Doctrine Analysis
11 Doctrine Analysis — Luke 1–24 (English → Bengali)
This document fulfills PRD Phase 1 Step 4 (full doctrine matrix) and provides the chapter-by-chapter coverage ledger required by the FULL-BOOK COVERAGE mandate. It is fully consistent with assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json — the same 36 doctrine entries, the same risk tiers, and the same review routing are used throughout. No doctrine, risk tier, or routing decision in this document contradicts the registry; this document adds supporting-passage breadth and chapter-level traceability on top of it.
The core passage, Luke 4:16-21 (Jesus’ Nazareth synagogue sermon on Isaiah 61), is the theological anchor of the curriculum — it is where the messianic anointing, the release-to-captives/forgiveness wordplay crux, good news to the poor, the Jubilee background, and inaugurated fulfillment (“today”) all converge. It is not, however, the scope boundary: every chapter of Luke has been reviewed below.
Part A — Full Doctrine Matrix
| # | Doctrine | Supporting Passages (Luke) | Risk | Translation Risk Summary | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Holy Spirit’s Work in Salvation History | 1:15,35,41,67; 3:22; 4:1,14,18; 11:13; 24:49 | Critical | Never ব্রহ্ম/পরমাত্মা (impersonal Absolute/Universal Self); overshadowing (1:35) risks অবতার-style descent reading if not carefully worded as non-sexual, non-repeatable, personal divine act | Human theologian |
| 2 | Virginal Conception and the Incarnation | 1:26-38; 2:1-20 | Critical | Never অবতার; দেহধারণ conveys a permanent, unique, non-repeatable assumption of human nature | Human theologian |
| 3 | Messianic Anointing of Jesus | 3:22; 4:1,14,18; 9:20 | Critical | অভিষেক করা collides with Hindu idol-bathing and royal coronation ritual; must be explicitly tied to খ্রীষ্ট and Spirit-empowerment, not a ritual bathing image | Human theologian |
| 4 | Deity of Christ | 5:20-24; 8:22-25; 20:41-44 | Critical | Authority to forgive sins is a direct divine prerogative claim; must never be softened toward “a holy teacher” reading shared by Hindu-avatar or Muslim-prophet frameworks | Human theologian |
| 5 | Sonship of Christ | 1:32,35; 3:22,38; 4:3,9,41; 9:35 | Critical | Requires translator note distinguishing relational/eternal Sonship from biological descent, given strong Islamic doctrinal rejection of the latter | Human theologian |
| 6 | Son of Man as Christological Title | 5:24; 9:22,26,58; 12:8-10; 19:10; 21:27; 22:69; 24:7 | Critical | মনুষ্যপুত্র must retain BOTH humble/human and Daniel-7 exalted-judge senses; must not collapse into a bare self-referential idiom | Human theologian |
| 7 | Lordship of Christ | 2:11; 10:1; 19:31; 20:41-44; 24:34 | Critical | প্রভু must retain exclusive, supreme force in the Psalm 110 riddle, not read as one honorific teacher-title among others | Human theologian |
| 8 | Resurrection of Christ | 9:22; 20:34-38; 24:1-53 | Critical | পুনরুত্থান never পুনর্জন্ম; must remain bodily/historical, distinct also from Islamic denial of the crucifixion-death | Human theologian |
| 9 | Historicity of the Crucifixion | 22:39–23:49 | Critical | Must be a real, historical death — not softened toward ambiguous “suffering” language compatible with Islamic non-death doctrine | Human theologian |
| 10 | New Covenant and the Lord’s Supper | 22:14-20 | Critical | নতুন নিয়ম never চুক্তি; শরীর (not দেহ) reserved for this doctrine to avoid overlap with Incarnation vocabulary | Human theologian |
| 11 | Release to the Captives / Forgiveness Wordplay Crux (ἄφεσις) | 1:77; 3:3; 4:18; 24:47 | Critical | Single Greek word ἄφεσις splits into two Bengali words (মুক্তি for narrow physical sense at 4:18 only; ক্ষমা for soteriological sense elsewhere); every occurrence must be flagged and its active sense confirmed | Human theologian |
