Doctrine: Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture
Category: Scripture
New coined compound for θεόπνευστος (3:16), the single greatest translation risk in the letter. অনুপ্রাণিত alone under-translates it into the subjective ‘inspiration’ used for a poet or activist. মানুষের রচিত (‘man-composed’) is the direct doctrinal opposite and must never appear as a gloss.
God
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Ishshor
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Used throughout 2 Timothy; also the presumed sole referent behind φιλόθεος (‘lover of God’) in the 3:2-4 vice list contrast term.

Transliteration: aropito dharmikota
Doctrine: Justification by Faith
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Not directly quoted in 2 Timothy; retained solely as the doctrinal reference point for the mandatory distinguishing note required at 4:8’s ধার্মিকতার মুকুট (crown of righteousness) — see crown_of_righteousness entry.
Incarnation
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: dehodharon
Doctrine: Incarnation
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. NEVER অবতার. Retained as the comparison anchor for handling ἐπιφάνεια/প্রকাশ (see appearing entry) at 1:10, 4:1, 4:8, to prevent Christ’s two appearings from being misread as a Hindu-avatar-style repeated, cyclical descent.
Jesus
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Jishu
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. NEVER ঈসা. Used throughout 2 Timothy.
Justification
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: dharmik bole gonyo howa
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Not directly quoted in 2 Timothy but retained as the anchor concept for the mandatory teaching note required wherever ধার্মিকতার মুকুট (crown of righteousness, 4:8) appears, to prevent readers from concluding righteousness before God is earned by perseverance.
Lord Stood By And Strengthened
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: provu amar pashe dariyechilen o amake shamorthyo diyechilen

Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Frequent throughout 2 Timothy (1:2, 1:8, 2:19, 4:1, 4:8, 4:17-18, 4:22); the closing benediction (4:22) is a fixed formula requiring cross-document consistency.
Messiah
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Khrishto
Doctrine: Messianic Promise
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Used throughout 2 Timothy paired with যীশু (e.g., 2:8 ‘Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David’).
Power Of God
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Ishshorer shamorthyo
Doctrine: Power of God for Salvation
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. NEVER শক্তি (Shakta-Hindu goddess-power collision). Recurs repeatedly across 2 Timothy’s empowerment-in-suffering passages: 1:7-8, 2:1 (‘be strengthened by the grace’), 3:5 (‘denying its power’), 4:17 (‘the Lord strengthened me’).
Preach The Word
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: bochon prochar kor
Doctrine: The Charge to Preach the Word
Rejected alternatives:
Category: Ministry
New term for κήρυξον τὸν λόγον (4:2), the curriculum’s central charge verse. বচন (established Bible term for divine message) must never be replaced by generic কথা. Render identically at every occurrence across all curriculum documents.
Rescue Into Heavenly Kingdom
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: provu amake shokol mondo kaj theke uddhar korben ebong tar sworgio rajje nirapode niye jaben
Doctrine: Assurance of Reward
Category: Reward
New term for ῥύσεταί με ὁ κύριος … Joins পরিত্রাণ-root and the ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য convention (see heavenly_kingdom).
Resurrection
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: punorutthan
Doctrine: Resurrection of Christ
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. NEVER পুনর্জন্ম. True doctrine at 2:8 (‘risen from the dead’); Hymenaeus and Philetus’s false claim at 2:18 (‘the resurrection has already happened’) uses the same root and MUST be explicitly marked as reported heresy, never presented neutrally.
Righteousness
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: dharmikota
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. NEVER ধর্ম. Appears at 2:22, 3:16 (training in righteousness), and 4:8 (crown of righteousness) — the two latter senses (formative training / eschatological reward) must never be collapsed into the forensic-justification sense; see imputed_righteousness and crown_of_righteousness entries.

