Doctrine Analysis

11 Doctrine Analysis — Jude 1:1–25 (English → Mandarin)

Scope and Method

Jude is a single-chapter epistle (1:1–25). Per the PRD full-book-coverage mandate, this analysis walks the entire letter verse-range in seven load-bearing sections rather than by chapter (there being only one), so that no verse is silently skipped. Each section lists every doctrine active within it, cross-referenced to doctrine_risk_registry.json (Jude edition) so that risk tiers, doctrine names, and review routing are identical across both artifacts — this document adds per-section translation-risk framing and confirms full coverage; it does not introduce any doctrine or tier absent from the registry, nor omit any registry doctrine.

The six curriculum doctrines supplied in curriculum_parameters (Contending for the Faith Once Delivered; Judgment on Ungodly False Teachers; Old Testament Warnings as Types; Mercy and Rescue of the Wavering; Kept by God and Presented Blameless; Doxology and God’s Preserving Power) are the theological anchors of the curriculum. The registry’s 19 doctrines are the granular decomposition of these six anchors plus the epistolary frame and supporting sub-themes (denial of Christ’s Lordship, grace perverted into license, apostolic deposit/Scripture authority, apostasy pattern triad, supernatural conflict, corrupted fellowship, last-days scoffers, worldliness/absence of the Spirit, eternal life/assurance, natural-world imagery, epistolary identity). Each is mapped below to its section of the letter.

Section 1 — Salutation (Jude 1:1–2)

Establishes the letter’s author, recipients, and threefold greeting (mercy, peace, love multiplied). Introduces the τηρέω “kept” word-family in its protective sense for the first time and the 蒙召的/圣徒 vocabulary inherited from the Romans baseline.

DoctrineSupporting Passage(s)RiskTranslation RiskReview Routing
Epistolary Identity: Author, Recipients, and GreetingJude 1:1–2Medium犹大 is the identical CUV transliteration for both this letter’s author and Judas Iscariot; standing disambiguation note required. 仆人 (servant) risks reading as socially servile rather than an honored self-designation.Native speaker review
Divine CallingJude 1:1High蒙召的 must be kept distinct from 天命 (Mandate of Heaven); God’s call is personal/relational, not an impersonal cosmic entitlement.Human theologian
Kept by God and Presented Blameless (protective branch introduced)Jude 1:1 (τηρημένοις)HighFirst occurrence of the τηρέω word-family; must be flagged immediately as belonging to the protective-keeping branch (保守), not the custodial-for-judgment branch (存留/拘留) introduced later in the letter.Human theologian

Coverage note: No verse in this section is doctrine-thin; both verses carry Critical/High-tier vocabulary (蒙召的, 保守, and the baseline-inherited 恩典/平安/慈爱 triad in the greeting, reviewed under the Romans baseline and not re-litigated here).

Section 2 — Purpose Statement and Occasion (Jude 1:3–4)

The theological hinge of the letter: the appeal to contend for “the faith,” and the description of the false teachers’ twin error (perverting grace, denying the Lord).

DoctrineSupporting Passage(s)RiskTranslation RiskReview Routing
Contending for the Faith Once DeliveredJude 1:3Criticalπίστις here = 真道 (closed doctrinal deposit), never 信心 (personal trust, the Romans sense of the same Greek word). 交付 must never be rendered 传承 (lineage transmission implying ongoing reinterpretation).Human theologian
Grace Perverted into LicenseJude 1:4Critical恩典 must never be taught as inherently permissive; the abuse (放纵情欲) is the false teachers’ distortion, not a property of grace itself.Human theologian
Denial of Christ’s Exclusive LordshipJude 1:4Critical不认…主 is the direct negative mirror of the Romans 10:9 confession 耶稣是主; 独一的主宰 must be read as personal, exclusive sovereignty, never impersonal fate-mastery (命运的主宰).Human theologian
Sainthood (Recipients of the Once-Delivered Faith)Jude 1:3High圣徒 designates all recipients corporately; must not be read through 圣人 (the elevated Confucian sage category).Human theologian

Coverage note: This four-verse section is the single highest doctrinal density in the letter (three Critical-tier doctrines in two verses); no verse is exempt from theologian review.

Section 3 — Old Testament Warning Triad: Israel, Angels, Sodom (Jude 1:5–7)

Establishes the typological argument pattern (past privilege does not exempt from future judgment) using three historical/angelic precedents.

