Doctrine Analysis
11 Doctrine Analysis — Revelation
Full-Book Doctrine Matrix | English → Burmese
This document executes PRD Phase 1 Step 4/5 doctrine analysis for the Revelation curriculum. It is fully consistent with assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json — same 26 doctrines, same risk tiers, same review routing. It adds (a) supporting passages drawn from across the whole book, (b) chapter-by-chapter coverage confirming no chapter is silently skipped, and (c) translation-risk notes specific to Burmese Theravada Buddhist religious culture, extending the collision analysis begun in 08_core_glossary.md.
The core passage, Revelation 21:1-8, is the theological anchor of this curriculum (New Heaven and New Earth; Grace and the Free Gift of Life; Judgment of the Wicked; Adoption and Inheritance all converge there) but every chapter 1–22 is analyzed below.
Part 1 — Full Doctrine Matrix (26 Doctrines)
| # | Doctrine | Burmese Doctrine Name | Risk | Key Passages | Translation Risk Notes | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Return and Reign of Christ | ခရစ်တော်၏ ပြန်လာခြင်းနှင့် စံနန်းစံခြင်း | Critical | 1:7; 19:11-16; 20:4-6; 22:20 | Must not merge with Theravada expectation of Metteyya (မိတ္တေယျ), the future Buddha who restores the Dharma. Revelation’s King is the same Jesus who already died and rose — a returning divine person, not a new teacher completing an unfinished dispensation. | Human theologian |
| 2 | The Sovereignty of God over History | သမိုင်းအပေါ် ဘုရားသခင်၏ အချုပ်အခြာအာဏာ | High | 1:8; 4:8-11; 5:1-14; 6:1-8:5; 11:17; 15:1-8; 16:1-21; 19:6 | The sequential seal/trumpet/bowl judgments are personal divine decrees, not ကံ (impersonal karmic cause-and-effect) unfolding automatically. A personal, enthroned, speaking God directs each event. | Human theologian |
| 3 | Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution | ညှဉ်းပန်းနှိပ်စက်ခြင်းအောက်တွင် ခံနိုင်ရည်ရှိစွာ သက်သေခံခြင်း | High | 1:9; 2:2-3,10,13,19; 3:10; 6:9-11; 11:3-13; 12:11; 13:10; 14:12 | Endurance/overcoming is Lamb-secured, not self-cultivated khanti (patience-virtue) or self-mastery over kilesa (defilements). ဒုက္ခ (dukkha) risks collapsing Christ-specific persecution into universal existential suffering solved by personal discipline rather than divine deliverance. | Human theologian |
| 4 | Judgment of the Wicked | မကောင်းမှုကျင့်သူတို့အား တရားစီရင်ခြင်း | Critical | 6:15-17; 9:20-21; 13:1-18; 14:9-11; 16:5-7; 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8 | မီးအိုင်/ဒုတိယသေခြင်း (lake of fire/second death) must never be conflated with ငရဲ, one of 31 samsaric rebirth-destinations that is temporary and escapable through future merit. This is a final, non-cyclical, unappealable verdict. | Human theologian |
| 5 | Vindication of the Saints | သန့်ရှင်းသူများအား တရားမျှတမှုပေးခြင်း | High | 6:9-11; 7:9-17; 12:10-11; 20:12 | Requires teaching genuine, personal, conscious existence between death and resurrection — direct collision with anatta (no-permanent-self), which denies continuing personal identity after death. | Human theologian |
| 6 | The New Heaven and New Earth | ကောင်းကင်သစ်နှင့် မြေကြီးသစ် | Critical | 21:1-8 (core); 21:9-27; 22:1-5 | အသစ် (new) collides with cyclical kappa world-ages (destroyed/re-formed endlessly); must convey a qualitatively new, permanent, non-repeating creation, God’s final unrepeatable act, not “the next cycle.” | Human theologian |
