Doctrine Analysis
11 — Doctrine Analysis: 2 Timothy (English–Korean)
Purpose
This document provides the full doctrine matrix for the 2 Timothy curriculum, covering every chapter (1–4) from first to last. It is consistent with assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json (same 20 doctrines, same risk tiers, same review routing) and extends the baseline Romans Language Package without contradicting it. The core passage (2 Timothy 3:14–4:5) is the theological anchor of the curriculum, not its scope boundary — every chapter is analyzed below, including sections that lie outside the core passage.
Risk tiers and review routing follow the baseline’s risk_definitions exactly:
| Tier | Definition | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | Mistranslation alters or destroys essential doctrine | Human theologian, every occurrence |
| High | Mistranslation creates significant theological confusion or syncretism risk | Human theologian |
| Medium | Mistranslation reduces clarity but preserves essential meaning | Native speaker review |
| Low | Mistranslation causes minor misunderstanding or imprecision | Automated review |
Part A — Full Doctrine Matrix (All 20 Doctrines)
| # | Doctrine | Category | Risk | Supporting Passages (2 Timothy) | Translation Risk Summary | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture | Scripture | Critical | 3:14-15, 3:16-17 | θεόπνευστος (“God-breathed”) collides with secular 영감 (artistic inspiration) and shamanistic 감동/기운을 받다 (mudang’s trance-moving). Must render as the fixed compound 하나님의 감동으로 된, a unique once-for-all divine act constituting the text, never a repeatable mystical experience. 성경 must not be leveled to a generic “sacred text” category alongside Confucian classics or Buddhist sutras. 온전히 구비되다 (3:17) must preserve Scripture’s SUFFICIENCY — that it alone fully equips — against a culture with strong parallel devotional/classical literatures. | Human theologian |
| 2 | Guarding Sound Doctrine | Doctrine/Ecclesiology | Critical | 1:12-14, 2:2, 2:15, 4:3 | παραθήκη (“the entrusted deposit”) risks flattening into ordinary 부탁 (a renegotiable social favor) rather than a treasure entrusted by God to be guarded intact. The Holy Spirit’s enabling role (1:14, 성령) must not echo shamanistic spirit-indwelling/possession. 바른 교훈 must retain its “healthy vs. diseased” medical-metaphor force identically across all Pastoral Epistles occurrences. | Human theologian |
| 3 | The Charge to Preach the Word | Ministry/Proclamation | Critical | 4:1-2, 4:5 | Issued “in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead” — judicial solemnity (엄히 명하노니) must not be softened into casual suggestion. 전파하다 must retain authoritative public heralding, distinguished from a shaman’s utterance or a fortune-teller’s pronouncement (점쟁이 발언). 나타나심 (Christ’s appearing) must stay distinct from 성육신 (past incarnation) and never suggest a repeatable divine manifestation/avatar-appearance. | Human theologian |
| 4 | Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days | Eschatology/Polemic | Critical | 3:1-9, 3:13, 4:3-4 | 3:5’s “form of godliness… denying its power” inverts the baseline’s Critical 능력 term — false teachers lack true transforming power; readers must not misread this as license to seek more visible spiritual power (which would reproduce the 기복신앙/영력-seeking pattern the passage condemns). γόης (3:13) etymologically echoes mudang/magician vocabulary; render only as 속이는 자, never 무당/술사. μῦθος (4:4) must never single out Korea’s own founding-myth material (Dangun/Hwanung). 말세/고통하는 때 must be separated from Korean folk-millenarian doomsday date-setting (e.g., 개벽). | Human theologian |
| 5 | Assurance of Reward | Eschatology/Reward | Critical | 2:5, 2:11-13, 4:7-8 | 의의 면류관 carries double risk: (1) inherits the baseline’s 의/의리 collision — the crown flows from grace-given righteousness and persevering faith, not relational loyalty-display (의리); (2) 면류관 risks feeding Korea’s achievement/status culture (cf. baseline’s 출세/명예 cautions), reframing a grace-grounded eschatological reward as this-worldly prestige. Must be taught as Christ’s future, gracious award for persevering faith, never a merit badge. | Human theologian |
