What is this?

The Library publishes the doctrine-aware translation research behind tri-bible.ai, one language and book at a time — free to read and reuse.

How to navigate

Pick a language, then a book, in the sidebar. Each book has a Doctrine Analysis, a Core Glossary, and, for the language as a whole, a Comparative Theology and Regional Analysis. Use the search icon in the top nav to jump straight to a term or doctrine instead of browsing.

What the risk tiers mean

Every doctrine and glossary term is labeled with how easily it could be misread or mistranslated in that language's own cultural and religious context:

Critical
A wrong word choice here risks distorting core theology — always reviewed by a theologian before use.
High
A real, well-documented risk of confusion with another tradition or belief system — needs theologian review.
Medium
Worth a native speaker's second look, but not likely to distort the core meaning.
Low
Minor wording nuance — low risk of confusion either way.

Doctrine Analysis

Titus — Doctrine Analysis (Full-Book Coverage)

Part A: Doctrine Matrix

Every doctrine below is Critical or High risk; per assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json’s routing rule, all seven require mandatory human theologian review before publication — there is no Medium/Low-risk doctrine in this Language Package, matching the Romans baseline’s pattern.

IDDoctrineSupporting Passages (full-book)RiskReview Routing
1Grace That Trains for Godly LivingTitus 1:1 (kev hwm Vajtswv paired with qhov tseeb); 2:1-10 (household virtue lists framed as consequence of doctrine); 2:11-12; 2:14; 3:5-7CriticalHuman theologian
2Qualifications for EldersTitus 1:5-9; (contrast) 1:10-16 disqualifying false-teacher profileHighHuman theologian
3Sound Doctrine and Good WorksTitus 1:9; 1:16; 2:1; 2:7; 2:10 (adorning doctrine); 2:14; 3:1; 3:8; 3:14CriticalHuman theologian
4Salvation by Grace not WorksTitus 2:11; 3:5; 3:7CriticalHuman theologian
5Regeneration by the Holy SpiritTitus 3:5; 3:6CriticalHuman theologian
6Submission to AuthorityTitus 2:5; 2:9-10; 3:1-2HighHuman theologian
7Avoiding Divisive ControversiesTitus 1:10-14 (Jewish myths/circumcision party — seed form); 3:9-11HighHuman theologian

Escalation trigger (inherited from Romans §4/§9 convention): Any generated Phase 2 content touching any of the seven doctrines above must be automatically routed to human theologian review before publication. No automated-review or native-speaker-only bypass is permitted for this Language Package, since Titus — unlike Romans — contains zero Low/Medium-tier doctrines; the letter’s compressed length concentrates doctrinal weight into a small number of extremely dense clauses (see 3:5 note below).

Single most hazardous clause in the book: Titus 3:5 converges three independent collision points in one verse — (a) regeneration/παλιγγενεσία against Hmong soul-reincarnation belief (Doctrine 5), (b) the mandatory “Vaj” prefix on Πνεῦμα Ἅγιον in the same clause (Doctrine 5 / Romans-baseline #5), and (c) “washing” (λουτρόν) inheriting the kevcai-root ritual-purification collision (Romans-baseline #45 baptism precedent) — while simultaneously anchoring Doctrine 4’s works-exclusion claim (“not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy”). Any Phase 2 unit touching 3:5 must be flagged for the highest level of theologian scrutiny in this Language Package.

Part B: Chapter-by-Chapter Full-Book Coverage Log

Per the PRD Phase 1 full-book-coverage mandate (inherited Romans-baseline “Part B convention,” 11_doctrine_analysis.md), every chapter of Titus is logged below as reviewed. Titus is a short, densely doctrinal letter; unlike Romans, no chapter of Titus is doctrinally “thin” — all three chapters carry load-bearing content, so none is logged as a null-content chapter. Each is nonetheless explicitly reviewed and cross-referenced to the glossary (08_core_glossary.md) and doctrine matrix above, satisfying the never-silently-skip requirement.