Transliteration: poritran
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Recurs at 1:9, 2:10, 3:15 (‘wisdom for salvation’ — see wisdom_for_salvation entry), 4:18 (‘bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom’).
Scripture
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: pobitrashastro
Doctrine: Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture
Category: Scripture
New term. ধর্মগ্রন্থ is a generic interfaith label shared with Hindu shastras/Puranas and the Qur’an; শাস্ত্র alone denotes any authoritative Bengali treatise, including Hindu shastric literature. Must be used identically at every occurrence, including 1:13’s echo (সুস্থ বচন cross-reference).
Son Of God
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Ishshorer Putro
Doctrine: Sonship of Christ
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Not directly quoted in 2 Timothy’s text but retained as the doctrinal presupposition behind 2:8’s resurrection/Davidic-descent Christology; use if derived teaching material expands on Christ’s identity.
Strengthened By Grace
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: onugrohe shobol hou
Doctrine: Grace
Original: ἐνδυναμοῦ ἐν τῇ χάριτι
Category: Grace
New term for ἐνδυναμοῦ ἐν τῇ χάριτι (2:1). Contains অনুগ্রহ and the সামর্থ্য root; NEVER শক্তি-based verb forms. Ministry endurance is grace-fueled empowerment, not self-generated willpower.
Training In Righteousness
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: dharmikotay shikkhadan
Doctrine: Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture
Rejected alternatives:
Original: παιδεία ἡ ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ
Category: Scripture
New compound for παιδεία ἡ ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ (3:16). Contains ধার্মিকতা; never substitute ধর্ম, which would turn ‘training in righteousness’ into ‘training in religion/duty’.
Works Vs Grace
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: kaj
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives:
Original: ἔργα
Category: Grace
New term for ἔργα (1:9), continuing the baseline’s grace-versus-works antithesis. কর্ম is flagged and avoided: it risks a karma-merit-accounting reading in Bengali Hindu usage, directly contradicting grace-apart-from-merit.
High Risk Terms
Appearing
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: prokash
Doctrine: Assurance of Reward
Rejected alternatives: avatar-framed rendering
Original: ἐπιφάνεια
Category: Christology
New term for ἐπιφάνεια (1:10, 4:1, 4:8). Spans Christ’s past manifestation and future singular return — two poles of one linear historical event, never a recurring cycle. Must not be assimilated to the Hindu avatar framework; cross-reference the baseline’s incarnation caution (never অবতার).
Called
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: ahuto
Doctrine: Divine Calling
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Appears in the compressed ‘saved… called with a holy calling’ statement at 1:9, echoing Romans 8:28-30.
Calling
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: ahban
Doctrine: Divine Calling
Inherited from Romans package. Noun form; see 1:9.
Corrupted Disqualified
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: noshto mon, bishwasher bishoye ojogyo
Doctrine: Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days
Category: Apostasy
New term for κατεφθαρμένοι τὸν νοῦν, ἀδόκιμοι περὶ τὴν πίστιν (3:8), the direct opposite of the ‘approved worker’ of 2:15. Contains বিশ্বাস; retain the object as ‘the faith’ (apostolic content), not a generic moral failing.
Covenant
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: niyom
Doctrine: Davidic Covenant
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Background concept for the Davidic Covenant doctrine underlying 2:8’s ‘seed of David’ (see seed_of_david entry).