| 7 | The Church as Bride of Christ | ခရစ်တော်၏ သတို့သမီးအဖြစ် အသင်းတော် | High | 19:6-9; 21:2,9-10; 22:17 (contrast: 17:1-18; 19:2 harlot) | Corporate bridal identity contrasted with the counterfeit harlot; must not individualize into ordinary Burmese arranged-marriage custom devoid of covenant theology. Wedding garments = granted righteousness, not self-woven merit. | Human theologian |
| 8 | Worship of the Lamb | သိုးသငယ်တော်အား ကိုးကွယ်ခြင်း | Critical | 4:8-11; 5:6-14; 7:9-12; 14:1-5; 15:2-4; 19:1-8; 22:3 | ကိုးကွယ်ခြင်း is the same generic verb used for Buddha-image veneration, nat-propitiation, ancestor rites. Every occurrence must be explicitly anchored to its exclusive object (God and the Lamb only — never angels, 19:10; 22:8-9). | Human theologian |
| 9 | Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation | တင်စားချက်နှင့် ဗျာဒိတ်ရိပ်ခြင်း အနက်အဓိပ္ပာယ်ဖွင့်ခြင်း | High | 1:1,20; 6:1-8; 10:1-11; 13:18; 17:7-18; 20:1-6 | ဗျာဒိတ်တော် (the book’s own genre-title) is phonetically/conceptually close to ဗေဒင် (astrology/fortune-telling). Symbolic numbers (666; 144,000; 1,000 years) risk speculative numerology rather than divinely-disclosed pattern. | Human theologian |
| 10 | Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil | မကောင်းမှုအပေါ် ဘုရားသခင်၏ နောက်ဆုံးအောင်ပွဲ သေချာမှု | Critical | 12:7-11; 20:1-3,7-10; 22:20 | Satan’s defeat must not be read through Māra (a tempter the Buddha overcame by his own unaided enlightenment) or the ambivalent/benevolent naga tradition. Victory is secured by the Lamb’s blood and God’s judgment, never human self-effort. | Human theologian |
| 11 | Deity and Sonship of Christ | ခရစ်တော်၏ ဘုရားဇာတိနှင့် သားတော်ဇာတိ | Critical | 1:13-18; 2:18; 5:6-14; 19:11-16; 22:1,3 | The shared throne of “God and the Lamb” (22:1,3) and worship of the Lamb equal to the Father (5:13-14) must not soften into a merely exalted created being elevated to a Brahma-realm deity through accumulated merit. | Human theologian |
| 12 | Lordship of Christ | ခရစ်တော်၏ အရှင်သခင်ဇာတိ | Critical | 17:14; 19:16; 22:20 | ဘုရင်တို့၏ဘုရင်၊ အရှင်တို့၏အရှင် — here ဘုရင် (earthly king) is legitimately used as a subordinated title under Christ’s unique lordship, an exception to the Romans-baseline caution against ဘုရင် for “Lord”; must be taught with care to avoid conflating Christ with an earthly sovereign. | Human theologian |
| 13 | Atonement by the Blood of the Lamb | သိုးသငယ်တော်၏ အသွေးတော်ဖြင့် အပြစ်ဖြေခြင်း | Critical | 1:5; 5:9; 7:14; 12:11 | Distinct from ritual blood-offerings to nats/spirits and from merit-transfer rites; accomplishes objective redemption, not a transaction generating religious merit for the offerer. | Human theologian |
| 14 | Idolatry and False Worship | ရုပ်တုကိုးကွယ်ခြင်းနှင့် အယူမှားကိုးကွယ်မှု | Critical | 9:20; 13:4-15; 14:9-11; 21:8; 22:8-9,15 | Single most sensitive collision point in the curriculum given Buddha-image veneration’s centrality. Must be taught strictly in its historical-apocalyptic emperor/beast-cult context (compelled worship under threat of death), never as a blanket condemnation of Burmese devotional practice. Mandatory theologian sign-off. | Human theologian |
| 15 | Cosmic Conflict with Satan | စာတန်နှင့် စကြဝဠာအတွင်း တိုက်ပွဲ | Critical | 12:1-17; 13:1-4; 20:1-10 | Two converging risks: (1) နဂါး (dragon/naga) is a benevolent guardian figure in Burmese cosmology, opposite of Revelation’s malevolent, defeated dragon; (2) မာရ်နတ် borrows Māra’s name, a temporary obstacle self-overcome, versus a real rebel defeated only by the Lamb’s blood. | Human theologian |
