Welcome to the Library

What is this?

The Library publishes the doctrine-aware translation research behind tri-bible.ai, one language and book at a time — free to read and reuse.

How to navigate

Pick a language, then a book, in the sidebar. Each book has a Doctrine Analysis, a Core Glossary, and, for the language as a whole, a Comparative Theology and Regional Analysis. Use the search icon in the top nav to jump straight to a term or doctrine instead of browsing.

What the risk tiers mean

Every doctrine and glossary term is labeled with how easily it could be misread or mistranslated in that language's own cultural and religious context:

Critical
A wrong word choice here risks distorting core theology — always reviewed by a theologian before use.
High
A real, well-documented risk of confusion with another tradition or belief system — needs theologian review.
Medium
Worth a native speaker's second look, but not likely to distort the core meaning.
Low
Minor wording nuance — low risk of confusion either way.

Cross-Reference Analysis

Daniel — Cross-Reference and Theme Analysis (Hmong Destination Language)

§0. Methodology and Citation Convention

This document maps every identifiable Old Testament quotation/allusion within Daniel, every New Testament quotation/allusion of Daniel, messianic references, typological patterns, and — per the mandate governing this Hmong pipeline — explicit parallels to the existing Hmong Romans Language Package (Baseline v1.0), together with rendering-consistency rules that keep shared quotations and shared theological vocabulary aligned across curricula.

Citation format: All citations in this document use the normalizable form Book Chapter:Verse (e.g., Daniel 7:13, Romans 8:34, Genesis 15:6, Isaiah 45:23) with full English book names, no abbreviations, consistent with the citation style already used in assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json. This is distinct from the destination-language curriculum citation convention (Loos [chapter]:[verse] for Romans; a Hmong book-name convention for Daniel is not yet fixed and is flagged [TRANSLATOR REVIEW NEEDED: standard Hmong book-name transliteration for "Daniel," e.g. Ntaniyees] for Phase 2).

Connection-type key used in the “OT/NT Connection” column below:

  • Quotation — direct verbal dependency (one text explicitly cites or near-verbatim echoes the other)
  • Allusion — clear thematic/structural dependency without verbatim wording
  • Type/Fulfillment — an OT pattern/figure understood as prefiguring a later, greater NT reality
  • Thematic parallel — shared doctrinal content, no literary dependency implied

All risk-tier labels below are inherited unchanged from assets/bible_term_registry.json §risk_tier_definitions and from analysis/07_semantic_analysis.md/analysis/08_core_glossary.md’s Daniel-specific tiering; no term risk level is altered by this document.

PART A — CHAPTER-BY-CHAPTER CROSS-REFERENCE MATRIX

Chapter 1

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 1:1-2Sovereignty; Prayer and Perseverance in ExileNebuchadnezzar, DanielAllusion: Jeremiah 25:1,9-11; 2 Kings 24:1-2,13 (predicted conquest); Deuteronomy 28:36,64 (covenant curse of exile)Low. kev raug ntes coj mus rau lwm lub tebchaws (exile) used consistently; historical fulfillment of covenant-curse prophecy, not itself a quotation.
Daniel 1:3-7Faithfulness under PersecutionDaniel, Hananiah, Mishael, AzariahType/Fulfillment (forward-looking narrative type, not quotation): Genesis 41:45 (Joseph renamed by Pharaoh) — faithful Hebrew serving a pagan courtLow-Medium. Joseph/Daniel narrative typology is a strong positive teaching bridge; log for teaching notes, not lexical action.
Daniel 1:8-16Faithfulness under PersecutionDanielAllusion: Leviticus 11 (dietary law background); Thematic parallel: Romans 14:1-23 (conscience and disputable matters, though different specific issue — food-purity resolve vs. food-liberty debate)Medium. Baseline conscience term (tej kev paub zoo paub phem hauv lub siab) may bridge teaching between Daniel 1 and Romans 14, but the two passages argue in opposite directions (resolve to abstain vs. freedom to eat) — must not be flattened into a single principle.
Daniel 1:17,20Wisdom and Discernment from GodDaniel and companionsType/Fulfillment: 1 Kings 3:12; 4:29-34 (Solomon’s God-given wisdom); Thematic parallel: Colossians 2:3 (all wisdom hidden in Christ)Low. Positive wisdom theme, no collision; reuses D49 kev txawj ntse los ntawm Vajtswv.