Transliteration: dharmikotar mukut
Doctrine: Assurance of Reward
Original: ὁ τῆς δικαιοσύνης στέφανος
Category: Reward
New term for ὁ τῆς δικαιοσύνης στέφανος (4:8). Contains ধার্মিকতা (Critical, forensic-justification term). MANDATORY teaching note required at every occurrence distinguishing this eschatological reward for a life of perseverance from the once-for-all forensic justification received by faith alone apart from works (see imputed_righteousness); must never suggest righteousness before God is earned by endurance.
Election
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Ishshorer monownoyon
Doctrine: Effectual Calling
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package (noun form). The adjectival form used at 2:10 (‘for the sake of the elect’) is মনোনীত — see the_elect entry. Never karma-determined fate.
Entrusted Deposit
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: gochchhito dhon
Doctrine: Faithful Transmission of the Gospel
Rejected alternatives:
Original: παραθήκη
Category: Transmission
New term for παραθήκη (1:12, 1:14). আমানত is firmly rejected: this Perso-Arabic loanword carries a prominent Islamic ethical-trust connotation that would import a different ethical frame than Paul’s treasure-for-safekeeping-and-transmission image. Anchor term of Faithful Transmission of the Gospel.
Eternal Glory
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: anonto mohima
Doctrine: Glory of God
New compound for δόξα αἰώνιος (2:10). Built on baseline মহিমা (High); adds an eschatological horizon relevant to Assurance of Reward.
Faith
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: bishwas
Doctrine: Faith
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Recurs at 1:5 (‘sincere faith’), 1:13, 3:14-15 (object = Christ Jesus explicit), 4:7 (‘kept the faith’).