| 16 | Intermediate State and Hades | မရဏာနိုင်ငံနှင့် အလယ်အလတ်အခြေအနေ | High | 1:18; 6:8-11; 20:13-14 | Conscious personal existence between death and resurrection, and Christ’s exclusive authority over Hades, must not be rendered ငရဲ nor read as a way-station toward bodily rebirth; Hades is temporary and itself finally abolished (20:14). | Human theologian |
| 17 | Millennial Reign Interpretation | အနှစ်တစ်ထောင် စံနန်းစံခြင်း၏ အနက်အဓိပ္ပာယ် | Medium | 20:1-6 | Legitimate interpretive diversity (pre-/a-/postmillennial) among faithful interpreters; avoid imposing a single view as the only orthodox reading while preserving certainty of Christ’s own reign. | Native speaker review |
| 18 | Election and Effectual Calling | ရွေးကောက်ခြင်းနှင့် ခေါ်တော်မူခြင်း | High | 17:14 | God’s sovereign call, bound to persevering faithfulness in the final conflict, must not be read as ကံဇာတာ (karma-fixed destiny from accumulated past-life action). | Human theologian |
| 19 | Sanctification and Holiness | သန့်ရှင်းခြင်းနှင့် သန့်ရှင်းမှု | High | 4:8; 20:6; 22:11 | God’s own triune holiness and derived holiness of his people = moral and relational set-apartness, not ritual purity from pagoda-related devotional acts. | Human theologian |
| 20 | Prayer and Intercession of the Saints | သန့်ရှင်းသူများ၏ ဆုတောင်းခြင်းနှင့် အသနားခံခြင်း | Medium | 5:8; 8:3-4 | Prayers received directly by God at his heavenly altar; not ritual merit-generating incense-offering at a pagoda, nor petition mediated through the 37 nats. | Native speaker review |
| 21 | Inspiration and Authority of Prophecy | ပရောဖက်ပြုချက်၏ လှုံ့ဆော်မှုနှင့် အာဏာ | High | 1:1-3; 10:1-11; 19:10; 22:6-10,18-19 | God-given, closed, authoritative disclosure, sealed against addition/subtraction (22:18-19); distinguish from ဗေဒင် (astrological forecasting) and from an open corpus subject to later human supplementation. | Human theologian |
| 22 | Universal Scope of Redemption | ကယ်တင်ခြင်း၏ လူတိုင်းအတွက်ဖြစ်ခြင်း | High | 5:9; 7:9; 14:6; 21:24-26 | Redeemed multitude drawn from every nation/tribe/people/language without ethnic limit; must resist nationalist readings privileging Buddhist-Burman ethnic-religious identity over minority peoples. | Human theologian |
| 23 | Adoption and Inheritance | သားအဖြစ်လက်ခံခြင်းနှင့် အမွေခံခြင်း | Medium | 21:7; 22:5 | Overcomer’s full, permanent inheritance-sonship is granted status, not a probationary reward or self-accumulated merit-ledger determining final destiny; builds on Romans-baseline adoption doctrine. | Native speaker review |
| 24 | Thanksgiving and Praise | ကျေးဇူးတင်ခြင်းနှင့် ချီးမွမ်းခြင်း | Low | 4:9-11; 5:12-13; 19:1-6 | Standard worship vocabulary; minor risk of collapsing into ritual merit-dedication (ကုသိုလ်ရှေးရေး) language, but overall low doctrinal risk. | Automated review |
| 25 | Gospel Proclamation to All Nations | လူမျိုးအပေါင်းတို့အား သတင်းကောင်းဟောပြောခြင်း | High | 14:6-7 | Eternal, unchanging announcement to every nation; must not be reframed through သာသနာပြု’s Buddhist-institutional flavor (propagating Sasana) — proclamation of a finished redemptive act, not institution-building. | Human theologian |
| 26 | Grace and the Free Gift of Life | ကျေးဇူးတော်နှင့် အသက်ရေကို အခမဲ့ပေးခြင်း | Critical | 21:6; 22:17 | Directly reinforces Romans-baseline grace-vs-merit distinction; must never suggest the water of life is obtained through ကုသိုလ် or the ritual water-pouring merit-transfer practice (ရေသွန်ချ). | Human theologian |
Risk Summary (matches doctrine_risk_registry.json): Critical = 11, High = 11, Medium = 3, Low = 1. Total requiring theologian review = 22; native speaker review = 3; automated only = 1.
