Welcome to the Library

What is this?

The Library publishes the doctrine-aware translation research behind tri-bible.ai, one language and book at a time — free to read and reuse.

How to navigate

Pick a language, then a book, in the sidebar. Each book has a Doctrine Analysis, a Core Glossary, and, for the language as a whole, a Comparative Theology and Regional Analysis. Use the search icon in the top nav to jump straight to a term or doctrine instead of browsing.

What the risk tiers mean

Every doctrine and glossary term is labeled with how easily it could be misread or mistranslated in that language's own cultural and religious context:

Critical
A wrong word choice here risks distorting core theology — always reviewed by a theologian before use.
High
A real, well-documented risk of confusion with another tradition or belief system — needs theologian review.
Medium
Worth a native speaker's second look, but not likely to distort the core meaning.
Low
Minor wording nuance — low risk of confusion either way.

Cross-Reference Analysis

Cross-Reference Analysis — 2 Corinthians (English → Korean)

Citation Normalization Convention

All citations in this document use the normalized form <English Book Name> <chapter>:<verse> (e.g., 2 Corinthians 5:17, Genesis 15:6, Isaiah 49:8) so that citations remain machine-comparable across every language package in the TRI pipeline. This is an analysis-layer convention only. Phase 2 translated output must continue to follow the baseline’s Korean citation convention (Korean book name + Arabic chapter:verse, e.g. 고린도후서 5:17), per 12_ai_translation_requirements.md’s Cross-Reference Preservation Rules. The table below extends the baseline’s book-name table with every OT/NT book newly cited in this curriculum:

How to Use This Document

This matrix covers every identifiable OT quotation and allusion in every chapter of 2 Corinthians (1–13), plus messianic references, typology, and parallels to the Romans curriculum already delivered in this language pipeline. Columns:

  • Passage — the 2 Corinthians reference (normalized citation)
  • Theme — which of the eight curriculum doctrines, or sub-theme, the passage serves
  • Related Character(s) — biblical figures/entities in view
  • OT/NT Connection — the specific quoted, echoed, or typological source text and its relationship (direct quotation / allusion / typology / thematic parallel), plus any Romans-curriculum parallel
  • Translation Sensitivity — the Korean-specific rendering risk, referencing established translation_memory.json terms where applicable

Chapters with no direct OT quotation are explicitly marked “reviewed — allusion/typology only” or “reviewed — no OT connection; thematic note only,” per the full-coverage mandate.

Chapter 1

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 1:3Suffering and Comfort in MinistryGod the FatherAllusion to Isaiah 40:1 (“Comfort, comfort my people, says your God”) and thematic parallel to Romans 15:5 (“God of patience and comfort”).위로 (comfort) must be read as God’s own character-attribute, not a generic wish; ensure identical warmth of register used for Romans 15:5’s parallel phrase when both curricula are studied together.
2 Corinthians 1:9-10Suffering and Comfort in Ministry / Power in WeaknessPaul; God who raises the deadAllusion to the Genesis 22 pattern of trusting God who provides/delivers when death seems certain (cf. Hebrews-style “God who raises the dead,” conceptually parallel to Romans 4:17’s “God who gives life to the dead,” itself describing Abraham’s faith).Reuse baseline 부활-family caution: “raises the dead” must never evoke 환생/윤회; this is God’s unique life-giving power, matching Romans 4:17’s Abrahamic faith pattern.
2 Corinthians 1:20Fulfillment of Prophecy / Messianic PromiseChristDirect theological statement: all of God’s OT promises find their “Yes” in Christ — the same fulfillment logic underlying Romans 15:8-12’s messianic catena of OT citations.Reuse baseline “messianic_promise” (Medium) and “fulfillment_of_prophecy” (High) doctrine notes exactly; avoid conflating with a Buddhist/folk-millenarian promise-fulfillment framing (cf. 미륵 caution in baseline).
2 Corinthians 1:22New Creation in Christ / AssuranceHoly SpiritConceptual parallel to Romans 8:15-16, 23’s Spirit-as-guarantee/firstfruits of full inheritance; no direct OT quotation.보증 (ἀρραβών) risk already flagged High in 08_core_glossary.md; ensure consistent Spirit-guarantee language matches Romans 8’s adoption/Spirit-guarantee logic.

