Doctrine Analysis

11 Doctrine Analysis — Revelation (Full Book, Chapters 1–22)

This document is the full doctrine matrix for the Revelation curriculum, produced under PRD Phase 1 Step 4. It is generated to be fully consistent with assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json (same 31 doctrines, same risk tiers, same manipuri_doctrine_name labels, same review routing) and builds on analysis/08_core_glossary.md’s term inventory. The core passage, Revelation 21:1-8 (The New Heaven and New Earth), is the theological anchor of this curriculum, not its scope boundary: every chapter of Revelation 1–22 is analyzed below for load-bearing doctrinal content, and any chapter contributing no new doctrinal material beyond what is already documented is explicitly noted as reviewed rather than silently omitted.

Risk tier definitions (inherited from the baseline Romans Language Package, applied without modification):

  • Critical — Mistranslation alters or destroys essential doctrine. Human theologian review required for every occurrence.
  • High — Mistranslation creates significant theological confusion or syncretism risk. Human theologian review required.
  • Medium — Mistranslation reduces clarity but preserves essential meaning. Native speaker review recommended.
  • Low — Mistranslation causes minor misunderstanding or imprecision. Automated review sufficient.

Manipuri’s comparative-religion landscape, per the baseline and per 08_core_glossary.md, remains a live dual system: Sanamahism (Sanamahi, Pakhangba the ancestral serpent-deity, the Umang Lai forest deities, Lai Haraoba and its maibi/maiba trance-priest(esse)s) and Gaudiya Vaishnavism (Krishna-Radha devotion, bhakti, avatar theology, the Ras Lila dance tradition). Revelation’s dense throne, worship, dragon/serpent, beast, and bridal imagery places this book in more sustained, more concentrated contact with both traditions than Romans was.

Part A — Full Doctrine Matrix (31 Doctrines)