Part 2 — Chapter-by-Chapter Coverage (Revelation 1–22)
Every chapter is reviewed below. Chapters with no new doctrinal load are explicitly marked “reviewed — no new doctrine” and note which existing doctrine they merely reinforce.
| Ch. | Doctrines Present | Coverage Note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Return and Reign of Christ (1:7); Sovereignty of God (1:8, “Alpha and Omega”); Deity and Sonship of Christ (1:13-18); Atonement by the Blood of the Lamb (1:5); Intermediate State and Hades (1:18, keys of death and Hades); Perseverance (1:9); Inspiration and Authority of Prophecy (1:1-3) | Foundational chapter; doctrinal density is high. Christ’s self-revelation sets the Christological baseline for the whole book. |
| 2-3 (Seven Letters) | Perseverance and Faithful Witness (2:2-3,10,13,19; 3:10); Election and Calling (implicit “called,” “chosen,” “faithful” pattern later stated explicitly at 17:14); Sanctification and Holiness (implicit “holy” refrains); Inspiration and Authority of Prophecy (“what the Spirit says to the churches”) | Each of the seven letters repeats the “overcomer” (B25) and “tree of life” (B29, 2:7) motifs; reviewed together as a literary unit. No doctrine introduced here is absent from the matrix above. |
| 4 | Sovereignty of God over History (4:8-11); Worship of the Lamb (anticipated via worship of God on the throne, 4:8-11); Sanctification and Holiness (“Holy, Holy, Holy,” 4:8) | Establishes the heavenly throne-room worship pattern completed in ch.5. |
| 5 | Worship of the Lamb (5:6-14); Deity and Sonship of Christ (5:6-14, shared worship with the Father); Sovereignty of God over History (the sealed scroll); Atonement by the Blood of the Lamb (5:9) | The doctrinal hinge of the book: the Lamb is found “worthy” and receives worship co-equal with God. |
| 6 | Vindication of the Saints (6:9-11, souls under the altar); Intermediate State and Hades (6:8-11); Sovereignty of God over History (four horsemen); Judgment of the Wicked (6:15-17, implicit onset) | Introduces the seal judgments and the martyrs’ cry “how long?“ |
| 7 | Vindication of the Saints (7:9-17); Universal Scope of Redemption (7:9, every nation/tribe/people/language); Worship of the Lamb (7:9-12) | 144,000 and the great multitude both affirm unqualified redemptive scope. |
| 8 | Sovereignty of God over History (trumpet judgments begin); Prayer and Intercession of the Saints (8:3-4) | Reviewed — reinforces existing doctrines; no new doctrine introduced. |
| 9 | Idolatry and False Worship (9:20-21); Judgment of the Wicked (implicit, trumpet judgments intensify); Cosmic Conflict with Satan (Abyss, Apollyon) | Reviewed — reinforces existing doctrines; introduces the Abyss (B46) as a symbolic term but no new top-level doctrine. |
| 10 | Inspiration and Authority of Prophecy (the little scroll); Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation | Reviewed — reinforces prophetic-authority doctrine; transitional chapter. |
| 11 | Perseverance and Faithful Witness (11:3-13, the two witnesses); Sovereignty of God over History (11:17); Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation (temple-measuring imagery) | The two witnesses’ martyrdom-then-vindication is the paradigm case for Doctrine 3 and 5 together. |
| 12 | Cosmic Conflict with Satan (12:1-17); Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil (12:7-11); Perseverance and Faithful Witness (12:11) | The single highest-density chapter for syncretism risk (dragon/naga; Satan/Māra) — see Part 1 rows 10, 15. |
| 13 | Idolatry and False Worship (13:4-15); Cosmic Conflict with Satan (the beast as dragon’s agent); Judgment of the Wicked (mark of the beast); Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation (13:18, number of the beast) | Requires mandatory theologian sign-off per Doctrine 14. |
| 14 | Gospel Proclamation to All Nations (14:6-7); Judgment of the Wicked (14:9-11); Worship of the Lamb (14:1-5, song before the throne); Universal Scope of Redemption (144,000 redeemed) | The “eternal gospel” (14:6) is the book’s clearest positive missionary statement, set directly beside its starkest judgment warning (14:9-11) — the two must not be allowed to blur into each other in translation. |
| 15 | Sovereignty of God over History (bowl judgments prepared); Worship of the Lamb (Song of Moses and of the Lamb) | Reviewed — reinforces existing doctrines; no new doctrine introduced. |
| 16 | Sovereignty of God over History (bowl judgments); Judgment of the Wicked (16:5-7, righteous judgments affirmed); Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation (Armageddon) | Reviewed — reinforces existing doctrines. |