Chapter 2

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 2:1-13Wisdom and Discernment from GodChaldeans, NebuchadnezzarType/Fulfillment: Genesis 41:8; Exodus 7:11 (Pharaoh’s wise men/magicians fail; Joseph succeeds by revelation, not technique)Critical (inherited from D14). Joseph-before-Pharaoh / Daniel-before-Nebuchadnezzar typology reinforces the mandatory contrast between God-given revelation and occult technique (cov txiv neeb thiab cov saib yaig).
Daniel 2:20-23Sovereignty; Wisdom and DiscernmentDanielThematic parallel (doxological genre): Romans 11:33-36 (“Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God”); 1 Corinthians 1:24-25 (Christ the wisdom and power of God)High. Structural doxology parallel; rendering-consistency rule: Vajtswv hwjchim (power, mandatorily qualified) must remain identical whether cited from Daniel 2:20-23 or Romans 11:33-36 in this or any future curriculum.
Daniel 2:31-35Sovereignty; Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End TimesNebuchadnezzarAllusion: internal to Daniel — re-presented in beast form at Daniel 7:1-8; Type/Fulfillment anticipates Revelation 13’s composite beastLow. Kept lexically distinct from the ch.3 worship-idol despite the shared root word tselem.
Daniel 2:34-35,44-45Son of Man and Messianic Kingship; Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End TimesAllusion: Isaiah 2:2-4 (the mountain of the LORD’s house established); Quotation-adjacent Type/Fulfillment: Psalm 118:22 (the stone the builders rejected) as received in Matthew 21:42-44, Luke 20:17-18; Quotation: Isaiah 8:14 / Isaiah 28:16 as cited in Romans 9:32-33, 1 Peter 2:6-8, Ephesians 2:20Critical. Daniel’s triumphant, growing/crushing stone (kingdom-conquest imagery) is a different stone-image than Paul’s stumbling-stone in Romans 9:32-33 (a stone people trip over, quoting Isaiah 8:14/28:16). Both use pob zeb in Hmong. Rendering-consistency rule: keep Daniel 2’s lub pob zeb uas tsis yog neeg txhais tes txaug lexically distinct from the baseline’s qhov/pob zeb ua rau dawm ceg (Romans stumbling_block entry); never merge the two images in a single teaching note without explicitly distinguishing “stone that conquers/grows” from “stone that causes stumbling.”

Chapter 3

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 3:1-7Faithfulness under PersecutionNebuchadnezzarAllusion: Exodus 20:3-5 (no other gods, no idols); Type/Fulfillment: Revelation 13:4,8,15 (worship of the beast and its image)Critical (inherited dab mlom/pehawm). Strong typological forerunner to Revelation’s beast-worship; useful for future End Times curricula.
Daniel 3:16-18Faithfulness under PersecutionShadrach, Meshach, AbednegoThematic parallel: Hebrews 11:34-35 (“quenched the flames of fire”…“others were tortured, refusing to accept release” — the “but if not” faith pattern); Philippians 1:20-21High. Foundational “faith regardless of outcome” text; must be taught as non-transactional faith, guarding against any prosperity-gospel or ritual-appeasement drift (per baseline §3 forbidden-substitution concerns).
Daniel 3:19-27Faithfulness under PersecutionShadrach, Meshach, AbednegoAllusion: Isaiah 43:2 (“when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned”); Hebrews 11:34Low-Medium. Safe, celebratory deliverance narrative.
Daniel 3:25,28Faithfulness under Persecution; Son of Man (contrast)the fourth figure in the furnaceThematic parallel (unresolved identity question, not direct quotation): Genesis 18; Joshua 5:13-15 (ambiguous “angel of the LORD” appearances)Critical (D18/D38 theologian-review flag). Must not be conflated with Leej Tub ntawm Vajtswv.

Chapter 4

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 4:17,25,32God’s Sovereignty over Kings and KingdomsNebuchadnezzarAllusion: 1 Samuel 2:6-8 (Hannah’s song); Psalm 75:6-7; Job 12:23; Type/Fulfillment: Luke 1:52 (Magnificat: “brought down the mighty”); Acts 12:23 (Herod struck down); Thematic parallel: Romans 13:1 (“no authority except from God”)Critical. Direct doctrinal parallel to Romans 13:1 and to Romans 9’s sovereignty argument; hmoov (fate) vocabulary PERMANENTLY FORBIDDEN, as with D20 and baseline election_choose.
Daniel 4:30Faithfulness under Persecution (negative example)NebuchadnezzarThematic parallel: Acts 12:22-23 (Herod’s similarly self-exalting boast and judgment)Low. Reuses baseline kev khav theeb (boasting).
Daniel 4:34-37Wisdom and Discernment; SovereigntyNebuchadnezzarThematic parallel: James 4:6,10; 1 Peter 5:5-6 (God opposes the proud, exalts the humble)Low-Medium. Positive repentance/restoration narrative.

