Doctrine Analysis
Doctrine Analysis: Matthew 1–28 (Full Book Coverage)
Purpose
This document provides the complete doctrine matrix for the Matthew curriculum, extending the Romans baseline doctrine_risk_registry.json conventions to every chapter of Matthew, first to last. It is fully consistent with the companion assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json produced in this same step: same 44 doctrines, same risk tiers, same review routing. This file adds the chapter-by-chapter coverage trace the registry’s flat structure does not itself display, so that Phase 2 processing can confirm no chapter was silently skipped.
Per the PRD Phase 1 mandate, the core passage (Matthew 5:1-12, the Beatitudes) is the theological anchor of this curriculum, not its scope boundary. Every chapter 1–28 is accounted for below, including chapters that surface no new doctrine beyond material already tracked elsewhere — these are explicitly marked “reviewed, no new doctrinal load” rather than omitted.
Risk tier definitions are inherited exactly from the baseline:
- Critical — mistranslation alters or destroys essential doctrine; human theologian review required for every occurrence.
- High — mistranslation creates significant theological confusion or syncretism risk; human theologian review required.
- Medium — mistranslation reduces clarity but preserves essential meaning; native speaker review recommended.
- Low — mistranslation causes minor misunderstanding or imprecision; automated review sufficient.
Part 1 — Master Doctrine Matrix
| # | Doctrine | Kannada Doctrine Name | Risk | Key Supporting Passages (Matthew) | Translation Risk | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Kingdom of Heaven | ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ | Critical | 3:2; 4:17; 5:3-10; 12:28; 13:1-52; 19:14; 25:1-46 | ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ must never be rendered ಸ್ವರ್ಗ ರಾಜ್ಯ — ಸ್ವರ್ಗ names a merit-based, temporary Hindu paradise within the rebirth cycle. Kingdom of God (ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯ) occurrences (12:28, 19:24 par., 21:31, 21:43) must be kept referentially linked to but lexically distinct from ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ. | Human theologian |
| 2 | Jesus as the Promised Messiah and Son of David | ಮೆಸ್ಸೀಯನ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮತ್ತು ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗ | Critical | 1:1; 9:27; 15:22; 20:30-31; 21:9; 22:41-46 | Must be kept distinct from Krishna-avatar associations and from an exceptionally realized human Sharana teacher. ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗ (confessional title) vs. ದಾವೀದನ ವಂಶದಿಂದ (bare lineage) must remain lexically separate. | Human theologian |
| 3 | Fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecy | ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಯ ನೆರವೇರಿಕೆ | High | 1:22-23; 2:15,17,23; 4:14-16; 8:17; 12:17-21; 13:35; 21:4-5; 27:9 | Linear, one-time historical fulfillment via ನೆರವೇರಿಸು; must not be assimilated to cyclical yuga cosmology or Lingayat stage-by-stage ascent. | Human theologian |
| 4 | Incarnation and Virgin Birth | ದೇಹಧಾರಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ಯಾ ಜನನ | Critical | 1:18-25 | NEVER ಅವತಾರ. ಕನ್ಯೆ must never soften to ಯುವತಿ. Distinct risk for Lingayat readers (Sharana-attainment reading) and Haridasa readers (avatar reading). | Human theologian |
| 5 | Deity of Christ | ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ದೇವತ್ವ | Critical | 1:23; 3:17; 9:2-6; 14:33; 17:5; 28:9; 28:17-18 | Co-equal, undiminished divine nature; Jesus’ pronouncement of forgiveness (9:2-6) must not be flattened to mere prophetic authority. | Human theologian |
| 6 | Sonship of Christ | ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಪುತ್ರತ್ವ | Critical | 3:17; 4:3,6; 14:33; 16:16; 17:5; 26:63-64; 27:54 | Eternal, unique Sonship — must remain lexically distinct from the plural, derived “sons of God” applied to believers (5:9, 5:45). | Human theologian |
| 7 | Son of Man: Authority and Judgment | ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು | Critical | 8:20; 9:6; 12:8,40; 16:27-28; 24:27,30,37,44; 25:31; 26:64 | ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರ must not flatten to “a human being,” losing the Danielic exalted-judge sense; complementary to, not lesser than, “Son of God.” | Human theologian |
| 8 | The Authority of Jesus’ Teaching | ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬೋಧನೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರ | High | 5:21-48; 7:28-29; 21:23-27; 28:18-20 | ಅಧಿಕಾರ = inherent, self-possessed authority, distinct from guru authority derived from lineage or ascetic attainment; “you have heard… but I say” must not soften to one rabbi’s opinion. | Human theologian |
| 9 | Fulfillment of the Law | ನಿಯಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ನೆರವೇರಿಕೆ | High | 5:17-20; 22:36-40 | NEVER ಧರ್ಮ. ನಿಯಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ preserves the specific Mosaic-covenantal referent Jesus claims authority to fulfill, not abolish. | Human theologian |
