This glossary consolidates every load-bearing term identified in 07_semantic_analysis.md, drawing from every chapter of Joshua (1–24). Terms already fixed by the baseline Romans translation_memory.json are marked [BASELINE REUSE] and MUST be rendered exactly as recorded there; this document does not alter those entries but documents how their established sense interacts with Joshua’s new narrative context. New terms are proposed for addition to translation memory at the risk tier indicated, pending Phase 1 Step 2+ ratification.

Triple German-specific collision: (1) ‘der Bann’ is simultaneously ecclesiastical excommunication (Kirchenbann) AND the historical name for a Hitlerjugend organizational-district unit; (2) ‘vernichten/ausrotten’ unavoidably evokes Holocaust-era vocabulary (Vernichtungslager); (3) euphemistic softening (a bare ‘weihen’) would falsify the text.
