Core Glossary
08 Core Glossary — Revelation (English/Greek → Manipuri)
This glossary compiles every load-bearing term identified in 07_semantic_analysis.md, drawn from all 22 chapters of Revelation. Terms already present in the Romans baseline translation_memory.json are marked Reuse and MUST use the exact recorded Manipuri rendering; risk tiers for reused terms are inherited from baseline unless explicitly escalated for Revelation-specific reasons, which are noted. New terms coined for this curriculum are marked New with a provisional rendering, pending native-speaker/theologian confirmation per the baseline’s own confirmation caveats (cf. baseline’s treatment of “adoption,” “covenant,” “imputed_righteousness”).

B. New Terms Coined for the Revelation Curriculum

| 35 | Throne | θρόνος (thronos) | seat of authority | ফম্বল (phambal) | High | Sovereignty of God over History | 1,3,4,5,7,20,21,22 | Resonates with the historic Meitei Ningthou throne and Pakhangba royal-divine lineage tradition; requires explicit “cosmic sovereignty, not local dynasty” teaching, parallel to baseline’s “seed of David” handling. |
| 36 | Worship | προσκυνέω (proskyneō) | to bow down/prostrate | খুরুম্জবা (khurumjaba) | High | Worship of the Lamb | pervasive (4,5,7,9,13,14,15,19,22) | Must always be object-checked; risk of conflation with Vaishnava temple mūrti-worship (āratī/prostration before Krishna) and Umang Lai reverence in Lai Haraoba. |
| 37 | Dragon | δράκων (drakōn) | dragon/serpent-monster | ড্রাগন (Dragon, transliterated) | Critical | Sovereignty of God over History; Assurance of Final Victory | 12,13,20 | Direct collision risk with Pakhangba, the ancestral serpent-deity of historic Meitei kingship; transliteration deliberately avoids native serpent vocabulary, parallel to ক্রিস্তো (Messiah). |
| 38 | Beast | θηρίον (thērion) | wild beast/monster | শা চাউবা (sha chauba) | High | Perseverance under Persecution; Symbolic Interpretation | 13,14,15,16,17,19,20 | Symbol for God-opposing worldly power demanding worship; must not be literalized as, or mapped onto, any specific living nation/community given Manipur’s inter-community sensitivities. |

| 41 | Bride | νύμφη (nymphē) | bride | নুপী লৌগদবী (nupi lougadabi) | Critical | Church as Bride of Christ | 19,21,22 | Direct collision risk with Ras Lila’s Radha-Krishna bridal-mystical devotional paradigm, a live, prestigious, UNESCO-recognized tradition; must be taught as corporate, covenantal, not individual-romantic-mystical. |
| 42 | New Jerusalem / Holy City | ἡ καινὴ Ἰερουσαλήμ / πόλις ἁγία (hē kainē Ierousalēm / polis hagia) | new Jerusalem / holy city | অনৌবা জেরুসালেম / অসেংবা সহর (Anouba Jerusalem / asengba sahar) | Medium | New Heaven and New Earth | 3,21 | Descending-city image; low direct collision but requires “given, not built/attained” teaching alongside grace. |

| 44 | Alpha and Omega | Ἄλφα καὶ Ὦ (Alpha kai Ō) | Alpha and Omega | আলফা অমসুং ওমেগা (Alpha amasung Omega) | Medium | Sovereignty of God over History | 1,21,22 | Transliterated merism; requires explanatory footnote given unfamiliar Greek-alphabet reference; low collision risk. |

| 46 | Seven Spirits of God | τὰ ἑπτὰ πνεύματα (ta hepta pneumata) | the seven spirits | তেংবাং মপুগী থাওয়াই তরেৎ (Tengban Mapugi thawai taret) | Critical | Sanctification; Trinitarian doctrine | 1,4,5 | Must be explicitly taught as the one Holy Spirit’s sevenfold fullness, never a populated multiplicity of spirit-beings — directly adjacent to the baseline’s caution about bare থাওয়াই resonating with Sanamahi’s ancestral/Umang Lai spirit-world. |
| 47 | Son of Man | υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου (huios anthrōpou) | son of man | মীওইগী মচানুপা (miwoigi machanupa) | High | Deity and Humanity of Christ | 1,14 | Parallel structure to baseline’s Son of God term; combines full deity and full humanity, must not be softened into a merely honorific human title. |