| 12 | Repentance | 3:3,8; 5:32; 13:1-5; 15:7,10; 24:47 | Critical | Never প্রায়শ্চিত্ত (karmic-penance) or অনুতাপ alone (mere regret); 13:1-5’s universal call must retain force without communal exemption | Human theologian |
| 13 | Forgiveness of Sins | 1:77; 5:20-24; 7:47-49; 11:4; 17:3-4; 23:34; 24:47 | Critical | Always ক্ষমা, never মুক্তি; 23:34 must not be diluted into generalized goodwill | Human theologian |
| 14 | Justification by Faith, Narratively Enacted | 18:9-14 | Critical | Must use exact baseline phrase ধার্মিক বলে গণ্য হওয়া, not abbreviated to ক্ষমা; dramatizes grace vs. religious merit-performance | Human theologian |
| 15 | The Kingdom of God Within/Among You | 17:20-21 | Critical | Must render তোমাদের মধ্যে (“among”), never তোমাদের অন্তরে (“within”), to avoid Advaita ātman-within collision | Human theologian |
| 16 | Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit | 12:10 | Critical | Must read as settled, deliberate rejection, not momentary doubt — pastoral risk of inducing false despair | Human theologian |
| 17 | Good News to the Poor | 4:18; 6:20; 7:22; 14:13,21 | High | দরিদ্র must remain unqualified/economic, not spiritualized (Luke deliberately omits “in spirit”) | Human theologian |
| 18 | Eschatological Reversal of Rich and Poor | 1:52-53; 6:20-26; 16:19-31 | High | Guard against reducing to economic determinism or softening into vague comfort; blessings/woes must retain equal, unqualified force | Human theologian |
| 19 | Jesus as Savior for All Nations and All People | 2:32; 3:6; 4:25-27; 7:9; 17:16-19; 24:47 | High | Directly challenges caste and communal-identity hierarchy in both West Bengal and Bangladesh; no qualification permitted | Human theologian |
| 20 | Prayer and Dependence on God | 3:21; 5:16; 6:12; 9:18,28-29; 11:1-13; 18:1-14; 22:39-46 | High | প্রার্থনা sharply distinct from পূজা; Gethsemane submission must read as personal trust, not fatalistic ভাগ্যে যা আছে resignation | Human theologian |
| 21 | The Kingdom of God Present and Future | 4:43; 8:1; 9:2; 10:9-11; 11:20; 13:18-21; 21:31; 22:16-18 | High | Must avoid political/territorial reading and must not collapse the “already” into a purely future hope | Human theologian |
| 22 | Inaugurated Fulfillment (“Today”) | 2:11; 4:21; 19:9; 23:43 | High | আজ must not soften to vague “these days”; পূর্ণ হয়েছে must convey completed, once-for-all accomplishment, not cyclical unfolding | Human theologian |
| 23 | The Acceptable Year of the Lord (Jubilee Background) | 4:19 | High | Without a Leviticus 25 explanatory note, risks being heard as generic almanac শুভ বছর (“auspicious year”) | Human theologian |
| 24 | The Cost of Discipleship | 9:23; 9:57-62; 14:26-33; 18:22,28-30 | High | শিষ্য carries strong guru-shishya/Buddhist-pupil cultural weight; biblical sense (called, cross-bearing, communal) requires explicit first-occurrence framing | Human theologian |
| 25 | The Joy of Discipleship | 10:17,20; 15:7,10,32; 19:6; 24:41,52 | Medium | আনন্দ is low-collision but must stay tied to salvation/kingdom joy, not generic happiness | Native speaker |
| 26 | Jesus’ Compassion | 7:13; 10:33; 15:20 | High | করুণা must read as involuntary, personal, action-triggering compassion, not detached Buddhist karuṇā or cosmic benevolence | Human theologian |
| 27 | Table Fellowship with Sinners | 5:29-32; 7:36-50; 15:1-2; 19:1-10 | High | সহভোজ করা must convey deliberate, honor-conferring inclusion, countercultural against caste-commensality and honor-shame norms | Human theologian |
| 28 | The Mercy Ethic of the Good Samaritan | 10:25-37 | High | Despised ethnic-religious outsider as moral exemplar confronts caste/communal hierarchy; “go and do likewise” must stay active/embodied, not softened to tolerance-language | Human theologian |