| 6 | Grace | Salvation (inherited from baseline) | Critical | 1:2, 1:9, 2:1, 4:22 | 1:9’s “not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace” requires the same vigilance as Romans 4:4-5/11:5-6. The brief closing benediction (4:22) is vulnerable to a formulaic reading that drains its unearned, non-transactional force, risking assimilation to the 기복신앙 exchange pattern if taught as a ritual farewell blessing. | Human theologian |
| 7 | Salvation | Salvation (inherited from baseline) | Critical | 1:9, 1:10, 2:10, 3:15 | 3:15’s “wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” must never be rendered/taught as 해탈 or escape from an impersonal suffering-cycle. 구주 (Savior, 1:10) must never be conflated with a folk-religious deliverer-figure such as 미륵, a risk elevated by this book’s heightened last-days framing (ch. 3-4). | Human theologian |
| 8 | Lordship and Future Judgeship of Christ | Christology | Critical | 2:8, 2:12, 4:1, 4:8, 4:18 | 주님 must retain exclusive, supreme Lordship throughout, marked with the honorific 님 suffix. Christ’s Lordship here is uniquely combined with his role as coming universal Judge (4:1, 4:8) and risen “offspring of David” (2:8); this personal, singular identity must not diffuse into an impersonal karmic reckoning process or a generic ancestral/legendary heavenly figure. | Human theologian |
| 9 | Holy Spirit’s Empowerment for Ministry | Pneumatology | Critical | 1:6-7, 1:14 | ”Spirit of power and love and sound mind” (1:7) and the Spirit who “dwells within us” to guard sound doctrine (1:14) must be taught as the personal, third Person of the Trinity granting inward boldness and self-mastery — explicitly NOT a shaman’s spirit-power (영력) or a spirit-possession experience during gut ritual. 안수함 (laying on of hands, 1:6) must not read as a ritual transfer of impersonal spiritual force. | Human theologian |
| 10 | Perseverance under Suffering | Sanctification/Ministry | High | 1:8, 1:12, 2:3, 2:9, 3:11-12, 4:5 | Suffering is normal and necessary for gospel ministry, never a sign of God’s disfavor or insufficient blessing — guards against a 기복신앙-style expectation that faithful ministry and true 은혜 should yield visible comfort or material prosperity. 3:12’s unqualified “all” who desire to live godly must retain universality, paralleling the baseline’s caution on Romans 3:23/10:12-13. | Human theologian |
| 11 | Faithful Transmission of the Gospel | Ecclesiology/Tradition | High | 1:3, 1:5, 2:2 | 2:2’s multi-generational transmission chain (Paul → Timothy → faithful people → others also) must not be flattened. 1:3’s “forefathers” (조상) directly collides with Korean ancestor-memorial rites (제사) and Confucian ancestor veneration; must be taught as continuity of worshipping the same God across generations, never as validating ancestor-rite devotion — the sharpest doctrinal collision point in Korean church history per the baseline’s “father” entry. | Human theologian |
| 12 | Divine Calling and Gifting for Ministry | Vocation | High | 1:1, 1:6, 1:9, 1:11 | 1:9’s calling “according to his own purpose and grace… not because of our works” must remain a personal, relational summons, never echoing saju-paljja birth-chart fate (사주팔자) or 팔자에 정해진 language. 은사 (spiritual gift, 1:6) must not be framed as a shaman’s spirit-power (영력) transmitted through the physical act of 안수. | Human theologian |
| 13 | Faith | Faith | High | 1:5, 3:15, 4:7 | Personal trust in Christ specifically (Lois/Eunice’s sincere faith, 1:5; “faith in Christ Jesus,” 3:15), never generic belief (미신) or confidence placed in fortune-telling/astrology (사주팔자). 4:7’s “I have kept the faith” retains both the personal-trust sense and the guarding sense shared with παραθήκη vocabulary. | Human theologian |
| 14 | Sanctification and Ministry Usefulness | Sanctification | High | 2:20-22, 3:16 | Believers’ self-purification for useful service (2:20-22) must be distinguished from ascetic self-cultivation (수행, 도 닦기) drawn from Korean Buddhist/folk-religious practice; this is Spirit-produced fitness for the Lord’s use. “Training in righteousness” (3:16) carries the baseline’s 의/의리 distinguishing flag even in this sanctification-oriented context. | Human theologian |
| 15 | Repentance and Deliverance from the Devil’s Snare | Soteriology/Pastoral | High | 2:24-26 | 회개 (repentance, 2:25) must be God-granted, never self-achieved moral effort or ritual atonement — excludes conflation with Confucian/Buddhist self-cultivation (수양) or ritual-penance-flavored 참회. The devil (마귀, 2:26) is one personal malevolent being, not one impersonal evil-spirit force among many in a Korean folk-spiritual pantheon. | Human theologian |