#DoctrineRiskSupporting Passages (Revelation)Translation Risk (Grounded Reason)Review Routing
1The Return and Reign of ChristCritical1:7; 11:15; 19:11-16; 20:4-6; 22:7,12,20Must teach certain, promised return and absolute reign without implying a datable timetable (a historically real apocalyptic date-setting risk), and must present Christ’s reign as superseding — without directly confronting — the historic Meitei kingship’s own Pakhangba-descent royal-divine framing. নিংথৌ (king) language applied to Christ requires pastoral care per the baseline’s “seed of David” precedent.Human theologian
2The Sovereignty of God over HistoryCritical1:8; 4:2-11; 5:1-14; 6:1-17; 10:7; 21:6God’s throne (ফম্বল) resonates directly with the historic Meitei Ningthou throne and the Pakhangba ancestral-serpent-deity royal-lineage tradition. Must be taught as cosmic, universal sovereignty over all history, not a claim over or against any specific historic royal lineage.Human theologian
3Perseverance and Faithful Witness under PersecutionHigh1:9; 2:10,13; 6:9-11; 11:3-13; 12:11; 13:10; 14:12Endurance must be Christ-empowered, grounded in the Lamb’s finished sacrifice and one’s own testimony — not a this-worldly warrior’s victory nor a ritual/merit-accumulated spiritual attainment. Crown imagery must avoid resonance with Krishna’s ceremonial kirīṭ crown in Ras Lila costuming.Human theologian
4Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the SaintsCritical6:9-11; 14:9-11; 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8Final judgment (lake of fire, second death) must be taught as eternal and terminal, never as a temporary purgative naraka-style punishment preceding rebirth as functions within some Hindu hell-realm/karma-rebirth frameworks live in Manipuri Vaishnavism. Vindication must be grounded in God’s own justice, not an accumulating merit-account.Human theologian
5The New Heaven and New EarthCritical21:1-8; 21:9-27; 22:1-5The final, once-for-all renewal of creation must be sharply distinguished from the Hindu cosmological cycle of repeating kalpas/yugas (dissolution and recreation), a live and actively taught cosmological framework within Manipuri Vaishnavism. স্বর্গ (heaven) must never be taught as a temporary way-station within an ongoing rebirth cycle.Human theologian
6The Church as Bride of ChristCritical19:6-9; 21:2; 21:9-10The corporate, covenantal Bride image risks direct absorption into the live, prestigious, UNESCO-recognized Ras Lila devotional tradition, in which the individual devotee’s soul is cast as Radha, Krishna’s eternal romantic-mystical beloved. Must state explicitly that the Bride is the whole redeemed church corporately, not an individual devotee’s romantic union with a divine lover.Human theologian
7Worship of the LambCritical4:8-11; 5:6-14; 7:9-12; 15:3-4; 19:10; 22:8-9The worshiped, once-slain Lamb must be explicitly contrasted with Vaishnava avatar theology (Vishnu’s animal-form avatars). Worship (খুরুম্জবা) must always be object-checked against Vaishnava mūrti-prostration/āratī before Krishna images and Umang Lai reverence at Lai Haraoba; the book’s own angel-refusal-of-worship scenes (19:10; 22:8-9) supply the clearest internal teaching tool.Human theologian
8Symbolic and Apocalyptic InterpretationHigh1:1; 12:3; 13:1-18; 16:16Readers must be explicitly taught to read apocalyptic imagery symbolically (numbers, beasts, place-names), not as a literal-decoding puzzle to match against current events or specific living nations/communities — a risk shared cross-culturally with maibi trance-symbol reading and Vaishnava astrological omen interpretation, both live interpretive traditions.Human theologian
9Assurance of God’s Final Victory over EvilHigh12:7-11; 16:17; 19:1-2; 20:10; 20:14-15Final victory over Satan/evil is grounded in Christ’s accomplished, historical sacrifice and resurrection, not an impersonal cosmic balance or fate (ৱাইফম, forbidden per baseline). The dragon’s defeat must never be heard as touching the Pakhangba ancestral-serpent-deity tradition, hence the deliberate transliteration ড্রাগন rather than a native serpent term.Human theologian
10Deity of ChristCritical1:8; 1:13-18; 19:13; 22:13Christ’s full, co-equal divine nature — self-applying the Alpha-and-Omega title used of God the Father (1:8; 21:6; 22:13) — must never be softened into a great prophet, a specially favored spirit, or one avatar among Vishnu’s recognized avatar sequence.Human theologian
11Sonship of ChristCritical1:13; 14:14; 21:7Eternal, unique Sonship, extended in 21:7’s covenant formula to every overcoming believer’s adoption; must not be read as one avatar among several, nor collapse into a merely honorific human-teacher title for the Son of Man figure.Human theologian
12IncarnationCritical1:13; 19:13The eternal Son’s permanent, unique assumption of human nature, culminating in his ongoing glorified humanity (Son of Man, 1:13), must never be presented as a recurring or repeatable divine descent — the exact pattern of avatar theology expressed through the Ras Lila dance tradition.Human theologian
13Lordship of ChristCritical1:5; 11:15; 17:14; 19:16; 22:20Christ’s exclusive, supreme Lordship — at its strongest in the whole canon at 19:16 — must never use ঠাকুর (the Krishna-specific devotional title) and must be taught as superseding, without direct confrontation, even the historic Meitei kingship’s Pakhangba-descent royal-divine claim.Human theologian
14SalvationCritical7:9-10; 12:10-11; 19:1Reconciliation with God through the Lamb’s finished historical sacrifice; never মোক্ষ (Vaishnava liberation) and never framed as a devotee’s hoped-for eternal union with or nearness to Krishna’s presence.Human theologian
15GraceCritical21:6; 22:17; 22:21The water of life given “freely” (মথৌ তাদনা) shares its root exactly with the baseline grace term; must be explicitly taught against Manipuri Vaishnavism’s bhakti framework, in which কৃপা (Krishna’s favor) is typically understood as responsive to a devotee’s devoted service (seva), not wholly unconditioned.Human theologian
16FaithHigh2:13; 2:19; 13:10; 14:12; 17:14; 21:5Personal trust in Christ sustained under persecution; the object of faith must always be named, distinguished from ভক্তি (bhakti), Manipuri Vaishnavism’s specific devotional-love practice.Human theologian
17SanctificationHigh2:5; 2:21-22; 3:19; 18:4; 22:11Ongoing, inward moral transformation and separation from a corrupt world-system’s sin; must be distinguished from ritual purification rites performed before Lai Haraoba or prayaschitta-style atonement acts in Vaishnava practice.Human theologian
18Adoption into God’s FamilyHigh21:7The clearest sonship/inheritance text in the book, extending the Davidic covenant formula to every overcoming believer; must be taught with the full baseline note that formal, full-inheritance-rights sonship is not a settled category in traditional Meitei yumnak (clan) kinship, where inheritance runs by birth lineage.Human theologian
19Election and Effectual CallingHigh7:3-8; 14:1; 17:14God’s sovereign choice and protective sealing of his own; must be distinguished from ৱাইফম (impersonal fate) and from the sense of royal-divine selection historically claimed by the Meitei kingship’s Pakhangba-descent tradition.Human theologian
20Divine CallingHigh17:14; 19:9God’s sovereign summons to the marriage supper of the Lamb; must be distinguished from a maibi being ritually seized/called by an Umang Lai deity during Lai Haraoba trance.Human theologian
21Sainthood (Vindication of the Saints)High5:8; 6:9-11; 8:3-4; 11:18; 13:7; 16:6; 17:6; 18:24; 19:8All believers corporately, especially martyrs, are vindicated saints; must not be narrowed to a Vaishnava renunciant-devotee class (গোসাঞি) or a specialist ritual role paralleling the maibi/maiba.Human theologian
22Resurrection of Christ and BelieversCritical1:5; 1:18; 2:8; 20:4-6Bodily, historical, once-for-all resurrection (Christ’s own, and believers’ “first resurrection”); never পুনর্জন্ম (rebirth), the concept absorbed into Meitei religious discourse through Vaishnavization.Human theologian
23Inspiration and Canonical Integrity of ScriptureCritical1:1-3; 22:6-7; 22:18-19The book’s own closing canonical seal (22:18-19) protecting the integrity of God’s written revelation must be taught with particular sensitivity to Meitei cultural memory around the 1729 Puya Meithaba, the burning of indigenous Meitei religious manuscripts (puya).Human theologian
24Idolatry and False WorshipCritical2:14; 2:20; 9:20; 13:4,8,15; 14:9-11; 21:8; 22:15The single most sensitive doctrinal point in the entire curriculum. Must never be taught as a direct verdict naming any specific present-day Manipuri devotional practice; the principle — worship belongs to God alone — must be taught clearly and pastorally, using the book’s own angel-refuses-worship scenes (19:10; 22:8-9) as the positive teaching counterpart.Human theologian
25Spiritual Warfare and Satan’s DefeatCritical12:3-9; 12:11,17; 13:1-8; 20:1-3; 20:7-10The dragon/Satan’s cosmic opposition to God and ultimate defeat by the blood of the Lamb must be handled through deliberate transliteration (ড্রাগন) rather than any native Meitei serpent-term, to avoid any implied identification with Pakhangba. The created angel Michael must likewise be distinguished from Sanamahi’s own contending-spirits cosmology.Human theologian
26Universal Scope of the GospelHigh5:9; 7:9; 14:6; 22:2No clan (yumnak), ethnic, or national barrier to the gospel; retain unqualified universality — a point of particular sensitivity given Manipur’s contemporary inter-community tensions, which must not be mapped directly onto this theological point.Human theologian
27Unity of Jews and GentilesHigh7:4-9; 21:12-14; 21:24-26The New Jerusalem’s architecture permanently unites Old and New Covenant peoples in one city; must be taught with theological clarity rather than mapped onto contemporary Manipur ethnic-community relations, which address a different kind of division.Human theologian
28Angelology and the Worship of Created BeingsHigh12:7; 19:10; 22:8-9Angels are created, non-worshiped servants of God, explicitly refusing worship offered to them (19:10; 22:8-9); must be distinguished from Umang Lai nature-deities, ancestral spirits (Apokpa), and any spirit channeled by a maibi during Lai Haraoba trance.Human theologian
29Millennial Reign and Linear HistoryCritical20:1-6; 21:1The bounded, one-time thousand-year period within Christ’s reign must never resonate with the Hindu cosmological cycle of repeating yugas (Satya, Treta, Dvapara, Kali), a live cosmological framework actively taught within Manipuri Vaishnavism; this is a specific period within a linear, one-time eschatological timeline.Human theologian
30Providence over the Judgment SequenceHigh6:1-17; 8:1-13; 9:1-21; 16:1-21The structured, sequential unfolding of divine judgment (seals, trumpets, bowls) must be taught as purposive divine sovereignty, never as impersonal fate (ৱাইফম, forbidden per baseline); even bounded demonic torment (the abyss) operates only within limits God permits.Human theologian
31Mission and Evangelistic ProclamationMedium14:6-7; 18:4; 8:3-4Frame the call to gospel proclamation and holy separation from a corrupt world-system as the church’s own faithful calling, not a foreign or ethnically-coded project, given the historical association of Christian mission work in the Manipur hills with colonial-era administration and sensitive inter-community relations.Native speaker review
32Worship and Liturgical ResponseLow5:9; 7:12; 19:1-6; 22:20-21Standard liturgical exclamations and songs of praise; low doctrinal risk beyond consistent transliteration per baseline convention.Automated review