Chapter 2

Reviewed — no direct OT quotation in this chapter. Two notable allusions:

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 2:14-16Sincerity and Apostolic AuthorityPaul; those being saved / those perishingAllusion to the OT sacrificial “pleasing aroma” formula (Genesis 8:21; Leviticus 1:9, 1:13, 1:17 — “a pleasing aroma to the Lord”), transposed from a literal burnt-offering image to the gospel’s proclamation-effect.향기 (fragrance) risk already flagged High: the underlying OT image is itself a sacrificial-offering metaphor, which increases (not decreases) the risk of collision with Korean jesa incense-offering ritual; teaching must clarify this is Paul’s own OT-rooted metaphor for gospel proclamation, not license to read it through a Korean ancestral-incense lens.
2 Corinthians 2:17Sincerity and Apostolic AuthorityPaul; rival teachersNo direct OT quotation; thematic parallel to OT prophetic denunciations of profiteering false prophets/priests (cf. Micah 3:11, Jeremiah 6:13 — “everyone deals falsely for gain,” not directly cited but the same prophetic pattern Paul stands in).말씀을 혼잡하게 하다 (peddling the word) already High risk per glossary; the OT prophetic background reinforces that this is a recognized biblical category of ministry corruption, useful for Korean self-critical teaching on commercialized ministry.

Chapter 3

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 3:3The New Covenant versus the OldBelievers; Moses (background)Allusion to Jeremiah 31:33 (“I will write my law on their hearts”) and Ezekiel 11:19 / Ezekiel 36:26 (“I will give them a new heart… a heart of flesh”). This is the direct OT ground of the New Covenant doctrine.Must be taught as God’s own gracious inward transformation (matching 성화/sanctification’s High-risk baseline caution against self-cultivation 수행/도 닦기), not a Confucian inward moral self-perfection achieved by discipline.
2 Corinthians 3:6-11The New Covenant versus the OldMoses; PaulDirect typological development of Exodus 34:29-35 (Moses’ shining, then veiled, face after receiving the Law). Also conceptually parallel to Romans 7:6 (“serve in the new way of the Spirit, not the old way of the letter”) — near-verbatim doctrinal parallel across the two curricula.율법 조문/영 (letter/Spirit) contrast: Rendering-consistency rule — Romans 7:6’s “letter/Spirit” phrasing and 2 Corinthians 3:6’s must use identical Korean vocabulary (율법의 조문 / 영) wherever both curricula are cross-taught, since they express the same Pauline doctrine.
2 Corinthians 3:13-16The New Covenant versus the Old / Unity of Jews and Gentiles (background)Moses; IsraelDirect typology: Exodus 34:33-35 (Moses’ veil) reapplied to Israel’s ongoing spiritual veiling when reading the old covenant “to this day,” removed only “in Christ.” Thematic parallel to Romans 11:7-10, 25 (Israel’s partial hardening, later removed).Reuse Romans baseline’s “unity_of_jews_and_gentiles” (High) doctrine notes; this veil-typology must not be read as ethnic condemnation but as a temporary redemptive-historical condition addressed by Christ, paralleling Romans 11’s argument.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18The New Covenant versus the Old / New Creation in ChristHoly SpiritNo direct OT quotation; the “unveiled face…transformed” image echoes Exodus 34’s Moses typology from above and Numbers 6:25 (“the Lord make his face shine upon you,” priestly blessing background).See Ch.3 special flag already noted in 07_semantic_analysis.md: bare 영 here is the Holy Spirit and must be glossed as such, never as a generic/shamanistic spirit.