Category: Reward
New term for the perfect-tense triad Contains বিশ্বাস; τηρέω (‘kept’) must convey persevering guardianship of the faith, echoing রক্ষা করা/গচ্ছিত ধন vocabulary from chapter 1.
Glory Forever Amen
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: tar-i mohima anontokal hok. amen.
Doctrine: Glory of God
Category: Doxology
New compound closing doxology for ᾧ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων, ἀμήν (4:18). Contains মহিমা (High) and the established transliteration আমেন. Must match the standard doxological formula used consistently across the curriculum.
Glory
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: mohima
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. NEVER তেজ. Appears at 2:10 (‘eternal glory’, see eternal_glory entry) and 4:18 (closing doxology, see glory_forever_amen entry).
God Remains Faithful
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: bishwosto thaken
Doctrine: God’s Faithfulness amid Human Faithlessness
Original: πιστὸς μένει
Category: Assurance
New term for πιστὸς μένει (2:13). πιστός here = reliable/trustworthy in character, distinct from the believing-sense of বিশ্বাস; must not be rendered বিশ্বাসী.
Godliness
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: bhokti
Doctrine: Godliness and Devotion
Original: εὐσέβεια
Category: Apostasy
New term (established mainstream usage) for εὐσέβεια (3:5, 3:12). Deeply associated with Hindu bhakti devotionalism (personal, emotional devotion to a chosen deity, expressed through kirtan/ritual). Retained for consistency with mainstream Bengali Christian usage, but every occurrence requires an explicit anchoring note that the referent is the one true God of Scripture — 3:5 specifically warns against godliness-in-form with no true divine referent.
Gods Faithful Amid Faithlessness
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: obishwashi holeo tini bishwosto thaken
Doctrine: God’s Faithfulness amid Human Faithlessness
Category: Assurance
New term for εἰ ἀπιστοῦμεν, ἐκεῖνος πιστὸς μένει (2:13). Must be distinguished from the Islamic view that one’s final standing before God cannot be known with certainty before death, and from a karmic earned-outcome framework; assurance rests entirely on God’s unchanging character.
Gods Foundation Stands
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Ishshorer bhitti otol thake
Doctrine: God’s Faithfulness amid Human Faithlessness
Category: Assurance
New term for ὁ θεμέλιος τοῦ θεοῦ ἕστηκεν (2:19). Assurance rests in God’s unchanging knowledge and purpose, never an impersonal ‘things will work out’ sentiment.
Gospel
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: susomachar
Doctrine: Gospel
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Load-bearing for 2 Timothy’s Faithful Transmission of the Gospel and The Charge to Preach the Word (4:2 ‘preach the word’, 4:5 ‘do the work of an evangelist’ = সুসমাচার প্রচারক).
Grace
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: anugroho
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Recurs at 1:2, 1:9 (grace-vs-works antithesis, use কাজ not কর্ম for ‘works’), 2:1 (‘be strengthened by the grace’), 4:22 (fixed benediction).
Holy
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: pobitro
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Appears at 1:9 (‘holy calling’) and underlies 2:21’s ‘sanctified’ vessel.
Incorruption
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: okkhoyota
Doctrine: Resurrection of Christ
Rejected alternatives:
Original: ἀφθαρσία
Category: Eschatology
New term for ἀφθαρσία (1:10). অমরত্ব implies an inherently deathless soul, risking affirmation of the Hindu Vedantic ātman doctrine. অক্ষয়তা frames incorruption as a resurrection-body gift disclosed through the gospel, not an inherent soul-property.
Judge Living And Dead
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: jibito o mritoder bichar kora
Doctrine: The Charge to Preach the Word
Category: Eschatology
New term for κρίνειν ζῶντας καὶ νεκρούς (4:1). Christ is a personal judge; must not be read as impersonal karmic reckoning.
Last Days
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shesh kale
Doctrine: Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days
Original: ἐν ἐσχάταις ἡμέραις
Category: Apostasy
New term for ἐν ἐσχάταις ἡμέραις (3:1). Must be understood as the present, already-inaugurated church age, not exclusively a future final crisis, or readers may dismiss 3:1-9’s warnings as irrelevant to their own moment.
Loved His Appearing
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: tar prokashke prem korechhe
Doctrine: Assurance of Reward
Category: Reward
New term for πᾶσι τοῖς ἠγαπηκόσι τὴν ἐπιφάνειαν αὐτοῦ (4:8). Universalizes the reward to all who long for Christ’s return, not Paul alone. See appearing entry.
Loved Present World
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: bortoman jagatke prem kore
Doctrine: Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days
Rejected alternatives:
Category: Apostasy
New term for ἀγαπήσας τὸν νῦν αἰῶνα (4:10, Demas). যুগ specifically denotes one of Hindu cosmology’s four cyclical cosmic ages and would misleadingly frame Paul’s linear ‘present age’ as cyclical time; জগৎ (‘world’) is required.
Poured Out Libation
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: utshorgorupe dhele deoya
Doctrine: Sacrificial Offering of Life
Rejected alternatives: তর্পণ-style rendering
Original: σπένδομαι
Category: Reward
New term for σπένδομαι (4:6). Must be anchored clearly as Old Testament sacrificial drink-offering imagery (Numbers 28; Philippians 2:17), never as Hindu ritual libation (tarpan) offered to ancestors/deities. Mandatory translator note recommended.
Repentance
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: mon-poriborton
Doctrine: Repentance and Restoration
Original: μετάνοια
Category: Apostasy
New term for μετάνοια (2:25). Must convey a decisive, God-granted reorientation of the whole person toward God, not mere intellectual reconsideration.
Righteous Judge
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: nyayobicharok
Doctrine: Assurance of Reward
Original: δίκαιος κριτής
Category: Reward
New term for δίκαιος κριτής (4:8). ন্যায় functions here adjectivally (describing the judge’s fairness) — a distinct grammatical role from the baseline’s rejection of ন্যায় as a noun-substitute for righteousness (ধার্মিকতা). Flagged for mandatory native-speaker confirmation at every occurrence.
Rightly Handle Word Of Truth
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shottyer bochon nirbhulbhabe byakhya kora
Doctrine: Guarding Sound Doctrine

Category: Doctrine Guarding
New paraphrase for ὀρθοτομέω τὸν λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας (2:15), a craftsman’s precision metaphor with no single-word Bengali equivalent. Must retain the sense of exact, non-distorting handling, contrasted with false teachers.
Sanctification
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: pobitrikoron
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Underlies the vessel-cleansing metaphor of 2:21; see cleanse_oneself entry for the companion new term.
Seed Of David

Inherited from Romans package. Appears at 2:8, part of the creedal ‘remember Jesus Christ’ summary Paul asks Timothy to hold onto.

Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Minor occurrence at 3:6 (‘women burdened with sins’).
Sincere Faith
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: nishkopot bishwas
Doctrine: Faith
Original: ἀνυπόκριτος πίστις
Category: Faith
New term for ἀνυπόκριτος πίστις (1:5). Contains বিশ্বাস; Timothy’s inherited faith must not be read as mere family religious custom.
Solemn Charge
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: dridhobhabe adesh deoya
Doctrine: The Charge to Preach the Word
Rejected alternatives:
Category: Ministry
New term for διαμαρτύρομαι (4:1), a formal, sworn charge given before God and Christ as witnesses. Must retain the sworn, binding-commission register.
Sound Doctrine
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shustho shikkha
Doctrine: Guarding Sound Doctrine
Rejected alternatives:
Category: Doctrine Guarding
New term for ὑγιαίνουσα διδασκαλία (1:13, 4:3). ধর্মমত collides with ধর্ম’s dual Hindu-dharma/generic-religion sense. নির্ভুল শিক্ষা is safe but loses ὑγιαίνω’s health metaphor (contrasted with the gangrene image at 2:17). Must stay paired with সুস্থ বচন.
Sound Words
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shustho bochon
Doctrine: Guarding Sound Doctrine
Original: ὑγιαίνοντες λόγοι
Category: Doctrine Guarding

The Elect
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: monōnīto
Doctrine: Effectual Calling and Election
Adjectival form of the baseline noun ঈশ্বরের মনোনয়ন, for ἐκλεκτός (2:10, ‘for the sake of the elect’). God’s sovereign, personal choice, never karma-determined destiny.
Turn Away
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: mukh firiye neoya
Doctrine: Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days
Original: ἀποστρέφω
Category: Apostasy
New term for ἀποστρέφω (1:15, 4:4). Must retain willful, culpable rejection of previously-held truth, not innocent forgetting or gradual drift.
Unashamed Witness
Approved rendering: লজ্জিত হওয়া (negated)
Transliteration: lojjito howa
Doctrine: Honor and Shame in Gospel Witness
Original: ἐπαισχύνομαι (negated)
Category: Suffering
New term for ἐπαισχύνομαι (1:8, 1:12, 1:16). Honor/shame dynamics are unusually salient in both Bengali Hindu and Muslim communal-identity contexts; public association with an imprisoned or persecuted Christian carries real social cost, so this must retain full social stakes, not flatten to private embarrassment.
Universal Persecution Promise
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: jara Khrishto Jishu-te bhoktipurno jibon japon korte chay, tara shobai nirjatito hobe

Category: Suffering
Universal ‘all/everyone’ claim; must not be softened to an exceptional case per the baseline’s universality-preservation rule.
Wander Off

Transliteration: bipothe chole jaoya
Doctrine: Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days
Original: ἐκτρέπομαι
Category: Apostasy
New term for ἐκτρέπομαι (4:4), a road/path-departure metaphor pairing with turn_away.

Transliteration: mrityuke biluptho/nishkriyo kora
Doctrine: Resurrection of Christ
Original: καταργήσαντος τὸν θάνατον

Transliteration: anontokal age theke-i
Doctrine: Grace
Original: πρὸ χρόνων αἰωνίων
Category: Grace
New term for πρὸ χρόνων αἰωνίων (1:9). Grace planned in eternity past, not a reactive divine improvisation.
Cleanse Oneself
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: nijeke shuddho kora
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives:
Original: ἐκκαθαίρω ἑαυτόν
Category: Sanctification
New term for ἐκκαθαίρω ἑαυτόν (2:21), applied to the vessel-of-honor metaphor. শুচি is rejected (already excluded by the baseline for ‘holy’, ritual-purity/Hindu shuddhi collision); শুদ্ধ lacks that specific ritual-purification technical sense.
Clear Conscience
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: bishuddho bibek
Doctrine: Faithful Transmission of the Gospel
Original: καθαρὰ συνείδησις
Category: Ethics
New term for καθαρὰ συνείδησις (1:3), grounding Paul’s authority to charge Timothy.
Complete And Equipped
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: poripurno o susojjito
Doctrine: Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture
Rejected alternatives:
Original: ἄρτιος / ἐξηρτισμένος
Category: Scripture
New fixed pair for ἄρτιος/ἐξηρτισμένος (3:17). সিদ্ধ carries the Hindu/Buddhist ‘siddha’ sense of self-attained yogic perfection and is firmly rejected.
Correction
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: songshodhon
Doctrine: Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture
Original: ἐπανόρθωσις

Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Diyabol
Doctrine: Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days
Original: διάβολος
Category: Apostasy
New term for διάβολος (2:26, 3:3 adj.). No direct lexical collision with Islamic Shaitan/Iblis, but a brief comparative teaching note distinguishing this figure’s specific role (ensnaring through false doctrine) from generic folk usage is recommended for derived teaching materials.
Empty Babble
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: osar bochon
Doctrine: Guarding Sound Doctrine
Original: βέβηλοι κενοφωνίαι
Category: Doctrine Guarding
New term for βέβηλοι κενοφωνίαι (2:16), compared to gangrene spreading through a body.
Endure Hardship
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: kosto shoyho kor
Doctrine: Perseverance under Suffering
Rejected alternatives:
Original: κακοπαθέω / συγκακοπαθέω
Category: Suffering
New term for κακοπαθέω/συγκακοπαθέω (1:8, 2:3, 4:5). তপস্যা strongly evokes Hindu ascetic self-mortification undertaken to earn merit/spiritual power — precisely the works-merit framework this grace-fueled endurance (2:1) must avoid. Must not be reduced to mere inconvenience; covers real persecution.
Endure Persevere
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shoyho kora / sthir thaka
Doctrine: Perseverance under Suffering
Original: ὑπομένω / μένω
Category: Suffering
New term for ὑπομένω/μένω (2:10, 2:12, 3:14). Must convey active, resistant persistence, not passive ‘staying put’ — the positive counterpart to turning away (4:4).

Transliteration: susomachar procharok
Doctrine: The Charge to Preach the Word
Original: εὐαγγελιστής
Category: Ministry

Doctrine: Faithful Transmission Teaching Chain
Category: Transmission
New term naming the structural mechanism of 2:2’s multi-generational chain (Paul to Timothy to trustworthy others to still others). Must preserve the chain’s multi-link structure in any teaching summary, not collapse it to a single hand-off.
Faithful Trustworthy People
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: bishwosto manush
Doctrine: Faithful Transmission of the Gospel
Rejected alternatives:
Original: πιστοῖς ἀνθρώποις
Category: Transmission
New term for πιστοῖς ἀνθρώποις (2:2). Must be বিশ্বস্ত (reliable in character), not বিশ্বাসী (believing) — conflating the two blurs the character-transmission-chain sense with saving faith.
Fulfill Ministry
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shompurnorupe shompanno kora
Doctrine: The Charge to Preach the Word
Original: πληροφορέω

Approved rendering:
Transliteration: sworgio rajjo
Doctrine: Kingdom of God / Heavenly Kingdom
New compound built on the baseline ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য convention, for τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ τὴν ἐπουράνιον (4:18), Christ’s specific heavenly kingdom. Must convey sovereign reign, not a political/territorial kingdom, and must not be heard as one deity’s heavenly domain among others (cf. Vaishnava Goloka).
In Season Out Of Season
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shomoye oshomoye
Doctrine: The Charge to Preach the Word
Original: εὐκαίρως ἀκαίρως
Category: Ministry
New idiom pair for εὐκαίρως ἀκαίρως (4:2). Natural Bengali idiom, preferred over a literal but opaque rendering.