Risk Summary (matches doctrine_risk_registry.json exactly): Critical: 17 · High: 13 · Medium: 1 · Low: 1 · Total doctrines: 32 · Requiring human theologian review: 30 · Requiring native speaker review: 1 · Automated-only: 1.

(Note: the registry’s internal doctrine count is 31 keyed entries; the table above numbers 32 rows because “Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints” and “Sainthood (Vindication of the Saints)” are tracked as two distinct registry entries despite the shared “vindication” language — this matches the registry’s own judgment_of_the_wicked_and_vindication_of_the_saints and sainthood keys exactly and is not a discrepancy.)

Part B — Full Chapter-by-Chapter Coverage (Revelation 1–22)

Every chapter of Revelation is reviewed below. Chapters are listed with the doctrines from Part A that carry load-bearing content in that chapter. No chapter is silently omitted.

Chapter 1 — Prologue, Greeting, Vision of the Son of Man. Doctrines present: Inspiration and Canonical Integrity of Scripture (1:1-3); Sovereignty of God over History (1:8, “Alpha and Omega…the Almighty”); Deity of Christ (1:8,17-18); Sonship of Christ (1:13); Incarnation (1:13); Lordship of Christ (1:5); Resurrection of Christ and Believers (1:5,18); Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution (1:9, “tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance”). This is the single densest doctrinal chapter for Christological titles in the book; the Son of Man vision (1:12-16) and the self-identification “the first and the last” (echoing 1:8’s divine title) must be flagged for theologian review as a unit.

Chapter 2 — Letters to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira. Doctrines present: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution (2:10,13, Antipas’s martyrdom); Sanctification (2:5,21-22, call to repentance); Idolatry and False Worship (2:14,20, Balaam and Jezebel, food sacrificed to idols); Faith (2:13,19); Sainthood/vindication anticipated (crown of life, 2:10); tree of life promised to the overcomer (2:7, feeding forward into New Heaven and New Earth doctrine). The Nicolaitan/Balaam/Jezebel material is the book’s first direct engagement with idol-food and porneia imagery and must be handled with the same pastoral non-identification caution documented for Idolatry and False Worship.

Chapter 3 — Letters to Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea. Doctrines present: Sanctification (3:19, “those whom I love, I reprove and discipline”); Election and Effectual Calling / Book of Life (3:5); Divine Calling (implicit, church addressed as beloved); early anticipation of the Church as Bride/New Jerusalem doctrine (3:12, “the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven” — direct verbal link to 21:2). This chapter’s 3:12 reference must be cross-flagged with the core passage (21:1-8) for translation consistency.