Chapter 4

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 4:4Genuine versus False Apostleship”the god of this age” (Satan)Thematic (not quoted) parallel to OT language of false gods blinding worshippers (cf. Isaiah 44:18-20’s idol-blindness motif); conceptually parallel to Romans 1:21-23’s darkened understanding/idolatry sequence.사탄 already Low-Medium risk per glossary; the “god of this age” title must not be softened into a generic malevolent-spirit (귀신) framing — a specific, personal, defeated adversary opposing the one true God (하나님, Critical).
2 Corinthians 4:6New Creation in ChristGod; ChristDirect allusion to Genesis 1:3 (“Let there be light”) and to Isaiah 9:2 (“the people walking in darkness have seen a great light”), applied to the new-creation light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Christ.Creation-language collision risk: must be taught as God’s own re-creative act (paralleling 새로운 피조물, Critical, in 5:17) — not a self-generated inner “enlightenment” (an easy false parallel to Buddhist 깨달음, enlightenment-attainment).
2 Corinthians 4:13Faith / Sincerity and Apostolic AuthorityThe Psalmist; PaulDirect quotation of Psalm 116:10 (“I believed, therefore I spoke,” LXX).믿음 (faith, High risk, baseline) — confession flowing from settled trust; parallel to Romans 10:9-10’s confession-of-faith doctrine (“Rendering-consistency rule” below).
2 Corinthians 4:17-18Suffering and Comfort in MinistryBelieversNo direct OT quotation; thematic parallel to OT wisdom-literature contrasts between transient affliction and eternal reward (cf. Psalm 30:5, Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).환난 (affliction, High risk) contrasted with unseen eternal glory; reinforce distinction from impersonal fate/misfortune (액운) already flagged in the semantic analysis.

Chapter 5 (Core Passage 5:11-21, plus 5:1-10)

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 5:1-4New Creation in Christ (future hope)BelieversTypological echo of the tabernacle/“tent” imagery (Exodus 25-27) and Isaiah 38:12 (“my dwelling is plucked up and removed from me like a shepherd’s tent”).장막 집 (earthly tent) — low risk per glossary; moderate OT-literacy dependency on tabernacle background, per baseline’s stated audience assumption.
2 Corinthians 5:5New Creation in Christ / AssuranceHoly SpiritConceptual parallel to Romans 8:23’s “firstfruits of the Spirit” as a guarantee of future resurrection/inheritance; reuses ἀρραβών from 2 Corinthians 1:22.보증 — Rendering-consistency rule: identical Korean term (보증) must be used at 1:22 and 5:5 within this curriculum, and must not diverge from any future rendering of Romans 8:23’s “firstfruits” guarantee-logic.
2 Corinthians 5:10Suffering and Comfort in Ministry / Power in WeaknessChrist as judge; believersNo direct OT quotation; conceptually parallel to OT final-accounting texts (Psalm 62:12, Ecclesiastes 12:14, Daniel 7:9-10’s throne-of-judgment scene) and to Romans 14:10-12’s “we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.”Direct cross-curriculum parallel: 2 Corinthians 5:10 and Romans 14:10 describe the same bema-judgment event; ensure 심판대 (judgment seat) is rendered identically in both curricula’s teaching materials. Distinguish from karmic/underworld-judgment folk concepts per the semantic analysis (시왕, 인과응보).
2 Corinthians 5:14-15Reconciliation with God / New Creation in ChristChristConceptual parallel (not direct quotation) to Romans 5:6-8, 5:15-19’s “one died for all” substitutionary-representative logic (Adam/Christ typology background).그리스도의 사랑 (love of Christ) and representative death — rendering-consistency rule: the substitution logic here must align with Romans 5’s already-established “christian_identity_in_christ” doctrine notes (dying/rising with Christ).
2 Corinthians 5:17New Creation in ChristBelievers “in Christ”Direct allusion to Isaiah 43:18-19 (“do not remember the former things… I am doing a new thing”) and Isaiah 65:17 (“I create new heavens and a new earth”), and behind those, Genesis 1’s creation account itself.새로운 피조물 (Critical) — the OT “new thing”/“new heavens and new earth” background reinforces that this is God’s own sovereign re-creative act, not a self-improvement or ritual fortune-reset (액땜, 살풀이), per the semantic analysis.
2 Corinthians 5:18-20Reconciliation with GodGod; Christ; Paul as ambassadorNo direct OT quotation; the ambassador/envoy image (πρεσβεύω) echoes OT royal-messenger conventions (cf. 2 Chronicles 36:15’s prophets sent as God’s messengers) without being a direct citation.화목 (Critical) and 사신이 되다 (ambassador, Medium) — see semantic analysis for full collision notes (jesa ancestral-appeasement logic; secular-harmony collapse).
2 Corinthians 5:21Reconciliation with God / New Creation in ChristChrist; believersDirect typological fulfillment of Isaiah 53:5-6, 9, 12 (the sinless Servant “bearing” others’ sin, “made an offering for sin,” “bore the sin of many”). Also the direct forensic complement to Genesis 15:6, quoted in Romans 4:3 (“Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness”).Critical rendering-consistency rule: the imputation logic in 2 Corinthians 5:21 (“become the righteousness of God”) is the reverse-and-complement of Romans 4:3’s imputed-righteousness doctrine (의로 여기심, Critical in the baseline). Both must use 의 (righteousness) and 의로 여기심 consistently; teaching materials should explicitly cross-reference Genesis 15:6 / Romans 4:3 here as required background.