| 10 | Righteousness Exceeding the Pharisees | ಫರಿಸಾಯರನ್ನು ಮೀರಿದ ನೀತಿವಂತಿಕೆ | Critical | 5:6,10,20; 6:1-18; 15:1-20; 23:1-36 | Must not read as “more meritorious religious achievement,” collapsing into the very Pharisaism critiqued or into self-attained Lingayat ascent. Spirit-produced heart-transformation, not external compliance. | Human theologian |
| 11 | Repentance | ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪ | High | 3:2,8; 4:17; 11:20-21; 12:41 | Must be distinguished from ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತ (self-performed ritual expiation/karmic offset); biblical repentance is inward, Spirit-enabled reorientation. | Human theologian |
| 12 | Baptism | ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ | Critical | 3:6,11,13-17; 28:19 | Risk of collapsing into ದೀಕ್ಷೆ, the Lingayat guru-administered iṣṭaliṅga initiation rite. Christian baptism is once-for-all identification with Christ’s death/resurrection in the Triune Name, not a guru-mediated community entry rite. | Human theologian |
| 13 | Beatitudes and Kingdom Character (Core Passage) | ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳ ರಾಜ್ಯಸ್ವಭಾವ | High | 5:1-12 | ಧನ್ಯ = God’s declared favor, not merit-badge (ಪುಣ್ಯ) or subjective happiness (ಸಂತೋಷ). “Poor in spirit” (ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಡವರು): ಆತ್ಮ must read as human inner disposition only, never Vedantic ātman/Aikya-destined soul, never conflated with ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ. | Human theologian |
| 14 | Discipleship and the Cost of Following Jesus | ಶಿಷ್ಯತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಸರಣೆಯ ಬೆಲೆ | High | 4:18-22; 8:18-22; 10:37-39; 16:24-26; 19:27-29 | ಶಿಷ್ಯ overlaps with guru-shishya paramparā vocabulary; requires standing note that Christian discipleship is single, exclusive, lifelong allegiance, not one stage in a multi-teacher path. ಶಿಲುಬೆ must retain literal shameful-execution force, not soften to ಕಷ್ಟ. | Human theologian |
| 15 | Spiritual Warfare and Temptation | ಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆತ್ಮಿಕ ಯುದ್ಧ | Medium | 4:1-11; 6:13; 13:19,38-39; 16:23 | Prefer transliterated ಸೈತಾನ over ದೆವ್ವ (generic folk ghost-spirit), to preserve Satan’s unique, singular, personal identity. | Native speaker review |
| 16 | Providence and Freedom from Anxiety | ದೇವರ ಪರಿಪಾಲನೆ | High | 6:25-34; 10:29-31 | Vulnerable to absorption into ಹಣೆಬರಹ (fatalism) or impersonal karma; must be taught as a personal Father’s purposive care. | Human theologian |
| 17 | The Lord’s Prayer and Adoption | ಕರ್ತನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮತ್ತು ದತ್ತು ಪುತ್ರತ್ವ | High | 6:9-13 | ತಂದೆ = intimate yet reverent personal Father, distinct from impersonal ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತ; daily-bread petition must avoid fatalistic framing. | Human theologian |
| 18 | Forgiveness and Grace within the Community | ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃಪೆ | High | 6:12,14-15; 18:21-35 | Must preserve grace-flows-to-grace logic (Unforgiving Servant), not a karma-style merit exchange or reciprocal payment. | Human theologian |
| 19 | The Church and Church Discipline | ಸಭೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಭಾ ಶಿಸ್ತು | High | 16:18-19; 18:15-20 | ಸಭೆ never ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ/ಮಂದಿರ; must remain visually distinct from ಮಹಾಸಭೆ (Sanhedrin, 26:59) despite shared root. Bind-and-loose requires standing note distinguishing derived church authority from folk mantra-based binding/curse rituals. | Human theologian |
| 20 | Keys of the Kingdom and Delegated Authority | ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬೀಗದ ಕೈಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿತ್ವ ಅಧಿಕಾರ | High | 16:19 | Derived, stewardship authority under Christ’s own supreme authority (7:29; 28:18) — never an independent priestly power comparable to self-attained guru authority. | Human theologian |
| 21 | Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit | ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ದೂಷಣೆ | Critical | 12:31-32 | Ties directly to ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ (never ಪರಮಾತ್ಮ). Attributing the Spirit’s clearly divine work to Satan is uniquely unforgivable; handle with maximal precision. | Human theologian |
| 22 | Transfiguration and the Glory of Christ | ರೂಪಾಂತರ ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಮೆ | High | 17:1-8 | A momentary unveiling of Christ’s already-existing glory, not a new descent or repeatable divine “form-change” as in regional devotional literature. | Human theologian |
| 23 | Resurrection of Christ | ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನ | Critical | 12:39-40; 16:21; 17:9,23; 20:19; 22:23-32; 27:62-66; 28:1-10 | NEVER ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮ. Bodily, historical, once-for-all; the sign of Jonah is a fixed foretold pattern, not a spontaneous later claim. | Human theologian |