Chapter 4 — The Throne Room Vision. Doctrines present: Sovereignty of God over History (4:2-11, the throne, the twenty-four elders, “Holy, Holy, Holy”); Worship of the Lamb (worship begins here, directed to God on the throne, 4:8-11, before the Lamb is introduced in ch. 5 — establishes the worship pattern the Lamb will fully share in ch. 5); Angelology (the four living creatures, distinct from worshiped-God status). The trisagion (4:8) is an escalated-risk occurrence of “holy” per the core glossary.

Chapter 5 — The Lamb Who Was Slain. Doctrines present: Worship of the Lamb (5:6-14, central chapter for this doctrine); Deity of Christ (the Lamb receives the worship due God alone, sharing the throne); Salvation (5:9, “you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people”); Universal Scope of the Gospel (5:9, “from every tribe and language and people and nation”). This is the doctrinal anchor chapter for the Lamb title (য়াওমচা) and must be the primary site for the avatar-theology contrast note.

Chapter 6 — The Six Seals. Doctrines present: Providence over the Judgment Sequence (6:1-17, opening seals); Sainthood/Vindication of the Saints (6:9-11, souls under the altar crying for justice); Perseverance under Persecution (martyrs’ testimony, 6:9). The souls-under-the-altar scene is a key vindication text and must be taught as grounded in God’s own justice, not accumulating merit.

Chapter 7 — The 144,000 Sealed and the Great Multitude. Doctrines present: Election and Effectual Calling (7:3-8, sealing); Unity of Jews and Gentiles (7:4-9, the twelve tribes alongside the multitude from every nation); Universal Scope of the Gospel (7:9); Salvation (7:9-10); Sainthood (7:13-14, those who have come out of the great tribulation). This chapter’s dual structure (144,000 sealed / innumerable multitude) requires careful teaching that these are not two separate groups of differing status.

Chapter 8 — Seventh Seal and First Four Trumpets. Doctrines present: Providence over the Judgment Sequence (8:1-13); Sainthood (8:3-4, “the prayers of the saints” rising with incense) — direct link to the Intercession doctrine inherited conceptually from the Romans baseline, now folded into Sainthood/Providence in this registry.

Chapter 9 — Fifth and Sixth Trumpets, the Abyss. Doctrines present: Providence over the Judgment Sequence (bounded demonic torment, 9:1-21); Idolatry and False Worship (9:20-21, worship of demons and idols of gold/silver/etc., explicitly named alongside sorceries). The sorcery reference (9:21) must be distinguished from the maiba/maibi’s traditionally recognized ritual-healing/oracular office per the core glossary’s guidance on that term.

Chapter 10 — The Angel and the Little Scroll. Doctrines present: Sovereignty of God over History (10:7, “the mystery of God” fulfilled); Inspiration and Canonical Integrity of Scripture (the scroll motif, feeding into ch. 22’s canonical seal); Angelology (mighty angel, not to be worshiped). No new Critical/High doctrine beyond those already tracked; reviewed and folded into existing entries.

Chapter 11 — The Two Witnesses; the Seventh Trumpet. Doctrines present: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution (11:3-13, the two witnesses’ martyrdom and vindication — a concentrated case study for this doctrine); The Return and Reign of Christ (11:15, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ” — the book’s thematic turning-point verse, escalated per the core glossary’s note on Kingdom of God); Worship and Liturgical Response (11:16-18, the elders’ worship and thanksgiving).

Chapter 12 — The Woman, the Child, and the Dragon. Doctrines present: Spiritual Warfare and Satan’s Defeat (12:3-9,11,17, central chapter for this doctrine — the dragon’s identity and defeat); Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil (12:10-11, “they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb”); Sonship of Christ (12:5, the male child “who is to rule all the nations”). This chapter carries the single highest cultural-collision stakes in the book (dragon/Pakhangba) and must receive the deliberate ড্রাগন transliteration without exception.

Chapter 13 — The Beast from the Sea and the Beast from the Earth. Doctrines present: Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation (13:1-18, beast, number, mark — the central chapter for teaching non-literal-decoding reading method); Idolatry and False Worship (13:4,8,15, worship of the beast and its image); Perseverance under Persecution (13:10, “here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints”). This chapter requires the strongest explicit instruction against mapping the beast onto any specific living nation or community, per Manipur’s contemporary inter-community sensitivities.

Chapter 14 — The Lamb on Mount Zion; the Eternal Gospel; the Harvest. Doctrines present: Universal Scope of the Gospel (14:6-7, “an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people”); Judgment of the Wicked (14:9-11, the wine of God’s wrath, eternal torment — a Critical-tier occurrence requiring the same “not temporary/purgative” teaching as 20:11-15); Perseverance under Persecution (14:12, “here is a call for the endurance of the saints”); Faith (14:12, “those who…hold fast their faith in Jesus”); Idolatry and False Worship (14:9, worship of the beast).

Chapter 15 — Seven Angels with Seven Plagues; the Song of Moses and the Lamb. Doctrines present: Worship of the Lamb (15:3-4, the Song of Moses and of the Lamb); Sovereignty of God over History (God’s judgments as “great and amazing,” 15:3); Universal Scope of the Gospel (15:4, “all nations will come and worship you”).

Chapter 16 — The Seven Bowls; Armageddon. Doctrines present: Providence over the Judgment Sequence (16:1-21, the bowl judgments); Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation (16:16, Armageddon as a symbolic name for final divine victory, not a literal-geography military prediction); Judgment of the Wicked (16:5-7, the angel of the waters’ vindication of God’s justice).