Chapter 6

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 6:2Reconciliation with GodGod; PaulDirect quotation of Isaiah 49:8 (“In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you”).은혜받을 만한 때 (acceptable time) — Low risk; reinforce this is the present gospel-age fulfillment of Isaiah’s servant-song promise, not a generic auspicious-timing/fortune-favorable-day folk concept (cf. Korean folk almanac “좋은 날” day-selection practice — must not be conflated).
2 Corinthians 6:14Sincerity and Apostolic AuthorityBelieversBackground allusion (not quotation) to Deuteronomy 22:10’s prohibition on plowing with ox and donkey together, the source image behind “unequally yoked.”멍에를 함께 메지 말라 — Medium risk; the OT background is agricultural-legal, not marriage-arrangement law; teaching should clarify the image’s origin to prevent the Confucian family-matching misapplication already flagged.
2 Corinthians 6:16-18Church as God’s People / Reconciliation with GodGod; Israel; believersDirect composite quotation (catena) drawing on Leviticus 26:12 (“I will walk among you and be your God”), Ezekiel 37:27 (“my dwelling place will be with them”), Isaiah 52:11 (“come out from among them and be separate”), Jeremiah 51:45 (a related “come out” call), 2 Samuel 7:14 (“I will be his father, and he will be my son” — Davidic sonship formula), and Isaiah 43:6 (“bring my sons… my daughters”).하나님의 성전 (High) and the sonship formula directly anticipate the “father”/“adoption” Critical-risk baseline entries; rendering-consistency rule: the “I will be your Father, you will be my sons/daughters” formula here must match the relational warmth of Romans 8:15’s Abba-Father/adoption doctrine, not the jesa ancestor-veneration direction of care.

Chapter 7

Reviewed — no direct OT quotation in this chapter.

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 7:9-10The New Covenant versus the Old (repentance)Corinthian churchThematic (not quoted) parallel to OT repentance texts: Joel 2:12-13 (“return to me with all your heart… rend your heart, not your garments”) and Psalm 51:17 (“a broken and contrite heart”).회개 (repentance, High risk) — reinforce NEVER 참회 (Buddhist ritual karma-confession); the OT background (inward heart-turning, not outward ritual) supports this distinction well and should be used pedagogically.
2 Corinthians 7:1SanctificationBelieversConceptual parallel to Leviticus 11:44-45’s holiness call (“be holy, for I am holy”), and to Romans 12:1’s “living sacrifice” consecration language.거룩한 (High, baseline) — reused exactly; reinforce moral-relational holiness, not ritual purification (부정을 씻음).