| 49 | Angel | ἄγγελος (angelos) | messenger | স্বর্গদূত (swargadut) | High | Sovereignty of God over History; Worship of the Lamb | pervasive | Must be distinguished from Umang Lai nature-deities, ancestral spirits (Apokpa), and any spirit channeled by a maibi; angels are created, non-worshiped servants of God (cf. 19:10; 22:8-9). |

| 51 | Testimony/Witness | μαρτυρία / μάρτυς (martyria / martys) | testimony / witness | সাক্ষী / সাক্ষীদা (sakshi / sakshida) | High | Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution | 1,6,11,12,17,19,20 | Must be distinguished from a maibi’s trance testimony/oracular utterance and from a merely courtroom sense; carries the martyrdom-weight distinctive to Revelation. |
| 52 | Second Death | ὁ θάνατος ὁ δεύτερος (ho thanatos ho deuteros) | the second death | অনিশুবা সিবা (anishuba siba) | Critical | Judgment of the Wicked | 2,20,21 | Must never be rendered or explained as compatible with rebirth/reincarnation (পুনর্জন্ম, forbidden per baseline); this is final, not transitional. |
| 53 | Lake of Fire | ἡ λίμνη τοῦ πυρός (hē limnē tou pyros) | the lake of fire | মেইগী পাৎ (meigi pat) | Critical | Judgment of the Wicked | 19,20,21 | Must be taught as final and eternal, not a temporary purgative naraka-style punishment preceding rebirth, as some Hindu hell-realm concepts function within a karma-and-rebirth framework. |
| 54 | Book of Life | τὸ βιβλίον τῆς ζωῆς (to biblion tēs zōēs) | the book of life | হিংবগী লাইরিক (hingbagi lairik) | Medium | Judgment of the Wicked; Vindication of the Saints | 3,13,17,20,21 | Distinguish from any karmic ledger/merit-account concept; a record of God’s own gracious ownership. |

| 69 | Sign/Symbol | σημεῖον (sēmeion) | sign, symbol | খুদম (khudam) | High | Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation | 12,13,15,19 | Interpretive-method term: teaches readers to read apocalyptic imagery symbolically, not as literal-decoding puzzle (a risk shared cross-culturally with maibi symbol-reading and Vaishnava astrological omen interpretation). |

C. Provisional Rendering Confirmation Notice
Following the baseline’s own precedent for “adoption,” “covenant,” and “imputed_righteousness,” the following newly coined terms in Section B are flagged as requiring confirmation with a Manipuri-speaking theologian before wide Phase 2 deployment, given the absence of a fully crystallized single term in currently available Manipuri Christian literature: Lamb (য়াওমচা as a divine title, #34), Dragon (ড্রাগন as a deliberate transliteration decision, #37), Bride (নুপী লৌগদবী, #41), Almighty (পাংথোক্লবা তেংবাং মপু, #45), Seven Spirits of God (তেংবাং মপুগী থাওয়াই তরেৎ, #46), Idol/Idolater (#61), and King of Kings and Lord of Lords (#75). These seven items carry the highest combined doctrinal stakes and cultural-collision risk in the entire book and should receive priority review in Phase 2 Step 17’s Doctrinal Fidelity Review.

Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Never framed as a devotee’s hoped-for eternal union with or nearness to Krishna’s presence; grounded in the Lamb’s finished historical sacrifice (7:9-10; 12:10-11; 19:1).
Grace
Approved rendering: মথৌ তাদনা পীবা তেংবাং
Transliteration: mathou tadana piba tengbang
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives: কৃপা (bhakti-responsive favor toward a devotee, avoid as primary term), পুণ্য (merit accumulated through devotional service, never use)
Original: χάρις
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Revelation 21:6’s ‘freely’ (দৌরেআন root, see freely_gift below) shares its root with this term and must be taught alongside it as the book’s closing benediction (22:21) restates.
Righteousness
Approved rendering: অচুম্বা চৎনবিরাক
Transliteration: achumba chatnabirak
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Rejected alternatives: ধর্ম (Hindu-derived cosmic/religious duty sense, avoid)
Original: δικαιοσύνη
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Underlies God’s self-description as ‘faithful and true’ (অচুম্বা root) at Revelation 21:5.
Resurrection
Approved rendering: সিবদগী হিংজত-লকপা
Transliteration: sibadagi hingjat-lakpa
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Rejected alternatives: পুনর্জন্ম (rebirth/reincarnation, never use)
Original: ἀνάστασις
Category: Eschatology
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Revelation 20:4-6 specifies a ‘first resurrection’ (add হৌজিক্কী, ‘the first,’ as a qualifier); never render with rebirth vocabulary.
Son Of God
Approved rendering: তেংবাং মপুগী মচানুপা
Transliteration: Tengban Mapugi machanupa
Doctrine: Sonship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: অবতার (avatar, explicit downgrade, rejected)
Original: υἱὸς θεοῦ
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Structural root for Revelation’s ‘Son of Man’ title (see new term below) and for 21:7’s covenant formula extended to every overcoming believer.
Incarnation
Approved rendering: মীওইগী মহৈ লৌবা
Transliteration: miwoigi mahai louba
Doctrine: Incarnation
Rejected alternatives: অবতার (never use)
Original: ὁ λόγος σὰρξ ἐγένετο
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Background doctrine underlying the ‘Word of God’ Christological title (19:13, see new term below); the eternal Son’s permanent, unique assumption of human nature, never a recurring divine descent as in Ras Lila avatar-devotion.
Lamb
Approved rendering: য়াওমচা
Transliteration: yaomacha
Doctrine: Worship of the Lamb
Rejected alternatives: Any animal-form avatar description evoking Vishnu’s recognized avatar sequence (e.g. Matsya, Varaha), never use as a comparison
Original: ἀρνίον
Category: Christology
NEW TERM. Revelation’s dominant Christological title (28 occurrences, e.g. chs. 5,7,12,13,14,15,17,19,21,22). Must be taught with explicit contrast to Vaishnava avatar theology: the worshiped, once-slain Lamb is the eternal Son’s unique, permanent sacrificial identity, worthy of worship precisely because he is God incarnate once — never a repeating divine descent in animal or any other form. Requires theologian confirmation before wide Phase 2 deployment (per 08_core_glossary.md §C).
Dragon
Approved rendering: ড্রাগন
Transliteration: Dragon
Doctrine: Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil
Rejected alternatives: Any native Meitei ‘great serpent’ word evoking Pakhangba, deliberately rejected
Original: δράκων
Category: Apocalyptic Symbolism
NEW TERM, deliberately transliterated rather than rendered with a native serpent word. Direct collision risk with Pakhangba, the ancestral serpent-deity and elder brother of Sanamahi, divine ancestor of the historic Meitei kingship. This choice, and its reasoning, must be taught explicitly wherever the term occurs (chs. 12, 13, 20). Requires theologian confirmation before wide Phase 2 deployment.
Bride
Approved rendering: নুপী লৌগদবী
Transliteration: nupi lougadabi
Doctrine: The Church as Bride of Christ
Rejected alternatives: সধবা, প্রিয়া-type Sanskrit/Bengali bridal-devotional loanwords saturated with Ras Lila Radha-Krishna connotation, deliberately avoided
Original: νύμφη