| 17 | Election and Effectual Calling (17:14); Judgment of the Wicked (Babylon the harlot judged); Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation (17:7-18, “mystery”); Lordship of Christ (17:14, King of kings); Church as Bride of Christ (harlot as the deliberate negative foil) | Densely symbolic chapter requiring the mystery/interpretation doctrine’s careful handling. |
| 18 | Judgment of the Wicked (fall of Babylon); Sovereignty of God over History | Reviewed — reinforces existing doctrines; no new doctrine introduced. |
| 19 | Return and Reign of Christ (19:11-16); Lordship of Christ (19:16); Church as Bride of Christ (19:6-9, marriage supper); Worship of the Lamb (19:1-8); Judgment of the Wicked (19:20); Thanksgiving and Praise (19:1-6) | Second-highest doctrinal density chapter; the Rider on the White Horse must be taught as distinct from the unrelated first-seal white horse of ch.6 (see glossary B80). |
| 20 | Judgment of the Wicked (20:11-15, great white throne); Millennial Reign Interpretation (20:1-6); Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil (20:1-3,7-10); Intermediate State and Hades (20:13-14, Hades itself abolished); Vindication of the Saints (20:12, book of life) | Requires the interpretive-diversity note on the millennium (Doctrine 17) alongside the Critical judgment doctrine. |
| 21 | New Heaven and New Earth (21:1-8, core passage; 21:9-27); Church as Bride of Christ (21:2, 9-10); Grace and the Free Gift of Life (21:6); Judgment of the Wicked (21:8); Universal Scope of Redemption (21:24-26); Adoption and Inheritance (21:7) | Theological anchor of the curriculum. All Critical-tier doctrines converge here; every occurrence in this chapter requires human theologian review without exception. |
| 22 | New Heaven and New Earth (22:1-5); Grace and the Free Gift of Life (22:17); Church as Bride of Christ (22:17); Inspiration and Authority of Prophecy (22:6-10, 18-19); Return and Reign of Christ (22:20); Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil (22:20); Adoption and Inheritance (22:5) | Closing chapter recapitulates nearly every Critical-tier doctrine; the book’s own self-sealing statement (22:18-19) governs how all translation additions/paraphrase must be restricted. |
Coverage confirmation: All 22 chapters of Revelation have been reviewed. No chapter was silently omitted; chapters 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, and 18 are explicitly noted as reinforcing existing doctrine rather than introducing new doctrinal categories.
Part 3 — Notes for Phase 2 Routing
- 22 doctrines route to mandatory human theologian review (all Critical + all High tier). Given Revelation’s density, this is a substantially higher proportion of theologian-routed doctrine than the Romans baseline (25 of 46 doctrine/term entries there vs. 22 of 26 doctrines here) — Phase 2 scheduling should budget accordingly.
- Chapters 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 21, and 22 carry the highest concentration of Critical-tier doctrine and should be prioritized first for theologian availability in Phase 2 Step 17.
- Doctrine 14 (Idolatry and False Worship) and Doctrine 8 (Worship of the Lamb) must never be reviewed independently of one another — the same verb (ကိုးကွယ်ခြင်း) carries the entire positive/negative theological weight of the book and both doctrines must be checked together in every occurrence.
This document extends and is fully consistent with assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json (Revelation) and does not contradict the Romans baseline doctrine_risk_registry.json. Load alongside 08_core_glossary.md before Phase 2 processing.
Critical Risk Doctrines
Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil
Burmese name: မကောင်းမှုအပေါ် ဘုရားသခင်၏ နောက်ဆုံးအောင်ပွဲ သေချာမှု
Key terms: dragon, satan, accuser, seal_of_god, come_lord_jesus
Review routing: Human theologian
Satan’s certain, final, God-secured defeat must not be read through the lens of Māra (a tempter the Buddha overcame through his own unaided enlightenment) or through the ambivalent/benevolent naga-guardian tradition; biblical victory over evil is secured by the Lamb’s blood and God’s own judgment, never by human self-effort.
Atonement by the Blood of the Lamb
Burmese name: သိုးသငယ်တော်၏ အသွေးတော်ဖြင့် အပြစ်ဖြေခြင်း
Key terms: blood_of_christ, slain, lamb
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s substitutionary, atoning sacrifice (အသွေးတော်) must be distinguished from ritual blood-offerings made to nats or spirits in Burmese folk religion, and from any notion of merit-transfer through ritual action; the blood accomplishes objective redemption, not a transaction that generates religious merit for the offerer.