Chapter 8

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 8:9Generosity and Grace in Giving / New Creation in Christ (incarnation background)ChristTypological/thematic parallel to Isaiah 53:2-3 (the Servant’s lowliness/poverty) and conceptually parallel to the kenosis pattern also assumed in Romans 8:3, 15:3 (“Christ did not please himself”). No direct OT quotation.가난하게 되심 — Medium risk; ties Christ’s self-impoverishment to the Incarnation doctrine (Critical/High in baseline); must not be read as a provisional appearance (화신), per baseline Incarnation rule.
2 Corinthians 8:15Generosity and Grace in GivingIsrael in the wildernessDirect quotation of Exodus 16:18 (“he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack” — the manna narrative).균등/평등 (equality, Medium) — the manna background clarifies this is God’s own provision-based fairness principle, not a modern redistributive-economics claim; useful anchor against the contemporary political-equality-discourse collision flagged in the glossary.

Chapter 9

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 9:7Generosity and Grace in GivingGiverEchoes the Greek Old Testament (Septuagint) wording of Proverbs 22:8a (LXX addition, “God blesses a cheerful and giving man”), not present in the Hebrew Masoretic Text but part of the Greek OT tradition Paul draws on; also background thematic parallel to Deuteronomy 15:10’s “give generously… without a grudging heart.”즐겨 내는 자 (cheerful giver, Medium) — reinforce non-transactional, joy-motivated giving; the LXX/Deuteronomy background supports distinguishing this from merit-purchasing almsgiving (시주) or ritual-fee (굿값) patterns already flagged Critical under generosity.
2 Corinthians 9:9Generosity and Grace in GivingThe righteous giver (Psalmist’s figure)Direct quotation of Psalm 112:9 (“He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever”).Note: 의 (righteousness) here denotes practical, lived righteous generosity, not the forensic/imputed 의 of Romans 4 / 2 Corinthians 5:21. Flag for Phase 2: disambiguate by context so learners do not conflate this ethical-generosity sense of 의 with the Critical-risk forensic-justification sense established in the baseline.

Chapter 10

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 10:17-18Genuine versus False Apostleship / Sincerity and Apostolic AuthorityPaul; rival teachersDirect quotation of Jeremiah 9:24 (“let him who boasts, boast in the Lord” — Paul also cites this same verse in 1 Corinthians 1:31).Critical rendering-consistency rule: 자랑 (boast) must be rendered identically wherever this Jeremiah 9:24 quotation recurs across Pauline curricula in this pipeline (already anticipated for 1 Corinthians in a future package); ensure the Korean wording matches the KRV’s established phrasing exactly, since this is a fixed OT quotation, not free composition.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5Power in WeaknessBelieversConceptual (not quoted) parallel to OT holy-war/divine-warrior imagery repurposed spiritually (cf. Isaiah 2:4’s swords-to-plowshares inversion is not the source; closer is the general prophetic pattern of God’s word as a weapon, e.g. Jeremiah 23:29, “is not my word like fire… like a hammer”).견고한 진 (stronghold, Medium) — reinforce intellectual/ideological referent (proud reasoning against God), not literal territorial-spirit warfare requiring ritual exorcism (cf. 굿을 통한 축귀 caution in semantic analysis).

Chapter 11

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 11:2-3Genuine versus False ApostleshipThe church (as bride); Eve; the serpent (Satan)Direct typology: Genesis 3:1-6 (the serpent’s deception of Eve) applied to the church’s vulnerability to doctrinal deception by false apostles; the betrothal image echoes OT covenant-marriage imagery (Hosea 2:19-20; Isaiah 62:5).Reuse 사탄 (Low-Medium, glossary) and 거짓 사도 (High, glossary); the Eve/serpent typology gives concrete biblical vocabulary for teaching discernment against contemporary Korean cult/self-declared-messiah phenomena, per the semantic analysis note.
2 Corinthians 11:14Genuine versus False ApostleshipSatanNo direct OT quotation; the “angel of light” disguise motif has background resonance with OT accounts of deceptive prophetic/spiritual appearances (cf. 1 Kings 22:19-23’s deceiving spirit sent among false prophets), though not a direct citation.가장하다/광명의 천사 (Medium-High) — reinforce that deceptive spiritual authority can appear compellingly good; useful for discernment teaching.