DoctrineSupporting Passage(s)RiskTranslation RiskReview Routing
Old Testament Warnings as Types (Israel, Angels, Sodom)Jude 1:5, 1:6, 1:7HighNo native Chinese cultural counterpart to this typological pattern; requires explicit background teaching. 永火 must be distinguished from Buddhist/folk temporary hell-torment imagery from which release remains possible.Human theologian
Kept by God and Presented Blameless (custodial branch introduced)Jude 1:6 (×2, τηρέω negative branch)HighFirst occurrence(s) of the custodial-for-judgment branch (存留); must not be interchanged with the protective branch established in Section 1.Human theologian
Judgment on Ungodly False Teachers (judgment vocabulary introduced)Jude 1:5 (destroyed), 1:7 (eternal fire as judgment paradigm)High刑罚/审判 vocabulary must never be conflated with 报应 (impersonal karmic retribution).Human theologian

Coverage note: All three verses are load-bearing; none is doctrine-thin. Egypt (1:5) and Sodom and Gomorrah (1:7) require proper-name background per 08_core_glossary.md Section B3/B7.

Section 4 — Description of the False Teachers (Jude 1:8–13)

The letter’s longest sustained description, combining direct denunciation (vv. 8–10), the Cain/Balaam/Korah triad (v. 11), the corrupted love-feast image (v. 12), and the chain of natural-world figures (vv. 12–13).

DoctrineSupporting Passage(s)RiskTranslation RiskReview Routing
Judgment on Ungodly False TeachersJude 1:8–10High不敬虔 must be anchored to reverence toward the one true God, not generic filial/ritual reverence (孝敬) satisfiable toward any object.Human theologian
Denial of Christ’s Exclusive Lordship (continued)Jude 1:8 (轻慢主治的)CriticalRoot-linked to κύριος; reject-authority language is a further repudiation of the Lordship confession.Human theologian
Supernatural Conflict and Restraint in Confronting EvilJude 1:9Medium魔鬼 contains 鬼, carrying folk-ghost associations (饿鬼, ancestor ghosts); must be clarified as one specific fallen created being, not a folk-spirit class. 米迦勒 is a created angel, not a deity.Native speaker review
Apostasy Patterns: Way of Cain, Error of Balaam, Rebellion of KorahJude 1:11MediumThree distinct apostasy-pattern narratives with no Chinese cultural counterpart; risk is under-explanation, not mistranslation of the established CUV proper names.Native speaker review
Corruption of Christian Fellowship (Love Feasts)Jude 1:12Medium爱席 must be distinguished from ancestor/deity offering-feasts (祭祀宴); horizontal fellowship, not vertical offering.Native speaker review
Kept by God and Presented Blameless (custodial branch, gloom imagery)Jude 1:13 (ζόφος, “gloom…reserved”)High幽暗/黑暗 risk minor conflation with folk-underworld bureaucracy imagery; the reservation-for-judgment sense continues the custodial branch.Human theologian
Natural-World Imagery Describing False TeachersJude 1:12–13LowVivid figurative chain (hidden reefs, waterless clouds, fruitless trees, wild waves, wandering stars) with ready Mandarin equivalents; minor risk of substituting an unrelated local idiom or reading “wandering stars” astrologically (占星).Automated review

Coverage note: Every verse 8–13 carries at least Medium risk; none is doctrine-thin.

Section 5 — Enoch’s Prophecy and the Apostles’ Warning (Jude 1:14–19)

Cites non-canonical prophetic material (Enoch) as authoritative, then recalls prior apostolic warning about last-days scoffers and characterizes the false teachers as devoid of the Spirit.

DoctrineSupporting Passage(s)RiskTranslation RiskReview Routing
Apostolic Deposit and the Authority of ScriptureJude 1:14, 1:17HighCiting Enoch-tradition material as true prophetic content raises a bounded-canon question; Chinese readers may otherwise assume Scripture is one sage-text (经) among many equally authoritative ancient writings.Human theologian
Old Testament Warnings as Types (angelic-host imagery)Jude 1:14 (千万圣者)High”Holy myriads” (angelic host) must be distinguished from 圣徒 (the church) — different referents despite shared root character 圣.Human theologian
Last-Days Scoffers, Foretold by True ProphecyJude 1:17–18Medium末世 risks conflation with secular apocalyptic pop-culture tropes; must anchor to the biblical eschatological framework tied to Christ’s return.Native speaker review
Worldliness and the Absence of the SpiritJude 1:19High血气 contains the otherwise-forbidden character 气 inside a fixed idiom (natural humanity); requires a clarifying note distinguishing it from qì-cultivation. “Not having the Spirit” must use the mandatory 圣灵 compound, never bare 灵.Human theologian