| 29 | Davidic Messianic Promise | 1:32-33,69; 2:4,11; 3:31; 18:38-39; 20:41-44 | High | Requires explicit OT covenant background; Bengali Muslims venerate Dawud as prophet-king but without the covenant-promise dimension | Human theologian |
| 30 | Fulfillment of Prophecy and the Law | 4:21; 16:16-17; 24:25-27,44-47 | High | Must preserve linear historical fulfillment against Hindu cyclical cosmic-ages framework; Emmaus “it was necessary…to suffer” must not become triumphalist-only | Human theologian |
| 31 | Assurance of Paradise | 23:39-43 | High | পরমদেশ must stay distinct from generic স্বর্গ (Hindu svarga: temporary, merit-limited); assurance must read as immediate and settled | Human theologian |
| 32 | Authority of Christ | 4:32,36; 5:24; 9:1; 20:1-8 | High | কর্তৃত্ব (relational-moral) not ক্ষমতা (secular/political); forgiving sins under this authority is a divine-prerogative claim, not mere teaching skill | Human theologian |
| 33 | Spiritual Warfare and Deliverance from Unclean Spirits | 4:31-41; 8:26-39; 9:37-42; 11:14-26 | High | অপবিত্র আত্মা never ভূত (folk-ghost/bhoot-pretha and jinn-adjacent framework) | Human theologian |
| 34 | Sabbath Controversies and the Lordship of Christ over the Sabbath | 6:1-11; 13:10-17; 14:1-6 | Medium | Doctrinal point (mercy over ritual technicality) requires careful phrasing so as not to sound like dismissal of the Law itself | Native speaker |
| 35 | Mission and Evangelism to the Nations | 9:1-6; 10:1-16; 24:46-49 | Medium | Requires witness/proclamation language, not confrontational language, given real social/legal sensitivity in Bangladesh and social friction in West Bengal | Native speaker |
| 36 | Thanksgiving and Praise | 2:20; 17:15-16; 18:43; 24:53 | Low | Standard vocabulary (ধন্যবাদ, প্রশংসা/মহিমা); minor over-ritualization risk only | Automated |
Risk tier totals (matching registry entry-level assignments): Critical 16 · High 16 · Medium 3 · Low 1 · Total 36.
Part B — Chapter-by-Chapter Coverage Ledger (Luke 1–24)
Every chapter of Luke has been reviewed for doctrinal load-bearing content against the matrix above. Chapters whose narrative material only reinforces doctrines already fully documented elsewhere are explicitly marked “reviewed, no new doctrine categories” rather than silently omitted.
| Ch. | Key Content | Doctrines Present (# refers to Part A) | Coverage Note |
|---|---|---|---|

| 15 | Lost sheep, lost coin, the prodigal son | 12, 13, 25, 26, 27 | Central chapter for repentance-joy-compassion cluster; father’s compassion (15:20) is the paradigm text for doctrine #26 |

| 17 | Forgiveness instruction, faith like a mustard seed, ten lepers/the Samaritan, the kingdom within/among you, Son of Man’s coming days | 6 (foreshadow), 13, 15, 19 | The kingdom-among-you crux (doctrine #15) is uniquely located at 17:20-21; the Samaritan leper (17:16-19) reinforces doctrine #19 |
| 18 | The persistent widow, the Pharisee and the tax collector, the rich young ruler, blind beggar near Jericho | 14, 20, 24, 29 | Doctrine #14 (justification narratively enacted) is uniquely anchored at 18:9-14 |
| 19 | Zacchaeus, the parable of the talents/minas, the triumphal entry, weeping over Jerusalem, temple cleansing | 7, 20, 22, 27 | Zacchaeus (19:1-10) integrates table fellowship, repentance-forgiveness, and “today” salvation in one scene |

Notes on Review Routing Consistency
- Human theologian routing (16 Critical + 16 High = 32 doctrines): applies to every occurrence of the listed key terms in Phase 2, per
doctrine_risk_registry.json. - Native speaker routing (3 Medium doctrines: #25 Joy of Discipleship, #34 Sabbath Controversies, #35 Mission and Evangelism): recommended, not mandatory, human theologian escalation, but native speaker sign-off is required before Phase 2 approval.