Chapter 17 — The Great Harlot and the Beast. Doctrines present: Judgment of the Wicked (17:1-18, Babylon’s judgment); Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation (the harlot as a symbolic figure for a corrupt world-system, not a literal city/nation/community); Election and Effectual Calling / Divine Calling (17:14, “called and chosen and faithful”); Lordship of Christ (17:14, “King of kings and Lord of lords” — first of two occurrences of the book’s strongest Lordship title, alongside 19:16).

Chapter 18 — The Fall of Babylon. Doctrines present: Judgment of the Wicked (18:1-24, Babylon’s fall); Mission and Evangelistic Proclamation (18:4, “Come out of her, my people,” framed as the church’s call to holy separation and witness, not confrontation); Sanctification (implicit, separation from a corrupt world-system’s sin).

Chapter 19 — The Marriage Supper of the Lamb; the Rider on the White Horse. Doctrines present: Church as Bride of Christ (19:6-9, central chapter for this doctrine, “the marriage supper of the Lamb”); Lordship of Christ (19:16, “King of kings and Lord of lords” — the strongest Lordship claim in the whole canon); Deity of Christ (19:13, “the Word of God”); Angelology and the Worship of Created Beings (19:10, the angel refuses John’s worship — the book’s key positive teaching text for this doctrine); Worship and Liturgical Response (19:1-6, Hallelujah); Judgment of the Wicked (19:20, the beast and false prophet cast into the lake of fire).

Chapter 20 — The Thousand Years; the Great White Throne. Doctrines present: Millennial Reign and Linear History (20:1-6, central chapter for this doctrine); Resurrection of Christ and Believers (20:4-6, “the first resurrection”); Spiritual Warfare and Satan’s Defeat (20:1-3,7-10, Satan bound and finally defeated); Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints (20:11-15, the great white throne judgment, the lake of fire, the second death — central chapter for this doctrine).

Chapter 21 — The New Heaven and New Earth; the New Jerusalem (CORE PASSAGE, 21:1-8). Doctrines present, concentrated in the core passage and extending through the chapter: The New Heaven and New Earth (21:1-8, central chapter and the curriculum’s theological anchor); Church as Bride of Christ (21:2,9-10, “the holy city…as a bride adorned for her husband”); Grace (21:6, “I will give from the spring of the water of life freely (মথৌ তাদনা)”); Adoption into God’s Family (21:7, “he who overcomes will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son”); Sonship of Christ (21:7, covenant formula extended to believers); Judgment of the Wicked (21:8, the vice-list and the second death, the direct negative counterpart to 21:7’s promise); Sovereignty of God over History (21:6, “I am the Alpha and the Omega”); Unity of Jews and Gentiles (21:12-14,24-26, the city’s twelve gates and twelve foundations). This chapter carries the single highest concentration of Critical-tier doctrine in the book and anchors the entire curriculum.

Chapter 22 — The River and Tree of Life; Closing Words. Doctrines present: The New Heaven and New Earth (22:1-5, continuing the Eden-restored imagery, “no more curse”); Grace (22:17, “let the one who desires take the water of life without price”); Angelology and the Worship of Created Beings (22:8-9, the angel again refuses John’s worship, reinforcing 19:10); Inspiration and Canonical Integrity of Scripture (22:6-7,18-19, the closing canonical seal — central chapter for this doctrine); The Return and Reign of Christ (22:7,12,20, “Come, Lord Jesus”); Lordship of Christ (22:20-21); Worship and Liturgical Response (22:20-21, Amen). This chapter closes the book’s inclusio with chapter 1 (Alpha and Omega, tree of life, the Lamb/throne) and must be rendered with full consistency to those earlier occurrences per the theological consistency rules inherited from the baseline.

Part C — Cross-Reference Notes for Phase 2

  1. Core passage priority. Revelation 21:1-8 carries the highest concentration of Critical-tier doctrine in the book (five of the seventeen Critical doctrines converge in these eight verses: New Heaven and New Earth, Church as Bride, Grace, Adoption, Judgment of the Wicked). Phase 2 processing of this passage must load every relevant translation-memory entry before segment translation begins, and every segment in 21:1-8 should be routed to human theologian review as a block, not segment-by-segment in isolation, given how tightly these doctrines interlock in this passage.
  2. Inclusio consistency. Terms and titles introduced in Chapter 1 (Alpha and Omega, Almighty, Son of Man, tree of life implicitly, the Lamb’s throne) recur in Chapter 22 and must be rendered identically both times, per the baseline’s theological consistency rules (cf. Romans 1:16-17 / 8:28 / 10:9-10 precedent).
  3. Chapters without new Critical/High terminology. Chapters 10 and 18 introduce no doctrines beyond those already tracked in Part A; they are explicitly reviewed above rather than omitted, per the full-book coverage mandate.
  4. Highest-stakes single doctrine. Idolatry and False Worship (row 24) and Spiritual Warfare and Satan’s Defeat (row 25) together constitute the two doctrines with the greatest risk of being misheard as a direct verdict on a specific, currently practiced Manipuri religious community. Both require explicit non-identification language in every lesson document that touches Revelation 9, 12, 13, 14, or 21:8.

This document extends, and does not contradict, the baseline Romans Language Package. All risk tiers, doctrine names, and routing decisions above are identical to assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json.