| 16 | Resurrection of Christ (and its Distortion) | Christology/Eschatology | High | 2:8, 2:17-18 | 2:18’s false teaching that “the resurrection has already happened” (Hymenaeus, Philetus) places this term in a false-teaching context, heightening precision needs: 부활 must never be explained confusably with 환생 (rebirth) or 윤회 (reincarnation cycle); the false teachers’ error must be marked as a distortion of the one bodily resurrection, not a legitimately debatable spiritualized alternative. | Human theologian |
| 17 | Universal Scope of Persecution for Godliness | Ethics/Eschatology | High | 3:12 | A distinct universality claim: ALL who desire to live godly WILL be persecuted, no exceptions. Must resist softening into a probabilistic or optional expectation, paralleling the baseline’s insistence on preserving “all have sinned”/“everyone who calls” without qualification. | Human theologian |
| 18 | Davidic Covenant Fulfillment in Christ | Covenant | Medium | 2:8 | ”Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David” requires OT covenant background; Korean already cleanly distinguishes 언약 (covenant) from 계약 (contract), a genuine strength inherited from the baseline that lowers this doctrine’s collision risk. | Native speaker review |
| 19 | Sacrificial Self-Offering in Ministry | Ministry/Piety | Medium | 4:6-7, 4:17-18 | Paul’s framing of his death as a 전제 (drink offering) must reference specifically OT/Levitical sacrificial worship of God, not Confucian ancestral-rite libation vocabulary (also sometimes called 전제/제사 in folk usage). 강하게 하셨다 (strengthened) and 건지시다 (rescued) must retain personal, relational framing (“the Lord stood by me”), not impersonal-force language. | Native speaker review |
| 20 | Thanksgiving and Intercession | Piety/Prayer | Low | 1:3 | Standard, low-collision terms; minor risk of generic secular gratitude/mediation reading without reference to God, and of confusing intercessory prayer with a mudang’s ritual mediation between the living and spirits, per baseline caution. | Automated review |
Risk Summary (must match doctrine_risk_registry.json): Critical: 9 · High: 8 · Medium: 2 · Low: 1 · Total requiring theologian review: 17 · Total requiring native speaker review: 2 · Total automated only: 1

Part C — Cross-Chapter Doctrinal Threads
Several doctrines span multiple chapters and must be rendered with identical vocabulary at every occurrence per the baseline’s Theological Consistency Rules:
- Guarding Sound Doctrine threads from the entrusted deposit (1:12-14) through rightly handling the word (2:15) to sound doctrine rejected (4:3) — 바른 교훈 and 지키다/부탁하신 것 must be consistent throughout.
- Assurance of Reward threads from the athlete metaphor (2:5) through reigning with Christ (2:11-13) to the crown of righteousness (4:7-8) — the grace-grounded, non-meritorious framing must be reinforced at each occurrence, not only at 4:8.
- Perseverance under Suffering threads from 1:8 through the soldier/athlete/farmer imagery of chapter 2 to the universal persecution principle of 3:12 and the final charge of 4:5 — suffering-as-normal-for-ministry must never drift toward a 기복신앙-shaped expectation of reward-for-comfort.
- Resurrection appears in both a correct-doctrine sense (2:8, Christ truly risen) and a false-doctrine sense (2:17-18, resurrection wrongly claimed as already past) — translators must ensure both occurrences use the identical term 부활 while the surrounding context (not the term itself) carries the doctrinal correction.
Confirmation of Full-Book Coverage
All four chapters of 2 Timothy have been reviewed verse-range by verse-range. No chapter is silently omitted. Chapters 1, 2, and the non-core portion of chapter 3 (3:1-13) and chapter 4 (4:6-22) all contribute independent load-bearing doctrinal content beyond the core passage (3:14-4:5) and are fully represented in Part B above. This matrix is consistent with, and does not contradict, assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json’s 20 doctrines, risk tiers, and review routing.
This document should be read alongside analysis/08_core_glossary.md (term-level detail) and must be merged into Phase 2 review-routing configuration without alteration to the risk tiers recorded here.