Coverage note: Verses 15–16 (execute judgment, convict, grumblers, flattering for advantage) extend the Judgment on Ungodly False Teachers doctrine already logged in Section 4 and are not re-tabulated as a new doctrine; the flattering-for-advantage phrase (1:16) carries a High sub-risk noted in 08_core_glossary.md B2 for its collision with 面子/给面子 face-giving dynamics and must be flagged during Phase 2 segment review under that doctrine’s existing routing.

Section 6 — Exhortation: Build Up, Pray, Show Mercy (Jude 1:20–23)

The letter’s positive pastoral counter-instruction: build one another up in the faith, pray in the Spirit, keep in God’s love, wait for mercy, and rescue the wavering with discernment.

DoctrineSupporting Passage(s)RiskTranslation RiskReview Routing
Contending for the Faith Once Delivered (continued — “most holy faith”)Jude 1:20Critical至圣的真道 compounds the πίστις-sense risk with the 圣洁/成圣 Neo-Confucian self-cultivation risk; requires the same forensic-deposit clarification as 1:3.Human theologian
Eternal Life and Assurance of Final SalvationJude 1:21High永生 must be sharply distinguished from Daoist longevity/immortality-seeking (长生不老); a relational, mercy-received gift, not a self-attained extension of life.Human theologian
Kept by God and Presented Blameless (protective branch, “keep yourselves in God’s love”)Jude 1:21High保守 here is reflexive (believers keeping themselves) yet grounded in God’s prior keeping (1:1); must not be read as self-achieved security apart from God’s love.Human theologian
Mercy and Rescue of the WaveringJude 1:21, 1:22–23High怜悯 must never be equated with 慈悲 (Buddhist bodhisattva/Guanyin universal compassion); 存疑心的人 must never be equated with 未信的人 (outsiders) — these are unsettled insiders.Human theologian

Coverage note: All four verses are load-bearing for the curriculum’s core passage (Jude 1:3–23 endpoint falls at v. 23); no thin verses in this section.

Section 7 — Doxology (Jude 1:24–25)

The letter’s closing benediction, asserting God’s power to keep believers and present them blameless, followed by a fourfold ascription of glory.

DoctrineSupporting Passage(s)RiskTranslation RiskReview Routing
Kept by God and Presented Blameless (culminating protective statement)Jude 1:24High无瑕无疵 (present blameless) is a status conferred by God’s keeping power, not self-achieved moral perfection — parallel to the baseline’s Sanctification caution. 不失脚 pairs with 保守 in the protective sense.Human theologian
Doxology and God’s Preserving PowerJude 1:24–25Critical独一的神我们的救主 combines the baseline’s Critical 神 entry with exclusive monotheism language; “through Jesus Christ our Lord” simultaneously asserts exclusive Christological mediation. Softening either term undermines the doxology’s central claim.Human theologian

Coverage note: This final section, though only two verses, carries the letter’s second Critical-tier doctrine and closes the highest-density risk thread (τηρέω/φυλάσσω) begun in Section 1. Both verses require theologian review in full.

Total unique doctrines tracked: 19, matching doctrine_risk_registry.json exactly (Critical: 4; High: 9; Medium: 5; Low: 1). No chapter, verse, or registry doctrine is unaccounted for. Jude’s single-chapter structure means “full-book coverage” is satisfied by the seven-section verse-by-verse walk above rather than a chapter list; every verse from 1:1 through 1:25 is represented in exactly one section table, with cross-section continuations (e.g., the τηρέω word-family across Sections 1, 3, 4, 6, 7; the judgment vocabulary across Sections 3, 4, 5) explicitly flagged rather than silently repeated as new doctrines.

This document must be read alongside doctrine_risk_registry.json (Jude edition), which it extends with section-level translation-risk framing, and 08_core_glossary.md, which supplies the term-level glossary underlying each doctrine’s translation risk. It must never assign a risk tier, doctrine name, or review routing inconsistent with the registry.