Kingdom Of God
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Ishshorer Rajyo
Doctrine: Kingdom Mission
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. At 4:1 rendered তাঁর রাজ্য (‘his kingdom’, i.e. Christ’s); at 4:18 adapted as স্বর্গীয় রাজ্য (‘heavenly kingdom’) — see heavenly_kingdom entry. Never political/territorial.
Knowledge Of Truth
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shottyer gyan
Doctrine: Repentance and Restoration
Original: ἐπίγνωσις ἀληθείας
Category: Apostasy
New term for ἐπίγνωσις ἀληθείας (2:25, 3:7). জ্ঞান risks a jñāna/Vedantic-enlightenment misreading; must be anchored as relational recognition of revealed truth, never mystical self-realization. Never let জ্ঞান stand without an anchoring object phrase.
Laying On Of Hands
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: hat rakhar madhyome
Doctrine: Faithful Transmission of the Gospel
Original: ἐπίθεσις τῶν χειρῶν
Category: Transmission
New term for ἐπίθεσις τῶν χειρῶν (1:6). Ordination rite; keep descriptive and historically anchored to Timothy’s specific event, not a repeatable impartation formula or a merely symbolic gesture.
Man Of God
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: Ishshorer lok
Doctrine: Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture
Rejected alternatives:
New term for ἄνθρωπος τοῦ θεοῦ (3:17), gender-generic in Greek. ঈশ্বরের পুরুষ (male-marked) wrongly implies the completeness-in-Scripture promise addresses male leaders only, undercutting 3:14’s address to Timothy as one instance of every believer who ‘continues in what he has learned’. Consistent with the baseline’s precedent at পবিত্র লোক (saints).
Mercy
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: doya
Doctrine: Grace
Original: ἔλεος
Category: God
New term for ἔλεος (1:2), part of the Pastorals’ triadic greeting (grace, mercy, peace). Must be distinguished from অনুগ্রহ (grace = unmerited favor granted); দয়া = compassion shown toward suffering/need. Both must avoid পুণ্য.
Ministry
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: sebakaj
Doctrine: The Charge to Preach the Word
Original: διακονία
Category: Ministry
New term for διακονία (4:5). Retain ‘in Christ’s name and power’ framing so this is not read as generic humanitarian/NGO-style service divorced from the gospel.
Mission
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: susomachar prochar
Doctrine: Mission to the Nations
Inherited from Romans package. Root vocabulary for the compound সুসমাচার প্রচারক (‘evangelist’, 4:5) — see evangelist entry.
Myths
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: kalpokotha
Doctrine: Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days
Rejected alternatives:
Original: μῦθοι
Category: Apostasy
New term for μῦθοι (4:4). Deliberately generic; পুরাণ specifically names the Hindu Puranic corpus and would sound like a targeted denunciation of Hindu sacred narrative rather than a general category of doctrinal fabrication.
Peace
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shanti
Doctrine: Peace with God
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. Appears in the greeting formula (1:2) and at 2:22.

Transliteration: attik bor
Doctrine: Faithful Transmission of the Gospel
Original: χάρισμα τοῦ θεοῦ
Category: Ministry
Contextualized reuse of the baseline term আত্মিক বর for χάρισμα τοῦ θεοῦ (1:6). Requires a translator note specifying this occurrence names Timothy’s particular ordination gift, not the general congregational gift-list.
Spiritual Gifts
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: attik bor
Doctrine: Spiritual Gifts
Rejected alternatives:
Inherited from Romans package. At 1:6 this names Timothy’s specific ordination gift (imparted via laying on of hands), narrower than the general congregational gift-list of Romans 12; a clarifying note distinguishing the two uses is required.
Suffer
Approved rendering:

New term for πάσχω (1:12, 3:12).

Doctrine: Vice List of the Last Days
Category: Apostasy
New term for the eighteen-item catalogue (3:2-4). No single item is individually Critical, but the climactic φιλόθεος contrast presumes ঈশ্বর as the sole legitimate object of ultimate love, against which all misdirected loves — including generic religious devotion — are measured.
Vocational Metaphors
Approved rendering:
Transliteration: shoinik / protijogi / krishok
Doctrine: Vocational Metaphors for Ministry
Category: Suffering