Critical Risk Doctrines
Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture
Korean name: 성경의 영감과 충족성
Key terms: god_breathed, scripture, profitable, teaching_doctrine, reproof, correction, training_discipline, complete_proficient, fully_equipped
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL: θεόπνευστος (‘God-breathed’) is the single highest-risk term in this book. The ordinary Korean word for ‘inspiration,’ 영감, also denotes secular artistic inspiration and a ‘flash of insight,’ and Korean shamanistic folk practice speaks of 감동/기운을 받다 (‘receiving a spiritual moving’) during a mudang’s trance state. Must anchor firmly to the established KRV compound 하나님의 감동으로 된 and teach Scripture’s inspiration as a unique, once-for-all divine act constituting the text itself, never a repeatable mystical experience. Compounded by 성경 needing to be held apart from a generic ‘sacred text’ category shared with Confucian classics or Buddhist sutras, and by 온전히 구비되다 (3:17) needing to preserve Scripture’s SUFFICIENCY — that it alone fully equips, not merely one resource among others (a risk in a culture with strong parallel devotional literatures, e.g. Confucian classics, alongside Christian practice).
Guarding Sound Doctrine
Korean name: 바른 교훈을 지킴
Key terms: entrusted_deposit, guard, sound_doctrine, rightly_handling, holy_spirit, faithful_men
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL: παραθήκη (‘the entrusted deposit’) risks collapsing into ordinary Korean interpersonal 부탁 (a social favor/request that can be renegotiated or partially fulfilled), rather than the intended banking/trust-deposit sense of a treasure entrusted by God to be guarded intact. Compounded because the Holy Spirit’s role as the one who enables this guarding (1:14, 성령) must not be framed with language echoing shamanistic spirit-indwelling/possession (a mudang’s spirit-filling during gut ritual). 바른 교훈 (sound doctrine) must retain its ‘healthy vs. diseased’ medical-metaphor force across every Pastoral Epistle occurrence, not flatten into bare ‘correct information.‘
The Charge to Preach the Word
Korean name: 말씀을 전파하라는 명령
Key terms: preach_proclaim, solemnly_charge, judge_living_and_dead, appearing_of_christ, word_gospel_content, evangelist
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL: the charge is issued ‘in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead’ (엄히 명하노니) — this judicial solemnity must not be softened into a casual pastoral suggestion. 전파하다 (preach) must retain authoritative public heralding, distinguished from a shaman’s utterance or a fortune-teller’s pronouncement (점쟁이 발언), both familiar oral-authority patterns in Korean folk religious life that could wrongly color the reader’s sense of what ‘proclaiming a message’ looks like. 나타나심 (Christ’s appearing) must be kept distinct from 성육신 (the past, unique incarnation) and must never suggest a repeatable divine manifestation/avatar-appearance.
Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days
Korean name: 말세의 배교와 거짓 교사들
Key terms: perilous_times, imposter_sorcerer, godliness, form_of_godliness_and_its_power, myth_fable, jannes_and_jambres, deceiving_and_being_deceived
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL: 3:5’s ‘form of godliness… denying its power’ directly invokes the baseline’s Critical 능력 (power_of_god) term in an INVERTED sense — false teachers are condemned for lacking true transforming power, not for lacking a shaman’s demonstrable 영력. Korean audiences must not read this as an invitation to seek more visible spiritual power, which would ironically reproduce the very 기복신앙/영력-seeking pattern the passage condemns. Compounded by γόης (3:13), whose literal Greek root means ‘sorcerer/enchanter,’ creating a genuine etymological echo with mudang/magician vocabulary; rendering must use only general-deceiver language (속이는 자) and never 무당 or 술사. Also compounded by μῦθος (4:4, ‘myths’), which must never be worded to single out Korea’s own founding-myth material (Dangun/Hwanung) as a direct referent, and by 말세/고통하는 때 needing separation from Korean folk-millenarian doomsday date-setting traditions (e.g., 개벽).
Assurance of Reward
Korean name: 상급의 확신
Key terms: crown_of_righteousness, the_righteous_judge, we_will_reign, compete_as_athlete, fought_the_good_fight
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL: 의의 면류관 (‘crown of righteousness,’ 4:8) carries double risk. First, it inherits the baseline’s 의/의리 collision: the crown must be understood as flowing from grace-given righteousness and persevering faith, not earned through relational loyalty-display (의리) analogous to social loyalty-honor codes. Second, 면류관 (‘crown’) risks feeding into Korea’s intensely achievement-and-status-conscious culture (cf. baseline’s 출세/명예 cautions), reframing an eschatological, grace-grounded reward as this-worldly social prestige or career success. Must be taught explicitly as Christ’s future, gracious award for persevering faith, never a merit badge for religious achievement.