Category: Church
NEW TERM. Direct collision with Ras Lila’s live, prestigious, UNESCO-recognized Radha-Krishna bridal-mystical devotional paradigm, in which the individual devotee’s soul is cast as Radha. Must be taught as a corporate, covenantal, eschatological identity of the whole redeemed church, not an individual devotee’s romantic-mystical union with a divine lover (chs. 19,21,22). Requires theologian confirmation before wide Phase 2 deployment.
Marriage Supper Of The Lamb
Approved rendering: য়াওমচাগী লুহোংবগী চক্লেন
Transliteration: yaomachagi luhongbagi chaklen
Doctrine: The Church as Bride of Christ
Original: ὁ γάμος τοῦ ἀρνίου
Category: Church
NEW TERM, reusing য়াওমচা (Lamb) and the bride root. Same Ras Lila Radha-Krishna bridal-devotional collision risk as ‘bride’; the corporate church’s consummated covenant union with Christ, not an individual devotee’s romantic-mystical union (Rev 19:6-9).
New Heaven And New Earth
Approved rendering: অনৌবা স্বর্গ অমসুং অনৌবা মালেম
Transliteration: anouba swarga amasung anouba malem
Doctrine: The New Heaven and New Earth
Original: οὐρανὸν καινὸν καὶ γῆν καινήν
Category: Eschatology
NEW TERM. Must be taught as a one-time, linear, final renewal, explicitly not one turn of a repeating Hindu cosmological cycle (kalpa/yuga dissolution-recreation), a live cosmological framework in Manipuri Vaishnavism (Rev 21:1).
Seven Spirits Of God
Approved rendering: তেংবাং মপুগী থাওয়াই তরেৎ
Transliteration: Tengban Mapugi thawai taret
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: থাওয়াই alone with a numeral, deliberately rejected as inviting a populated-spirit-world reading
Original: τὰ ἑπτὰ πνεύματα
Category: God
NEW TERM. Must be taught explicitly as the one Holy Spirit’s sevenfold fullness, never a populated multiplicity of spirit-beings — directly adjacent to the baseline’s caution about bare থাওয়াই resonating with Sanamahi’s ancestral/Umang Lai spirit-world (Rev 1:4; 4:5; 5:6). Requires theologian confirmation before wide Phase 2 deployment.
Second Death
Approved rendering: অনিশুবা সিবা
Transliteration: anishuba siba
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Original: ὁ θάνατος ὁ δεύτερος
Category: Judgment
NEW TERM. Must never be rendered or explained as compatible with rebirth/reincarnation (পুনর্জন্ম, forbidden per baseline); a permanent, final state, not a station within a cycle (Rev 2:11; 20:6,14; 21:8).
Lake Of Fire
Approved rendering: মেইগী পাৎ
Transliteration: meigi pat
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Original: ἡ λίμνη τοῦ πυρός
Category: Judgment
NEW TERM (using পাৎ, the authentic Meitei word for a lake, cf. Loktak Pat). Must be taught as final and eternal, not a temporary purgative naraka-style punishment preceding rebirth as functions within some Hindu hell-realm/karma-and-rebirth frameworks live in Manipuri Vaishnavism (Rev 19:20; 20:10,14-15; 21:8).
Idol Idolater
Approved rendering: মীওই শাবা লাই / লাই খুরুমবা মীওই
Transliteration: miwoi shaba lai / lai khurumba miwoi
Doctrine: Worship of the Lamb
Original: εἴδωλον / εἰδωλολάτρης
Category: Worship
NEW TERM. The single most sensitive term in the book. Must never be taught as a direct verdict on any specific present-day Manipuri devotional practice (Vaishnava temple image-worship, Umang Lai grove veneration, or Sanamahi ancestral-spirit reverence); teach the principle — worship belongs to God alone — pastorally, using Rev 19:10 and 22:8-9 as the positive counterpart (Rev 2:14,20; 9:20; 21:8; 22:15). Requires theologian confirmation before wide Phase 2 deployment.
Thousand Years Millennium
Approved rendering: চহি লিসিং অমা
Transliteration: chahi lising ama
Doctrine: The Return and Reign of Christ
Original: χίλια ἔτη
Category: Eschatology
NEW TERM. Must never resonate with the Hindu cyclical yuga cosmology of repeating cosmic ages (Satya, Treta, Dvapara, Kali); a bounded, one-time period within a linear eschatological timeline (Rev 20:1-6). Requires theologian confirmation before wide Phase 2 deployment given the diversity of Christian interpretive traditions on its nature.
Freely Gift
Approved rendering: মথৌ তাদনা
Transliteration: mathou tadana
Doctrine: Grace
Original: δωρεάν
