This glossary consolidates every load-bearing term identified in 07_semantic_analysis.md. Terms marked [Baseline reuse] are already established in the Romans/Galatians translation_memory.json and bible_term_registry.json and MUST be rendered exactly as recorded there. All other terms are [New — Malachi] entries proposed for addition to the Language Package’s translation memory, pending the same theologian/native-speaker review routing used in the baseline.

CRITICAL — must never be interchanged with यहोवा (the Tetragrammaton) even though both occur within this same verse; English ‘LORD’/‘Lord’ capitalization conventions obscure that these are two distinguishable Hebrew referring expressions.

Must remain lexically distinct from यहोवा (the personal covenant name, used ~24 times in this book’s ‘says the LORD of hosts’ formula) — Malachi’s argument frequently trades on the personal, covenantal specificity of יהוה rather than the generic divine title.

Father

Inherited from Romans package. God as personal Father; never Hindu creator-deity names. Malachi extension: Malachi 1:6 and 2:10 use פִיתא/אָב in a distinct but related sense — shared creaturely fatherhood grounding interpersonal covenant fidelity (‘have we not all one father?’) — rather than the Romans adoption-into-sonship doctrine specifically. Keep both senses distinguishable in accompanying notes; do not conflate one_father_one_god with the baseline adoption doctrine.

Atonement Curse Bearing