| 24 | Atonement and Ransom | ವಿಮೋಚನಾ ಕ್ರಯ | Critical | 20:28; 26:26-28; 27:46 | Must preserve vicarious, substitutionary “in place of many” sense; must not drift toward bare-liberation reading assimilable to forbidden ಮುಕ್ತಿ/ಮೋಕ್ಷ. The cry of dereliction (27:46) must not be softened. | Human theologian |
| 25 | The New Covenant | ಹೊಸ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ | High | 26:26-29 | Reuse ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ exactly; requires OT covenant background (Jeremiah 31) for low-OT-literacy audience. | Human theologian |
| 26 | Universal Scope and Gentile Inclusion | ಸಾರ್ವತ್ರಿಕ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗದವರ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆ | High | 2:1-12; 8:5-13; 15:21-28; 28:19 | Real resonance with Lingayat anti-caste history, but must retain unqualified universality of gospel invitation without collapsing into a merely social-reform parallel. | Human theologian |
| 27 | The Great Commission | ಮಹಾ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ | Critical | 28:16-20 | ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿರಿ inherits the guru-shishya disambiguation caution. Trinitarian formula (ತಂದೆ, ಪುತ್ರ, ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ) must render exactly per baseline. | Human theologian |
| 28 | Judgment and the End of the Age | ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು ಮತ್ತು ಯುಗದ ಅಂತ್ಯ | Critical | 13:24-30,36-43,47-50; 24:1-51; 25:1-46 | AVOID building the rendering on ಯುಗ (cyclical Hindu cosmic ages). Matthew’s end is linear, one-time, final consummation. | Human theologian |
| 29 | Eternal Punishment and Hell | ನಿತ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ನರಕ | Critical | 5:22,29-30; 10:28; 18:9; 23:15,33; 25:41,46 | ನರಕ retained (no unproblematic alternative) but must be distinguished from Hindu naraka’s temporary, karma-purging function; Matthew’s γέεννα is final and irrevocable. | Human theologian |
| 30 | Eternal Life | ನಿತ್ಯ ಜೀವ | High | 19:16,29; 25:46 | Same Greek adjective αἰώνιος describes both eternal life and eternal punishment in the same verse (25:46); both must use the identical permanence-word ನಿತ್ಯ. | Human theologian |
| 31 | The Renewal of All Things | ಲೋಕದ ನವೀಕರಣ | Critical | 19:28 | NEVER any compound built on ಜನ್ಮ (birth) — high accidental-reincarnation-coinage risk from the Greek root itself. Single cosmic renewal, not a repeating cycle. | Human theologian |
| 32 | The Parousia (Second Coming) | ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಪುನರಾಗಮನ | Critical | 16:27; 24:3,27,37,39 | ಪುನರಾಗಮನ shares the “punar-” root with forbidden ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮ and with ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನ; must never be allowed to drift toward a reincarnation reading. Single, visible, bodily, historical return. | Human theologian |
| 33 | Worship of Christ | ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಆರಾಧನೆ | High | 2:2,11; 8:2; 14:33; 28:9,17 | ಆರಾಧಿಸು reserved for worship due exclusively to God/Christ; never ಪೂಜಿಸು, which would place Christ within a polytheistic puja frame. | Human theologian |
| 34 | Mercy and “the Least of These” | ಕರುಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಿರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರರು | Medium | 5:7; 9:13; 25:31-46 | Active compassion reciprocating mercy already received; must not read as a merit-earning act securing divine mercy in a karma-style bargain. | Native speaker review |
| 35 | Stewardship and Reward | ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಮತ್ತು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತಿಕೆ | Medium | 5:12; 10:41-42; 20:1-16; 25:14-30 | ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ requires a standing note guarding against a wage/merit misreading; reward is gracious fulfillment, not a separately purchased bonus. | Native speaker review |
| 36 | Human Tradition versus God’s Command | ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆ | Medium | 15:1-9 | ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ names living devotional/sectarian tradition (Haridasa/Lingayat) in Kannada religious life; must not be read as a blanket critique of tradition as such. | Native speaker review |
| 37 | Humanity of Christ | ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮಾನವತ್ವ | High | 1:1-17; 4:2; 8:24; 26:36-46 | Full, real, historical human nature (hunger, weariness, anguish) without compromising divine Sonship; not illusory appearance or a mystic’s ascent-stage. | Human theologian |
| 38 | Sin and the Forgiveness of Sins | ಪಾಪ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಪಕ್ಷಮೆ | High | 1:21; 9:2-6; 26:28 | Moral transgression before a personal God who judges and forgives, not an impersonal karmic ledger; grounded in Jesus’ own name and authority. | Human theologian |