- Automated routing (1 Low doctrine: #36 Thanksgiving and Praise): automated review sufficient; spot-checked by native speaker only if flagged by the QA pipeline.
This matrix must be loaded alongside doctrine_risk_registry.json, translation_memory.json, and bible_term_registry.json in the Phase 2 pre-flight checklist for all Luke curriculum translation work.
Critical Risk Doctrines
Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit
Bengali name: পবিত্র আত্মার বিরুদ্ধে নিন্দা
Key terms: blasphemy_against_holy_spirit, holy_spirit
Review routing: Human theologian
The one unforgivable sin must be presented as a settled, deliberate rejection of the Spirit’s testimony, not an isolated sinful word or momentary doubt, to avoid inducing false despair in anxious readers — a distinctly pastoral, not merely lexical, translation risk.
Historicity of the Crucifixion
Bengali name: ক্রুশবিদ্ধকরণের ঐতিহাসিকতা
Key terms: crucify
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be rendered as a real, historical death, not softened into an ambiguous ‘suffering’ term compatible with the Islamic doctrine (widely held among Bengali Muslim readers) that Jesus did not actually die on the cross.
Deity of Christ
Bengali name: খ্রীষ্টের ঈশ্বরত্ব
Key terms: forgiveness_of_sins, authority, lord, son_of_god
Review routing: Human theologian
Jesus’ authority to forgive sins on earth (‘who can forgive sins but God alone,’ 5:21) is a direct claim to a divine prerogative. This is the sharpest point of departure from both Hindu (Christ as one avatar) and Muslim (Christ as prophet only) readers and must never be softened in translation.
Forgiveness of Sins
Bengali name: পাপের ক্ষমা
Key terms: forgiveness_of_sins, release_to_captives
Review routing: Human theologian
Always ক্ষমা, never মুক্তি. Jesus’ prayer of forgiveness for his executioners (23:34) is the doctrine’s most vivid embodiment and must not be diluted into a general statement of goodwill.
The Holy Spirit’s Work in Salvation History
Bengali name: পরিত্রাণ-ইতিহাসে পবিত্র আত্মার কাজ
Key terms: holy_spirit, spirit_of_the_lord, overshadow, anoint
Review routing: Human theologian
The Spirit’s personal, empowering, mission-directing presence across the whole Gospel must never be rendered with ব্রহ্ম (impersonal Hindu Absolute) or পরমাত্মা (universal Self). The overshadowing of Mary (1:35) additionally risks an অবতার-style deity-descent reading if not carefully distinguished from a physical or sexual divine visitation.
Justification by Faith, Narratively Enacted
Bengali name: বিশ্বাসের দ্বারা ধার্মিক বলে গণ্য হওয়া
Key terms: justification, sinner, righteousness_conduct
Review routing: Human theologian
Must use the exact baseline phrase ধার্মিক বলে গণ্য হওয়া, not abbreviated to ক্ষমা. The tax collector’s justification by humble reliance on mercy, contrasted with the Pharisee’s self-righteous merit-claim, directly dramatizes grace versus religious performance.
The Kingdom of God Within/Among You
Bengali name: ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য তোমাদের মধ্যে
Key terms: kingdom_within_among, kingdom_of_god
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be rendered তোমাদের মধ্যে (‘among you’), never তোমাদের অন্তরে (‘within you’), to avoid an Advaita Vedanta ātman-within-every-soul reading that would make the kingdom an already-possessed inner divine spark rather than Christ’s own present, personal, historical reign.
Lordship of Christ
Bengali name: খ্রীষ্টের প্রভুত্ব
Key terms: lord, son_of_david
Review routing: Human theologian
The Psalm 110 riddle (20:41-44), where David’s son is also David’s Lord, must retain প্রভু’s force of exclusive, supreme Lordship, not one honorific among several religious teachers.