Cosmic Conflict with Satan
Burmese name: စာတန်နှင့် စကြဝဠာအတွင်း တိုက်ပွဲ
Key terms: dragon, satan, accuser, apollyon
Review routing: Human theologian
Two severe syncretism risks converge here: (1) နဂါး (dragon/naga) is a benevolent guardian-serpent figure in Burmese Buddhist cosmology, the opposite of Revelation’s wholly malevolent, defeated dragon; (2) မာရ်နတ် borrows the name of Māra, a temporary obstruction the Buddha overcame by his own unaided attainment, whereas biblical Satan is a real personal rebel defeated only by the Lamb’s blood and God’s judgment.
Deity and Sonship of Christ
Burmese name: ခရစ်တော်၏ ဘုရားဇာတိနှင့် သားတော်ဇာတိ
Key terms: lamb, son_of_man, word_of_god, king_of_kings_lord_of_lords, son_of_god
Review routing: Human theologian
The single shared throne of ‘God and the Lamb’ (22:1,3) and the extension of worship to the Lamb equal to God the Father (5:13-14) are the book’s most explicit assertions of Christ’s co-equal deity; must not be softened to a merely exalted created being, echoing the idea of an enlightened figure elevated to a Brahma-realm deity through accumulated merit.
Grace and the Free Gift of Life
Burmese name: ကျေးဇူးတော်နှင့် အသက်ရေကို အခမဲ့ပေးခြင်း
Key terms: grace, freely_gift, river_of_water_of_life
Review routing: Human theologian
Eternal life given freely (δωρεάν) directly reinforces the Romans baseline’s central grace-vs-merit distinction; it must never suggest that the water of life is obtained through ကုသိုလ် (merit accumulation) or through the ritual water-pouring merit-transfer practice (ရေသွန်ချ) common in Burmese Buddhist devotional life.
Idolatry and False Worship
Burmese name: ရုပ်တုကိုးကွယ်ခြင်းနှင့် အယူမှားကိုးကွယ်မှု
Key terms: idolater, image_of_the_beast, worship
Review routing: Human theologian
This is the single most sensitive collision point in the entire curriculum, given the centrality of Buddha-image veneration in Burmese religious life. It must be taught strictly in its specific historical-apocalyptic emperor/beast-cult context — worship compelled under threat of death toward a political power’s image — and never delivered as an undifferentiated blanket condemnation of Burmese cultural or devotional practice. Mandatory theologian sign-off before any Phase 2 publication involving this doctrine.
Judgment of the Wicked
Burmese name: မကောင်းမှုကျင့်သူတို့အား တရားစီရင်ခြင်း
Key terms: lake_of_fire, second_death, great_white_throne, judgment, beast, mark_of_the_beast, idolater, sorcerer, blasphemy
Review routing: Human theologian
Final, eternal, conscious judgment (မီးအိုင်, ဒုတိယသေခြင်း) must never be conflated with ငရဲ, the Buddhist hell-realm — one of 31 samsaric rebirth-destinations that is temporary and escapable through accumulated merit across future lives. Revelation’s judgment is a one-time, non-cyclical, unappealable verdict.
Lordship of Christ
Burmese name: ခရစ်တော်၏ အရှင်သခင်ဇာတိ
Key terms: lord, king_of_kings_lord_of_lords
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s exclusive supreme lordship over all earthly kings requires the compound ဘုရင်တို့၏ဘုရင်၊ အရှင်တို့၏အရှင် to be taught carefully so that ဘုရင် (earthly king), normally rejected in the baseline as an insufficient rendering of ‘Lord,’ is understood here as subordinated under, not equated with, Christ’s unique lordship.
The New Heaven and New Earth
Burmese name: ကောင်းကင်သစ်နှင့် မြေကြီးသစ်
Key terms: new_creation, new_jerusalem, tree_of_life, curse, river_of_water_of_life, tabernacle_dwell
Review routing: Human theologian
A qualitatively new, permanent, non-repeating creation directly collides with Burmese Buddhist cosmology’s cyclical kappa world-ages, which are destroyed and re-formed endlessly across incalculable eons; အသစ် alone risks being read as merely ‘the next cycle’ rather than God’s final, unrepeatable act.