| 39 | Faith of Gentiles and Outsiders | ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗದವರ ನಂಬಿಕೆ | High | 8:10; 15:28 | Personal trust in Jesus specifically, not ethnic pedigree or ಭಕ್ತಿ-style devotional surrender to a chosen deity. | Human theologian |
| 40 | False Prophets and Discernment | ಸುಳ್ಳು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ವಿವೇಚನೆ | Medium | 7:15-20; 24:11,24 | Standard discernment vocabulary reusing baseline ಪ್ರವಾದಿ; reinforces exclusivity of the true Messiah against counterfeit claimants. | Native speaker review |
| 41 | Thanksgiving and Praise | ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿ | Low | 11:25; 14:19; 15:36; 21:9; 26:26-27 | Standard term reused from Romans baseline; minor over-ritualization risk only. | Automated review |
| 42 | The Prophetic Office | ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾನ | Low | 1:22; 2:5; 5:12; 23:29-37 | ಪ್ರವಾದಿ reused exactly; distinguishes God’s spokesperson from ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷಿ (astrologer/fortune-teller). | Automated review |
| 43 | Christian Fellowship and Gathering | ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯತೆ | Low | 18:20 | Shared participation in Christ’s presence among gathered believers, reused exactly from Romans baseline. | Automated review |

- Review routing: Human theologian (the book’s climactic doctrinal chapter; every segment in 28:16-20 requires theologian review per escalation rules).
Part 3 — Coverage Confirmation
All 28 chapters of Matthew have been reviewed for doctrinal load-bearing content:
| Chapters | Status |
|---|---|
| 1–10, 12–28 | New or reinforcing doctrinal content logged against the Part 1 matrix, chapter-by-chapter above |
| 11 | Reviewed in full; contributes reinforcement of existing doctrines (#11 Repentance, #41 Thanksgiving) only — explicitly logged, not silently omitted |
No chapter was skipped. This chapter trace, together with the Master Doctrine Matrix in Part 1, is fully consistent with assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json: identical 44 doctrines, identical risk tiers (Critical 17 / High 19 / Medium 5 / Low 3), and identical review routing assignments. Phase 2 segment processing should load both this file and the registry together; where a segment’s doctrine tag from the registry does not appear in the chapter trace above for its cited passage, that is a flag for re-verification before translation proceeds.
Critical Risk Doctrines
The Kingdom of Heaven
Kannada name: ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ
Key terms: kingdom of heaven, kingdom of God
Review routing: Human theologian
ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ must never be rendered ಸ್ವರ್ಗ ರಾಜ್ಯ; ಸ್ವರ್ಗ names Indra’s heaven / a merit-based, temporary paradise within the Hindu cosmological rebirth cycle, from which beings return once accumulated merit is exhausted. Matthew’s kingdom is God’s in-breaking, sovereign, non-cyclical reign, entered by grace through repentance and faith, not merit accumulation.
Jesus as the Promised Messiah and Son of David
Kannada name: ಮೆಸ್ಸೀಯನ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮತ್ತು ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗ
Key terms: messiah, christ, son of David, seed of David
Review routing: Human theologian
The unique OT-promised deliverer and Davidic heir, not one of the Haridasa tradition’s Krishna-avatar associations, and not an exceptionally realized human teacher such as a Lingayat Sharana poet-saint. ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗ (living confessional title) must be kept distinct from ದಾವೀದನ ವಂಶದಿಂದ (bare lineage fact) so the act of messianic recognition remains visible.
Incarnation and Virgin Birth
Kannada name: ದೇಹಧಾರಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ಯಾ ಜನನ
Key terms: incarnation, virgin, Emmanuel, conceived
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL: NEVER ಅವತಾರ, especially salient for readers formed by coastal Karnataka’s Haridasa Krishna-bhakti tradition. Lingayat-background readers, who reject avatar theology themselves, may instead receive Christ as an exceptionally realized human Sharana figure rather than the eternal, uncreated Son uniquely taking on flesh. ಕನ್ಯೆ must never be softened to ಯುವತಿ (‘young woman’), which would undercut the miraculous virgin-conception claim.
Deity of Christ
Kannada name: ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ದೇವತ್ವ
Key terms: Emmanuel, Son of God, forgive sins, worship
Review routing: Human theologian
Co-equal, undiminished divine nature — not a divinely-elevated human teacher (the closest available Lingayat category, a Sharana who reached Aikya) and not one devotional lord among several chosen personal deities. Jesus’ own pronouncement of forgiveness (9:2-6) is an implicit but strong claim to divine identity that must not be flattened to mere prophetic authority.