Critical Risk Doctrines

Contending for the Faith Once Delivered

Mandarin name: 竭力为一次交付的真道争辩
Key terms: contend for, the faith, once for all, delivered, saints
Review routing: Human theologian

CRITICAL: this doctrine’s core noun, πίστις, must be rendered 真道 (the closed, transmitted deposit of apostolic doctrine) and NOT 信心 (personal trust, the Romans-established sense of the same Greek word) — collapsing the two senses either reduces ‘the faith’ to a private trust-feeling with no fixed content, or reduces personal trust in Christ to a memorized rulebook. Compounding this, ‘delivered’ (交付) must never be rendered 传承 (chuánchéng), the Chan Buddhist/Confucian master-to-disciple lineage-transmission term in which each generation’s teacher may reinterpret or add to the teaching — the opposite of Jude’s closed, unrepeatable deposit.

Grace Perverted into License

Mandarin name: 将神的恩典变为放纵情欲的机会
Key terms: grace, licentiousness, deny
Review routing: Human theologian

CRITICAL: extends the baseline’s Critical Grace doctrine. 恩典 must never be taught as though it inherently licenses sin; Jude 1:4 depicts a specific abuse of true grace by false teachers turning it into 放纵情欲, not a native property of 恩典 itself. The same passage denies Christ’s exclusive Lordship (不认…主), directly echoing — as a negation — the Romans 10:9 confession 耶稣是主, and both risks must be taught together so the false teachers’ error is seen as one integrated act of rebellion, not two unrelated errors.

Denial of Christ’s Exclusive Lordship

Mandarin name: 否认基督独一的主权
Key terms: only Sovereign, Lord, deny
Review routing: Human theologian

CRITICAL: extends the baseline’s Critical Lordship of Christ doctrine as its negative mirror-image. 独一的主宰 (only Sovereign) must be read as the personal God’s/Christ’s exclusive, relational sovereignty, never as an impersonal fate-controlling force (命运的主宰, a common everyday Mandarin collocation). The false teachers’ 不认 (‘deny,’ 1:4) and 轻慢主治的 (‘reject authority,’ 1:8, root-linked to κύριος) must be taught as direct repudiations of the very confession — 耶稣是主 — that the baseline identifies as the salvation confession in Romans 10:9.

Doxology and God’s Preserving Power

Mandarin name: 颂赞神保守的大能
Key terms: the only God our Savior, glory, majesty, dominion, authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord
Review routing: Human theologian

CRITICAL: this doxology directly reuses the baseline’s Critical 神 entry, intensified by 独一的 (‘the only’), and the baseline’s Critical Lordship-of-Christ entry (耶稣基督我们的主) in the same breath — the closing verses of Jude assert exclusive monotheism and exclusive Christological mediation (‘through Jesus Christ our Lord’) simultaneously, and any softening of either term (e.g., reading 神 as one deity among many, or 主 as an honorific rather than exclusive Lordship) would undermine the doxology’s central claim that all preserving power belongs to this God alone. The fourfold attribute list (荣耀/威严/能力/权柄) must also avoid drifting toward impersonal cosmic-power language (cf. the baseline’s providence caution against 天意/命运).

High Risk Doctrines

Apostolic Deposit and the Authority of Scripture

Mandarin name: 使徒所传的根基与圣经的权柄
Key terms: apostles, remember, Enoch, prophesied
Review routing: Human theologian

Jude appeals to prior apostolic warning (1:17) and cites material from the Enoch tradition, outside the Hebrew canon, as authoritative prophetic content (1:14) — this raises a canonical-authority question distinct from, but related to, ordinary 预言/先知 vocabulary. Chinese readers whose only category for authoritative ancient wisdom-texts is the Confucian Classics (经, jīng) or the Daoist Daodejing may assume Jude’s citation practice implies Scripture is one sage-text among many equally authoritative ancient writings; teaching must clarify the specific, bounded reasoning by which Jude can cite this material as true without expanding the canon.

Divine Calling

Mandarin name: 神的呼召
Key terms: called, beloved, kept for Jesus Christ
Review routing: Human theologian

Reused from the Romans baseline. Jude addresses its recipients as 蒙召的 (1:1); must be kept distinct from 天命 (Mandate of Heaven), the classical Chinese concept of an impersonal cosmic mandate legitimizing status — God’s call to the readers is personal and relational, not an impersonal cosmic entitlement.