Chapter 5

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 5:1-4,23God’s Sovereignty over Kings and KingdomsBelshazzarAllusion: 2 Kings 25:13-15 (origin of the Temple vessels); Exodus 20:3-5Medium. Reinforces sacrilege/desecration theme.
Daniel 5:25-28Sovereignty; Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End TimesBelshazzarType/Fulfillment: 2 Corinthians 5:10 (judgment seat of Christ); Revelation 20:12 (books, judgment by deeds) — anticipates Daniel 7:10’s judgment-court sceneHigh. Connects forward to cov phau ntawv txiav txim (D6); must not be taught as a manipulable folk-fate ledger (see D6 concern).

Chapter 6

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 6:4-9Faithfulness under Persecution; Prayer and Perseverance in ExileDaniel, DariusType/Fulfillment: Acts 4:18-20; Acts 5:27-29 (“we must obey God rather than any human authority”); Thematic tension: Romans 13:1-7 (submission to governing authority)Critical. Key teaching-tension text: Daniel 6 (principled refusal for the sake of worship) MUST be taught in deliberate tandem with Romans 13:1-7, so learners grasp the limiting principle (submission ends where obedience to man requires disobedience to God) rather than perceiving the two texts as contradictory.
Daniel 6:10Prayer and Perseverance in ExileDanielAllusion: Psalm 55:17; 1 Kings 8:44-48 (prayer toward the Temple in exile); Thematic parallel: Acts 3:1; 10:9 (fixed prayer hours)Low-Medium. Strong positive cross-Testament continuity of disciplined prayer rhythm.
Daniel 6:16,20-23Faithfulness under PersecutionDanielAllusion: Hebrews 11:33 (“stopped the mouths of lions”); inverse image at 1 Peter 5:8Low-Medium. Safe, celebratory deliverance narrative.
Daniel 6:26-27Faithfulness under PersecutionDariusThematic parallel: 1 Thessalonians 1:9 (“turn to God from idols, to serve the living and true God”)Low-Medium. Reinforces Vajtswv uas muaj txoj sia nyob.

Chapter 7 (core passage — expanded treatment)

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 7:1-8Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End Timesfour beastsAllusion: Hosea 13:7-8 (God as lion/bear, inverse image); Type/Fulfillment: Revelation 13:1-2 (composite beast combining lion, bear, leopard features — direct literary dependency)Medium-High. Revelation’s beast draws directly on Daniel 7; teach as deliberate intertextual continuity for any future Revelation curriculum.
Daniel 7:9-10God’s Sovereignty over Kings and Kingdoms; Apocalyptic ProphecyAncient of DaysQuotation-level dependency: Ezekiel 1:15-21,26-28 (wheeled, fiery throne-chariot); Allusion: Psalm 9:7-8; 96:13; Type/Fulfillment: Revelation 4:2-6 (throne-room vision drawing on both Daniel 7 and Ezekiel 1); Revelation 20:11-12 (great white throne, books opened)Critical. Tus Laug Ib Txhis (Vajtswv) mandatory qualifier at every occurrence; Revelation’s throne scenes are the direct literary heirs of this text and MUST reuse identical Hmong vocabulary in any future Revelation curriculum built on this pipeline.
Daniel 7:13Son of Man and Messianic KingshipSon of ManAllusion: Psalm 8:4; Psalm 68:4; Psalm 104:3; Isaiah 19:1 (cloud-riding as a divine prerogative); Quotation: Matthew 24:30; Matthew 26:64; Mark 13:26; Mark 14:62; Luke 21:27 (Jesus directly cites this verse of Himself, including at His own trial); Allusion: Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 1:7,13-14Critical. This is the single most-quoted OT verse by Jesus regarding Himself. See §D (Rendering-Consistency Rules) below — Leej Tub ntawm Neeg must be used identically wherever these NT citations are rendered in any future Gospel/Revelation Hmong curriculum from this pipeline.
Daniel 7:14Son of Man and Messianic KingshipSon of ManAllusion: Psalm 2:6-8; Psalm 72:11 (“all kings fall down before him, all nations serve him”); Quotation: Isaiah 45:23 as cited in Philippians 2:9-11 and Romans 14:11 (“every knee shall bow”); Type/Fulfillment: Matthew 28:18; Revelation 5:9-13; Revelation 11:15Critical. See §D rendering rule on pehawm vs. Romans 14:11/Philippians 2:10-11’s “bow the knee” vocabulary — both texts affirm universal worship-submission to the divine Son, and must be taught as the same theological reality even though the specific verbs differ (pehawm/serve vs. txhos caug/bow the knee).
Daniel 7:18,22,27Faithfulness under Persecution; Son of Man and Messianic Kingshipthe saints of the Most HighType/Fulfillment: Revelation 20:4; 1 Corinthians 6:2; 2 Timothy 2:12 (“if we endure, we will also reign with him”)High. Corporate-with-Christ reign theme; cov ntseeg dawb huv ntawm Vajtswv Siab Tshaj Plaws must not merge with ancestor-veneration categories (D30).
Daniel 7:25Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End Timesthe little hornQuotation-level numeric dependency: Revelation 12:14; Revelation 11:2-3; 13:5 (same period expressed as 42 months/1260 days)Medium. Coded time-unit consistency required across any future Revelation curriculum.