The Return and Reign of Christ
Burmese name: ခရစ်တော်၏ ပြန်လာခြင်းနှင့် စံနန်းစံခြင်း
Key terms: lord, king_of_kings_lord_of_lords, son_of_man, rider_on_white_horse, millennium, reign_eternal
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s visible, historical, bodily return and reign must not be reduced to a symbolic influence or merged with the Theravada expectation of Metteyya, the future Buddha who is expected to arise and restore the Dharma in a coming world-age. Revelation’s returning King is the same Jesus who already died and rose, not a new enlightened teacher completing an unfinished dispensation.
Worship of the Lamb
Burmese name: သိုးသငယ်တော်အား ကိုးကွယ်ခြင်း
Key terms: lamb, worship, living_creatures, elders, worthy, slain, serve_worship_cultic
Review routing: Human theologian
Exclusive worship extended to Christ the slain Lamb, co-equal with God the Father, uses ကိုးကွယ်ခြင်း, the same generic verb applied to Buddha-image veneration, nat-propitiation, and ancestor veneration throughout Burmese religious life. Every occurrence must be anchored explicitly to its exclusive divine object (God and the Lamb only, never angels).
High Risk Doctrines
The Church as Bride of Christ
Burmese name: ခရစ်တော်၏ သတို့သမီးအဖြစ် အသင်းတော်
Key terms: bride, marriage_supper_of_the_lamb, prostitute_harlot
Review routing: Human theologian
The corporate bridal identity of the redeemed community, deliberately contrasted with the false counterfeit ‘bride’ (Babylon the harlot), must not be individualized nor collapsed into ordinary Burmese arranged-marriage custom devoid of covenant theology; the wedding garments must be taught as a granted righteousness, not self-woven merit.
Election and Effectual Calling
Burmese name: ရွေးကောက်ခြင်းနှင့် ခေါ်တော်မူခြင်း
Key terms: called, election
Review routing: Human theologian
God’s sovereign call and choice, inseparably bound to persevering faithfulness in the final conflict, must not be read as ကံဇာတာ (karma-fixed destiny determined by accumulated past-life action).
Gospel Proclamation to All Nations
Burmese name: လူမျိုးအပေါင်းတို့အား သတင်းကောင်းဟောပြောခြင်း
Key terms: eternal_gospel, testimony_witness
Review routing: Human theologian
The gospel proclaimed as an eternal, unchanging announcement to every nation must not be reframed through သာသနာပြု’s Buddhist-institutional flavor (propagating the Buddha’s Sasana); this is proclamation of a finished redemptive announcement, not institution-building.
Inspiration and Authority of Prophecy
Burmese name: ပရောဖက်ပြုချက်၏ လှုံ့ဆော်မှုနှင့် အာဏာ
Key terms: prophecy, prophet, mystery
Review routing: Human theologian
God-given, closed, authoritative prophetic disclosure, explicitly sealed against addition or subtraction (22:18-19), must be distinguished from ဗေဒင် (astrological forecasting) and from an open body of teaching subject to later human supplementation, unlike an evolving corpus of commentary.
Intermediate State and Hades
Burmese name: မရဏာနိုင်ငံနှင့် အလယ်အလတ်အခြေအနေ
Key terms: hades, keys_of_death_and_hades, souls_intermediate_state, death
Review routing: Human theologian
Conscious personal existence between death and final resurrection, and Christ’s exclusive authority over that realm, must not be rendered ငရဲ (the Buddhist hell-realm of active suffering) nor read as a transitional stage on the way to a new bodily rebirth; Hades is temporary, intermediate, and itself finally abolished (cast into the lake of fire, 20:14).
Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Burmese name: ညှဉ်းပန်းနှိပ်စက်ခြင်းအောက်တွင် ခံနိုင်ရည်ရှိစွာ သက်သေခံခြင်း
Key terms: testimony_witness, overcomer, endurance, tribulation, two_witnesses, synagogue_of_satan
Review routing: Human theologian
Endurance and overcoming must be grounded in the Lamb’s finished work and God’s own vindication, not self-cultivated virtue (khanti) or self-attained mastery over defilements (kilesa) as pursued in Buddhist practice; ဒုက္ခ (dukkha, the First Noble Truth) risks collapsing Christ-specific persecution into a universal existential condition resolved by personal discipline rather than a historically-located suffering from which God himself delivers and vindicates.