Grace
Korean name: 은혜
Key terms: grace, election, providence
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL (inherited from baseline): 1:9’s ‘not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace’ is a key grace-versus-works contrast passage requiring the same vigilance as Romans 4:4-5 and 11:5-6. The brief closing benediction (4:22, ‘grace be with you’) is especially vulnerable to a formulaic reading that drains it of its unearned, non-transactional force, risking assimilation to the 기복신앙 exchange pattern if taught carelessly as a ritual farewell blessing.
Salvation
Korean name: 구원
Key terms: salvation, savior, faith
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL (inherited from baseline): 3:15’s ‘wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus’ must never be rendered or taught as 해탈 or escape from an impersonal suffering-cycle; 구주 (Savior, 1:10) must never be conflated with a folk-religious deliverer-figure such as 미륵 (Maitreya), a risk elevated in this book’s already-heightened last-days/eschatological framing (ch. 3-4).
Lordship and Future Judgeship of Christ
Korean name: 그리스도의 주되심과 심판주 되심
Key terms: lord, judge_living_and_dead, the_righteous_judge, appearing_of_christ, resurrection
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL (inherited from baseline’s lordship_of_christ): 주님 must retain exclusive, supreme Lordship throughout, correctly marked with the honorific 님 suffix, never reducible to an employer/owner title. In this book Christ’s Lordship is uniquely combined with his role as the coming universal Judge (4:1, 4:8) and as the risen ‘offspring of David’ (2:8) — the personal, singular identity of this Lord-Judge-Risen-One must not be diffused into an impersonal karmic reckoning process or a generic ancestral/legendary heavenly figure.
Holy Spirit’s Empowerment for Ministry
Korean name: 사역을 위한 성령의 능력 주심
Key terms: holy_spirit, power_of_god, spiritual_gifts, sound_mind_self_control, laying_on_of_hands
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL (inherited from baseline’s power_of_god and holy_spirit): 1:7’s ‘spirit of power and love and sound mind’ and 1:14’s Spirit who ‘dwells within us’ to guard sound doctrine must both be taught as the personal, third Person of the Trinity granting inward boldness and self-mastery for ministry — explicitly NOT a shaman’s spirit-power (영력) or a spirit-possession experience during a gut ritual. 안수함 (laying on of hands, 1:6) must not be read as a ritual transfer of impersonal spiritual force.
High Risk Doctrines
Perseverance under Suffering
Korean name: 고난 중의 인내
Key terms: endure_hardship, share_in_suffering, good_soldier, persecutions_sufferings, universal_persecution_principle, do_not_be_ashamed
Review routing: Human theologian
Suffering must be taught as normal and necessary for gospel ministry, never as a sign of God’s disfavor or of insufficient blessing — this directly guards against a 기복신앙-style expectation that faithful ministry and true 은혜 should produce visible comfort or material prosperity. The universal claim of 3:12 (‘all who desire to live godly… will be persecuted’) must retain its unqualified ‘all,’ paralleling the baseline’s caution on preserving universality claims elsewhere in the pipeline (Romans 3:23, 10:12-13).
Faithful Transmission of the Gospel
Korean name: 복음의 신실한 전수
Key terms: faithful_men, forefathers_ancestors, unfeigned_faith, entrusted_deposit
Review routing: Human theologian
2:2’s multi-generational transmission chain (Paul → Timothy → faithful people → others also) must not be lost or flattened. 1:3’s ‘forefathers’ (조상) creates a direct collision risk with Korean ancestor-memorial rites (제사, jesa) and Confucian ancestor veneration; must be explicitly taught as continuity of worshipping the same God across generations, never as validating ancestor-rite devotion itself — a distinction the baseline’s ‘father’ entry already flags as historically the sharpest doctrinal collision point in Korean church history.
Divine Calling and Gifting for Ministry
Korean name: 사역을 위한 하나님의 부르심과 은사 주심
Key terms: called, calling, holy, spiritual_gifts, the_will_of_god, election, providence
Review routing: Human theologian
1:9’s calling ‘according to his own purpose and grace… not because of our works’ must remain a personal, relational summons and must never echo saju-paljja birth-chart fate (사주팔자) or 팔자에 정해진 language, per the baseline’s calling/providence cautions. 은사 (spiritual gift, 1:6) must not be framed as a shaman’s spirit-power (영력) transmitted through the physical act of 안수.