Chapter 8

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 8:9-14,23-25Faithfulness under Persecution; Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End Timeslittle horn (Antiochus-type)Type/Fulfillment: 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (man of lawlessness who exalts himself, sits in God’s temple); 1 John 2:18 (many antichrists)Medium-High. Layered fulfillment chain: Antiochus (historical) → man of lawlessness (Pauline) → future Antichrist figure; must teach the layers, not collapse them into one referent.
Daniel 8:16-17,19Wisdom and Discernment from GodGabrielType/Fulfillment: Luke 1:11-20,26-38 (the same named angel appears at the announcements of John the Baptist’s and Jesus’ births)Low. Strong positive cross-canonical continuity; proper-name transliteration consistency required ([TRANSLATOR REVIEW NEEDED] per D32).
Daniel 8:13-14Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End TimesAllusion: anticipates the fuller “abomination of desolation” development at Daniel 9:27; 11:31; 12:11 and Matthew 24:15Medium. Comprehension-gap numeric detail.

Chapter 9

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 9:2Wisdom and Discernment from God; Apocalyptic ProphecyDanielQuotation: Jeremiah 25:11-12; Jeremiah 29:10 (“seventy years”)Low. Explicit named OT source within Daniel itself; render Vaj Lug Kub (Scripture, baseline reuse) consistently.
Daniel 9:4-19Prayer and Perseverance in ExileDanielQuotation: Deuteronomy 7:9 (“keeping covenant and mercy,” echoed verbatim at 9:4); Quotation: the covenant curses of Deuteronomy 28:15-68 and Leviticus 26:14-39, explicitly invoked at 9:11,13 (“the curse and the oath written in the Law of Moses”); Allusion: Nehemiah 1:5-11; 9:32-37 (near-identical corporate confession form)Critical. Daniel 9:11,13 directly cites the Law of Moses’ covenant curses — MUST reuse the baseline’s Txoj Kevcai (ntawm Vajtswv / Mauxes) fixed rendering with its mandatory qualifier at every occurrence in this passage.
Daniel 9:18Prayer and Perseverance in Exile; Grace and Salvation by Faith Alone (cross-reference)DanielThematic parallel (OT anticipation, not quotation): Romans 3:20-24; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5 (“not by works of righteousness… but according to his mercy”)Critical. See §D rendering rule — Daniel’s “not because of our righteousness but because of your great mercy” is the OT’s clearest anticipatory statement of the Grace and Salvation by Faith Alone doctrine central to the Romans curriculum; must reuse baseline mercy (txoj kev khuv leej) exactly.
Daniel 9:24-27Son of Man and Messianic Kingship; Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End Timesthe Anointed OneAllusion: Isaiah 53:8 (“cut off from the land of the living”); Quotation: Matthew 24:15 explicitly names Daniel (“the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet”); Mark 13:14; Luke 21:20-24; Thematic parallel: Romans 3:25 (propitiation); Romans 5:6-8 (Christ died for us)Critical. The single most explicit NT naming of Daniel as a prophetic source. See §D rendering rule bridging tus Mexiyas to baseline Yexus Khetos and to the Romans propitiation_atoning_sacrifice doctrine.