Sainthood (Recipients of the Once-Delivered Faith)

Mandarin name: 蒙召作圣徒,领受一次交付的真道
Key terms: saints, beloved
Review routing: Human theologian

Reused from the Romans baseline. 圣徒 designates all recipients of the letter corporately; must not be read through the lens of 圣人 (shèngrén, the elevated Confucian sage category reserved for a tiny number of morally perfected figures such as Confucius, 至圣).

Judgment on Ungodly False Teachers

Mandarin name: 神对不敬虔假教师的审判
Key terms: ungodly, crept in secretly, condemnation, judgment, blaspheme, reject authority, scoffers, worldly/soulish
Review routing: Human theologian

The recurring descriptor 不敬虔 must be anchored to reverence toward the one true God specifically; Chinese readers’ primary cultural referent for ‘reverence’ is often 孝敬 (filial reverence to ancestors/parents) or ritual reverence toward temple deities, which could be satisfied without any reference to the God of Jude. Additionally, the judgment vocabulary (刑罚/审判) must never be conflated with 报应 (bàoyìng), impersonal karmic retribution operating automatically across a person’s fortune or lineage — Jude describes a personal God’s specific forensic verdict against specific unrepented sin and conduct, not an automatic cosmic mechanism.

Old Testament Warnings as Types (Israel, Angels, Sodom)

Mandarin name: 旧约的警戒预像:以色列人、天使、所多玛
Key terms: destroyed, angels, eternal chains, Sodom and Gomorrah, eternal fire, kept (custodial)
Review routing: Human theologian

This triad has no native cultural counterpart in Chinese historical or religious tradition, so the typological logic (past privilege — deliverance from Egypt, angelic rank, residence near God’s covenant people — does not exempt from future judgment for unbelief/rebellion) requires explicit background teaching, or Chinese readers with low OT-narrative literacy will read these as three disconnected ancient anecdotes rather than one deliberate warning pattern. Additionally, 永火 (eternal fire, 1:7) must be distinguished from Buddhist/folk depictions of hell-fire torment (地狱) as a temporary purificatory ordeal from which release remains possible through merit or ritual — Jude’s judgment is fixed and final, never a stage toward eventual release.

Worldliness and the Absence of the Spirit

Mandarin name: 属乎血气、没有圣灵的世俗心态
Key terms: worldly/soulish, not having the Spirit, cause divisions
Review routing: Human theologian

The idiomatic CUV compound 血气 (xuèqì, describing merely natural, un-Spirit-filled human existence) contains the character 气 (qì), which the baseline explicitly forbids in isolation as a rendering for ‘power of God’ because of its associations with Chinese medicine, qigong, and Daoist/martial-arts cosmology. Every occurrence must carry a note clarifying this fixed idiom is unrelated to qì-cultivation concepts. The clause ‘not having the Spirit’ must use the mandatory 圣灵 compound (never bare 灵, which covers ancestral/folk spirits in Chinese usage) — this is the sharpest statement in the letter that the false teachers lack the Holy Spirit altogether.

Mercy and Rescue of the Wavering

Mandarin name: 怜悯并搭救心存疑惑的人
Key terms: mercy, wavering, save, snatching from the fire, garment stained by the flesh
Review routing: Human theologian

怜悯 must never be equated with 慈悲 (cíbēi), the Buddhist term for bodhisattva/Guanyin compassion — a universal, impersonal, dispositional benevolence flowing from enlightened detachment from self, extended indiscriminately to all sentient beings. Biblical 怜悯 is the personal compassion of the one true God, and derivatively of his people, directed at specific persons (存疑心的人, ‘the wavering’) in specific distress, flowing from covenant relationship. 存疑心的人 must also never be equated with 未信的人 (‘unbelievers’/outsiders) — these are unsettled covenant-community insiders requiring patient rescue, and the pastoral posture commanded differs accordingly.

Kept by God and Presented Blameless

Mandarin name: 被神保守,无瑕无疵地站在他面前
Key terms: kept (protective), kept (custodial), without stumbling, present blameless
Review routing: Human theologian

The single highest-density translation risk in Jude: the τηρέω/φυλάσσω (‘keep’) word-family must be tracked by theological sense at every occurrence, never mechanically. Believers’ protective keeping (保守, 1:1/1:21/1:24) must never be interchanged with the custodial keeping-for-judgment of fallen angels and darkness (存留, 1:6 twice/1:13) — collapsing the two branches into one undifferentiated Mandarin verb would erase the doctrinal contrast between two opposite outcomes (preservation unto blessing vs. custody unto judgment). 无瑕无疵 (present blameless) must be taught as a status conferred entirely by God’s keeping power, not a moral perfection self-achieved through personal cultivation — directly paralleling the baseline’s Critical Sanctification caution against Neo-Confucian self-cultivation into sagehood (修身/修炼).