Messianic Anointing of Jesus
Bengali name: যীশুর মশীহি অভিষেক
Key terms: anoint, spirit_of_the_lord, christ_messiah
Review routing: Human theologian
অভিষেক করা is also the standard Bengali term for Hindu ritual anointing/bathing of an idol (দেব-অভিষেক) and for royal coronation (রাজ-অভিষেক). Without explicit connection to খ্রীষ্ট, readers may hear a ritual-bathing image rather than Spirit-empowerment for a unique redemptive mission.
New Covenant and the Lord’s Supper
Bengali name: নতুন নিয়ম ও প্রভুর ভোজ
Key terms: new_covenant, body_eucharist, blood_eucharist, covenant
Review routing: Human theologian
নতুন নিয়ম must never be রেন্ডার করা as চুক্তি (mere commercial contract); শরীর is used for ‘body’ here specifically to keep দেহ reserved for the Incarnation doctrine, preventing doctrinal overlap between the two concepts.
Release to the Captives / Forgiveness Word-Play Crux (ἄφεσις)
Bengali name: বন্দিদের মুক্তি ও পাপের ক্ষমার শব্দ-সংকট
Key terms: release_to_captives, forgiveness_of_sins
Review routing: Human theologian
The identical Greek word ἄφεσις is used by Luke for both physical/social liberation (4:18) and forgiveness of sins (1:77; 3:3; 24:47), a wordplay not recoverable in Bengali because মুক্তি is forbidden for the soteriological sense (Hindu mokṣa/rebirth-cycle collision, per baseline). Every occurrence must be flagged and the active sense recorded to ensure মুক্তি is used only for the narrow physical-liberation sense and ক্ষমা only for the forgiveness sense.
Repentance
Bengali name: মন-পরিবর্তন
Key terms: repentance
Review routing: Human theologian
Never প্রায়শ্চিত্ত (Hindu/Sanskritic ritual expiatory penance that burns off karmic debt) or অনুতাপ alone (mere emotional regret without a resulting turn). Luke 13:1-5’s universal call to repent or perish must retain its force without communal exemption for any group.
Resurrection of Christ
Bengali name: খ্রীষ্টের পুনরুত্থান
Key terms: resurrection, son_of_man
Review routing: Human theologian
পুনরুত্থান, never পুনর্জন্ম (reincarnation). The Emmaus and appearance narratives insist on bodily, historical, verifiable resurrection, also distinct from the Islamic denial that Jesus died on the cross at all.
Son of Man as Christological Title
Bengali name: মনুষ্যপুত্র উপাধি
Key terms: son_of_man
Review routing: Human theologian
মনুষ্যপুত্র must simultaneously carry both the humble, suffering-human sense and the exalted, Daniel-7 eschatological-judge sense; collapsing it into a mere self-referential idiom for ‘a person’ would erase its Christological weight.
Sonship of Christ
Bengali name: খ্রীষ্টের পুত্রত্ব
Key terms: son_of_god
Review routing: Human theologian
Muslim-background readers frequently hear ‘Son of God’ as a literal biological claim, which Islam forcefully rejects; a translator note clarifying the relational, eternal sense (not biological descent) is required, especially at the annunciation and baptism passages.
Virginal Conception and the Incarnation
Bengali name: কুমারী-গর্ভধারণ ও দেহধারণ
Key terms: incarnation, overshadow, son_of_god
Review routing: Human theologian
Must never use অবতার, which frames a deity’s temporary, repeatable descent (as in Vishnu’s avatars); দেহধারণ conveys a permanent, unique assumption of human nature through a genuinely miraculous but non-sexual, non-repeatable divine act.
High Risk Doctrines
Authority of Christ
Bengali name: খ্রীষ্টের কর্তৃত্ব
Key terms: authority, forgiveness_of_sins, demon_unclean_spirit
Review routing: Human theologian
কর্তৃত্ব preserves a relational-moral authority sense that ক্ষমতা alone (which reads as secular/political power) would flatten; this authority extending to forgiving sins is itself a claim to divine prerogative and must not be presented as merely impressive teaching skill.