Category: Salvation
NEW TERM. Shares its root exactly with the baseline grace term মথৌ তাদনা পীবা তেংবাং; the prime teaching site for grace-apart-from-merit doctrine against Manipuri Vaishnavism’s bhakti-responsive কৃপা (Rev 21:6; 22:17).
Come Lord Jesus
Approved rendering: জিসু, লাক্কো মপু ইবুংগো
Transliteration: Jisu, lakko Mapu Ibungo
Doctrine: The Return and Reign of Christ
Original: Ἔρχου, Κύριε Ἰησοῦ
Category: Eschatology
NEW TERM. Structural parallel to Romans 10:9’s ‘Jesus is Lord’ confession; must be rendered identically across all curriculum documents wherever it recurs (Rev 22:20).
King Of Kings Lord Of Lords
Approved rendering: মপুশিংগী মপু ইবুংগো, ৱাংমদা লৈরিবা নিংথৌশিংগী নিংথৌ
Transliteration: mapushinggi Mapu Ibungo, wangmada leiriba ningthoushinggi ningthou
Doctrine: The Return and Reign of Christ
Original: βασιλεὺς βασιλέων καὶ κύριος κυρίων
Category: Christology
NEW TERM, built on নিংথৌ (king), historically tied to the Pakhangba-descent royal-lineage tradition. The strongest superlative Lordship claim in the canon (Rev 17:14; 19:16); teach with care and without direct confrontational framing toward Manipur’s own royal-historical memory. Requires theologian confirmation before wide Phase 2 deployment.
Word Of God Title
Approved rendering: তেংবাং মপুগী ৱাহেই
Transliteration: Tengban Mapugi wahei
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Original: ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ
Category: Christology
NEW TERM. Echoes John 1:1,14; ties directly to the Incarnation and Deity of Christ doctrines inherited from the baseline (Rev 19:13).
High Risk Terms
Holy
Approved rendering: অসেংবা
Transliteration: asengba
Doctrine: Sanctification / Separation unto God’s Service
Rejected alternatives: শেংবা (physical/ritual purity only, reserve for ritual-cleanliness contexts)
Original: ἅγιος
Category: Sanctification
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. The trisagion (‘Holy, holy, holy,’ Rev 4:8) intensifies this term’s doctrinal weight beyond its Romans usage; reused three times in immediate succession.
Saints
Approved rendering: অসেংবা মীওই
Transliteration: asengba miwoi
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Rejected alternatives: গোসাঞি (Vaishnava renunciant devotee title, never use)
Original: ἅγιοι
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Central to the persecution/vindication narrative across chs. 5, 6, 8, 11, 13-14, 16-19.
Kingdom Of God
Approved rendering: তেংবাং মপুগী লৈপাক
Transliteration: Tengban Mapugi leipak
Doctrine: The Return and Reign of Christ / The Sovereignty of God over History
Original: βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ
Category: Kingdom
Inherited from Romans package; ESCALATED from baseline’s Medium tier to High for Revelation because 11:15 (‘the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our Lord’) and 19:6 present it as history’s climactic turning point in direct combination with the Lord title, raising doctrinal stakes beyond Romans’ didactic usage.
Faith
Approved rendering: থাজবা
Transliteration: thajaba
Doctrine: Faith
Rejected alternatives: ভক্তি (bhakti, devoted loving worship, too specific to the Vaishnava devotional framework)
Original: πίστις
Category: Faith
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. In Revelation the object of faith must always be recoverable, especially where ‘faithful’ functions as a technical badge of perseverance under persecution (2:13,19; 13:10; 14:12; 17:14).
Glory
Approved rendering: মতিক চাউবা
Transliteration: matik chauba
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Original: δόξα
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Avoid metaphors evoking the staged visual splendor of Ras Lila performance, designed to evoke Krishna’s own divine radiance; especially relevant at 21:11,23 where God’s glory replaces sun and moon as the city’s light.
Power Of God
Approved rendering: তেংবাং মপুগী পাংথোক-থেংনবা
Transliteration: Tengban Mapugi pangthok-thengnaba
Doctrine: The Sovereignty of God over History
Rejected alternatives: শক্তি (maibi trance-power / regional goddess-power, avoid)
Original: δύναμις θεοῦ