Chapter 10

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 10:5-6Apocalyptic Prophecy; Wisdom and Discernmentthe man clothed in linenQuotation-level dependency: Ezekiel 1:26-28; Ezekiel 9:2,11 (man clothed in linen with a writing case); Type/Fulfillment (contested): Revelation 1:13-16 (strikingly similar Son of Man description — eyes like fire, face like lightning)High. Same theologian-review flag as D38 (identity: angel vs. Christophany); the literary echo chain Ezekiel → Daniel → Revelation should be taught as a consistent divine-appearance pattern without prematurely resolving the identity question.
Daniel 10:13,21; 12:1God’s Sovereignty over Kings and KingdomsMichaelType/Fulfillment: Jude 9; Revelation 12:7-9 (Michael and his angels fight the dragon)Low-Medium. Consistent angelic-warfare figure across Testaments.
Daniel 10:13,20God’s Sovereignty over Kings and Kingdoms; Apocalyptic Prophecyprince of the kingdom of PersiaThematic parallel: Ephesians 6:12 (“rulers… authorities… cosmic powers… spiritual forces of evil”); Colossians 1:16; Colossians 2:15 (Christ disarmed the rulers and authorities, triumphing over them); Romans 8:38-39 (“nor rulers, nor powers… will be able to separate us”)Critical. Already flagged for mandatory theologian review at the term level (D40). At the cross-reference level, Romans 8:38-39/Colossians 2:15 is the essential resolving anchor: whatever this spiritual opposition is, Scripture teaches it is already defeated in Christ and cannot ultimately thwart God’s purposes. This connection must be taught together with the term, to prevent an unresolved cosmic-dualism reading.

Chapter 11

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 11:31Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End TimesSame dependency chain as Daniel 9:27; Quotation: Matthew 24:15Critical. Reuse the fixed rendering established at Daniel 9:27 identically here.
Daniel 11:36Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End Timesthe self-exalting kingQuotation-level dependency: 2 Thessalonians 2:4 (“who opposes and exalts himself over everything called god… he takes his seat in the temple of God” — near-verbatim conceptual dependency)High. One of the clearest OT-to-NT direct dependencies in the End Times doctrine; render consistently with the little-horn figures of Daniel 7 and 8 as part of one typological chain.
Daniel 11:32-35Faithfulness under Persecution; Wisdom and DiscernmentThematic parallel: Hebrews 11:33-38 (general list of faithful sufferers, plausibly reflecting the intertestamental martyrdoms this chapter anticipates)Medium. Historical-typological parallel, not a direct quotation.

Chapter 12

PassageThemeRelated Character(s)OT/NT ConnectionTranslation Sensitivity
Daniel 12:1Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End TimesMichaelQuotation: Matthew 24:21 (“then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now” — direct verbal dependency); Mark 13:19Critical. Jesus’ Olivet Discourse draws its wording directly from this verse; see §D rendering rule.
Daniel 12:2Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End Times; Faithfulness under PersecutionQuotation: Isaiah 26:19 (“your dead shall live… awake and sing”); Allusion: Isaiah 66:24 (undying contempt/worm imagery); Quotation: John 5:28-29 (“those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment” — direct dependency on Daniel 12:2’s two-destiny structure); 1 Corinthians 15:20-23,42-44; Revelation 20:11-15Critical. The OT’s clearest bodily-resurrection text; see §D rendering rule.
Daniel 12:3Wisdom and Discernment from GodThematic parallel: Matthew 13:43 (“then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father”)Low-Medium. Safe positive parallel, not verbatim.
Daniel 12:4,9Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End TimesDeliberate reversal: Revelation 22:10 (“Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near”)Medium. Revelation intentionally contrasts itself with Daniel’s sealed book to signal the near-fulfillment era has begun; worth an explicit teaching note on this literary reversal.
Daniel 12:7,11-12Apocalyptic Prophecy and the End TimesQuotation-level numeric dependency: Revelation 12:14; 11:2-3; 13:5Medium. Numeric consistency with the Chapter 7 rendering of the same time-code.

