This glossary consolidates every load-bearing theological term identified in 07_semantic_analysis.md, across the whole book of Deuteronomy (chapters 1–34), with the core passage (6:1–9) terms listed first. Terms already present in the baseline Romans Language Package (translation_memory.json / bible_term_registry.json) are marked [BASELINE REUSE] and their recorded German rendering is repeated here unchanged, per the mandate that established renderings must be reused exactly. New terms proposed for this curriculum are marked [NEW] and are candidates for addition to translation_memory.json in Phase 2.
Risk tiers follow the baseline’s exact definitions: Critical (theologian review mandatory, every occurrence) / High (theologian review mandatory) / Medium (native speaker review recommended) / Low (automated review sufficient).

A translator note distinguishing the two underlying Hebrew words is MANDATORY on first occurrence in every teaching unit, since German readers cannot otherwise recover that YHWH is a proper name, not a title. Never substitute ‘Jehova’ — that rendering is specific to and disqualified by the Jehovah’s Witness Neue-Welt-Übersetzung tradition.

Modern German ‘lieben’ is heavily saturated with romantic/emotional connotation (Liebesfilm, Liebeslied culture); every load-bearing occurrence requires an explicit teaching gloss (not a lexical substitute — none exists) stating the covenant-loyalty sense. German ‘Bann’ is DISQUALIFIED outright due to its unrelated ecclesiastical-historical and idiomatic senses. The rendering ‘dem Untergang weihen’ must be paired every time with mandatory historical-boundedness framing — a once-for-all judicial act, never a transferable license for religious violence — of the same severity as the baseline’s his_blood_be_on_us caution. Highest-severity item in this curriculum’s linguistic gap analysis.