Jesus’ Compassion
Bengali name: যীশুর করুণা
Key terms: compassion, mercy
Review routing: Human theologian
করুণা must read as involuntary, gut-level, action-triggering compassion personally directed by Christ, not the detached, meditative compassion associated with Buddhist karuṇā or a generalized cosmic benevolence.
The Cost of Discipleship
Bengali name: শিষ্যত্বের মূল্য
Key terms: disciple, follow, cross
Review routing: Human theologian
শিষ্য carries the strong cultural weight of the Hindu guru-shishya and Buddhist teacher-pupil relationship, framed around individual spiritual attainment; biblical discipleship’s called, cross-bearing, communal following of a unique risen Lord must be explicitly distinguished at first occurrence in teaching material.
Davidic Messianic Promise
Bengali name: দাউদীয় মশীহি প্রতিশ্রুতি
Key terms: david, son_of_david, christ_messiah
Review routing: Human theologian
Requires Old Testament covenant background; Bengali Muslims also venerate Dawud as a prophet-king but without the covenantal-promise dimension this Gospel’s argument depends on, so the promise-fulfillment link must be made explicit, not assumed.
Fulfillment of Prophecy and the Law
Bengali name: ভাববাণী ও ব্যবস্থার পূর্ণতা
Key terms: fulfilled, scripture, prophecy, law
Review routing: Human theologian
Linear, historical, once-for-all fulfillment must be preserved against the cyclical cosmic-ages framework of Hindu cosmology; the Emmaus-road claim that ‘it was necessary for the Christ to suffer’ must not be flattened into a triumphalist-only messianic reading.
Eschatological Reversal of Rich and Poor
Bengali name: ধনী ও দরিদ্রের পরিণামী বিপরীতকরণ
Key terms: rich, poor, woe, blessed
Review routing: Human theologian
Must guard against reducing the reversal to simple economic determinism (as if wealth itself is condemned) or, conversely, softening it into vague spiritual comfort; the sermon’s paired blessings and woes must retain equal, unqualified force in Bengali.
Good News to the Poor
Bengali name: দরিদ্রদের জন্য সুসমাচার
Key terms: poor, gospel, blessed
Review routing: Human theologian
দরিদ্র must remain unqualified and economic, not spiritualized into ‘poor in spirit’ (a Matthean phrase Luke deliberately omits); softening this weakens the doctrine’s confrontation of caste- and class-based social hierarchy still present in Bengali society.
Inaugurated Fulfillment (‘Today’)
Bengali name: আজই পূর্ণতা
Key terms: today_fulfillment, fulfilled
Review routing: Human theologian
আজ must never be softened into a vague ‘these days’; পূর্ণ হয়েছে must convey a completed, once-for-all historical accomplishment, not a cyclical unfolding — a genuine risk given the cultural presence of Hindu yuga-cycle cosmology.
The Acceptable Year of the Lord (Jubilee Background)
Bengali name: প্রভুর গ্রহণযোগ্য বছর
Key terms: acceptable_year_of_the_lord
Review routing: Human theologian
Without an explanatory note on the Leviticus 25 Jubilee background, Bengali readers of either Hindu or Muslim tradition have no equivalent cultural referent and may hear the phrase as a generic auspicious-year notion (শুভ বছর) from almanac culture rather than a specific redemptive-historical announcement.
The Kingdom of God Present and Future
Bengali name: ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য বর্তমান ও ভবিষ্যৎ
Key terms: kingdom_of_god, today_fulfillment, fulfilled
Review routing: Human theologian
God’s sovereign reign, already inaugurated and still awaited, must not be read as a political/territorial kingdom (a sensitive association given the religiously plural nation-state contexts of Bangladesh and West Bengal) nor collapsed into a purely future hope that erases the ‘already.‘
The Mercy Ethic of the Good Samaritan
Bengali name: মঙ্গল-শমরীয়ের দয়া-নীতি
Key terms: neighbor, mercy, samaritan, compassion
Review routing: Human theologian
The parable’s deliberate use of a despised ethnic-religious outsider as moral exemplar directly confronts caste and communal-identity hierarchy; ‘go and do likewise’ must retain its active, embodied, boundary-crossing force rather than being softened into generic tolerance language.