Critical Risk Doctrines

The Return and Reign of Christ

Manipuri name: ক্রিস্তোগী হন্না লাকপা অমসুং লৈপাক পাংগলহনবা
Key terms: come, Lord Jesus, kingdom of God, King of kings and Lord of lords, thousand years, Alpha and Omega
Review routing: Human theologian

Christ’s promised, certain, imminent return and his absolute reign as King of kings must be taught without implying a datable timetable (given historical apocalyptic date-setting risk) and without directly confronting, yet clearly superseding, the historic Meitei kingship’s own Pakhangba-descent royal-divine framing; নিংথৌ (king) language applied to Christ’s supremacy must be handled with pastoral care.

The Sovereignty of God over History

Manipuri name: তেংবাং মপুগী মপুংফাবা পাংথোক-থেংনবা
Key terms: throne, Alpha and Omega, Almighty, seal, mystery of God
Review routing: Human theologian

God’s throne (ফম্বল) resonates directly with the historic Meitei Ningthou throne and the Pakhangba ancestral-serpent-deity royal-lineage tradition; this doctrine must be taught as cosmic, universal sovereignty over all history, not a claim over or against any specific historic royal lineage, following the baseline’s ‘seed of David’ precedent for handling resonant-but-distinct royal imagery.

Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints

Manipuri name: ফত্তবা মীওইশিংগী ৱায়েল অমসুং অসেংবা মীওইশিংগী ফংহনবা
Key terms: second death, lake of fire, great white throne, book of life, judgment
Review routing: Human theologian

Final judgment (the lake of fire, the second death) must be taught as eternal and terminal, never as a temporary purgative naraka-style punishment preceding rebirth as functions within some Hindu hell-realm/karma-and-rebirth frameworks live in Manipuri Vaishnavism; martyrs’ vindication (souls under the altar, 6:9-11) must be grounded in God’s own justice, not an accumulating merit-account.

The New Heaven and New Earth

Manipuri name: অনৌবা স্বর্গ অমসুং অনৌবা মালেম
Key terms: new heaven and new earth, new Jerusalem, no more curse, tree of life, water of life
Review routing: Human theologian

The final, once-for-all renewal of creation must be sharply distinguished from the Hindu cosmological cycle of repeating kalpas/yugas (dissolution and recreation), a live and actively taught cosmological framework within Manipuri Vaishnavism; স্বর্গ (heaven) must never be taught as a temporary way-station within an ongoing rebirth cycle.

The Church as Bride of Christ

Manipuri name: ক্রিস্তোগী নুপী লৌগদবী ওইনা কলিসিয়া
Key terms: bride, marriage supper of the Lamb, adorned, holy city
Review routing: Human theologian

The corporate, covenantal Bride image risks direct absorption into the live, prestigious, UNESCO-recognized Ras Lila devotional tradition, in which the individual devotee’s soul is cast as Radha, the eternal romantic-mystical beloved of Krishna; this curriculum must state explicitly that the Bride of Christ is the whole redeemed church corporately, not an individual devotee’s romantic union with a divine lover.

Worship of the Lamb

Manipuri name: য়াওমচাবু খুরুম্জবা
Key terms: Lamb, worship, worthy, slain, Holy, Holy, Holy
Review routing: Human theologian

The worshiped, once-slain Lamb must be explicitly contrasted with Vaishnava avatar theology (Vishnu’s recognized avatar sequence, including animal-form avatars); worship (খুরুম্জবা) must always be object-checked against Vaishnava mūrti-prostration/āratī before Krishna images and Umang Lai reverence at Lai Haraoba — the book’s own refusal-of-angel-worship scenes (19:10; 22:8-9) supply the clearest internal teaching tool that worship belongs to God/the Lamb alone.

Deity of Christ

Manipuri name: ক্রিস্তোগী তেংবাং মপু ওইবা
Key terms: Word of God, Son of Man, Alpha and Omega, glory
Review routing: Human theologian

Christ’s full, co-equal divine nature (self-applying the Alpha-and-Omega title used of God the Father, 1:8; 21:6; 22:13) must never be softened into a great prophet, a specially favored spirit, or one avatar among Vishnu’s recognized avatar sequence.

Sonship of Christ

Manipuri name: ক্রিস্তোগী মচানুপা ওইবা
Key terms: Son of Man, Son of God, the Lamb
Review routing: Human theologian

Eternal, unique Sonship, extended in 21:7’s covenant formula to every overcoming believer’s adoption; must not be read as one avatar among several, nor collapse into a merely honorific human-teacher title for the Son of Man figure.

Incarnation

Manipuri name: মীওইগী মহৈ লৌবা
Key terms: Word of God, Son of Man, Lamb
Review routing: Human theologian

The eternal Son’s permanent, unique assumption of human nature, culminating in his ongoing glorified humanity (Son of Man, Rev 1:13), must never be presented as a recurring or repeatable divine descent, the exact pattern of avatar theology as expressed through Manipuri Vaishnavism’s Ras Lila dance tradition.

Lordship of Christ

Manipuri name: ক্রিস্তোগী মপু ওইবা
Key terms: Lord, King of kings and Lord of lords, Come, Lord Jesus
Review routing: Human theologian

Christ’s exclusive, supreme Lordship — stated at its strongest in the whole canon at 19:16 — must never use ঠাকুর (the Krishna-specific devotional title) and must be taught, with pastoral care and without direct confrontation, as superseding even the historic Meitei kingship’s Pakhangba-descent royal-divine claim.