Faith
Korean name: 믿음
Key terms: faith, unfeigned_faith, kept_the_faith, disqualified_regarding_faith
Review routing: Human theologian
Personal trust in Christ specifically (Lois/Eunice’s sincere faith, 1:5; ‘faith in Christ Jesus,’ 3:15), never generic belief (미신) or confidence placed in fortune-telling/astrology (사주팔자) still practiced in Korean folk life. 4:7’s ‘I have kept the faith’ must retain both the personal-trust sense and the guarding sense shared with παραθήκη vocabulary.
Sanctification and Ministry Usefulness
Korean name: 성화와 사역의 유용함
Key terms: sanctification, vessels_of_honor_and_dishonor, righteousness
Review routing: Human theologian
Believers’ self-purification for useful service (2:20-22) must be distinguished from ascetic self-cultivation (수행, 도 닦기) drawn from Korean Buddhist/folk-religious practice; this is Spirit-produced fitness for the Lord’s use. ‘Training in righteousness’ (3:16) must carry the baseline’s 의/의리 distinguishing flag even in this sanctification (not strictly forensic-justification) context.
Repentance and Deliverance from the Devil’s Snare
Korean name: 회개와 마귀의 올무에서의 구출
Key terms: repentance, snare_of_the_devil, the_lords_servant, gentleness
Review routing: Human theologian
회개 (repentance, 2:25) must be taught as God-granted, never as self-achieved moral effort or ritual atonement — this excludes conflation with Confucian/Buddhist self-cultivation (수양) or a ritual-penance-flavored 참회. The devil (마귀, 2:26) must be understood as a single personal malevolent being, not one impersonal evil-spirit force among many in a Korean folk-spiritual pantheon.
Resurrection of Christ (and its Distortion)
Korean name: 그리스도의 부활 (그리고 그것의 왜곡)
Key terms: resurrection, overturn_faith, spread_like_gangrene
Review routing: Human theologian
2:18’s false teaching that ‘the resurrection has already happened’ (Hymenaeus and Philetus) means this term appears specifically in a false-teaching context in this book, heightening the need for doctrinal precision: 부활 must never be explained in a way confusable with 환생 (rebirth) or 윤회 (the reincarnation cycle), and the false teachers’ error must be clearly marked as a distortion of the one bodily resurrection rather than a legitimately debatable spiritualized alternative.
Universal Scope of Persecution for Godliness
Korean name: 경건하게 살고자 하는 모든 자에게 임하는 박해의 보편성
Key terms: universal_persecution_principle, godliness, perilous_times
Review routing: Human theologian
This is a distinct universality claim from the perseverance doctrine generally: it asserts that ALL who desire to live godly WILL be persecuted, with no exceptions. Must resist any translation or teaching that softens this into a probabilistic or optional expectation, paralleling the baseline’s insistence on preserving ‘all have sinned’ / ‘everyone who calls’ universality claims in Romans without qualification.
Medium Risk Doctrines
Davidic Covenant Fulfillment in Christ
Korean name: 그리스도 안에서 성취된 다윗 언약
Key terms: david, resurrection, messiah
Review routing: Native speaker review
‘Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David’ requires OT covenant background; Korean already cleanly distinguishes 언약 (covenant) from 계약 (contract), a genuine strength inherited from the baseline that lowers this doctrine’s collision risk relative to some other languages.
Sacrificial Self-Offering in Ministry
Korean name: 사역에서의 희생적 자기 드림
Key terms: drink_offering, fought_the_good_fight, strengthened_by_the_lord, rescued
Review routing: Native speaker review
Paul’s framing of his death as a 전제 (drink offering) must retain reference specifically to OT/Levitical sacrificial worship of God and not be confused with Confucian ancestral-rite libation vocabulary (also sometimes called 전제/제사 in Korean folk usage). 강하게 하셨다 (strengthened) and 건지시다 (rescued) must retain personal, relational framing (‘the Lord stood by me’), not impersonal-force language.
Low Risk Doctrines
Thanksgiving and Intercession
Korean name: 감사와 중보기도
Key terms: thanksgiving, intercession
Review routing: Automated review
Standard, low-collision terms; minor risk of generic secular gratitude/mediation reading without reference to God specifically, and of confusing intercessory prayer with a mudang’s ritual mediation between the living and spirits, per baseline’s caution.