Sanctification and Holiness
Burmese name: သန့်ရှင်းခြင်းနှင့် သန့်ရှင်းမှု
Key terms: holy, saints, holy_holy_holy
Review routing: Human theologian
God’s own triune holiness, ceaselessly worshiped, and the derived holiness of his people must be taught as moral and relational set-apartness, not ritual purity practiced through pagoda-related devotional acts.
The Sovereignty of God over History
Burmese name: သမိုင်းအပေါ် ဘုရားသခင်၏ အချုပ်အခြာအာဏာ
Key terms: one_who_is_who_was_who_is_coming, almighty, judgment, alpha_and_omega, scroll_and_seal
Review routing: Human theologian
God’s personal governance of all historical events, including the sequential seal/trumpet/bowl judgments, must not be read as impersonal ကံ (karmic cause-and-effect) unfolding automatically; the text repeatedly names a personal, enthroned, speaking God who directs each event by decree.
Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation
Burmese name: တင်စားချက်နှင့် ဗျာဒိတ်ရိပ်ခြင်း အနက်အဓိပ္ပာယ်ဖွင့်ခြင်း
Key terms: mystery, four_horsemen, number_of_the_beast, millennium, trumpet_bowl, scroll_and_seal
Review routing: Human theologian
Apocalyptic symbols require divinely-given interpretation and sober hermeneutics; the book’s genre-title (ဗျာဒိတ်တော်) is phonetically and conceptually close to ဗေဒင် (astrology/fortune-telling), already flagged in the Romans baseline as a false parallel for ‘prophet.’ Symbolic numbers (666, 144,000, 1,000 years) risk being imported into speculative numerology drawn from folk-astrological practice rather than treated as divinely-disclosed pattern and meaning.
Universal Scope of Redemption
Burmese name: ကယ်တင်ခြင်း၏ လူတိုင်းအတွက်ဖြစ်ခြင်း
Key terms: gentiles, eternal_gospel, multitude_and_144000
Review routing: Human theologian
The redeemed multitude is drawn from every nation, tribe, people, and language without ethnic or national limit; this must resist any nationalist reading that privileges Buddhist-Burman ethnic-religious identity as inherently favored over minority peoples.
Vindication of the Saints
Burmese name: သန့်ရှင်းသူများအား တရားမျှတမှုပေးခြင်း
Key terms: souls_intermediate_state, white_robes, book_of_life, accuser
Review routing: Human theologian
Martyrs’ continuing conscious existence and God’s personal act of vindication collide with the Buddhist anatta (no-permanent-self) teaching, which denies any continuing personal identity after death; the text requires teaching that affirms genuine, personal, conscious existence between death and resurrection.
Medium Risk Doctrines
Adoption and Inheritance
Burmese name: သားအဖြစ်လက်ခံခြင်းနှင့် အမွေခံခြင်း
Key terms: overcomer, reign_eternal, book_of_life
Review routing: Native speaker review
The overcomer’s full, permanent inheritance-sonship is a granted status, not a probationary reward nor a self-accumulated merit-ledger determining final destiny; the promised inheritance builds directly on the Romans baseline adoption doctrine.
Millennial Reign Interpretation
Burmese name: အနှစ်တစ်ထောင် စံနန်းစံခြင်း၏ အနက်အဓိပ္ပာယ်
Key terms: millennium, reign_eternal
Review routing: Native speaker review
The nature and timing of the thousand-year reign is a legitimate point of interpretive diversity among faithful Bible interpreters (premillennial, amillennial, postmillennial); translators must avoid imposing a single view as the only orthodox reading while preserving the certainty of Christ’s own reign.
Prayer and Intercession of the Saints
Burmese name: သန့်ရှင်းသူများ၏ ဆုတောင်းခြင်းနှင့် အသနားခံခြင်း
Key terms: incense_prayers_of_saints
Review routing: Native speaker review
Believers’ prayers are received directly by God at his own heavenly altar with real historical effect; this must not be read as ritual merit-generating incense-offering as practiced at a pagoda, nor as petition mediated through the 37 nats.
Low Risk Doctrines
Thanksgiving and Praise
Burmese name: ကျေးဇူးတင်ခြင်းနှင့် ချီးမွမ်းခြင်း
Key terms: hallelujah, worthy, crown
Review routing: Automated review
Standard worship vocabulary; minor risk of collapsing into generic ritual merit-dedication language (ကုသိုလ်ရှေးရေး), but overall low doctrinal risk consistent with the Romans baseline thanksgiving entry.