Sonship of Christ
Kannada name: ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಪುತ್ರತ್ವ
Key terms: Son of God, my beloved Son, Son of the living God
Review routing: Human theologian
Eternal, unique Sonship; must be kept lexically distinct from the plural, derived ‘sons of God’ language used of believers (5:9, 5:45), which conceptually parallels adoption (ದತ್ತು ಪುತ್ರತ್ವ) rather than Christ’s own singular ದೇವರ ಮಗ status.
Son of Man: Authority and Judgment
Kannada name: ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು
Key terms: Son of Man, authority, judgment
Review routing: Human theologian
ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರ must not be flattened to mean merely ‘a human being’ (losing the Danielic exalted-judge sense from Dan 7:13-14) nor be read as implying a lesser, non-divine status compared to ‘Son of God’ — the titles are complementary, both bearing on Authority of Jesus’ Teaching and Judgment and the End of the Age.
Lordship of Christ
Kannada name: ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಕರ್ತೃತ್ವ
Key terms: Lord, lord, lord, all authority
Review routing: Human theologian
A living, presently-reigning, exclusive Lord who remains distinct from the believer in ongoing relationship — not a lord whose devotee’s ultimate destiny is to merge into and lose distinction from him, as in the Veerashaiva Aikya state. Matt 7:21-23 explicitly warns that confessing ‘Lord, Lord’ without obedience is insufficient, guarding against a merely verbal or ritual confession.
Righteousness Exceeding the Pharisees
Kannada name: ಫರಿಸಾಯರನ್ನು ಮೀರಿದ ನೀತಿವಂತಿಕೆ
Key terms: righteousness exceeds, hypocrite, pure in heart, scribes and Pharisees
Review routing: Human theologian
Must not be read as ‘more meritorious religious achievement,’ which would collapse into the very Pharisaic pattern being critiqued and into the self-attained ascent patterns baseline flags for the Lingayat shatsthala path. This is Spirit-produced heart-transformation exceeding external legal compliance. Track ಶುದ್ಧ (heart-purity contrast) as distinct from ಪವಿತ್ರ (general holiness).
Baptism
Kannada name: ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ
Key terms: baptize, baptism, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Review routing: Human theologian
ದೀಕ್ಷೆ (dīkṣā) is the specific Lingayat/Veerashaiva guru-administered initiation rite bestowing the personal iṣṭaliṅga, marking entry into that religious community’s shatsthala path. Using ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ for Christian baptism risks importing this guru-mediated, community-specific initiation framework onto a once-for-all identification with Christ’s death and resurrection administered in the Triune Name.
Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit
Kannada name: ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ದೂಷಣೆ
Key terms: blasphemy against the Spirit, unforgivable sin
Review routing: Human theologian
Ties directly to ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ (Critical risk per baseline: never ಪರಮಾತ್ಮ). Attributing the Spirit’s clearly divine work to Satan is uniquely unforgivable; must be handled with theological precision given this unparalleled severity.
Resurrection of Christ
Kannada name: ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನ
Key terms: raised, resurrection, sign of Jonah, he has risen
Review routing: Human theologian
CRITICAL: NEVER ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮ. Bodily, historical, once-for-all — the sign of Jonah (12:39-40) foretells it as a fixed pattern, not a spontaneous later claim; the Sadducee debate (22:23-32) affirms it as a real future event, not a metaphor.
Atonement and Ransom
Kannada name: ವಿಮೋಚನಾ ಕ್ರಯ
Key terms: ransom for many, my blood of the covenant, why have you forsaken me
Review routing: Human theologian
Must preserve the vicarious, substitutionary ‘in place of many’ (ಅಂತಿ ಪೊಲ್ಲೋನ್) sense of ವಿಮೋಚನಾ ಕ್ರಯ and must not drift toward a bare-liberation reading assimilable to ಮುಕ್ತಿ/ಮೋಕ್ಷ, already forbidden absolutely for ‘salvation.’ The cry of dereliction (27:46) must not be softened or explained away.
The Great Commission
Kannada name: ಮಹಾ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ
Key terms: all authority, make disciples, baptizing, teaching to observe
Review routing: Human theologian
ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿರಿ inherits the guru-shishya disambiguation caution from ಶಿಷ್ಯ — this is bringing people into exclusive allegiance to Christ through baptism and taught obedience under his ಸಮಸ್ತ ಅಧಿಕಾರ (total, universal authority), not enrolling them in a lineage-based teacher-student relationship of the regional devotional pattern. The Trinitarian formula (ತಂದೆ, ಪುತ್ರ, ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ) must be rendered exactly per baseline.