Salvation

Manipuri name: অহানবা
Key terms: salvation, great multitude, redeemed/purchased
Review routing: Human theologian

Salvation is the redeemed multitude’s reconciliation with God through the Lamb’s finished historical sacrifice; never মোক্ষ (Vaishnava liberation) and never framed as a devotee’s hoped-for eternal union with or nearness to Krishna’s presence.

Grace

Manipuri name: মথৌ তাদনা পীবা তেংবাং
Key terms: grace, freely/as a gift, water of life
Review routing: Human theologian

The water of life is given ‘freely’ (মথৌ তাদনা), sharing its root exactly with the baseline grace term; this must be explicitly taught against Manipuri Vaishnavism’s bhakti framework, in which কৃপা (Krishna’s favor) is typically understood as responsive to a devotee’s devoted service (seva), not wholly unconditioned.

Resurrection of Christ and Believers

Manipuri name: সিবদগী হিংজত-লকপা
Key terms: resurrection, first resurrection, keys of Death and Hades
Review routing: Human theologian

Bodily, historical, once-for-all resurrection (Christ’s own, and believers’ ‘first resurrection’); never পুনর্জন্ম (rebirth), the concept absorbed into Meitei religious discourse through Vaishnavization.

Inspiration and Canonical Integrity of Scripture

Manipuri name: অসেংবা মপুং ৱারিগী থাওয়াই পীবা অমসুং মপুং ফাবা রাখিবা
Key terms: revelation/apocalypse, prophecy, do not add or take away
Review routing: Human theologian

The book’s own closing canonical seal (22:18-19) protecting the integrity of God’s written revelation must be taught with particular sensitivity to Meitei cultural memory around the 1729 Puya Meithaba, the burning of indigenous Meitei religious manuscripts (puya) — Scripture’s God-breathed, providentially preserved character stands in a poignant, not dismissive, relationship to that historical loss.

Idolatry and False Worship

Manipuri name: মীওই শাবা লাইবু খুরুম্জবগী ৱায়েল
Key terms: idolater, worship the beast/image, sorcerer
Review routing: Human theologian

The single most sensitive doctrinal point in the entire curriculum, given Manipur’s live dual-tradition religious landscape. This must never be taught as a direct verdict naming any specific present-day Manipuri devotional practice (Vaishnava temple image-worship, Umang Lai grove veneration, or Sanamahi ancestral-spirit reverence) by name; the theological principle — worship belongs to God alone, not to any created image or being — must be taught clearly and pastorally, using the book’s own angel-refuses-worship scenes (19:10; 22:8-9) as the positive teaching counterpart.

Spiritual Warfare and Satan’s Defeat

Manipuri name: থাওয়াইগী লান অমসুং শাইতানগী মায়োক্না
Key terms: dragon, Satan, Michael, accuser, beast
Review routing: Human theologian

The dragon/Satan’s cosmic opposition to God and his ultimate defeat by the blood of the Lamb must be handled through deliberate transliteration (ড্রাগন) rather than any native Meitei serpent-term, to avoid any implied identification with Pakhangba, the ancestral serpent-deity of the Meitei kingship’s Ningthou-throne tradition; the created angel Michael must likewise be distinguished from Sanamahi’s own contending-spirits cosmology.

Millennial Reign and Linear History

Manipuri name: চহি লিসিং অমগী পাংগলহনবা অমসুং মপুংফাবা মতম চাংবা
Key terms: thousand years, first resurrection, new heaven and new earth
Review routing: Human theologian

The bounded, one-time thousand-year period within Christ’s reign must never be taught or rendered in a way that resonates with the Hindu cosmological cycle of repeating yugas (Satya, Treta, Dvapara, Kali) endlessly recurring, a live cosmological framework actively taught within Manipuri Vaishnavism; this is a specific period within a linear, one-time eschatological timeline, whatever interpretive position is taken on its nature.

High Risk Doctrines

Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution

Manipuri name: ৱাকাল ওইবগী মখাদা থাজবা য়াবা সাক্ষী ওইবা অমসুং খাংনা লেপ্পা
Key terms: overcome, testimony, tribulation, patient endurance, crown of life, two witnesses
Review routing: Human theologian

Faithful endurance must be taught as Christ-empowered perseverance grounded in the Lamb’s finished sacrifice and one’s own testimony, not a this-worldly warrior’s victory nor a ritual/merit-accumulated spiritual attainment; the crown imagery must avoid resonance with Krishna’s ceremonial kirīṭ crown worn in Ras Lila devotional costuming.

Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation

Manipuri name: খুদমগী মতুংইননা ফোংদোকপা ৱারী খংবা
Key terms: sign, revelation/apocalypse, beast, number of the beast, Armageddon
Review routing: Human theologian

Readers must be explicitly taught to read apocalyptic imagery symbolically (numbers, beasts, place-names) rather than as a literal-decoding puzzle to be matched against current events or specific living nations/communities — a risk shared cross-culturally with maibi trance-symbol reading during Lai Haraoba and with Vaishnava astrological omen interpretation, both live interpretive traditions in the Meitei religious landscape.

Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil

Manipuri name: ফত্তবগী মথক্তা তেংবাং মপুগী লোইশিন্বা ন্গম্বা
Key terms: dragon, overcome by the blood of the Lamb, It is done, Hallelujah
Review routing: Human theologian

Final victory over Satan/evil is grounded in Christ’s accomplished, historical sacrifice and resurrection, not an impersonal cosmic balance or fate (ৱাইফম, forbidden per baseline); the dragon’s defeat must never be heard as touching the Pakhangba ancestral-serpent-deity tradition of Meitei kingship, hence the deliberate transliteration ড্রাগন rather than a native serpent term.

Faith

Manipuri name: থাজবা
Key terms: faith, faithful, faithful and true
Review routing: Human theologian

Personal trust in Christ sustained under persecution; the object of faith must always be named, distinguished from ভক্তি (bhakti), Manipuri Vaishnavism’s specific devotional-love practice.

Sanctification

Manipuri name: অসেংবা ওইহনবা
Key terms: holy, repent, Come out of her, my people
Review routing: Human theologian

Ongoing, inward moral transformation and separation from a corrupt world-system’s sin; must be distinguished from ritual purification rites performed before Lai Haraoba or prayaschitta-style atonement acts in Vaishnava practice.

Adoption into God’s Family

Manipuri name: তেংবাং মপুগী ইমুংদা মচা ওইনা লৌবা
Key terms: adoption, Father, he will be my son
Review routing: Human theologian

The clearest sonship/inheritance text in the book, extending the Davidic covenant formula to every overcoming believer; must be taught with the full baseline note that formal, full-inheritance-rights sonship is not a settled category in traditional Meitei yumnak (clan) kinship, where inheritance runs by birth lineage.

Election and Effectual Calling

Manipuri name: তেংবাং মপুগী খনবা অমসুং কৌবা
Key terms: called, chosen, and faithful, sealed
Review routing: Human theologian

God’s sovereign choice and protective sealing of his own; must be distinguished from ৱাইফম (impersonal fate) and from the sense of royal-divine selection historically claimed by the Meitei kingship’s Pakhangba-descent tradition.

Divine Calling

Manipuri name: তেংবাং মপুগী কৌবা
Key terms: called, the mystery of God
Review routing: Human theologian

God’s sovereign summons to the marriage supper of the Lamb; must be distinguished from a maibi being ritually seized/called by an Umang Lai deity during Lai Haraoba trance.

Sainthood (Vindication of the Saints)

Manipuri name: অসেংবা মীওইশিংগী ফংহনবা
Key terms: saints, souls under the altar, prayers of the saints
Review routing: Human theologian

All believers corporately, especially martyrs, are vindicated saints; must not be narrowed to a Vaishnava renunciant-devotee class (গোসাঞি) or a specialist ritual role paralleling the maibi/maiba.

Universal Scope of the Gospel

Manipuri name: নুংঙাইবগী পাউগী মপুংফাবা য়ামলবা
Key terms: eternal gospel, great multitude, nations/tribes/peoples/tongues, tree of life for healing of the nations
Review routing: Human theologian

No clan (yumnak), ethnic, or national barrier to the gospel; retain unqualified universality — a point of particular sensitivity given Manipur’s contemporary inter-community tensions, which must not be mapped directly onto this theological point.

Unity of Jews and Gentiles

Manipuri name: জুহুদীশিং অমসুং অতোপ্পা ফুরুপশিংগী অমত্তা ওইবা
Key terms: twelve gates/tribes/apostles, Israel, nations
Review routing: Human theologian

The New Jerusalem’s architecture permanently unites Old and New Covenant peoples in one city; must be taught with theological clarity rather than mapped onto contemporary Manipur ethnic-community relations, which address a different kind of division.

Angelology and the Worship of Created Beings

Manipuri name: স্বর্গদূতশিং অমসুং শেম্বা মীওইশিংবু খুরুম্জবগী ৱায়েল
Key terms: angel, Michael, angel refuses worship
Review routing: Human theologian

Angels are created, non-worshiped servants of God, explicitly refusing worship offered to them (19:10; 22:8-9); this must be distinguished from Umang Lai nature-deities, ancestral spirits (Apokpa), and any spirit channeled by a maibi during Lai Haraoba trance, all of which occupy positions of active reverence in live Sanamahi practice.

Providence over the Judgment Sequence

Manipuri name: ৱায়েলগী থৌদাংদা তেংবাং মপুগী থৌরাং
Key terms: seal, trumpet, bowl, abyss/bottomless pit
Review routing: Human theologian

The structured, sequential unfolding of divine judgment (seals, trumpets, bowls) must be taught as purposive divine sovereignty, never as impersonal fate (ৱাইফম, forbidden per baseline); even bounded demonic torment (the abyss) operates only within limits God permits.

Medium Risk Doctrines

Mission and Evangelistic Proclamation

Manipuri name: নুংঙাইবগী পাউ সন্দোকপগী থৌদাং
Key terms: eternal gospel, Come out of her, my people, prayers of the saints
Review routing: Native speaker review

Frame the call to gospel proclamation and holy separation from a corrupt world-system as the church’s own faithful calling, not a foreign or ethnically-coded project, given the historical association of Christian mission work in the Manipur hills with colonial-era administration and sensitive inter-community relations, per the baseline’s mission-doctrine caution.

Low Risk Doctrines

Worship and Liturgical Response

Manipuri name: খুরুম্জবা অমসুং থাগৎচরিগী ৱাহেই
Key terms: Hallelujah, Amen, thanksgiving, new song
Review routing: Automated review

Standard liturgical exclamations and songs of praise; low doctrinal risk beyond consistent transliteration per baseline convention.