Eternal Life and Assurance of Final Salvation

Mandarin name: 永生的确据
Key terms: eternal life, mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ
Review routing: Human theologian

永生 must be sharply distinguished from Daoist longevity/immortality-seeking (长生不老, chángshēng bùlǎo), a prominent traditional Chinese religious and popular-cultural aspiration pursued through elixirs, alchemy, qigong practice, and ritual cultivation. Biblical 永生 is a relational, resurrection-life gift received from God through Christ’s mercy, not a technique-attained extension or preservation of present bodily life achieved through personal spiritual effort — a distinction that must be taught alongside the baseline’s existing cautions against 修炼/修身 (sanctification) and 功德 (grace).

Medium Risk Doctrines

Apostasy Patterns: The Way of Cain, Error of Balaam, Rebellion of Korah

Mandarin name: 该隐的道路、巴兰的错谬、可拉的背叛
Key terms: way of Cain, error of Balaam, rebellion of Korah
Review routing: Native speaker review

A second OT-type triad distinct from Israel/Angels/Sodom, naming three specific apostasy patterns (murderous envy/false worship, profit-driven ministry, rebellion against authority). None of these narratives has any native Chinese cultural counterpart; the risk is under-explanation leaving the typological argument opaque, not mistranslation of the established CUV proper names themselves.

Supernatural Conflict and Restraint in Confronting Evil

Mandarin name: 属灵争战中的节制:米迦勒与魔鬼的争辩
Key terms: Michael the archangel, the devil, dispute, rebuke
Review routing: Native speaker review

魔鬼 (the devil) contains 鬼 (guǐ, ‘ghost’), carrying dense folk-religious associations (wandering ghosts, hungry ghosts 饿鬼, unworshipped ancestor spirits); teaching must clarify this names one specific, personal, fallen created being in rebellion against God, not a folk-spirit class placated through ritual offerings. 米迦勒 must likewise be clarified as a created angelic being, not a deity comparable to a folk city-god (城隍).

Corruption of Christian Fellowship (Love Feasts)

Mandarin name: 爱席团契遭败坏
Key terms: love feasts, fellowship
Review routing: Native speaker review

爱席 (the church’s communal fellowship meal) must be clearly distinguished from ancestor-veneration and folk-deity offering-feasts (祭祀宴), ritual meals in which food is presented to spirits/ancestors for their benefit. The Christian love feast is horizontal fellowship among living believers in Christ, corrupted here by the false teachers’ self-serving conduct — not a vertical offering-meal directed toward spirits.

Last-Days Scoffers, Foretold by True Prophecy

Mandarin name: 末世讥诮的人,早已被预言所警戒
Key terms: last time, scoffers, prophesied
Review routing: Native speaker review

末世 risks conflation with secular apocalyptic pop-culture tropes common in contemporary Chinese fiction and film (generic doomsday scenarios); teaching must anchor the term to the specific biblical eschatological framework tied to Christ’s return and final judgment, and to genuine apostolic prophecy rather than generic prediction.

Epistolary Identity: Author, Recipients, and Greeting

Mandarin name: 书信的作者、受信人与问安
Key terms: Jude (author), servant, James, called, beloved (state), mercy peace and love multiplied
Review routing: Native speaker review

犹大 is the identical CUV transliteration for both this letter’s author and Judas Iscariot; a standing disambiguation note is required at first introduction of the book so readers do not confuse the two figures. 仆人 (servant) also carries a socially low, servile connotation in ordinary Mandarin that could obscure its intended sense as an honored apostolic self-designation of total devotion to Christ.

Low Risk Doctrines

Natural-World Imagery Describing False Teachers

Mandarin name: 描绘假教师的自然界比喻
Key terms: hidden reefs, waterless clouds, fruitless autumn trees, twice dead, uprooted, wild waves, wandering stars
Review routing: Automated review

A chain of vivid, largely self-explanatory figurative language with ready natural Mandarin equivalents; minor risk only that translators substitute an unrelated local four-character idiom carrying its own unrelated cultural narrative in place of Jude’s specific judgment-imagery, or that ‘wandering stars’ be read through an astrological fate-reading (占星) lens rather than as a picture of moral instability.
