live cosmological framework in Nepal) — must be anchored as strictly linear, non-repeating eternity, identical in principle to the baseline’s fulfillment_of_prophecy doctrine’s warning against “the cyclical cosmic frame shared by Hindu yuga cosmology and Buddhist cycles of rebirth.”

Full-book coverage confirmation: All 25 verses of Jude (the entire book) have been reviewed above — vv.1-2 (salutation), vv.3-23 (core passage), vv.24-25 (doxology). No verse was silently omitted; every verse contributed load-bearing theological vocabulary, so no “no new vocabulary” note was required anywhere in this single-chapter book.