Chapter 12

Reviewed — no direct OT quotation in this chapter; two significant allusions:

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 12:1-4Genuine versus False ApostleshipPaulThematic/visionary parallel to OT throne-vision and heavenly-ascent accounts (Ezekiel 1’s throne vision; Daniel 7’s heavenly scene; cf. also the apocalyptic “third heaven” cosmology current in Second Temple Jewish literature). No direct OT quotation.셋째 하늘/낙원 (High) — reinforce this is a unique, unrepeatable apostolic-authenticating revelation of God’s own presence, not a template for ordinary believers, and must be distinguished from the Buddhist Pure Land (극락) concept per the semantic analysis.
2 Corinthians 12:7Power in WeaknessPaul; “a messenger of Satan”Likely echoes the OT idiom of persistent adversarial affliction found in Numbers 33:55 (“thorns in your sides”) and Joshua 23:13 (“scourges in your sides and thorns in your eyes”) — both OT images of ongoing affliction permitted as a consequence/test within God’s sovereign purpose.육체의 가시 (thorn in the flesh, High) — the OT background reinforces that this is a God-permitted, purpose-bearing affliction addressed directly to the Lord in prayer, not an ancestral curse (조상의 한) requiring ritual removal (푸닥거리, 살풀이), per the semantic analysis.
2 Corinthians 12:9Power in WeaknessChrist; PaulNo direct OT quotation; conceptually parallel to Romans 8:26’s Spirit helping “in our weakness” (ἀσθένεια, same root) and to the broader OT pattern of God’s strength displayed through human inadequacy (e.g., Judges 7’s Gideon narrative — army deliberately reduced so the victory is recognizably the Lord’s, not directly cited but a recognized canonical type).능력이 약한 데서 온전하여짐 (Critical) — cross-curriculum rendering-consistency rule: ensure 능력 here is not softened toward the baseline Romans “power_of_god” entry’s salvation-specific sense (1:16) without also carrying this passage’s distinct weakness-paradox nuance; both senses share the same Korean word 능력 but must be taught with their distinct contextual point.

Chapter 13

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
2 Corinthians 13:1Sincerity and Apostolic AuthorityPaul; the Corinthian churchDirect quotation/citation of the legal principle in Deuteronomy 19:15 (“a matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses”).자신을 시험하다 (Medium, glossary context); the Deuteronomy legal background reinforces that Paul’s warnings carry OT-rooted judicial legitimacy, not merely personal authority — helps ground “Apostolic Authority” doctrinally rather than socially/charismatically.
2 Corinthians 13:14Sincerity and Apostolic Authority (closing) / all doctrines (Trinitarian summary)Father, Son, Holy SpiritStructural (not quotational) parallel to the Aaronic priestly benediction, Numbers 6:24-26 (“The Lord bless you and keep you… the Lord make his face shine upon you… the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace”) — both are threefold closing blessing-formulas invoking the divine name(s) over the gathered people.Critical rendering-consistency rule (already flagged in 08_core_glossary.md #5): 은혜/사랑/교통하심 (grace/love/fellowship) must each retain their individually established baseline/curriculum renderings and must never be abbreviated or paraphrased, given this benediction’s frequent independent liturgical use in Korean church life.