Judgment and the End of the Age
Kannada name: ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು ಮತ್ತು ಯುಗದ ಅಂತ್ಯ
Key terms: end of the age, parousia, Son of Man coming, watch
Review routing: Human theologian
AVOID building the primary rendering on ಯುಗ (yuga), the loaded Hindu cosmological term for one of a cyclically repeating sequence of cosmic ages that end only to begin again. Matthew’s ‘end of the age’ is a linear, one-time, final consummation, structured around the Olivet Discourse (ch. 24) and judgment parables (ch. 25). ಪುನರಾಗಮನ (parousia) carries an additional ‘punar-’ root collision risk with the forbidden ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮ.
Eternal Punishment and Hell
Kannada name: ನಿತ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ನರಕ
Key terms: Gehenna, hell, eternal punishment, outer darkness
Review routing: Human theologian
ನರಕ is the near-universal established Indian-language rendering, but mainstream Hindu cosmology typically treats naraka as a temporary punitive realm from which a soul is eventually released back into the rebirth cycle after karmic debt is discharged. Matthew’s γέεννα, paired with ‘eternal punishment’ (25:46), denotes a final, irrevocable destiny, not a purgatorial way-station.
The Renewal of All Things
Kannada name: ಲೋಕದ ನವೀಕರಣ
Key terms: regeneration, renewal of all things, new creation
Review routing: Human theologian
The Greek root παλιγγενεσία (πάλιν ‘again’ + γένεσις ‘birth/becoming’) makes this a prime candidate for accidental rendering with a reincarnation-adjacent Kannada compound. Never render with any compound built on ಜನ್ಮ (janma, ‘birth’); this is a single cosmic renewal at Christ’s return, not a repeating cycle.
The Parousia (Second Coming)
Kannada name: ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಪುನರಾಗಮನ
Key terms: coming, parousia, Son of Man coming on the clouds
Review routing: Human theologian
ಪುನರಾಗಮನ shares the ‘punar-’ (again) prefix with the absolutely forbidden ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮ (rebirth) and with baseline’s ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನ (resurrection); reviewers must ensure this term is never confused with, or drift toward, a reincarnation concept. Christ’s parousia is a single, visible, bodily, historical return in glory.
High Risk Doctrines
Fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecy
Kannada name: ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಯ ನೆರವೇರಿಕೆ
Key terms: fulfill, it was written, prophet, prophecy
Review routing: Human theologian
Linear, one-time historical fulfillment, using ನೆರವೇರಿಸು consistently; not the cyclical cosmic time of Hindu yuga cosmology, nor the stage-by-stage individual ascent of the Lingayat shatsthala path. Matthew’s ~16 fulfillment-formula citations (chs. 1-2, 4, 8, 12-13, 21, 27) are the single most structurally important evidence base for this doctrine.
The Authority of Jesus’ Teaching
Kannada name: ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬೋಧನೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರ
Key terms: authority, you have heard it said, but I say, all authority
Review routing: Human theologian
ಅಧಿಕಾರ must convey inherent, self-possessed authority (‘not as their scribes,’ 7:29) distinct from a guru’s authority derived from lineage, ascetic attainment, or scholarly citation. The antitheses’ formula (‘You have heard… but I say to you’) claims an authority equal to or exceeding the Torah’s own giver and must not be softened into one rabbi’s opinion among others.
Fulfillment of the Law
Kannada name: ನಿಯಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ನೆರವೇರಿಕೆ
Key terms: law, fulfill the law, not abolish
Review routing: Human theologian
NEVER ಧರ್ಮ, which carries generic Hindu caste-duty connotations and, in Karnataka specifically, the memory of the Lingayat reform movement’s explicit rejection of Brahmanical dharma. ನಿಯಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ preserves the specific Mosaic-covenantal referent Jesus claims authority to fulfill, not abolish.
Repentance
Kannada name: ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪ
Key terms: repent, repentance, bear fruit in keeping with repentance
Review routing: Human theologian
The first public word of both John and Jesus (3:2; 4:17). Must be distinguished from ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತ, the Hindu concept of self-performed ritual expiatory acts that remove sin/ritual pollution or offset karmic demerit; biblical repentance is an inward, Spirit-enabled reorientation, not a remedial act that itself atones.
Beatitudes and Kingdom Character
Kannada name: ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳ ರಾಜ್ಯಸ್ವಭಾವ
Key terms: blessed, poor in spirit, meek, merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers
Review routing: Human theologian
The curriculum’s core passage. ಧನ್ಯ must read as God’s declared favor, not a merit-badge (ಪುಣ್ಯ) or mere subjective happiness (ಸಂತೋಷ). ‘Poor in spirit’ (ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಡವರು) carries a distinct high-risk term-level collision: ಆತ್ಮ here must be read strictly as human inner disposition, never the Vedantic ātman or the Lingayat/Advaita soul destined for Aikya-merger, and never conflated with ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ (Holy Spirit).