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Pervasive in Revelation’s doxological hymns; root also used to build ‘Almighty’ (see new term below).
Called
Approved rendering: কৌখিবা
Transliteration: koukhiba
Doctrine: Election and Effectual Calling
Original: κλητός
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Appears in the triple formula ‘called, chosen, and faithful’ at Revelation 17:14.
Election
Approved rendering: তেংবাং মপুগী খনবা
Transliteration: Tengban Mapugi khanba
Doctrine: Election and Effectual Calling
Rejected alternatives: ৱাইফম (fate/destiny, never use)
Original: ἐκλογή / ἐκλεκτός
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Must be distinguished from the sense of royal-divine selection historically claimed by the Meitei kingship’s Pakhangba-descent tradition.
Seed Of David
Approved rendering: দাউদগী চা-চাহি
Transliteration: Daudgi cha-chahi
Doctrine: The Return and Reign of Christ
Inherited from Romans package; ESCALATED slightly to High for Revelation because 22:16 (‘Root and Offspring of David’) repeatedly combines this title with throne/kingship imagery already carrying royal-lineage resonance in Manipur.
Sin
Approved rendering: পাপ
Transliteration: pap
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Original: ἁμαρτία
Category: Sin
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged.
Providence
Approved rendering: তেংবাং মপুগী থৌরাং
Transliteration: Tengban Mapugi thourang
Doctrine: The Sovereignty of God over History
Rejected alternatives: ৱাইফম (fate, never use)
Original: πρόνοια (thematic)
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Pervasive especially in the seal-judgment sequence (ch. 6) and the trumpet/bowl sequences (chs. 8-9, 16).
Gospel
Approved rendering: নুংঙাইবগী পাউ
Transliteration: nungngaibagi pao
Doctrine: Universal Scope of the Gospel
Original: εὐαγγέλιον
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Revelation 14:6 names it the ‘eternal gospel’; must be distinguished from Vaishnava festival-calendar celebratory announcements.
Adoption
Approved rendering: মচা ওইনা লৌবা
Transliteration: macha oina louba
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Revelation 21:7 is the clearest adoption/covenant-formula text in the book, extending the promise to every overcoming believer; formal full-inheritance-rights sonship is not a settled category in traditional Meitei yumnak (clan) kinship.
Covenant
Approved rendering: ৱারেপ্পা
Transliteration: wareppa
Doctrine: The Sovereignty of God over History
Original: διαθήκη
Category: Covenant
Inherited from Romans package, unchanged. Visualized concretely as the ark of the covenant at Revelation 11:19 (see new term below).
Prophet
Approved rendering: তোঙান তোঙানবা ফোংদোকপা
Transliteration: tongan tonganba phongdokpa
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Rejected alternatives: মৈবা (Sanamahi ritual specialist/healer, never use)
Original: προφήτης
Category: Covenant
Inherited from Romans package; ESCALATED from baseline’s Low tier to High for Revelation because the prophetic office (the two witnesses, ch. 11) is bound directly to martyrdom, and must be distinguished from a মৈবা/মৈবী’s recognized ritual-oracular office.
Prophecy
Approved rendering: ফোংদোকপা ৱারোল
Transliteration: phongdokpa warol
Doctrine: Inspiration and Canonical Integrity of Scripture
Original: προφητεία
Category: Covenant
Inherited from Romans package; ESCALATED from baseline’s Low tier to High for Revelation because the canonical-integrity warning at 22:18-19 raises the stakes for this term well beyond its general Romans usage.
Throne
Approved rendering: ফম্বল
Transliteration: phambal
Doctrine: The Sovereignty of God over History
Original: θρόνος
Category: Kingdom
NEW TERM (existing Meitei royal-seat word, retained rather than transliterated for naturalness across 40+ occurrences). Resonates directly with the historic Meitei Ningthou throne and the Pakhangba ancestral-serpent-deity royal-lineage tradition; must be taught explicitly as cosmic, not local-dynastic, sovereignty, parallel to the baseline’s ‘seed of David’ precedent.
Worship
Approved rendering: খুরুম্জবা
Transliteration: khurumjaba
Doctrine: Worship of the Lamb
Original: προσκυνέω
Category: Worship
