Doctrine Analysis
Psalms — Doctrine Analysis (Hmong Language Package, Psalms Extension)
This document executes PRD Phase 1 Step 4: the full doctrine matrix for Psalms, chapter-by-chapter, consistent with assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json. Doctrine names, risk tiers, and review routing below are identical to the registry — this document does not introduce, rename, re-tier, or contradict any registry entry. Part A restates the eight doctrines with their full supporting-passage sets and translation-risk summaries (condensed from the registry; the registry remains the authoritative long-form description). Part B is the mandatory full-book chapter coverage log (Psalms 1–150), satisfying the PRD’s full-book coverage mandate: every chapter is assigned to its primary doctrine(s) or explicitly logged as “reviewed — general” content contributing no new doctrine-specific risk.

Translation risk summaries (see assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json for the full authoritative description of each; summarized here only for matrix compactness):
- Shepherd/King/Refuge — refuge vocabulary (
pob zeb, chaw ruaj khov, chaw nkaum) risks assimilation into protective-charm (khawv koob) practice;Shaddairequires the mandatoryhwjchimqualifier; the shepherd’sshebet(rod/scepter) must retain its lexical unity with the royal scepter of Ps 2/110 or the Shepherd-King theological link is severed. - Lament — Hmong custom favors ritual placation/avoidance over direct verbal complaint to spirits; unresolved laments (Ps 88) and imprecatory psalms (Ps 109, 137) require explicit framing as sanctioned covenant prayer entrusting vengeance to God, not personal cursing.
- Praise and Worship —
pehawmis identical topehawm dab(spirit veneration); object must always be stated (pehawm Vajtswv); Ps 115’s idol polemic reinforces, and must not merely illustrate, the replacement-not-addition catechesis. - Messianic Prophecy — Ps 45:6 (Elohim addressed to the king, Heb 1:8-9), Ps 2:7 (coronation-adoption Sonship), Ps 16:10 (Sheol/incorruption), and Ps 110:4 (Melchizedek) each carry named collision or diminishment risks documented in the glossary (B4-B8, B16).
- Confession and Forgiveness — Ps 51:11-12 is the highest-density test of the
Vaj Ntsuj Plig/ntsuj pligprefix discipline in the curriculum; v.10’s “create a clean heart” risks a ritual-purity misreading ofdawb huv; the three-term sin confession (pesha/avon/chattaah) must not flatten to onetxhaum. - Righteous and Wicked — Ps 1:1’s
esher(“blessed”) carries the identicalkoob hmoovcollision risk documented forcharis;rasha(active injustice) must stay lexically distinct from the Romans-fixedasebēs/tus tsis hwm Vajtswv(irreverence); Ps 73’s theodicy tension must not be silently resolved. - Covenant Faithfulness (Hesed) —
chesedrequires TM-revision-level protection identical tocharis/election/righteousness; must not collapse intokoob hmoov, barekev hlub, txiaj ntsim, or unqualifiedtxoj kev khuv leej; Ps 136’s 26-fold refrain and Ps 89’s lament-within-covenant both demand fixed, consistent rendering. - Kingship/Messianic King —
mashiachis the lexical root ofKhetosand must not be flattened to generic “king”; Ps 2:7’s Son-formula requires the two-layer teaching; Ps 110:1’s two-Person distinction (tus Tswv/tus Tswv) is lexically invisible in Hmong without an explicit note; Ps 110:4’s Melchizedek priesthood must never usetxiv neebvocabulary.

Full-book coverage confirmation: All 150 chapters of the Psalter are logged above; none were silently skipped. Chapters marked “reviewed — general” were confirmed not to introduce any doctrine-specific translation risk beyond what is already documented for their assigned doctrine(s) in Part A and in assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json.
Governing Note
This document extends, and never contradicts, assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json (Psalms). Any apparent conflict is resolved in favor of the registry. All eight doctrines carry Critical or High risk tiers requiring human theologian review before publication — consistent with the Romans baseline’s pattern that every doctrine in a curated curriculum warrants elevated scrutiny.