Discipleship and the Cost of Following Jesus
Kannada name: ಶಿಷ್ಯತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಸರಣೆಯ ಬೆಲೆ
Key terms: disciple, follow, take up his cross, deny himself
Review routing: Human theologian
ಶಿಷ್ಯ is also the exact term for a student in the guru-shishya paramparā of Hindu, Haridasa-bhakti, and Lingayat tradition, where a disciple may study under several gurus and progress toward personal spiritual attainment. Christian discipleship is a single, exclusive, costly, lifelong allegiance to one Lord, not one stage in a multi-teacher spiritual journey; ಶಿಲುಬೆ (cross) must retain its literal, shameful, voluntarily-taken-up sense, not soften into generic hardship (ಕಷ್ಟ).
Providence and Freedom from Anxiety
Kannada name: ದೇವರ ಪರಿಪಾಲನೆ
Key terms: do not be anxious, your heavenly Father knows, daily bread
Review routing: Human theologian
God’s personal, purposive care for his children is vulnerable to being absorbed into ಹಣೆಬರಹ (fatalism, literally ‘forehead-writing’) or the impersonal law of karma, both common everyday Kannada explanatory frameworks for why things happen; must be taught as a personal Father’s care, not an unchangeable pre-written fate.
The Lord’s Prayer and Adoption
Kannada name: ಕರ್ತನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮತ್ತು ದತ್ತು ಪುತ್ರತ್ವ
Key terms: Our Father, your kingdom come, daily bread, forgive us our debts
Review routing: Human theologian
ತಂದೆ conveys the intimate yet reverent personal Father, distinct from an impersonal creator-principle (ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತ) and grounding the adoption doctrine already Critical/High in the Romans baseline; the daily-bread petition must avoid fatalistic framing.
Forgiveness and Grace within the Community
Kannada name: ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃಪೆ
Key terms: forgive, debts, seventy times seven, unforgiving servant
Review routing: Human theologian
The Unforgiving Servant parable ties forgiveness received from God to forgiveness required among believers; must preserve a grace-flows-to-grace logic, not a karma-style merit exchange or reciprocal payment, consistent with the baseline’s grace-vs-merit caution.
The Church and Church Discipline
Kannada name: ಸಭೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಭಾ ಶಿಸ್ತು
Key terms: church, tell it to the church, bind and loose
Review routing: Human theologian
Matt 16:18 (‘I will build my church’) and 18:15-20 (the discipline procedure) are foundational, normative texts. ಸಭೆ must never be rendered ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ/ಮಂದಿರ, and must be kept visually distinct from ಮಹಾಸಭೆ (the Jewish Sanhedrin, 26:59) despite the shared root. Bind-and-loose language requires a mandatory note distinguishing derived, corporate, restoration-oriented church authority from folk-religious mantra-based binding/curse-release practices.
Keys of the Kingdom and Delegated Authority
Kannada name: ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬೀಗದ ಕೈಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿತ್ವ ಅಧಿಕಾರ
Key terms: keys of the kingdom, bind on earth, loose on earth
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be understood as derived, stewardship authority under Christ’s own supreme, underived authority (7:29; 28:18), never as an independent priestly power comparable to a guru’s self-attained spiritual authority.
Transfiguration and the Glory of Christ
Kannada name: ರೂಪಾಂತರ ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಮೆ
Key terms: transfigured, glory, beloved Son
Review routing: Human theologian
A momentary revelatory unveiling of Christ’s already-existing divine glory, not a new descent or a repeatable divine ‘form-change’ narrative of the kind familiar from regional devotional literature (cf. baseline’s ಅವತಾರ caution).
The New Covenant
Kannada name: ಹೊಸ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ
Key terms: covenant, this is my blood of the covenant
Review routing: Human theologian
Reuse ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ exactly; instituted in Christ’s own blood at the Last Supper, directly connected to the ransom saying (20:28) and to Jeremiah 31’s new-covenant promise, requiring OT covenant background for a low-OT-literacy audience.
Universal Scope and Gentile Inclusion
Kannada name: ಸಾರ್ವತ್ರಿಕ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗದವರ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆ
Key terms: Magi, centurion’s faith, Canaanite woman, all nations
Review routing: Human theologian
The gospel’s reach to Gentiles (Magi, a Roman centurion, a Canaanite woman) has real resonance with the Lingayat reform movement’s own historic rejection of caste hierarchy in religious life, even though caste distinctions persist socially in Karnataka; retain the unqualified universality of the invitation without softening it into a merely social-reform parallel.