Chapter 1 (Titus 1:1-16) — Reviewed

  • 1:1-4 (salutation): Introduces the Savior title (T5) applied to both “God our Savior” (1:3) and anticipates its Christ-application in later chapters — Christological deity-affirmation risk, same tier as Romans 9:5. Introduces “elect” (T17, Doctrine-6-adjacent election vocabulary inherited from Romans baseline, hmoov forbidden), “knowledge of the truth” (T113), “godliness” (T26, eusebeia — Doctrine 1 headline term), “hope of eternal life” (T27, T29), “promise before the ages” (T16), “God who does not lie” (T12).
  • 1:5-9 (elder qualifications): Direct textual basis for Doctrine 2. Surfaces tus txwj laus (T39), tus saib xyuas pawg ntseeg (T40), “husband of one wife” (T69, polygamy collision), sound-doctrine vocabulary (T47).
  • 1:10-16 (false teachers, circumcision party, Jewish myths): Seed-form basis for Doctrine 7 (full flowering at 3:9-11); surfaces T54 (myths, dab-root risk), T57 anticipatory register (genealogical/legalistic speculation), T62 (circumcision party), and the works/purity contrast of 1:15-16 (“to the defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure… they profess to know God, but in works they deny him”) — direct textual basis for Doctrine 3’s works-as-evidence claim and its collision risk with reparable-fault Hmong moral custom.
  • Doctrines touched: 1 (godliness introduced), 2 (full), 3 (1:16 negative case), 7 (seed form).

Chapter 2 (Titus 2:1-15) — Reviewed

  • 2:1-10 (household instruction — older men/women, young women, young men, slaves): Direct textual basis for Doctrine 6 (submission triad begins here at 2:5, 2:9-10) and Doctrine 3 (2:7 good works as teaching-model, 2:10 “adorn the doctrine”). Surfaces T39/T41/T42 distinction, T63 (hypotassō), T38/T44 (doulos/despotēs collision), extensive virtue/vice register (T74-T99).
  • 2:11-15 (core passage begins): Direct textual basis for Doctrine 1 (grace that trains, 2:11-12) and Doctrine 4 (2:11’s soteriological ground). Surfaces T6/T8/T9 (epiphany triad), T13 (grace), T22 (good works, zealous for), T5 (Savior — second occurrence, now explicitly of “our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,” 2:13, the strongest single Christological-deity clause in the letter).
  • Doctrines touched: 1 (core), 3, 4 (introduced), 6 (full triad begins).

Chapter 3 (Titus 3:1-15) — Reviewed

  • 3:1-2 (submission to rulers): Completes the Doctrine 6 triad; surfaces T64/T65/T66/T67/T68 (rulers, governing authority/hwjchim-inherited term, obey, insubordinate, disobedient).
  • 3:3-8 (core passage concludes — the letter’s soteriological centerpiece): Direct textual basis for Doctrine 4 (3:5, 3:7 — the sharpest works-exclusion statement in the letter) and Doctrine 5 (3:5-6 — regeneration, washing, Holy Spirit poured out, renewal). Surfaces T18 (mercy, kept distinct from grace), T19 (salvation, Christ-anchored), T20 (redemption), T21 (works of righteousness — excluded-ground sense, same lexeme as T22), T24 (justify/reckon righteous), T28 (heir), T30 (regeneration — highest-priority collision in the book), T31 (washing), T32 (renewal by the Holy Spirit), T33 (poured out).
  • 3:9-11 (avoid foolish controversies): Direct textual basis for Doctrine 7’s full statement; surfaces T56 (foolish controversies), T57 (genealogies — clan-identity collision), T58/T59/T60 (quarrels, fights about the law, divisive person).
  • 3:12-15 (closing greetings and final exhortation to good works, 3:14): Reinforces Doctrine 3’s closing bracket (good works commanded as the letter’s final practical word); low new-term yield (T118 genuine child echoed from 1:4 register; standard epistolary closing vocabulary already stable per Romans-baseline conventions for greetings/grace benediction).
  • Doctrines touched: 3 (closing bracket), 4 (core), 5 (core), 6 (triad completed), 7 (full statement).

Coverage summary: All 3 chapters of Titus are accounted for above with explicit doctrine cross-references; all 7 doctrines in the registry are anchored to specific, cited verses in at least one chapter, and every doctrine’s Critical/High risk tier is preserved unchanged from assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json. No chapter or verse range was silently omitted.

Governing Note

This file extends, and does not contradict, assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json (Titus baseline) and inherits without alteration every Critical/High-tier collision documented in the Romans Language Package baseline (grace/koob hmoov, election/hmoov, hwjchim, Vaj Ntsuj Plig, Txoj Kevcai qualifier, kev cai raus dej, kev raug ua kom dawb huv, kev cawm dim anchoring, ncaj ncees/suav tias qualifier). Any future Phase 2 generation task touching Titus must consult both this file and the Titus doctrine risk registry together, with the registry’s risk tier as final authority in case of any apparent conflict.