Assurance of Paradise
Bengali name: পরমদেশের নিশ্চয়তা
Key terms: paradise, today_fulfillment
Review routing: Human theologian
পরমদেশ must be kept distinct from generic স্বর্গ, whose Hindu cosmological sense (svarga) is a temporary heavenly abode enjoyed only until merit is exhausted, which would undercut the immediate, eternal, settled assurance Jesus gives the repentant criminal.
Prayer and Dependence on God
Bengali name: প্রার্থনা ও ঈশ্বরের উপর নির্ভরতা
Key terms: prayer, father, daily_bread
Review routing: Human theologian
প্রার্থনা must be sharply distinguished from পূজা (ritual worship/veneration of an image or deity); Gethsemane’s ‘not my will but yours’ models submissive dependence that must not read as fatalistic resignation (ভাগ্যে যা আছে) but as personal trust in a Father who hears.
Spiritual Warfare and Deliverance from Unclean Spirits
Bengali name: আত্মিক যুদ্ধ ও অপবিত্র আত্মা থেকে মুক্তি
Key terms: demon_unclean_spirit, devil, authority
Review routing: Human theologian
অপবিত্র আত্মা must deliberately avoid ভূত, the everyday Bengali folk term for a wandering ghost/spirit rooted in rural Hindu bhoot-pretha belief and folk-Islamic jinn-adjacent practice, which would import an entire folk-exorcism framework (village exorcists, shrine rituals) foreign to the text’s meaning.
Table Fellowship with Sinners
Bengali name: পাপীদের সাথে সহভোজ
Key terms: table_fellowship, sinner, tax_collector
Review routing: Human theologian
সহভোজ করা must convey Jesus’ deliberate, honor-conferring inclusion of the socially disgraced at his own table — a countercultural act in a culture shaped by both Hindu caste-commensality rules and honor-conscious communal-identity structures, where shared eating signals accepted social equality.
Jesus as Savior for All Nations and All People
Bengali name: সকল জাতি ও সকল মানুষের জন্য যীশু পরিত্রাতা
Key terms: savior, gentiles, foreigner, samaritan, faith
Review routing: Human theologian
The Gentile centurion’s faith (7:9), the Samaritan leper (17:16-19), and the Great Commission’s ‘all nations’ (24:47) directly challenge caste-based spiritual hierarchy and Hindu/Muslim communal-identity lines still shaping social status in both West Bengal and Bangladesh; no qualification for social or communal comfort is permitted.
Medium Risk Doctrines
The Joy of Discipleship
Bengali name: শিষ্যত্বের আনন্দ
Key terms: joy, disciple
Review routing: Native speaker review
আনন্দ is a standard term with low independent collision risk, but must be tied clearly to the specific joy of salvation and kingdom participation, not generic worldly happiness.
Mission and Evangelism to the Nations
Bengali name: জাতিগণের প্রতি মিশন ও সুসমাচার প্রচার
Key terms: gospel, gentiles, disciple
Review routing: Native speaker review
Open evangelistic mission language carries real social and sometimes legal risk in Muslim-majority Bangladesh and social friction in Hindu-majority West Bengal; tone requires native-speaker judgment, using witness/proclamation language rather than confrontational language, consistent with the baseline’s evangelism doctrine entry.
Sabbath Controversies and the Lordship of Christ over the Sabbath
Bengali name: বিশ্রামবার-বিতর্ক ও খ্রীষ্টের প্রভুত্ব
Key terms: sabbath, authority, lord
Review routing: Native speaker review
The healing-on-the-Sabbath controversies establish Jesus’ authority over the Law’s application; বিশ্রামবার itself carries low term-collision risk, but the doctrinal point (mercy over ritual technicality) requires careful native-speaker phrasing to avoid sounding like a dismissal of the Law altogether.
Low Risk Doctrines
Thanksgiving and Praise
Bengali name: ধন্যবাদ ও প্রশংসা
Key terms: joy
Review routing: Automated review
Standard vocabulary (ধন্যবাদ, প্রশংসা/মহিমা); minor risk of over-ritualization but no significant doctrinal collision.