Eternal Life
Kannada name: ನಿತ್ಯ ಜೀವ
Key terms: eternal life, enter life
Review routing: Human theologian
The same Greek adjective αἰώνιος describes both eternal life and eternal punishment in the identical verse (25:46); both must be rendered with the same underlying permanence-word (ನಿತ್ಯ) so the parallel remains visible, not treated as ‘a long time’ for one and ‘forever’ for the other.
Worship of Christ
Kannada name: ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಆರಾಧನೆ
Key terms: worship, they worshiped him
Review routing: Human theologian
ಆರಾಧಿಸು must be reserved for worship due exclusively to God/Christ; must not be rendered ಪೂಜಿಸು, which would place Christ as one worship-object among several in a polytheistic frame, especially salient given Karnataka’s active devotional puja practice across multiple traditions.
Humanity of Christ
Kannada name: ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮಾನವತ್ವ
Key terms: genealogy, hungered, wept, agony, Gethsemane
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s full, real, historical human nature, including genuine hunger, weariness, and anguish, without compromising his divine Sonship; must not be read as illusory appearance nor merely a stage in a mystic’s ascent narrative.
Sin and the Forgiveness of Sins
Kannada name: ಪಾಪ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಪಕ್ಷಮೆ
Key terms: save his people from their sins, your sins are forgiven, forgiveness of sins
Review routing: Human theologian
Moral transgression before a personal God who judges and forgives, not an impersonal ledger of karmic demerit; Jesus’ name itself (1:21) and his direct pronouncement of forgiveness (9:2-6) ground this doctrine in his own person and authority.
Faith of Gentiles and Outsiders
Kannada name: ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗದವರ ನಂಬಿಕೆ
Key terms: such great faith, great is your faith
Review routing: Human theologian
Personal trust in Jesus specifically, not ethnic/covenant pedigree or the devotional surrender (ಭಕ್ತಿ) directed toward a chosen deity in Haridasa-bhakti or Lingayat devotion; faith, not birth or spiritual attainment, is the operative category.
Medium Risk Doctrines
Spiritual Warfare and Temptation
Kannada name: ಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆತ್ಮಿಕ ಯುದ್ಧ
Key terms: tempt, temptation, the devil, the evil one
Review routing: Native speaker review
ದೆವ್ವ (devva) is the generic Kannada folk-religious word for a malevolent ghost/spirit and risks reducing Satan to one of many local spirit-beings; prefer the transliterated ಸೈತಾನ to preserve his unique, singular identity as the real, personal chief adversary, not an impersonal evil force or karmic principle.
Mercy and ‘the Least of These’
Kannada name: ಕರುಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಿರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರರು
Key terms: merciful, the least of these brothers
Review routing: Native speaker review
Active compassion reciprocating mercy already received must not be read as a merit-earning act that itself secures divine mercy in a karma-style bargain; keep the fruit-of-grace framing visible.
Stewardship and Reward
Kannada name: ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಮತ್ತು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತಿಕೆ
Key terms: reward, talents, vineyard workers
Review routing: Native speaker review
ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ requires a standing note guarding against a wage/merit misreading; the reward in view is the gracious fulfillment of what has already been declared, not a separately earned bonus purchasing Kingdom entry.
Human Tradition versus God’s Command
Kannada name: ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆ
Key terms: tradition of the elders, commandment of God
Review routing: Native speaker review
ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ is an active word in Kannada religious life denoting living devotional/sectarian tradition (e.g., Haridasa or Lingayat ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ); ensure the specific contrast Jesus draws (divine command vs. human tradition) is not misread as a blanket critique of tradition as such.
False Prophets and Discernment
Kannada name: ಸುಳ್ಳು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ವಿವೇಚನೆ
Key terms: false prophets, by their fruits, false christs
Review routing: Native speaker review
Standard discernment vocabulary (ಸುಳ್ಳು ಪ್ರವಾದಿ reuses baseline ಪ್ರವಾದಿ); reinforces the exclusivity of the true Messiah against counterfeit claimants.
Low Risk Doctrines
Thanksgiving and Praise
Kannada name: ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿ
Key terms: gave thanks, hosanna
Review routing: Automated review
Standard term reused from the Romans baseline; minor risk of over-ritualization only.
The Prophetic Office
Kannada name: ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾನ
Key terms: prophet, prophets before you
Review routing: Automated review
ಪ್ರವಾದಿ, reused exactly from baseline; distinguishes God’s spokesperson from a fortune-teller/astrologer (ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷಿ). Low ambiguity risk given the established rendering.
Christian Fellowship and Gathering
Kannada name: ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯತೆ
Key terms: gathered in my name, two or three
Review routing: Automated review
Shared participation in Christ’s presence among gathered believers, reused exactly from the Romans baseline; not merely social or caste-community association.