PART C — TYPOLOGICAL PARALLELS TABLE

OT Type (Daniel)NT Fulfillment/AntitypeNature of TypologyTranslation/Teaching Note
Joseph before Pharaoh (Genesis 41, background) / Daniel before NebuchadnezzarChrist, the greater revealer of hidden wisdom (Colossians 2:3)Narrative-pattern typology (faithful exile elevated to reveal God’s hidden plan to a pagan ruler)Teaching note only; no lexical action required.
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego delivered through fire (Daniel 3)Christ’s resurrection — deliverance through, not merely from, a death-like ordealPattern typologyMust be taught carefully: the three men were physically preserved, not raised from death; the parallel is one of vindicated faith through an ordeal, not identical events.
The stone not cut by human hands (Daniel 2:34-35,44-45)Christ as the cornerstone/foundation of an indestructible kingdom (Ephesians 2:20; 1 Peter 2:6-8)Direct symbolic typologyKeep distinct from the Romans 9:33 stumbling-stone image (see Ch.2 entry above).
The Son of Man who comes with the clouds and receives worship (Daniel 7:13-14)Jesus Christ’s identity, first coming (self-designation) and Second Coming (Matthew 24:30; Acts 1:11)Direct titular typology — the strongest in the bookCore passage; Leej Tub ntawm Neeg must always be taught alongside Leej Tub ntawm Vajtswv, never as competing/lesser titles.
The Anointed One cut off (Daniel 9:26)Christ’s atoning death (Romans 3:25; 5:6-8)Direct predictive typologyBridge explicitly to baseline propitiation_atoning_sacrifice and jesus_christ (Khetos = “Anointed One”).
Resurrection to everlasting life or contempt (Daniel 12:2)Christ as the “firstfruits” of resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:20-23); final resurrection of all (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15)Direct predictive typologyMust be distinguished from Hmong ancestral-journey/reincarnation beliefs, per D44.
The saints of the Most High receiving the kingdom (Daniel 7:18,22,27)The Church reigning with Christ (Revelation 20:4; 2 Timothy 2:12)Corporate typologyMust not be conflated with venerated ancestors, per D30.

PART D — PARALLELS TO OTHER TRI CURRICULA (ROMANS) AND RENDERING-CONSISTENCY RULES

Because this Hmong pipeline’s only prior Language Package is Romans, and because Daniel and Romans share substantial theological DNA (sovereignty, grace, the identity of Christ, apocalyptic hope), the following rules are mandatory for any Phase 2 generation touching both books, or citing a shared OT text (e.g., Isaiah 45:23) that appears in both curricula’s source material.