NEW TERM. The single most collision-prone recurring verb in the book (20+ occurrences); must always be object-checked against Vaishnava mūrti-prostration/āratī before Krishna images and Umang Lai reverence at Lai Haraoba. Use 19:10 and 22:8-9 (an angel’s refusal of worship) as the sharpest internal teaching contrast.
Beast
Approved rendering: শা চাউবা
Transliteration: sha chauba
Doctrine: Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation
Original: θηρίον
Category: Apocalyptic Symbolism
NEW TERM. A symbolic figure for God-opposing worldly power demanding worship; must not be literalized as, or mapped onto, any specific living nation/community given Manipur’s sensitive inter-community context (chs. 13,14,15,16,17,19,20).
Mark Of The Beast
Approved rendering: শাগী খুদম
Transliteration: shagi khudam
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Original: χάραγμα τοῦ θηρίου
Category: Apocalyptic Symbolism
NEW TERM. Central to the persecution doctrine’s allegiance test, contrasted with God’s protective seal on his people (ch. 7).
False Prophet
Approved rendering: মিনবা ফোংদোকপা
Transliteration: miniba phongdokpa
Doctrine: Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation
Original: ψευδοπροφήτης
Category: Apocalyptic Symbolism
NEW TERM, built on the প্রফেট root with negation. Must be distinguished from a maiba/maibi’s ritual office rather than serving as a blanket verdict on traditional practitioners (chs. 16,19,20).
Almighty Pantokrator
Approved rendering: পাংথোক্লবা তেংবাং মপু
Transliteration: Pangthoklaba Tengban Mapu
Doctrine: The Sovereignty of God over History
Original: παντοκράτωρ
Category: God
NEW TERM. Risk of resonance with Vaishnava ‘Bhagavan’ supreme-deity concept or Sanamahi cosmology’s own supreme-deity-behind-Sanamahi concept; must be taught as the unique triune God, not a supreme figure within a wider pantheon (Rev 1:8; 4:8; 11:17; 15:3; 16:7,14; 19:6,15; 21:22). Requires theologian confirmation before wide Phase 2 deployment.
Son Of Man
Approved rendering: মীওইগী মচানুপা
Transliteration: miwoigi machanupa
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Original: υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου
Category: Christology
NEW TERM, parallel in structure to তেংবাং মপুগী মচানুপা (Son of God). Combines full deity and full humanity; must not be softened into a merely honorific human-teacher title (Rev 1:13; 14:14).
Revelation Apocalypse Title
Approved rendering: ফোংদোকপা
Transliteration: phongdokpa
Doctrine: Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation
Original: ἀποκάλυψις
Category: Apocalyptic Symbolism
NEW TERM (reusing the প্রফেট root). Must be distinguished from a maibi’s trance-induced oracular disclosure during Lai Haraoba and from human-sought mystical/astrological revelation; this is God’s own sovereign, written, once-given unveiling (Rev 1:1).
Angel
Approved rendering: স্বর্গদূত
Transliteration: swargadut
Doctrine: Worship of the Lamb
Original: ἄγγελος
Category: Angelology
NEW TERM. Must be distinguished from Umang Lai nature-deities, ancestral spirits (Apokpa), and any spirit channeled by a maibi; angels are created, non-worshiped servants of God (cf. Rev 19:10; 22:8-9).
Overcome Conquer
Approved rendering: ন্গম্বা
Transliteration: ngamba
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Original: νικάω
Category: Perseverance
NEW TERM. Central refrain-term of the seven letters (chs. 2-3) and of 21:7; must be taught as faith-sustained endurance, not a warrior’s this-worldly victory or ritual/merit-accumulated spiritual attainment. Consistency required across all occurrences per theological consistency rules.
Testimony Witness
Approved rendering: সাক্ষী
Transliteration: sakshi
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Original: μαρτυρία / μάρτυς
Category: Perseverance
NEW TERM. Must be distinguished from a maibi’s trance testimony/oracular utterance and from a merely courtroom sense; carries the martyrdom-weight distinctive to Revelation (chs. 1,6,11,12,17,19,20).
Tree Of Life
Approved rendering: হিংবগী উপাল
Transliteration: hingbagi upal
Doctrine: The New Heaven and New Earth
Original: τὸ ξύλον τῆς ζωῆς
Category: Eschatology