Parallels to the Romans Curriculum — Summary Table

2 Corinthians Theme/PassageRomans Parallel PassageShared DoctrineRendering-Consistency Requirement
2 Corinthians 5:21 (imputed righteousness)Romans 4:3 (citing Genesis 15:6); Romans 4:5-6imputed_righteousness (Critical)Use identical 의로 여기심 wording; teach as two halves of one forensic transaction
2 Corinthians 3:6 (letter/Spirit)Romans 7:6; Romans 2:29Fulfillment of the Law by the SpiritIdentical 율법 조문/영 phrasing across curricula
2 Corinthians 3:14-16 (veil over Israel)Romans 11:7-10, 25 (partial hardening)Unity of Jews and Gentiles / Israel’s futureConsistent, non-condemnatory framing of Israel’s temporary veiling
2 Corinthians 5:10 (judgment seat)Romans 14:10-12Suffering and Comfort in Ministry (accountability, not condemnation)Identical 심판대 rendering; both distinct from Romans 8:1’s “no condemnation”
2 Corinthians 6:18 (sonship formula)Romans 8:15-16 (Abba, adoption)Adoption into God’s FamilySame relational warmth; NOT jesa ancestor-care direction
2 Corinthians 10:17 (boast in the Lord, Jeremiah 9:24)Romans 3:27; Romans 5:2-3 (boasting excluded/reoriented)Genuine vs False Apostleship / GraceIdentical 자랑 vocabulary; same paradox (boasting excluded by grace, yet redirected to boasting “in the Lord”/in weakness)
2 Corinthians 12:9 (power in weakness)Romans 8:26 (Spirit helps in weakness)Power in WeaknessSame ἀσθένεια-family Korean rendering (약함) alongside 능력 (Critical)
2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5 (Spirit as guarantee)Romans 8:23 (firstfruits of the Spirit)New Creation / AssuranceConsistent guarantee/firstfruits logic; 보증 term used consistently within this curriculum
2 Corinthians 8-9 (generosity)Romans 12:8, 13 (giving as a grace-gift; contribute to needs)Generosity and Grace in GivingSame non-transactional grace-framing as Romans’ 기복신앙 guard on 은혜

Rendering-Consistency Rules for Shared Quotations (Binding for Phase 2)

  1. Genesis 15:6 / Romans 4:3 / 2 Corinthians 5:21 — the imputation-of-righteousness logic must use 의 and 의로 여기심 identically in both curricula; 2 Corinthians 5:21 is the positive complement to the negative statement in 5:19 (“not imputing trespasses”), and both halves must preserve the forensic-accounting sense established in the Romans baseline.
  2. Jeremiah 9:24 (boasting in the Lord) — quoted at 2 Corinthians 10:17 (and elsewhere in Pauline literature outside this pipeline’s current scope); render with the fixed KRV wording every time it recurs, using 자랑, not a synonym, to preserve quotation-recognizability for readers.
  3. 2 Samuel 7:14 / Isaiah 43:6 catena (2 Corinthians 6:18) — the Father/sons-and-daughters formula must echo, not contradict, the relational (not ritual-obligation) sense already established for 아버지 and 양자 in the Romans baseline.
  4. Exodus 34 / “letter and Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:6-18) and Romans 7:6 — identical Korean phrasing (율법의 조문 / 영, with 영 glossed as the Holy Spirit in context) required across both curricula’s teaching materials.
  5. Judgment-seat language (2 Corinthians 5:10 / Romans 14:10) — identical 심판대 rendering; both must be taught as consistent with, not contradicting, the security already granted in Romans 8:1.
  6. Trinitarian formulas — 2 Corinthians 13:14’s closing benediction and any Romans Trinitarian references (e.g., Romans 8’s Father/Son/Spirit unit) must use the same individual terms (하나님/아버지, 그리스도/예수/주님, 성령) without variation.

End of cross-reference analysis. All quotation/allusion entries above must inform the extended translation_memory.json and doctrine_risk_registry.json updates in subsequent Phase 1 steps, and must be loaded alongside 07_semantic_analysis.md and 08_core_glossary.md before Phase 2 segment translation begins.