#Shared ElementDaniel LocationRomans LocationRendering-Consistency Rule
R1Universal worship-submission to the divine SonDaniel 7:14 (pehawm, cultic-service verb)Romans 14:11 (quoting Isaiah 45:23, “every knee shall bow”)Both affirm the same theological reality (universal creaturely submission/worship owed to the divine Son) via different verbs (pehawm = serve/worship vs. a bow-the-knee idiom for Romans 14:11/Philippians 2:10). Do not merge the verbs into one Hmong word, but the accompanying teaching note in either curriculum MUST cross-reference the other passage as the same doctrinal claim from two Testaments.
R2The “stone” imagesDaniel 2:34-35,44-45 (triumphant, kingdom-building stone)Romans 9:32-33 (stumbling stone, quoting Isaiah 8:14/28:16)PERMANENTLY keep lub pob zeb uas tsis yog neeg txhais tes txaug (Daniel) lexically distinct from qhov/pob zeb ua rau dawm ceg (Romans stumbling_block). These are two different OT stone-texts with opposite rhetorical functions (triumph vs. offense); never substitute one for the other.
R3Doxology of divine wisdom/powerDaniel 2:20-23Romans 11:33-36Vajtswv hwjchim (mandatorily qualified) must be identical in both; if a future lesson places these two doxologies side by side, no alternate synonym for “power” or “wisdom” may be introduced in either.
R4God’s sovereignty over rulersDaniel 4:17,25,32 (Vajtswv Siab Tshaj Plaws yog tus kav tag nrho tej nceeg vaj ntawm neeg...raws li nws lub siab nyiam)Romans 9:6-24 (election); Romans 13:1 (cov muaj hwjchim kav teb chaws)hmoov (fate) vocabulary is PERMANENTLY FORBIDDEN for both texts, exactly as already established for baseline election_choose/foreknow_predestine. The volitional formula raws li nws lub siab nyiam (baseline will_of_god root) must appear in both Daniel 4 and any Romans 9 teaching that cross-references it.
R5Civil obedience vs. obedience to GodDaniel 6:4-9 (Daniel’s principled refusal)Romans 13:1-7 (submit to governing authorities)Any lesson touching Daniel 6 MUST cross-reference Romans 13:1-7 (and Acts 5:29) explicitly, teaching the limiting principle together, never presenting Daniel 6 as a stand-alone model of general civil disobedience.
R6Grace/mercy preceding any human righteousnessDaniel 9:18 (“not because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy”)Romans 3:20-24; Romans 4:4-5; Romans 11:6Daniel 9:18 must reuse baseline mercy (txoj kev khuv leej) exactly, kept lexically distinct from txiaj ntsim (grace), per the baseline’s mercy/grace distinction (Romans 9, 11). koob hmoov remains PERMANENTLY FORBIDDEN for either term in either book.
R7The Anointed One / Christ’s atoning deathDaniel 9:26 (Messiah “cut off”)Romans 3:25 (qhov theej txhoj kev txhaum, propitiation); Romans 5:6-8tus Mexiyas (Daniel 9) must be explicitly taught as pointing to and fulfilled in Yexus Khetos (baseline), with Khetos itself glossed as “Anointed One” to make the Hebrew/Greek terminological bridge visible to Hmong learners.
R8Spiritual powers and their ultimate defeatDaniel 10:13,20 (prince of the kingdom of Persia)Romans 8:38-39 (“nor rulers, nor powers… will be able to separate us”)Any teaching on Daniel 10’s territorial spiritual opposition MUST be anchored to Romans 8:38-39 (and Colossians 2:15) to prevent an unresolved cosmic-dualism reading; the territorial “prince” is real but already-subordinate, never a peer power to God.
R9Kingdom of God — present inauguration vs. future consummationDaniel 2:44; 7:14,27 (lub Nceeg Vaj ntawm Vajtswv, everlasting/indestructible)Romans 14:17 (lub Nceeg Vaj ntawm Vajtswv, present ethical reality)Baseline kingdom_of_god rendering is reused identically; teaching note should distinguish Daniel’s future-consummation emphasis from Romans 14’s already-present ethical emphasis, without treating them as different kingdoms.
R10Mystery — hidden divine plan now disclosedDaniel 2:18-19,27-30,47 (raz)Romans 11:25; 16:25 (mystērion)Baseline mystery (zaj lus zais cia) reused exactly; both concepts (Nebuchadnezzar’s dream-secret; Israel’s partial hardening/Gentile inclusion) share the “hidden, then revealed by God alone” structure and may be cross-taught.
R11Endurance under trialDaniel 1, 3, 6 (narrative pattern)Romans 5:3-5; 8:25; 12:12; 15:4-5 (kev ua siab ntev)Baseline endurance term reused identically; Daniel supplies narrative illustration for Romans’ didactic statements on endurance producing hope.
R12Righteousness/mercy contrast in judgmentDaniel 5:25-28 (weighed and found wanting)Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10Not a lexical-reuse rule but a thematic cross-reference; both texts ground human insufficiency before divine judgment, resolved only by grace (Romans) not by re-weighing effort.

General rule for shared OT quotations appearing in both a Daniel lesson and a Romans lesson (e.g., Isaiah 45:23; Deuteronomy 28’s curses; Isaiah 8:14/28:16): the underlying Hmong Old Testament quotation, wherever it must be quoted directly, should be rendered identically in both curricula’s footnotes; only the contextual application (Danielic vs. Pauline) may differ. Any divergence in the quoted Hmong OT text itself between the two curricula must be flagged [TRANSLATOR REVIEW NEEDED: OT quotation-text divergence between Daniel and Romans curricula] rather than silently resolved.

§E. Full-Book Coverage Confirmation

All twelve chapters of Daniel have been reviewed for OT quotations/allusions, NT quotations/allusions, messianic content, typology, and Romans-curriculum parallels. No chapter was found to contribute zero cross-reference material; chapters with comparatively thinner doctrinal density (e.g., Chapter 5’s narrative material beyond the handwriting-oracle, Chapter 11’s historical detail beyond the self-exalting-king climax) are explicitly logged above as reviewed, with their available cross-references documented rather than omitted.