Tribulation
Approved rendering: ৱাকাল চাউবা
Transliteration: wakal chauba
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Original: θλῖψις
Category: Perseverance
NEW TERM. Must not be read as generic bad luck/impersonal fate (ৱাইফম, forbidden per baseline); purposive suffering under divine sovereignty (Rev 1:9; 2:9-10,22; 7:14).
Patient Endurance
Approved rendering: খাংনা লেপ্পা
Transliteration: khangna leppa
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Original: ὑπομονή
Category: Perseverance
NEW TERM. Names the book’s titular virtue; consistency required across all occurrences (Rev 1:9; 2:2-3,19; 3:10; 13:10; 14:12).
Repent
Approved rendering: থমোই হোংদোকপা
Transliteration: thamoi hongdokpa
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Original: μετανοέω
Category: Sanctification
NEW TERM. Must convey inward transformation and turning to God, distinct from ritual purification rites performed before Lai Haraoba or prayaschitta-style atonement acts in Vaishnava practice (Rev 2:5,16,21-22; 3:3,19; 9:20-21; 16:9,11).
Crown Of Life
Approved rendering: হিংবগী লুকোক
Transliteration: hingbagi lukok
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Original: στέφανος

Sorcerer Sorcery
Approved rendering: জাদু তৌবা মীওই
Transliteration: jadu tauba miwoi
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Rejected alternatives: মৈবা/মৈবী (traditional Sanamahi ritual-healing/oracular office, deliberately avoided)
Original: φαρμακός
Category: Judgment
NEW TERM. Distinguish from the maiba/maibi’s traditionally recognized ritual-healing and oracular office within live Sanamahi practice; targets manipulative or God-opposing spiritual power specifically (Rev 9:21; 18:23; 21:8; 22:15).
Harlot Babylon
Approved rendering: লীচিংবি / ব্যাবিলোন চাউবা
Transliteration: lichingbi / Byabilon chauba
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Original: πόρνη / Βαβυλὼν ἡ μεγάλη
Category: Judgment
NEW TERM. Must be taught as a symbolic figure for a corrupt world-system, not a literal historical or contemporary city/nation/ethnic identification; requires gender-sensitive handling of the prophetic marital-unfaithfulness metaphor (Rev 14:8; 17:1-18; 18:1-24; 19:2).
Great White Throne
Approved rendering: ফম্বল অঙৌবা চাউবা

Judgment
Approved rendering: ৱায়েল
Transliteration: wayel
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Original: κρίσις
Category: Judgment

Sign Symbol
Approved rendering: খুদম
Transliteration: khudam
Doctrine: Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation
Original: σημεῖον
Category: Apocalyptic Symbolism
NEW TERM. Interpretive-method term teaching readers to read apocalyptic imagery symbolically, not as a literal-decoding puzzle — a risk shared with maibi symbol-reading during Lai Haraoba and Vaishnava astrological omen interpretation (Rev 1:1; 12:1,3; 13:13-14; 15:1; 19:20).
Two Witnesses
Approved rendering: সাক্ষী অনি
Transliteration: sakshi ani
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution

Scroll Seals
Approved rendering: চাপ
Transliteration: chap
Doctrine: The Sovereignty of God over History
Original: σφραγίς
Category: God
